Pretty sure who reads player features (not port). If you are sure that the connected player is SATA3-600, be sure it is on the #0 SATA ports or #1 (lowest number).

In addition, hybrid hard drives are much slower than real SSD. And even if it is SATA3-600... you will never see speeds anywhere near maximum limit.

  • Help! Aurora R4 BIOS upgrade, post after reset CMOS

In preparation for the installation of my new GTX970, I decided to update the bios on my R4 Aurora. I started bios a02 and upgraded to a05. Restart the new bios could not find my HARD drive. I ran the software post-diag and checked everything very well, my HARD drive was in the list and was checked off as OK. My hypothesis was that something was wrong with the upgrade of the BIOS so I decided to reset and start again...

To reset the BIOS, I swapped the CMOS of 1-2 and 2-3 Horseman after 10 seconds. Now, when I try to start the screen is black and I get the error beep 5 (resettlement or replace the CMOS battery).

That's what I did to try to fix it until now:

    • Reinstall the CMOS battery
    • Pull the CMOS battery, sauter jump reset, then replace CMOS battery
    • Replace the dough CMOS (new battery)
    • Disconnect all components except for the video and the RAM, battery CMOS replace
    • Disconnect all components except for the video and 1 stick of Ram, reinstall the CMOS battery

After that each rider reset the pc starts to boot up, then after a few seconds will restart. When it restarts I'm stuck at a black screen and 5 beeps.

Update! I reinstalled everything once more and now I get video and there is no more than beep. But I'm stuck on the screen of the Intel Rapid Storage Technology technology and cannot continue.

I tried pressing f12 during the boot and could not enter the boot parameters.
By pressing the shortcut of on the intel RST screen does nothing.

Thank you all. It turns out that all I had to do was to change the hard drive in legacy mode and it starts fine.

  • Aurora-R4, BIOS A05 not found?

    Heyo,

I am wanting to upgrade my BIOS drivers to the current version A11. My current version is A03 and it wont let me install A11 until I have install A05. I can't find the A05 driver to install for my machine.

    3930 GHz I7
    8 GB RAM
    AMD Radeon HD 6800

I saw a link for A05 Optiplex 790 and one for Dell Dimension DM051 A05 system BIOS system, but I don't know if one of them is correct for my system. Person does not have any information on it or can tell me a correct link?

    Thank you

    Chuck

Good troubleshooting. You might consider to close, open the housing cover and compress the possible air to blow any dust on the video card and its fans, then the same for the inside of the case. Then again test the video card in the games.

  • Aurora R4 BIOS ROM Checksum failure but boots 50% of the time?

About half the time to try to start it normally does so and the other half it does not, start but all the lights and fans turn but nothing appears on my monitor and it gives 1 beep every seconds for BIOS ROM checksum failure (Possible MB). It started after the installation of Windows 10.

Any help? and why would it only to start half the time?

    I solved the problem!

Thanks to Tesla1856 and this post with links to Tesla by Cass-Ole messages. I flashed the bios A11 of A08 by creating a USB bootable and update of the dos environment. She completed successfully and now I can now boot Windows every time and have either messages with beeps.

So far, it seems that the Windows activation message has been linked to this issue, and the issue of 'previous overclocking failed ".

The only thing I can think that caused it was installing Windows 10 he apparently stores the key "deeper" in the motherboards bios, but I don't know

  • Alienware Aurora R4 Bios issue

Hi, I recently bought a new graphics card for my Alienware, but apparently, I needed to update the bios for the card to function. I used a05 and tried to go to the a11, now, my computer is restarted with fans blowing as hard as they can, its been like this for about an hour, something else that I looked at tells me that I shouldn't have jumped so many version and it shouldn't take this long. Is it possible to avoid the bricking of my computer at this point?

You can get a better response if you re - post it in the forum of the Club of Alienware .

  • HP MIni 110 - Bios has no option of disk hard sata/IDE

    Hello

My HP Mini (Win xp home ELCPC HP) can not load in windows because there missing files during startup. So I decided to repair the windows.

However, I have some problems to load WIn XP Home CD SP2 (not ELCPC HP) at the start. I used closure of IDE - USB hard disk by replacing with CD-ROM instead of hard disk because HP Mini has no optical drive

The CD has been loaded, but when halfway incoming to the windows installation, I got the BSOD after F6, pilots and BSOD loading to the 'Setup starts windows..".

