  New laptop, months - battery charge more than 73 percent and is slowly deteriorating. No difference if I use or that you do not use the smart load options. Any ideas?

  Steps to follow:

  0 turn off all smart pricing, battery protection and desktop modes. Full power of the computer laptop and tell to stay always on. Run a movie in repeat mode.

  1. discharge of the battery, laptop will tell you the battery is 5% and go to sleep.

  2 turn on laptop.

  3. it will tell you the battery is 0% after some time and then it will work for another hour, until it turns off by itself.

  4. switch on the back of the laptop, BIOS will tell you that the battery is 3% and will die again.

  5. recharge the battery on go to full-fledged State. (takes like 4 h)

  6. then return to any smart pricing, etc. Enjoy.

  I suspect the battery is callibrating itslef. Because when it is new, it is charged that the calibration set to the wrong place. He need to totally discharge to almost zero and then reload it completely. Then calibration set correctly and it will charge in 99%.

  Having too many CD/DVD programs can cause strange problems, especially
  If they take over parts of themselves at the start as they will be competing for resources.
  This does not mean that this issue was caused by those, however, it is a possibility
  According to what and how much you have installed.

  You have disk problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case
  (Read burn CD & DVD and CD and DVD). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 parts
  to not work so that others do it properly.

  Burning at low speed, or by using the master could help. A CD/DVD
  cleaner might help.

  Brand of the CD or DVD drive can also be the problem. Low quality (cheap brands) are
  still problematic.

  CD/DVDs have a tolerance + - and your can read/write on the outside edge
  these tolerances of discs. They may be delivered, but it is usually more
  economic to replace the disk.

• need to repair the startup of windows, files, but cannot use the cd-rom drive

  You must have the Windows XP disk to repair Windows. As the CD/DVD drive is not getting detected, we recommend you try the following steps and check the result.

  Step 1: Check if the device is detected in the BIOS (basic input/output device)
  a. start your computer and press on delete key continuously to see the BIOS.
  b. check if the CD/DVD device is detected.
  c. If this isn't the case, then unplug the unit and he reconnected inside the CPU/Tower.
  d. check the result.

  Step 2: If the device is detected in the BIOS, try the following steps:
  a. start your computer and boot to the desktop.
  b. Click Start, click Run, type devmgmt.msc, and then click ok.
  c. select my computer, click the Action menu and click scan for hardware changes.
  d. check if the CD/DVD device is listed in the list.

  Step 3: If the problem persists, restore the computer

• Problem with eHome Infrared Receiver Driver

  I have an IR receiver USB that I got from Dell which came with my old computer (XPS 210, I had to have my computer replaced if... the motherboard was fried on this subject). When I plug in the usual Windows searches for a driver and install. The driver for this is "eHome Infrared Receiver (USBCIR)" as it is listed in the device under USB devices Manager. After installation there is a green light on the receiver and everything works great, works by remote control (supplied with the receiver) very well as well.

  However, whenever I restart my computer, Windows detects the device again only as an unknown device. The receiver doesn't have a light on this subject, so it does not work. So that this work once again, I have to unplug and plug it in again.

  I tried to uninstall the device in Device Manager and install the driver again, but this does not solve the problem. I also tried different locations USB... does not help. I do not use hubs USB, just the slots on the tower. All my other USB devices work fine.

  I already searched the internet to find that apparently no one knows this problem. The receiver worked fine with my old computer, nothing was wrong. My old comptuer ran Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit (x 86) but this one runs the same only 64-bit, could be the problem.

  OS: Windows Vista Ultimate (x 64-Bit)

  Computer is a Dell XPS 210, the Intel Core 2, 660 processor @ 2. 4 Ghz, 4.00 GB of RAM, Windows VISTA, located on a network, NetGear RangeMax router WNR 834 B, D-Link network adapter DWA 556 Xtreme N PCIe Desktop Adapter. Other computers on the network and the wired computer works fine, but this computer has a speed of download de.23 a.5 after checking several sites to check speed. Download speed is equal or higher than 5.8 normal. But all download operations are slow, can not stream video. That is to say YouTube, news, iTunes etc. TV episodes without stopping and buffering constantly. My cable company is not their problem, Netgear said I am out of warranty and need to pay for assistance, said D-Link is not their problem. My network is a secure network, D-Link page says signal is 88%, any other computer connecting to my network, including our laptops are normal. IT IS ONLY FROM THIS COMPUTER. Installed programs are no different that our other computers, Norton, Malwarebytes, regularly, analysed regularly cleaned files, defragmentation on a regular basis, registry checks regularly. on all computers, including this one, BUT THIS ONE has THE LOW SPEED of DOWNLOAD. ANY SUGGESTIONS GREATLY APPRECIATED.

  What the connected (I guess by thread given "all other computers on the network" the computer cable)?  If so, there could be a problem with the wires.  They are connecting ethernet cables?  If you have a spare, try using that and see if that makes a difference.  If this is not the case, swap the cable with another computer that works very well and see if the problem moves.  If so, that is a bad cable - replace and you'll be fine.  If not, the cable is probably a good so just make sure that it is secure.

