Availability of recovery disk

Don't know why HP has such a convoluted method of simply stating that they have recovery CD of for the OS still available to purchase or not, but after clicking in circles several times and re-reading of all the nonsense "before ordering recovery discs", there is a page that seems to be the definitive and bed Center :

Order a recovery - CD/DVD/USB media (1)

Read this before ordering your recovery discs! (United States and Canada only)

2010-07-16, version: n/a

Document detailing the possibility of creating the recovery on the PC. Also define what information is required before ordering all records (serial number - OS)

Just to be clear, but it is this obscure rediculously "N" / "A" supposed to mean "not available"?

If this isn't the case, then I don't know where the link is to place an order.

If so, that its not quite Acceptable. Has answered no, not Applicable abbrieviation that comes just as totally inadequate and dismissive to their customers in North America, having survived their warranty products and are apparently unworthy of time to simply type "no available any longer.

Hello:

I agree that it is often frustrating to order HP online recovery media.

Sometimes the bond of order recovery media is simple and you actually get to enter the serial number of your PC to the records of the order, and the link is dead.

Sometimes, everything works very well according to the model.

My advice to you is to phone HP and provide customer services rep with the model # and the serial number of the PC you have and see if they are available and order by phone.

If this isn't the case, most likely, you can get a set of this provider.

  • 0xc000000e error - no recovery disk

So, two days ago the laptop crashed and after reboot we received the above error message: 0xc000000e: cannot start Windows.

The only options we could choose were the repair feature or start windows normally.  Both options lead right back to the error screen.  Repair does nothing.

We pressed F8 to try to get into safe mode.  Which also goes well back to the error screen.

We have pressed F10 and conducted tests on the primary and secondary hard drives as well as memory and they all come that "past."

Pressing F11 brings us back to the error screen.

As I mentioned in the title, we have no recovery disk.

Are there any other tips or tricks that we use to possibly get the laptop working again?

    Thank you

    JC

I think it was a hardware problem.

Test your hard drive or use another method to reinstall.

If she reinstalls properly, it must be a hardware problem.

Go to the website of your computer manufacturer > search your computer specifications > know brand of hard drive > access the Hard Drive manufacturer's Web site > find and download hard drive Diagnostic software and make a record of start of it on the computer that you use to get here, following their instructions > test your hard drive to see if it has failed.

And you can also use this method to test your hard drive:

  • Windows recovery disk... Vista and 7

I don't really know much about windows, but my computer must be restarted with a recovery disk but my laptop doesn't have one it comes with windows already on it when purchased... It came with windows vista and I don't know where I have to buy a drive for recovery for her because that's all I want, but I was wondering too... Can I buy a windows 7 and have my laptop back so it will take 7 instead of vista or I can only do drive recovery vista first then buy windows 7?

    Hello

You must purchase Windows 7 and that you do not use a Windows 7 disc to recover Vista.

There are several methods to reinstall Vista.

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:

You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:

How to change the Boot order in BIOS:

"How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326246

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

And if you do not score a manufacturer of recovery on your hard drive, you should be able to make your own recovery from her disks to reinstall the operating system.

Go to programs > name of the manufacturer of your computer > then their system or recovery tools software topics for them, depending on how it is formulated.

If you can't find any reference to it, contact the manufacturer for advice on how to make these recovery disks.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

  • Re: How to get Corel WinDVD without using the recovery disk?

The update for Corel WinDVD was rather messy and because of this some owners laptop uninstalled to try to install the new software. Now, we ended up with the only possibility of an image recovery, which, in practice, means losing the software.

Updates for the Bluetooth and wifi are also pretty messy.
Is isn´t possible to get this software back without using the recovery disk?

As you probably know recovery image installed on Toshiba laptops is a kind of software that includes the operating system, drivers, tools specific to Toshiba and utilities but also some additional software like antivirus or DVD player application.

All drivers and Toshiba tools and utilities are available on the Toshiba download page, and if you want to install the version of the OS, you can download each of them.
This additional software is not available for download. It's a kind of gift on the owner of the laptop because as the new owner, your machine must be ready to employment with full protection and opportunities to use multimedia content.

If you don't like it, you can remove the system and use your own applications.

Summary: this software cannot be downloaded separately and if you want to have it again, you must install original image of recovery designed for your machine.

If you have any other questions do not hesitate to ask.