The error message was something like this:

"Search for viruses on your computer. Remove any newly installed hard disk or hard disk controllers. Check hard drive are correctly installed and configured. Use CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer.

    Technical information:
    "Stop: 0x0000007B (0xF7A22524, 0 x 0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)"

I browsed the site and found this recommendation to change from SATA HDD to IDE in BIOS. Strange thing is that I don't see this option in the BIOS. There is nothing a lot of option in the bios. I could only change the boot sequence, tool running, put in place under tension the password. That's all.

No idea how to change the SATA to IDE hard drive in HP Mini 110? I would really appreciate your suggestion.

I tried to restore but F11 / F10 takes me nowhere. Nothing happen after pressing these buttons. I wonder why the factory never create a copy for me restore my system if windows problem. I bought Win XP Home and Office, but no backup copy of the preload is created for the user when he is out of the factory. However, I am a little disappointed.

In any case, would like to hear from any of you on the issues.

    See you soon!

Have you tried the F6 key to go to Roxio BackOn Track to retrieve?

  • Aurora R3 system BIOS A11

    Hello

I have an Aurora R3 and installed Windows 10 - which went quite easily (with many thanks to all users and their useful son on how to do this).

Since the installation of Windows is not new - upgrade - I decided to just check the Dell website for available drivers and downloads. When I entered my service number, in the downloads, I see the following:

    Alienware Aurora system BIOS, A11

    File name: Aurora - A11.exe
    Important: recommended
    Description: Windows/DOS (1.94 MB)
    Release date: June 17, 2013
    Version: A11, A11
    Last updated: June 17, 2013
    --------------------------
Now, I don't have any problems at the moment and certainly not looking for anything :)
But I was wondering, since I have seen many complain Dell do not update the BIOS to the R3, does anyone else know this download? Has anyone tried to install this BIOS?

    It is said...

    Compatible systems:
    Alienware Aurora
    Alienware Aurora ALX

    ... that is the Aurora-R1, R3 not.

  • Aurora-R4 upgrade issues & troubleshooting

Hello, Alien Techies!... I come to you, here, now, humiliated and who have need of the councils for the control box... Let me start by listing my "original specs' followed by 'changes' everything / ALL next to or after (directly below), because I think it may be relevant to my points and questions.  Please note that I started at the time of the purchase with a modified version and upgrade to my request, and they DO NOT take into account the standard.

MATERIAL - Alienware Aurora-R4 (X 79 with chassis ALX); 3rd gen - Intel Quad Core i7-3820 3,60 GHz CPU (* overclocked @ 4.1 GHz, Quad Core, 10 MB Cache), Seagate 3TO HHD 7200 RPM, 16 GB of RAM (excluding max. 32 GB) - 16 GB Dual Quad Channel (4x4Go) * overclocked DDR3 @ 1600 MHz, nVidia / GeForce GTX 660 @ 1.5 GB - nVidia SLI - AMD Crossfire (power connectors: 2 6 2 8 pin pins / power Bus Port) (: 2 PCI X 16 slots / dual video card supports 300 watts per card & single card 600 Watt), Creative Sound Blaster PCIe-X-Fi, integrated Real Tek ALC892 Codex 2 burner (DVD Blu - Ray &), media card reader 19-in-1, Real Tek Integrated10/100/1000 GB wireless network card MS3871 Bluetooth Wireless Combo WLAN802.11b/g/n, Power Supply is 875 Watt Muliti-GPU power supply approved and Micro-ATX card mother 07JNH0.  SOFTWARE - BIOS A06, Windows 7 Home Premium.

    MISE_A_NIVEAU / REPLACEMENTS - 1.) SSHD 4TB 5900 RPM w / 64 MB of Cache Memory & 8 GB NAND Flash, 2) Windows 10 home edition, 3.) BIOS A11... ONLY!  With the exception of a few small updates driver, I'm sure.

