Audio attached to the button "submit" plays at the beginning of the slide

I created a text box with a "submit" button. When someone types in their response and clicks submit, text comments will appear and an audio excerpt explains the answer. I have attached the audio, the button submit, but when I go through the project that it plays as soon as the slide appears, not after the answer to the question. He does not appear in the timeline panel, but played when I go to the Audio tab of the submit button. As an aside, the audio on the success and failure of the feedback will be the same. Does make a difference? Should I attach audio to the legends of f/b?

Any ideas on how to solve this problem?

PS - the Captiv8er - you were so help kind it has everyone (me)! THX!

Well, how about that? I am answering my own question...!

With more tests, I found that if I join the audio for the legends of success or failure, she plays after the answer to the question. The audio was playing when the slide appeared first of all because I loose to the Submit button, which is visible from the beginning of the slide.

Thank you, me! (Maybe I'm starting to find it?...)

  • Audio, attached to the text box does not restart when you click the Replay button

    Hello

I'm currently having problems with audio / reading slides. The characteristics of sliding replay I tried (listed below) read the images and text boxes, but the audio attached to text boxes do not restart, continue as if nothing has happened during the synchronization of text boxes and images have been reset. This happens also with videos and flash files - the slide reads but the videos and flash files continue to play.

  • audio, attached to the legend of reversal

In Captivate 4, I was able to attach an audio file to a rollover area for a text of the rollover caption. The audio did not play until the user changed their cursor of the rollover area. Now in Captivate 5, in the same circumstances, the audio plays as soon as the slide appears - it is not triggered by the overthrow as it was in version 4.

Is there a way to make audio playback only on working capital as in Captivate 4?

    Hello

The behavior has not changed Captivate 4 to Captivate 5.

To get the features you want, you must insert the audio file on "legend of working capital. (and no rollover area). Now when you view the audio will only play when the user hovers over the area.

  • Disable the background audio when entering the slide

I put a check mark on stop the background sound to a slide. However, if a person continues forward and then return to the slide, the background sound plays. I want to have one on enter Action that will prevent this situation. Does anyone know if there is a way to stop the background sound in an action on enter?

There are audio slide in the slide, so I won't stop completely all the sound elements, just the background sound when a person returns to the slide again.

Publication corrects the problem. Thanks for your help.

  • object tracking/attached to the slider?

Hi I'm kinda stuck with a feature that I need an interactive CD. I need an object, for example a color circle, to move around the screen with the cursor as if it follows the cursor, or is attached to it, and I can't seem to find a way to do it. I'm still relatively new to flash, using actionscript2 CS5.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you.

Try placing the following code on the timeline that holds the circle (replace circle_mc with everything what you named the instance of circle):

    this.onMouseMove = function() {}
    circle_mc._x = _xmouse;
    circle_mc._y = _ymouse;
    }

  • Audio does not pausing at the end of the slide

Hello world. Captivate 8 using, version 8.0.3.290, 10 Windows.

Have a problem with the audio in a project where the user progresses to the next slide by using the next button. However, we recorded audio outside Captivate, saved as MP3 and dragged and deposited the corresponding MP3 files in the slides in the film.

We presented the project preview and audio is not a break at the end of the slide and wait for the next button to be clicked. Instead, he continues to audio for the next slide. How to stop doing this?

Thanks in advance for any help you might be able to offer.

Be sure to leave a small space after and before each audio clip in the slide. This way Captivate will not hold account is a large audio file distributed over several slides.

Another tip: don't compress to mp4, if you import audio clips to Captivate but keep the original wav files. Captivate will compress to mp3 at the time of publication. Look in the library, you'll probably find that Cp has created a wav from your mp3 file.

  • Best method to copy the audio project to the new slide?

    Captivate v5.5

I have a project composed of slides.

Each slide has its own audio.

I need to update the project (resizing and editing slide images), but the audio does not need to be changed.

Rather than recording the narration for each slide again once, I intend to copy the audio for each slide of the old (export) project to the new project (import). Audio slide 1 of the former gets attached to the slide 1 of the project new etc.

Suggestions as to how best to do so taking into account, I have several slides each with their own audio and I make sure that I am attaching the right audio file to the new version of the slide, it was copied from.

