BBM blackBerry in the world of Smartphones

Hello

If I had a blackberry in New Zealand and my friend had a blackberry in England will I still be able to use blackberry messaging, as usual?

Help would be very much appreciated. Thank you!

Absolutely!

BBM uses data network to send messages, so you can communicate with any other BlackBerry user around the world and it is all covered in your data plan.

Enjoy!

  • BlackBerry on the main screen Smartphones Message indicator

When I got the Blackberry "BOLD", the message indicator worked for each e-mail account (home or work).  It would show that the e-mail has been received in the folder.  Last night, I downloaded my contacts via the new Blackberry software, and now the indicator shows only for the folder "message", not what email received.  No idea how to solve this problem?

First thing I would recommend to try to reset the unit. Then can you remove the battery for a minute and then replace it? The unit restarts in 1 to 3 minutes. Try and send an email to test for you and see if it works.

Also if you switch to a different theme (Options |) Theme) see if it works

  • Contacts of Smartphones adding BBM blackBerry since the previous backup

Got a replacement phone and had posted my BBM pin on facebook and I had a few new people add me.

Then I restored the new phone from a restore point I had made from the phone before my loan, I got all my old contacts but lost ones I got recently.

Is my question there a way I can add these BBM contacts from a restore point I had just made of the loaner?

Overwrite your existing contact with the new!

Make a new backup before hand, just in case you want to restore. And make a backup of the BBM > Options.

  • New blackBerry in the world of Blackberry smartphones

Why does take so long to see my pictures that I have saved on my memory card?  There are quite a few pictures, but it's REALLY slow.  In addition, I know not how do I know what version of the software that I loaded my phone... I just bought an individual last night.

You have very LITTLE memory on this device.

This, with the machine on, remove the battery for 30 seconds and replace it to restart.

What is the free file now?

  • Comments for BlackBerry - why the world do I need Java to install the Simulator

I'm building a new developer workstation and everything moved very well except for the part, I'll install the latest Simulator, it won't install without Java.

The funny thing is that its only necessary to decompress the vmware (!) files. Once the files are copied and VMware picks it up Java is not used.

In my honest opinion, it's kind of weird and totally unnecessary.

Thanks for listening. ;-) Have a great weekend.

The BBM Server Simulator, which is installed with the 10 BlackBerry Simulator requires Java.  The device Simulator itself does not work.

BlackBerry Momentics also makes use of Java, but it includes its own installation of Java, so you don't need to install it separately.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones BBM disappeared after the 7.0.1 update

I've updated BBM from version 7 to 7.0.1. After the reboot, I found that my BBM was gone. I checked my world in Blackberry World, to see that it is installed, but it was gone. So I had all my BBM Messages messages. Make a restore from a previous backup has not resolved the problem, 7.0.1 remained. I had to reinstall version 6 to BBM. Version 6 installation means that I've lost the BB voice that came with v7. Nobody knows where and how can I get the previous version 7.0.1. IE version 7?

  • BlackBerry new Smartphones come into the world of blackberry...

... so please be gentle with me

I just joined the world of blackberry with a Curve 8520 and have some very simple questions that I see not listed in the FAQ

First of all, as a veteran of the PC and Intel server world, I am always very reluctant to update things like PC BIOS and updates of operating system even without good reason, but I suspect on my BB, that the OS is a bit outdated, as it was delivered. When I am connected to Desktop Manager for the first time, he gave a huge long list of updates that were available.

So the first simple question is - is it safe and the thing that is normally done to keep EVERYTHING up-to-date, or do you tend to follow the philosophy "only update if something is broken? And what are the risks of updating? They don't? Failures are recoverable? I don't want to end up with a handful of useless crushed raspberries...

Another quick question is on Wi - Fi - if I am in an area where I have a mobile network connection AND a WiFi connection, which takes preference for things like browsing the web? I expected to be abe to set up some sort of priority, but through a Wi - Fi connection if the signal is there? What happens if there is no network connection mobile - things to work with JUST a Wi - Fi connection and which rely on a mobile network? I guess, for example, that BBM uses mobile network services and does not work over Wi - Fi?

    Thanks in anticipation...

I have updated to 6 DM and have had no problem.

The interface is different on the new version and you may need to look in different areas.

But for the most part, it works for the most part the same.

Best bet is to just play with it and see if you like it, otherwise, you can re-download the 5.0

  • BlackBerry Smartphones using Wi - Fi to connect to my email, web browser, the world ap and... Well well... everything? on my 8900

Recently, I bought a Blackberry Curve 8900 with tmobile. Now, here's the thing, I don't have a data plan of any kind with tmobile. Then, when I bought the phone I have insterted my phone and it started. Checked with my seller to make sure he made a phone call... He did it. So I knew for sure my card SIM was working fine...

    Heres where it gets weird...

When I got home, the first thing I did was to connect to my network wireless... using a Wi - Fi connection... obviously. And from there, I went to the Setup Wizard and went through each step. When I got to the part of the Email, he gave me two options, I do not remember the two, but one of them has been "put in place of the emails through blackberry enterprise server"... or something like that. I didn't know that I didn't have a data plan, so I clicked on the second option. I went through the process and EMAIL... by WIFI. I even sent my e-mail messages free to make sure that it worked and have evidence that I received email and Xavier sent to me and others! without a data plan!

It's what I expected... I didn't know this wasn't supposed to happen? and that BlackBerry customers were able to get by email if they have a blackberry data plan?