My problems to surface around Thanksgiving, Christmas, he's 7 months after 3 years I had bought my Alienware.  It was a result of my first major update from Windows 7 to Windows 10.  My PC don't recognize even 10 Windows!  Instead, it / PC been force-fed Windows 10 conversion therapy through Remote Support assistance technique Microsoft.  Shortly after, in the week, was my first MOMENT BIG FREEZE, when out of nowhere, while surfing the internet entered my systems.  I could not even Ctrl + Alt + Delete for task register, fans revved up, and I couldn't do anything else the latest kind of hard reboot - disconnect the PC from socket... It would not happen again for another month or several weeks. And when my PC finally woke from its slumber of drunk and lazy, very, very slowly restarting black screen, try it is harder to take Windows or reject.  It took more time, once the main screen is running, and once he finds Windows.  My processors working OT, until finally about 15 minutes after its start in resting peacefully, the demon banished.  I could play, no problem, but when I was on a browser on the internet, and / or when I arrived 'Automatic updates of Windows' chaos, the demon returns, and the Big Freeze returned.  I know all this only in hindsight, looking back, 20-20.

It would increase only slowly, until the moment where 6 months that I have upgraded to Windows 10, she felt more fits, between half an hour sometimes a few hours at the end.  She's trying to restart, but seems completely Catatonic and unable to meet black screen alien find GOLD Windows and about every other day to once or twice a day.

I replace my hard drive, after he died, and he had pretty much cloned it from the backup of the my new SSHD, listed above.  It's now my second update in less than 2 weeks, in the second week of June 2016 now.  My third update level, all now a few weeks apart, with BIOS A06 to A11.  I don't know why or how that is never presented as lacking a upgrade.  I did a lot of checking, cleaning, defraging and even added a new Trend Micro Security to protect my investment.  AND I STILL see the hiccups like those from my old hard drive.  Nobody seems to be willing or able to diagnose this problem as a problem that pre-existed before my new hybrid Solid State drive... A few days ago, I received an error message through troubleshooting with Trend Micro and do an F5 accumulated prior to departure.  * The error Code 2000 - 8314 and Violation 119539 "- something like CPU error msg thermal 100 c 100 c thermistor PC exceeds the thermal limit out of reach."  I do not know.  Is this one of my chipset, processor or fan around my motherboard?

I want to apologize for this drag all this, but I believe that the devil is in the details.  So, thank you for your patience.  And I appreciate any input at all in my ongoing troubleshooting.  I spent enough money in the last two weeks.  And my own brain is pretty fried at this stage of troubleshooting by internet.

Now, A QUICK or a possible upgrade issues that I hope might actually alleviate part of the symptoms or even problems entirely... I would like to top off my 32 GB maximum RAM with of 4x8Go.  It seems that thought that there are very specific for my Alienware sticks, and I have to stay with this margin does not overwork anything.  I also want to do it myself, as I did with my other Dell Dimension 4700 PC.  I just need directions to wait for him, because I have other fires to put again AND / OR maps specific 8 GB RAM can I work with my R4 Aurora?

    "Play hard and go home!"

REMOVE ALL OverClocks (I suggest permanently if you want a stable system that lasts a long time)

Run Diags ePSA. Repair everything falls down before continuing.

Make sure that the machine is not overheating and SMART is good.

Use usb.iso to try a clean install of Windows 10/64-bit (for one SSD/HDD Virgin) to rebuild from scratch. Perhaps the migration of drivers and legacy applications during the installation of the upgrade was not 100% or you have an incompatible application in Win10 or the installed driver.

    http://en.community.Dell.com/Owners-Club/Alienware/f/3746/t/19679918

A real SSD is faster than any hybrid SSHD. I love real 240 GB SSD as boot C: and install only Windows and main applications on this subject.

16 GB Dual Channel Quad (4x4Go) is very well - don't mess with it.

Never used Trend-Micro-Security. On Win10/64, I use Windows Defender & firewall.

    Maybe try this:
    REMOVE ALL OverClocks
Disconnect existing SSHD (becomes a backup).
Install SSD 240 GB (or 100% perfect player)
    Clean-install Win10-64 to blank disc
Mainly use Microsoft only provided drivers from Windows Update
Install only Win10 updated applications, use Windows Defender & firewall free for now
    See how it works.

