Black screen on Macbook - don't wake after sleep

I have a model mid-2009 13 "Macbook Pro which is been updated for the last OS. For the last two weeks, I had problems make him wake up once he starts in mode 'sleep'. It seems not important whether she goes to sleep because of the closure of the lid or inactivity, and it seems not important to know if she was in mode 'sleep' for a few hours or just enter the mode 'sleep'. I try to wake up by pressing a button, and the screen remains black. I finally have to press and hold the power button until I hear it powering down and then press the power button to turn it back on. Can I get the nice message that said "you shut down your computer because of a problem" when it loads up.

I know that the device is on when the screen is black because it makes the noise to stop when I am forced to stop it manually. And whenever he refuses to wake up from the black screen, there a lot of battery when it finally loads up after that I turned it off. If he pulled when he falls asleep, plug the charger when it does not react with the black screen does nothing no more. And this isn't a case of the lighting of the screen being turned all the way down - I've tried too, just to be sure.

I'd appreciate really any suggestion or help, because I have no idea what to do. He just started to happen suddenly, and since he started it happens almost every time my computer will sleep, what is super frustrating. I don't have not download anything new or modifications to the right until it all started, and it started before I've updated to El Capitan and continued since then, so I really don't know what the deal is...

It is due to the inverter of the screen which has stopped working, it controls the backlight of the LCD/LED screen part when it breaks it causes the backlight to turn off and wont go on then you would need to have ups re-place with a new one.

  • Windows 8 don't wake from sleep - STANDING

Windows 8 will not light (dual monitor) monitors after sleep. It seems I'm not the only one with this problem. It worried me at first, but after a reboot, hard always came back. Last night I put my computer to sleep and press the keyboard by mistake, it will wake up before it was completely asleep. Uh oh I thought - I was right.

Now, I can't monitor to market. Not at all! I don't know how far I am in the process of starting. It seems that nothing supports usb but the lights do not turn on, on the wired keyboard. I'm getting a boot usb drive, but I think it's going to work. (I did not have a hard drive on a computer for 3 + years) Any help is appreciated. Overall, something like this happens because of sleep mode is ^ % (#* & #(% * ^ ridicule.)) His turning point as my car off the coast and the transmission blows up.

Also - no I did no changes. No new drivers, no deletion, everything is up-to-date. Perhaps there is a simple solution, I've forgotten, but I'm sure it's more serious... I still don't know what to think about windows 8, after months of daily use and an open mind to learning a new layout.

Also #2 - is more than a matter of monitor. I have configured to run at the start of TeamViewer, and I can't patch from another computer, so that my thought is that the computer is certainly not loaded on the desktop. • Black screen on Macbook Pro!

I woke up to my MacBook Pro 2015 and would make startup noise but the screen is black. Backlight still works. I tried... Safe mode, Reseting PRAM and as SCM or other... any suggestions?

I recorded the event on my phone. Any idea why this happened? I know this is an old computer and will likely soon, but I usually never have problems with it. I had just turned on my computer and briefly surfe SURFs on the Web before this happened, leaving it on for too long was not the issue.

I would try SMC and NVRAM resets:

  • Black screen that appears (with a cursor) after startup on Windows 8

When I start my pc I get a cursor and a blank screen after the Welcome screen. Help please

    Hi Salah,

Thanks for posting your query in the Microsoft Community Forums.

According to the description, it apepars that you get with the black cursor screen after the Welcome screen. I will certainly help you fix this problem.

    (1) the question has started recently?

    (2) have you made changes on the computer before this problem?

Method 1: Unplug all external devices connected to the computer except keyboard, mouse and monitor and check if the problem persists.

    Method 2:

Step 1: I suggest to start the computer using safe mode and check if it helps.
Start settings for Windows (including safe mode)
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/Windows-startup-settings-including-safe-mode

If the issue is not persistent, then follow step 2 to find the cause of the same.

St ep 2 : I suggest to maintain the computer in clean boot mode and check if the problem persists.
A clean boot to check if startup item or services to third-party application is causing this issue.
You can read the following article to configure the computer to boot:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135
Note: When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual.

    • On the Start screen, type in msconfigand press ENTER.
    • On the general tab, type or click the Normal startup option.
    • Press or click the Services tab and uncheck hide all Microsoft services, and then press or click enable all.
    • Then, press or click on the Startup tab, and then press or click Open the Task Manager.
    • In the Task Manager, select all your startup programs and then press or click OK.
    • When you are prompted to restart the computer, tap or click restart.

Method 3: I would also say you update the display drivers and the graphics card on the manufacturer's Web site and check the status of the issue.

I hope this helps. Try the above steps and get back to us for more assistance and with the requested details, if the problem is not resolved.