  You have a different port on your router that is available?  If so, try changing the cable to the other port to exclude a problem with this port.

  Go to the taskbar at the bottom and right-click on it and click on task manager and check the CPU usage and the use of physical memory (and post the results here).  Click the processes tab and identify by name, any process that never use more than 10% CPU (you can sort by CPU usage by clicking the heading of the CPU) and who are in the post.

  Do you by chance other programs access to the internet while performing the test (such as downloading updates of Windows or update the definitions of AV software or something like that)?  That could cause a slowdown.  Make sure the IE one window is open during the test and nothing else is running to make sure all is well.  If you still get the slow results, which is not the problem.

  If this does not work, try a boot minimum http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135.  If the problem goes away then it's just a matter of tracking down the culprit at the origin of the problem.   Follow the procedures described in the article.  Once found, remove, delete, disable or uninstall.  Once remember to put Vista in normal status, as described in the procedures. If the problem occurs in clean mode then just restore the system to normal and reboot - this solution will not work.

  If it does not, start in safe mode with network and try the speedtest from there.  Regardless of the outcome (please post in your reply) it should help to narrow down the cause.

  You can get in trouble with your device drivers, firmware and/or software.  Go to the Device Manager by going to start / find and type Device Manager and enter and then double-click on the program icon that appears.  Check each device to a red x, yellow! or white?  These identify devices with problems probably (drivers, but also of conflict or something else).  Click on each for more details and troubleshooting tips.  If you need to get drivers (and you shouldbring at least for your network card and the motherboard and all you have time to do - they can help way beyond simply solve this problem), let the computer dealer or the manufacturer of the device (NOT of Microsoft Updates).  In fact, you must disable automatic updates in Windows Update driver as follows:http://www.addictivetips.com/windows-tips/how-to-disable-automatic-driver-installation-in-windows-vista/.   Hi, I had recently reinstall windows on my computer on my dell XPS 210.  I have all my drivers made, including the recommended video driver.  I have a chipset update but I have problems downloading the video driver for Q936/Q965/Q965 or R147015.  I get the downloaded driver, it unpacks very well, but when I reached the last point he unzips, I click ok and then it says: "this computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software.  The Setup will exit.  Now I'm confused because it's the video card came with the computer. I installed all the drivers.  I don't know what requirement miss me to make it work.  I want this installed for our video games online in order to run more smooth.  If anyone has any advice please let me know.  Everything works completely fine and smooth after that I reinstalled.  So I don't know what I'm missing.  Thank you!

• Impossible to get Internet after put in a new hard drive and reinstall XP

  Thank you very much Bev.  I now have access to Windows (c 9/30/08-Dimension E310 - NO BOOT DEVICE AVAILABLE!) but I can't get online cus my XPS 210 is my main and routed computer to the modem.  My router cannot detect a connection to local access to the Dimension E310 and Linksys tech team claims that the router works fine cus, it shows the two comps connected r, this is the 2nd computer (Dimension E310) that does not allow a connection to access online.  Network connection screen is empty with no LAN/local access icon.

  I downloaded all the drivers and applications from the E310 Resource CD.  Why the Dimension E310 doesn't read the router?

  Problem solved by following these steps:

  1. Unplug the AC adapter / CC & remove the battery from the laptop
  2. Press the power button and hold for 60 seconds
  3. Plug the power adapter, put running the laptop and let windows start
  4. Leave it for 5 minutes then shut down windows
  5. When the laptop is turned off, insert the battery
  6. Turn the laptop computer, start Windows, and the battery indicator in the Windows taskbar should now display the battery level indication

  I have my netbook (hp mini 210 1040eh) years. I change the battery because that primary is not working properly. It has a characteristic of 10.8V. I was looking for a replacement with the largest capacity (5600mAh) and especially found only 11.1V.

  If I buy one with 11.1V it will make problems for my netbook?

  If you use a power adapter that charges to a higher voltage, it will probably translate into a higher level of current within the computer, that will turn warmer at the very least.

  Hello! I'm writing this fear and despair because my HP Mini 210-1000 is defective and I'm working on my undergraduate thesis.

  The problem:

  In the wizard in the HP Support, there is usually a calibration option which restores the full charge, which is 100%, which is currently available.

  Have been a customer for a long time of the Dell laptops.  Bought various laptops such as Vostro 1720, XPS Duo 12 etc.

  I bought the XPS 15 9550 on 27 June 2016 after costing a fortune.

  Immediately noticed a problem with the battery life that is loading / unloading quickly.

  The first time, got battery in full in a few minutes.  After recharging, at the beginning he said battery life is 4 hours. But the battery discharged within just two or three hours of time.

  Since then, battery charges to the full in about 30 minutes and ends in less than 2 hours.

  Because my laptop is still under warranty, I raised a ticket of support immediately on June 29, 2016.  Unfortunately until now, I didn't reply to Dell.