  • Alienware Aurora computer R4 crashing all playing

My computer crashes apparently randomly when I play games and occasionally during video playback, but it is not happened in a while. It can be planted anywhere from 5 minutes to hours after I started playing, but it seems to hang more during games that are more intensive graphics such as Thunder or Verdun war while it only sometimes freezes in games such as Victoria 2. When the computer crashes, the screen displays a screen saying that no entries are being received and the computer is unresponsive, in that the keypad does not illuminate when you press caps lock. He is unresponsive to Ctrl + Alt + Del or Alt + Tab. The only solution I have found so far is to restart the computer completely. Run the Dell Diagnostics, the only problem is that video card(s?) has failed the test of primary surface with WVC07-LUV error code. I already tried to uninstall and reinstall the drivers as well as to experiment with different monitors. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello

  • Impossible to install new BIOS A09 for Dell place Pro 7130

Validated that I use the correct Bios... :-)

    Scenarios:

Downloaded the new Bios and run, install rises and tells me it will be need for power, etc. and install works. Reboot the machine it always is on A06

Since the Bios flash tool and installation runs very quickly and send back me to Windows 8 and is stil on A06

    What should do?

Question side: is there something speciel set in the bios on the boot. Since I reset the default Bios (A06) I been bugged with problems of departure?

I can verify that the solution posted by Stone3t worked for me (unplug the battery CMOS).  Too bad, that it requires disassembly of the rear housing which may be too advanced for the average user.

I had all the symptoms / problems described by posts all on sites of Dell, as well as other: unable to update BIOS, unit will not sleep, etc. Corrupt ME was key. (Intel Management Engine Firmware)  Stupid thing is: he has been altered through updates of Dell.

Calling the depot repair, or any other Dell support (and 5 + times transferred, pending on hold for hours) has been completely useless as they refused to help because my camera was "out of warranty" Although some had mentioned there was a recall on this issue.

I am now updated to A15 and through all windows updates and everything seems to be working again.  No, thanks to the support of Dell who refuse to share the answer.

I not buy all Dell Mobile devices in the near future.

  • Aurora r5 stock heatsync voltage problems with evga modular 750 watt power supply

The stock fan on the heat sink thermal condition of the R5 Aurora stock runs just as fast as it can while holding a 6700 k, you mind, at a steady temperature around 30 C idle. Previous the cpu and psu were almost silent, whereas now the fan seems to run to rpm max powered an EVGA 750 watt p2 modular power unit cpu1 slot. How can I reach the bios to lower the fan speed?

Yet, I am not "awake" not until the Caffè Verona + mix roast French kick. I do not have the model of your computer, but your service PDF manual available for download on the R5 Dell.com support page lists the Bios options, lists the right place to connect the fan to & lists the keyboard button to push to enter the Menu of the Bios. At a time like this, I could put back the original power supply in there, confirm the fan installs, if so, replace the new power supply in, see if again deploys spazzes

but I don't think it's the power supply

If your bios menu has no control of the fan speed, a swap of psu se do not spin faster or slower radiator fan. If you have ordered the 6700 k to the Fund, you would have power 850w. If you have installed the 6700 k yourself, using pneumatic radiator, it is possible the 95 watt cpu needs best, as the cooling liquid cooling. I see you're at 30 c idle, but it seems that the fan is bad fan... header check than 1st, see options in photo here: Alienware Aurora R5 - fan CPU 100%

    • Edit: @Hockeytown messaged me: "I eventually replaced the H80i Corsair GT for a 550LC Asetek ebay OEM pump. "This has solved my problem of fan and I am now able to connect via the (Top_fan + Pump_fan) factory setting and not errors.
    • @Hotarri installed Corsair H60

It is possible, the motherboard as expected 'react' different when deleting in the 6700 k; It is possible that since 6700 k factory liquid cooled, the spazzes motherboard when the owner puts 6700 k themselves but without cooling liquid, such as a small problem, uses one table different fan / or a set of parameters of the fan speed (6700 k + pneumatic radiator = incompatibility) that hopefully you can change in the Bios somehow somewhere but maybe not