Well, naturally, I thought that everything else works on a wif... like the iphone connection. Even if you don't have the 3G data plan, you can always access web, email, and aps. Anways Yes, applications communicated with the wifi network and my browser web page views on a wireless network.

Then my myfaves dissapeard and gave a script error or something java coding. Then what should I do? I called tmobile and spend hours of troubleshooting. Finally, I am able to restore or update my OS with a PC and recover my mfaves. But now my world ap ap does not start and tells me that I need a data plan... following its my browser telling me the same thing, but also facebook. I'm like what's happening? And then when I try to set up the email... There is only one option... and that's 'email through blackberry enterprise server installation "...

So my question is... If you take the time to read this... Why in the world any order in collaboration with wi fi and out of nowhere asked me to use a blackberry data service plan?

    daveynielsen wrote:

Because, without THE BlackBerry data Plan, you will be using your WiFi HotSpot browser, and that's all. No email, no features of data application RIM as AppWorld or the BlackBerry Facebook app.

He worked first, because you probably remnant provisioning Service books from the former owner, I suppose (as you mentioned "checked with my salesman).

For me, seems to be suspected of working as.

Not quite, you must always have a data plan for the iPhone.

  • BlackBerry smartphones anyone using VIP access with Paypal payment method in the world of BlackBerry?

I'm in trouble. I suspect either BlackBerry World does not support two-factor authentication, or I'm doing something wrong. If you use with Paypal VIP access into the world of BlackBerry and to do with success, please tell me how you do it.

    Background...

Today I received the error described at http://support.blackberry.com/kb/articleDetail?ArticleNumber=000036300

I had created Paypal in BlackBerry World before I had activated two-factor authentication in Paypal, but I made purchases since then without problem, until today.

I deleted Paypal but could not add it back.

I found this old thread which shows the BlackBerry World does not have authentication to two factors, but this is an old thread and maybe things have changed.

    http://supportforums.BlackBerry.com/T5/downloaded-applications/problem-using-PayPal-in-app-world/TD-...

I tried with just: password right and I tried with password and code added at the end of the password.

    Follow-up...

    Finally, it worked.

Think about the possibility that BlackBerry World supports authentication two factor and that maybe I have do the procedure correctly, but maybe there is a temporary break in the system somewhere, I kept trying periodically.

Finally, it worked. Even after moments before getting the same error, it finally worked.

So, to confirm: If you configure paypal as method of payment in the world of BlackBerry, and you use two-factor authentication with paypal in conjunction with VIP access, enter your PayPal username and password and then add the authentication code on the end of your password.

Suggestions if you get an error saying message try again later: wait a minute. Look for the code update and use this code immediately. Do not use a code that is subject to maturity; wait for a charge code and use it immediately. If you still get an error message, try again several times, with a charge code every time. If you still get an error message, wait a few moments and try again.

  • BlackBerry smartphones, I can't use the Web site and application app in the world

    Hello

I'm trying to use the app in the world in my BB Bold 9700 but I get this error:

you are not connected to the wireless network

I also tried to download applications from app World site but I get this error:

    Aircraft Radio off

BlackBerry App World requires that your radio to the unit is turned on to continue.

Is there any solution for this?

BlackBerry App World works, you must have access to the BlackBerry data plan or Wi - Fi network. If you do not data BB plan then you must be connected to the Wi - Fi coverage. Also check and have the latest version of App World of http://www.blackberry.com/appworld.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Priv receives not BBM notification in the hub

Hello, I just had the Priv and turns out that I can't receive notification of bbm in the hub. I actually have to go in the app bbm itselft. I have the settings set properly in how I learned to do through crackberry forums. I have the icon for bbm showing on the top bar as well (if it's of any importance). Not knowing what to do.

You keep mixing up the notifications and the convos... These are different things.

If you don't have a BBM contact, so don't expect convos appears in the HUB (since there is no active convos)... and more no notification on convos (since having a convo is a condition precedent to the receipt of the notice of one).

Channels do not fit in the hub. So it's WAD - works as expected.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones download of the world of the device applications

Hi all, my BB torch will not download anything either form the world unit! itself to download the program, but never the download ends, how can I solve this problem and also remove what it started to download! Thank you

    Hello!

I suggest that you clear the cache of the AppWorld application:

    1. open the App World

    2. go to my world

    3. for the BB keyboard-oriented - hold down the ALT key and press on, in the sequence R, then S, then T

    3. for Storm/Pearl - hold the num-lock (! 123 button) so that it hangs and then press on, in the sequence 3, then 4, then)

    4. If your BB locks after issuing clear cache, do a battery pull reboot

    5. return to the AppWorld. Connect to MyWorld (if there is one) and try again.

I hope it'll work for you! Good luck and let us know!

PS - it is AppWorld... no device world.

  • How can blackBerry smartphones, I get rid of this sign of the world?

I had this sign in the world and number one and more on the main screen, I don't know how it got there! can anyone help to get rid of it?

If I have the right to mind, which is a browser notification.  You can disable it by going to your main message folder, then press the BB Menu key and do scroll to the display folder, select it, then take a look in your WAP Push Messages folder.  You should find the message where you can delete it then.

Note that if you have the main folder of Messages on your phone, go to the home screen, press the BB Menu key and select Show all in the options.  Then you should be able to find your Messages folder.

    I hope that helps!
