Authentication on Toshiba NB300-108 problem

Windows 7 suddenly crashed recently and since then, I got a message saying that my copy of Windows is not genuine more (I've never touched). I used the regular procedure with slmgr/cmd/FLIR and rearm for reinstall the license but it seems that the Windows key is not ok.

I lost it because it was on the sticker under the computer, too accustomed to be readable.
What's past and how to recover a normal working machine?

In your ad I m missing more important information: version of the OS pre-installed is the original that you got with your laptop (WIN7 STARTER)?

Product key sticker unusable for the activation of the operating system if you are using clean install of the OS. This key belongs to the original version of the OS (image recovery) only.

Have you looked at the website of Toshiba and the cost, but there seems to be a plethora of alternative sites with upgrades memory compatible when I put in the part number.

Would like to receive experiences in the forum about alternatives etc.

    Hello

    The laptop supports DDR2 800 MHz SO-DIMM or PC2-5300 (DDR2 667 Mhz) modules.
These modules are provided by different companies.
There are good quality modules and less quality modules

Of course, you can choose and buy the cheapest, but in this case, you use the risk of compatibility problems.

I made good experiences with RAM from Kingston. These are of good quality and not too expensive modules

  • NB510-108 problem with wireless and lan controller

    Help, please!
(answer in German would be nice, ill try English first tho)

I installed ubuntu 12.04 on my toshiba NB510-108 (PLL72E-00R011GR) and then I was not able to go online via wlan or lan same kable.
After some effort to install the drivers through ubuntu I have installed windows 7 starter edition back but now windows does not install the ethernet / wireless drivers realtek or atheros network device.
so I tried to install all the drivers wireless by http://toshiba-asia.com/sg/support/drivers/ but now when I try to run these drivers after loading them down windows 7 cannot install correctly, it says that there is a compatibility issue. I tried to run these drivers in compatibility mode for win xp sp1 and win vista sp1 without success.

Also, I installed all the drivers for my model of http://de.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=DE here with some of them have been properly installed and even when I get my system to a point where I find the two network devices work as 'good' in my windows Device Manager, the following problem occurs again:

I can't find any of my netbook WiFi network (wlan is enabled via fn + f8) no matter what type of router I try to connect. other laptops have about no problem connecting to routers so that can't be the issue. When I click on the windows just below the wlan troubleshooting info it only says no problem could be identified (the system is in German, so please excuse my translation)

In the information system components and devices of problem the pnp for the ethernetcontroller said pci\ven_1969 & DEV_1090 & SUBSYS... and for the networkcontroller: PCI\VEN_10EC & DEV_8176 & SUBSYS...
If it is useful. I also wanted to put my dxdiag online file, but this extends the limit to 3000 characters.

Someone here could help me please? It would be really nice

    Hello

I m wondering why you have the same problems of connection using WLan and LAN.
I mean its not really necessary to configure anything to get a connection to the local network works.
The router must support, and DHCP must be enabled in order to assign the IP address automatically.

I recommend that you check the TCP/IP settings in your network WLan and LAN connections.
In TCP/IPv4, you can view the properties. The INVESTIGATION period and all other options should be set to assign automatically. You should also disable/uninstall the TCP/IPv6 and must use TCP/IPv4

By the way: you have an antivirus and firewall software installed? If so, remember that the two don't affect the WLan/LAN connection.

  • Webcam Live USB Toshiba NB500-108

    Hello

    I had installed * PcLinuxOS * on my * Toshiba NB500-108 * netbook.

Last week, he began to pluck it when I used the touchpad on it for 3 days.
After that everything went OK that * he didn t want to connect to wifi *.

I could connect to the net through usb modem (Huawei e173, SIM card: O2 Slovakia).
Then a few small malfunctions are out so I tried to reinstall the system. and here's the problem.

I tried, but couldn t. Then I tried a different distributions: * suse, mageia, fedora, kubuntu, zorin * I couldn t install anything. Last night, I then installed * Bodhi *.

I Don t like it, but it is the only distribution I could install on it.
But another problem came out. He * doesn´t wants to connect wifi. Once again *.

How can I know where is the problem?
That is in material or between the Chair and the netbook?

The message seems very strange to me.

First of all, you said that it was not possible to install various Linux distributions.
I put t know why it was not possible, but you asked for the Wi - Fi solution.
To my knowledge, the NB500-108 supports RTL8188CE WLan 802.11(b/g/n module) Realtek.
I think you should check if the module has been recognized by this Bodhi Linux.

To be honest this distro isn't known to me, but you should check the Bodhi wiki since it provides all the essential info on possible solutions to different questions.
I found this beautiful page on Wi - Fi using Bodhi problems
    http://wiki.bodhilinux.com/doku.php?id=wireless

Hope it helps you find the solution.