It is possible that you can hand-place 3rd fan header 'pump', trying to fool the mother board, lol, see if the cpu fan slows down as a test. Still, I do not have this model, I think that the motherboard that waits for a signal fan/tachometer on the header of the pump in response to 6700 k, good luck with it

post a photo of your swap 750 for us when you get it figured out (=

  • Aurora-R4, 8.1 update, Fan questions

My PCI and hard disk fans just started running wide open all the time shortly after the Windows 8.1 update. They respond to a manual control but when on auto, they run 100%. I uninstalled controls Command Center, removed the keys from the registry, rebooted and installed the last set of command on the web Center and the problem persisted. Thinking it was a Windows error 8.1 I reset Windows 7 build factory that originally came on the computer and it seems to work fine for a day or two and now works the fans wide open again. Discover the ePSA diagnosis and all fans of passed the diagnostic tests. All temperature readings say 77 degrees F and it indicates that the cooling pump is running. I see a lot of info on defective masters cards of e/s that may be the culprit. Anyone has experience with this issue before I pass through technical support. I work nights and that you cannot address on the phone with a representative until next week.

    Aurora R4

    I7 3930 k

    16 GB of Ram

    GTX 660

    Intel SSD boot drive

Running the update Bios A09 of the support of the site and now have 8.1 Windows 64 bit on the system

    Hello

Sorry for my English: i ' l French (nobody is perfect! )

I had the same problem with my R4 Aurora of Alien using version 8.1 of Windows and BIOS A10.
Impossible to set up the speed of the fans using the auto mode. 2 fans operating at 100% while the temperatures are at a low level. (Fans of PCI and hard drives)

I fixed this problem by uninstalling my 'Command Center' program, download the special windows 8.1 "Command Center" here:
    http://www.Dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/04/DriverDetails?driverId=P1K0M I downloaded the file called App_NT_AWCC305010_W8_W81_W7_Setup_P1K0M_ZPE.exe available since December 2, 2013.

and I restarted my PC after installing the new program of Command Center.

Now, everything is OK: Fans are runing with a low speed using the auto mode.
I hope this will help you.

  • A17 Bios Update laptop frozen when update completed and stop the habit

I ran the detected BIOS A06 updated from A00, and the AFUWINGUI utility updated all the blocks and shows

Stadium: Done on the screen and

    Address: FFFFFFFFh on-screen

But the utility AFUWINGUI itself is the status of Windows (not responding) displayed in the upper part of the application and all the fans run at full speed, and the keyboard/trackpad do not react

I can't make it appear taskmanger, and the power button does not respond so I can't stop it

She completed the update, but nobody knows how to impose a stop/restart?

You can unplug the unit and remove the battery.  Press and hold the button for 5 seconds should work to force shut down the computer, even if it's a block of material.

  • 5130 BIOS A07 draining battery DVP11 life?

Everyone knows of battery drain increased their 5130 DVP11 after updating the BIOS A06 A07? I went from battery drain of 1 to 2% in sleep/wake with A06 7 to 10% of the brains with A07. -Woody

Please do not take account, at the same time the A07 upgrade, I also installed Lexmark printer drivers who had his own lxeb called the service running. When I stopped this service, the battery drain appears to have normalized.

  • OptiPlex 160 BIOS updates not (because the fan is missing?)

    Hello

I just had a 160 of Optiplex opportunity (model DC01T) with BIOS A06 and have tried everything so he could update BIOS A10, A09, A08 or A07.

I downloaded the BIOS in DOS/Windows unified and put it on a key USB of FreeDOS.  When I run the package, it runs through everything and then restarts, but never actually updates the BIOS.  I tried to install Linux on a USB Flash drive, install the Dell OMSA tools and use dellBiosUpdate pointing to the A09. HDR file.

For some reason any that also fails because the module dell_rbu does not ' / sys/class/firmware/dell_rbu / ' as it should.  No amount of copy 'init' to ' / sys/devices/platform/dell_rbu/image_type "also helps to correct this problem.

The only thing I can think is that when the system restarts it goes to a "Fan Alert!" message because this unit didn't come with the fan & HD support.  I have one on its way, but if this warning/error is clearing the BIOS update flag then everything should work once the fan comes and I get that connected.

If this is not the case is there anything else I should try?

I finally got figured out if anyone is interested.  The fan error could be the cause of the normal update to fail, but by using a bunch of switches, you can force the update to install, and then restart.
