Automatically log off the internet when the computer is idle for a few moments

Why my computer (Vista) automatically disconnect internet when it is idle for several minutesand after downloading a file. The message that appears after downloading a file is something the performance data.

Hi magicre,.

(1) what is you receive the exact error message?

(2) since when are you facing this problem?

(3) remember you to make changes to the computer before this problem?

Step 1: Disable the security software and then test to see if the problem persists. Follow the steps mentioned in the link below

Disable antivirus software

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/disable-antivirus-software

Important: Activate security software once everything is done.

Step 2:
run Internet Explorer in mode "no Add-ons" and then check if the problem persists

To determine if the error is caused by an add-on, run Internet Explorer in "no Add-ons" mode To do this, follow these steps:

1. click Startand type Internet Explorer in the box start the search .

2. click on Internet Explorer (No Add-ons). Internet Explorer opens without Add-ons, toolbars, or plug-ins.

3. test Internet Explorer to verify that it works correctly. If problems occur always, try step 2

If no error occurs, the problem is caused by one of the Add-ons that typically load with Internet Explorer. In this case, follow the steps mentioned in the link to determine which add-on is causing the problem

Optimize internet Explorer
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/936213

(See method 3-2 in the link)

If the problem persists,

Step 3: Start the computer in safe mode with network and test it. To do this, follow the steps below:

Access the menu options advanced start by turning on your computer by pressing key F8 beforeWindows begins. Advanced startup options menu select SafeMode with networking

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/advanced-startup-options-including-safe-mode

Let me know if the problem persists in this mode

Thank you, and in what concerns:

  • Keyboard stops working when the computer is idle

I have an ASUS desktop and windows 7.  When the computer is idle for a few minutes, the keyboard farm operation.  The mouse works fine.  Tried a new keyboard and no solution.  Tried a different USB port and the same thing.  If I restart my computer, it works fine until it is idle for a few minutes and then stops again.  Really frustrating.  any ideas?

    Original title: keyboard closed unexpectedly

    Hi Majohnson,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I imagine the inconvenience that you are experiencing and will certainly help you in the right direction to solve the problem. However, I would be grateful if you could answer a few questions to refine the question in order to provide you with better assistance.

    1. This is not the exact model. your ASUS computer?
    2. The issue has started happening recently? If so, did you do the computer-specific changes before this problem?

The question could arise is there some problem of corruption of pilot partners or a third party service interferes with the function of the normal keyboard. In order to diagnose and resolve the issue, I would suggest trying the following methods and check if the problem persists.

    Method 1:

Try to start the system in safe mode and check if the number is reproduced. If this isn't the case, then clean the computer starts and check if that helps.

    Step 1:

Safe mode is a diagnostic mode in which you are connected with only the minimal necessary services and active pilots. Check if the number is reproduced.

Start your computer in safe mode

    Step 2:

Place your system in the clean boot state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. You must follow the steps in the article mentioned below to perform a clean boot.
How to perform a clean boot in Windows

Note: See "how to reset the computer to start normally after a boot minimum troubleshooting" to prepare the computer to start as usual after a repair.

If the problem persists, try the following method.

    Method 2:

If you have any security software installed on your computer, try to temporarily disable the security software and check if the key words work properly. Subsequent update of the security after a repair software.

    Disable the anti-virus software

Warning: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

See method 3 for additional assistance on the issue.

    Method 3:

Uninstall and reinstall the drivers USB controllers. Use Device Manager to uninstall and reinstall all USB controllers. This allows controllers to recover the port USB of his condition does not respond. USB controllers represent the USB ports in Device Manager.

    1. Open Manager devices by clicking the Start button, click Control Panel, click system and security, and then, under System, clicking Device Manager. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    2. In the list of the categories of equipment, locate and expand Bus USB controllers.
    3. Right-click every device under the Bus USB controllers node and then click Uninstall to remove them one at a time.
    4. Restart the computer and let the USB controllers get reinstalled.
    5. Plug in the keyboard and test to make sure that the problem is solved.

  • When the Admin sign on the office comes to the top, but after that the computer does not respond when the user tries to do anything. There are actually turns off the computer with the power button.

    Original title: user profile

My administrator user profile does not work properly, but I have a user profile that has activated the parental control that worked well for about a year and yesterday when this user logs on the desktop comes up, but after that the computer does not respond when that user tries to do anything. There are actually turns off the computer with the power button.  I ran a virus scan and spyware scan in my user admin profile and he has not found anything.  I don't know what to check.

    Hello rhunter15,

There may be a program to interfere with Parental controls so that we can try a few things to see if we can determine the application or program that is causing problems.

First of all, we run System File Checker to see if you have a corrupt file system.

    • Click Start
    • Click on all programs
    • Click Accessories, and then right-click on the command prompt.
    • Select the Security tab and choose "Run as Administrator"
    • Click on command prompt
    • Type SFC/scannow.

It will scan and repair any damaged operating system files.

To determine if there is a program because of a conflict, we recommend that you perform a "clean boot" of the computer. A clean boot is designed to disable programs and services in the background as much as possible. This helps determine which service or program can be the cause of the problem.  For more information about how to perform a clean boot for troubleshooting, click the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base.

KB 929135 - how to solve a problem of performaing a clean boot in Windows Vista.
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Once you have finished the clean boot, check again and see if you get the error of parental control.

If please post again and let us know if that helped pinpoint the problem or if you still need help.

    Thank you

  • Computer freezes on logging off the screen.

Our computer required a restart of the system, we have followed all the instructions (computer restored last time it updated) & was able to connect and find our computer in a normal state.

Then told us to restart. The computer is now frozen on the screen "logging off". What does that mean?
original title: frozen on the screen "logout".
    Hello
    1. why the ' computer required a reboot of the system?
2 have you made any changes to the computer before the show?
    3. you are working on a domain environment?

    Method 1:
If you have external devices attached to the computer, I you recommend trying to disconnect and then try to shut down the computer.
    Method 2:
    Step 1:
You can try to use the power button to turn off the computer and then try to start at startup and check if the problem persists:
Some options, including the mode safe mode, start Windows in a limited State, where only the essential is started. If a problem doesn't reappear when you start in safe mode, you can eliminate the default settings and basic device drivers and services as a possible cause.
Follow this link provided below to start your computer in safe mode.
    Startup options (including safe mode)
    Step 2:
If it works fine in safe mode, and then perform a clean boot.
To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

How to solve the problem by running the clean boot in Windows Vista:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: once you have completed troubleshooting, perform the steps in the step 7: to reset the computer as usual.
    Method 3:
You can update the drivers and application software by visiting the manufacturer's Web site.
    I hope this helps!

  • Windows Vista - stuck on logging off the screen

I have this same problem with Vista Home Premium that others have had.  When I tried to shut down the computer laptop last night, he is stuck at logging off-page - with the active circle always renewable.  After 20 minutes or so I was tired so close by using the power button.  This morning when I turned on the laptop, he went to the same page of disconnection. 3 hours later, it's still there!  My technical knowledge is, to say the least, "limited."  I tried to open safe restart mode and pressing F8, as suggested on other threads, but which didn't work - I can not go beyond the logging off the screen. How can I solve this?

I had the same problem... This method works.

Turn on the computer and when the screen shows recovery Windows press the space key.

You will be presented with 2 options - either to continue with system resume or to remove the Hibernation file and start with primer system - choose the second option - you're fixed!