  • Toshiba 39L 3300 problems using external USB WLan WLM-20U2

    Hello

Recently, I brought a 39L 3300 smart TV toshiba and got a free dongle for internet connection.

However, I was unable to connect to internet via wifi. The dongle I got from the Bank is a Toshiba dual band wireless LAN adapter WLM-model 20U2. But it doesn't seem to work at all when connected to the USB port. I checked with the other connectors USB port to watch movies and it works well.

The choice of type of network does not appear after the dongle is connected. Could there be a problem with this model of dongle? The user manual specifies a Toshiba dual band wireless LAN adapter WLM - 40U model. But the store gave her.

No matter which also I have this problem, please help.

    > User manual specifies a Toshiba dual band wireless LAN adapter WLM - 40U model. But the store gave her.

Yes, of course the problems of compatibility between the TV and the WiFi dongle could cause this problem.
I recommend to use the recommended WLan dongle WLM - 40U for this model of TV

  • NB300-108 replacement circuit

    Hello

I spilled a little liquid on my NB300 (only 6 months) and the circuit board needs to be replaced. I took it in a few places repair, but they could not locate the circuit board. Can someone suggest the most economical way to have repaired. Thank you

    Hello

I think that this should be done by a technician for laptop.
I mean the NB300 are a small notebook and it s very delicate for this remove and replace the motherboard.

I am recommending in contact with a local ASP from Toshiba in your country.
Then order a new motherboard and could replace it.
I think that it is better to spend this additional tax because then you are on the save side and be sure that the laptop would go well after this replacement to 100%.

  • Toshiba Tecra A3 - problem with Port Replikator III

    Hello

I have a problem with a Toshiba Tecra A3 combined with a Port Replikator III. Both work very well together until you disconnect the laptop computer. After you start the Toshiba Tecra A3 without the Docking Station, everything is always ok. But when I anchor again and start it, Win XP is not able to display the logon session on the external monitor screen. All configurations, I did (for example only display on external monitor) with the mobile extension module are only available after login. But when I don't see the logon screen, I can't do that; (o). so, does anyone have a solution how can I use the external screen after the boot (without using the FN + F5) key.

    any help is much appreciated
    Thank you
    Mario

    Hello

As far as I know logon window can be displayed on the primary monitor only. Computers laptop LCD is set to a primary, and it cannot be changed. As you can see this option is grayed out in display properties.

    Good bye

  • NB300 - multiple problems

Bought a NB300 in June for my daughter. As I've been in and out of hospital all summer I didn't know that there are so many things wrong with it until this week. No sound, can't shut down properly - supply obligation into hibernation instead of this, it cannot uninstall programs.

My question is how to do this sorting by Toshiba, as it is obviously still under warranty and I don't have the time or desire to mess around with it myself. I can't find anywhere on this site to tell me.

    Thanks in advance ##Gael

Who knows what's wrong there. You can do in this situation is better to make the new operating system installation using the HDD recovery procedure. Please check the user s manuals document and pick up info how to do this.
With the factory settings, I hope that everything will be OK again.

If you still have questions let us know.

  • Toshiba NB500-108 - FN key stopped working

    Hello

My FN key doesn't work anymore.
I got a message when you use CCleaner to tell that the file c:/programfiles/Toshiba/Utilities/KeNotify.exe is missing (as well as HKLM/software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/SharedDlls).

    How to solve this problem?

    Hello

The CCleaner deleted critical entries that controls the FN keys.
I guess that Windows 7 is pre-installed on the notebook. Right?

I suppose that you have two options to solve this problem:
    (1) you would set the BONE at the beginning point of time before this error happened.
    (2) you would like to reinstall the software and drivers key.

The Flash Cards Support utility controls the FN keys and I think that you need to reinstall this software.
It is found on the page of the Toshiba UE driver

  • NB520-108 problems with recovery

    Hello

Be careful on my English. I'm from the Germany.

Earlier, I have deleted all data on C: to install a different operating system. Data D:\ I left intact to reset the system later.

But now I can not get back the original with this http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD1303440001R01.htm guide system

When I start with "F8" and "repair your computer" I don't have "Toshiba HDD Recovery" in the Options list.

How can I reset my system now to the factory setting?

    Thanks for the tip.

    Best regards
    Michael

Michael, I assume you didn't not create recovery USB support, right?
What you have done, it was not the right way. Problem is you don t have access to the recovery image. You can install recovery image using recovery media only.

Anyway, I have the same machine and I installed the own version of Win7 Home Premium and it is much better than the original Win7 starter.