    Thanks in advance,

    Noel

    Hi Noel,

Can only explain what would be my method in this case. All the audio clips can be found in the library, but they have a very descriptive name. I identify and change the name (if they must go on the same slide number, simply put the number of the slide inside). Then in the new project I open the former as an external library (file, import, external library) and drag audio clips to slides that are appropriate. External libraries are so little known, but I use them all the time (have a set of functions frequently used in the files in separate project that I only use external libraries)

    Lilybiri

PS just see the official answer from the staff, but please, rename your clips there as well or you will not be able to identify them. In the original file, you can watch the clip in the library of each slide

  • Duration of the slide show CS5 does not again refresh audio clip

In a slide show, complete with 'Fit audio slideshow DURATION' checked (duration 00; 19; 32-24), I decided to replace the audio with a composition more short (00; 10; 00; 22). With the original audio clip erased and the new added audio clip and the 'slide show audio TIME Fit' checked, slide durations recalculated so that the last slide has a 00 exit point; 10; 00; 22 but the duration of the slide show is 'stuck' 00; 19; 32; 24. the end action takes place to return to the menu, but when the last slide goes black (at 00; 10; 00; 22) keeps him slide show running with a black screen, probably all the way to 00. 19; 32 24 before it hits the end action, even if I did not let it run again at this point. I shot 'Fit slideshow to audio duration' then turn it on again, in the hope that it will recalibrate at 00; 10; 00; 22, but the length does not change. Help, please!

Try to play with these ideas:

Uncheck "Fit to Audio duration slideshow."  (As you probably now it have anyway).

On the slide show tab basic properties, set the duration of the slide to zero.  Now, what is the length of the slide show?  The length of the audio new or old?

Or, something great (so I think that the total is more audio length) on the duration of the slide.  What is the length of the slide show?

Search now "Fit slideshow / audio.  How long is it?

I had the same symptom as you did (audio plays beyond the end of the blades) when the durations of slide added unless the audio length and 'Fit audio slideshow' was unchecked.

  • Leave the button to play the audio only twice

I am building an assessment of the foreign language with audio passages that the user must listen to then answer two questions about this. The user can play the audio twice. But even if I put 2 number of attempts, when I tested it, I was able to play the audio unlimited times. What is the trick?

    play audio only twice.jpg

You seem to misunderstand the 'attempts' to an interactive object, will attempt to clarify. It does not limit the number of clicks ON the interactive object (here a button), but saying how many attempts can be 'impossible', which means clicking outside of the object. For your use case failure action would never happen, because the user always clicks the button, never outside it. Even with the project to continue that left you for the action failure: never happens.

For the successful action, you use the command Play Audio, with project to continue unchecked: This means that the user can click several times, the playback head was never released, and audio can be played as many times as you want. The solution is to use a conditional, tip action (not a standard action because you want to allow 2 attempts, sorry David - TLCMediaDesign) and a counter variable. Here are the steps:

    • Set a user variable v_attempts with a default value of 2
    • Create a tip action to be triggered by the button that looks like this:

It is always prudent to turn off the button before you hide it. Or you can just keep turn it off. This action also allows you to show the attempts left in a container of text:

    1. Before the first click: v_counter = 2
    2. After all, first, click on: v_counter = 1
    3. After the second click: v_counter = 0 and since it is more possible to click, there's = 0; This is important because CP is not very mathematical mind, does not see the difference between a negative and a positive number.

It is also very easy to change the number of retries by simply changing the default value. Think it will be one of the (easy) scripts in my recipe book future actions. TNX for the question.

  • Add the button to play the Audio

Rick and other experts, it should be easy, but heck, I can't make it work.

Location: 6 Captivate slide 2 (any text, from PPT). Next navigation control button appearing a.5 and stopping at 5.5 no other objects or chart on the slide back and forth.

Problem: I want to add a 'play' button, which will allow students to hear an audio summary of the information. However, I want the button to appear also a.5 seconds. I tried different variations, but no matter where the play button is or where the 'pause' is placed on the timeline, the audio still works without clicking. I don't want to do this.

Any solution other than a jump to?

    Hello

There should be several ways to do this.

    * If the sound is at the level of the slide, phase it so it's not 'appear' to a.5,.6 ou.7 seconds in. Then configure the button to pause seconds a.5.
    * Configure the button with a legend of success and set the audio to the legend of success
    * Insert the audio on the next slide and have the button simply open the next slide

There are other ways as well. Just threw a little.

    See you soon... Rick

  • Audio commentary on the buttons of quiz

Is it possible to add audio commentary to a generated quiz button automatically when it was clicked e, g the button submit, cancel button etc?

I put audio comments on smart buttons form via advanced actions, but a tip action cannot be assigned to keys above.

If not is there a way to make a smart shape button in a submit button?

    Thank you very much

Objects embedded in the quiz slides, those who do not have a separate calendar, differ from normal interactive objects. There is no real difference between the normal buttons and form buttons as you seem to say it at all, just between the embedded buttons with specific features and the regular buttons. There is no way to replace a button quiz by a button of form at the moment, but that would not change the way they act.

If you want audio, you can attach to the legends of feedback (success, failure) or put them in actions that are triggered by the submit button: measures of success and the last attempt. More details:

  • Adobe Captivate Advanced - 8 Actions trigger an event after that audio connected to a button has finished playing

Hi all.  I use Adobe Captivate 8 on Windows.  I have a slide that has 2 buttons.  The buttons are placed in advanced actions, when you click on it to play an audio file and display the text, and then set the variable key 1, clicked.  The button are similar functions and can be clicked in any order.  When you click on the two buttons, I need to read an audio of conclusion.

My problem is that once the second button is clicked, select what action starts immediately, as the two buttons were clicked and the condition is now filled.  I need to finish reading the audio second-clicked the button before she turns to the next action, and no matter what I try it doesn't work!  Major frustration!  If you need me to post any screen shots, please let me know.  Thanks in advance,

    Mike

You must use conditional Actions, not simple actions.  With a Standard action or conditional button does not automatically frees the timeline AFTER it has been clicked.

You must also configure the tracking variables so that your conditional Action will be able to determine whether or not the two buttons were clicked and that's why the audio file should be placed accordingly.

  • Play audio followed by the jump to slide

    Hello

I have a problem with the execution of all stages of a tip action. I have a button which, after which is clicked, should trigger a short audio file indicating the correct answer and direct a user to another place in the project. It seems like basic function, but after creating an advanced with "audio playback" action and "go to slide" for the button and the draft edition, I get no audio. However, without action "go to slide" later, the audio plays as it should do both actions seem mutually exclusive. How can I make it work?

I would be very grateful for your help!

All instructions in advanced actions will be executed in the order immediately. You seem to believe that the jump will wait until the audio played, and this is not correct. Either you need to move on from statements, in which case the audio will play on other slides where you jump to. Or let the time for the audio to play before the break by combining action with the movement on the Timeline. Replace the jump to continue and provide enough time to listen to the audio by editing the inactive part of the button for the duration of the audio clip. Read head moves and reach the end of the finished audio clip slide. You can use the on Exit event to create the action of jumping, or (more reliable) action on enter the next slide. You provide enough details to be more precise, and it is also essential to mention the version you are using.

  • Last slide audio plays in the slide before him!

I am using Captivate 5. I have a quiz in my project, and the quiz results page is the 2nd to the last slide. After this slide is a certificate. Users get only to this slide from the slide of test results once they have passed the test. If they had failed the quiz, the quiz results slide shows the Retake Quiz button and it brings the user to the first question of the quiz.

The problem I have is with audio. The last two slides both have audio. When a user is on the quiz results slide, the audio so that it plays, but then he goes on to play the audio for the certificate drag regardless if the user spent or not. It's only the audio which is undercover. I don't know what to do.

My quiz is on the answers (because I don't want their scroll ahead to the answers and explanations). Pass is located to go to the next slide, which is the slide of certificate. Failure is set back to the 1st question slide.

All this experience? Otherwise, I think that my only recourse is to remove the audio from the last slide.

    Hello

Try to second donner.1 of the additional slide after the audio in the timeline duration, see if that helps. Otherwise you can give it as an object of a legend of transparent text on the slide audio. Let me know if any of them would help?

    Thank you