  • Re: Portege R700 not wake after sleep

    Hi all
I just bought a R700 and the laptop doesn't wake up after going to sleep. I did a bios upgrade. I have all the power options to sleep to "never" at the present time and other options of hibernation which works very well.
I'm a little worried because I have to make the software updates for sensitive equipment during a couple of them the R700 is stopped and I had to do a power of the force down.

When he tries to get out, sleep, the screen remains blank and the on-ramps fan until takeoff speed and stays there until I have to force a shutdown.

    Any ideas?

I uninstalled tempro when I searched a driver that he has not found any so searched manually updated and found a few. Waste of time and interefering.

    Hello

Have you noticed this problem from the day or later after the installation of these updates?
    > I'm a little worried because I have to do software updates...
No one forcing you to make updates. You need to install are updated Microsoft.
If the system works well with the original recovery image Toshiba (factory settings) leaves.

The only thing you should do is to optimize BONE and remove the stuff you don't need.

    Back to your question:
Can you confirm that this problem occurs with the factory settings and without any installation of updates?

  • Aspire SW5 - 015 don't wake mode 'sleep'

About 1 in 4 times that I try to wake the Tablet, he won't answer. I see the mouse, but the rest of the screen is black. If I press the power button on the side, I get the half screen that says «Drag down to stop...» "but it is not really closed. I can say that it's still plugged in because the screen is a slightly lighter gray until it is completely closed down. The only solution is to hold the volume button and the power button to reset. Ideas? My guess is a video driver issue, but he says that all drivers are up-to-date. This has been a problem since day 1. I had about 3 weeks.

  • ThinkPad S230u wake after sleep of TSRI since BIOS update

I use S230u (processor i7, 8 GB of RAM, 500GB HDD + 24 GB SSD) with Windows 8 x 64 for half a year now and so far everything works perfectly.

I IRST activated and when I put it in mode 'sleep', it automatically records the State of SSD after an hour. That has worked very well so far - I can put it to sleep for short periods and then get up instantly and if I put it to sleep because more it will record in SSD and not use battery - when I wake up, it's flashing red LED for a while and the system comes back online.

However, this Friday, I installed the BIOS - update 1.57.1.57 to 1.61.1.61 update (at least according to the system update history).

Since Friday when I try to wake him up, he does not work if sleep is longer than one hour (or almost) and that the State has been stored in SSD. The Red led continues to blink, but nothing happens - after 1-2 minutes, the system restarts and Windows loads again.

I want to downgrade the BIOS and doublecheck that is the question - maybe it's another patch Windows or Lenovo, so I want to be sure.

I have already located the driver BIOS (http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS032000) downloads and wonder if BIOS to check if this is the problem of decommissioning can break anything with my laptop?

  • HP pavilion n 204 tx: unable to wake after sleep in window 10

I downloaded windows 10 yesterday and everything seems to work properly. However, whenever I SLEEP my computer, it is supposed to go to mode "Eve" where a twitch of the mouse wakes you up there. He goes to sleep, but I can't wake up through any interaction with the mouse or the keyboard. The light is still on, indicating that the computer is in sleep, but I can't seem to wake up. I had to hold the power button to turn it on then and I'm sure it's terrible that my computer turns off does not correctly. Everything was fine while I had windows 8.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Hello @deepak9758,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that you are having a problem of sleep mode and that he wanted to help you!

For starters, can you provide me with the product number of the laptop?  Here is a link that you can use that will help you find your model and product number:

How can I find my model number or product number?

In the meantime, try to review the next steps, posted by Member of the DanG82community:

    1. Download version 9 or 10 of the Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI) driver.
    2. Browse HP Software and Driver Downloads of the site (http://www8.hp.com/us/en/drivers.html) to find the latest driver approved for your model. Filtrer filter by version, select Microsoft Windows 8.1 on the menu drop-down. Find the download in the category 'Driver-Chipset' If a pilot of MEI with a version from 9 or 10 number is listed, download. [9.5.24.1790 version 1.5 M (http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp66001-66500/sp66228.exe) works for most models.]
    3. If a pilot of MEI with a version from 9 or 10 number is NOT listed, download the appropriate driver directly from Intel (https://downloadcenter.intel.com/search?keyword=intel+management+engine). [9.5.24.1790 version 1.5 M (https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/23091/Intel-ME-9-Management-Engine-Driver-for-Intel-NUC) works for most models.]
    4. Download the Package troubleshooting tool Windows 10 "show or hide updates" (http://download.microsoft.com/download/F/2/2/F22D5FDB-59CD-4275-8C95-1BE17BF70B21/wushowhide.diagcab).
    5. Change the Windows Update Services automatic (delayed start) parameter to the manual.
    6. In Control Panel, select administrative tools, and open Services.
    7. Go to Windows Update and double-click it to view its properties.
    8. Click on stop to stop the service to run.
    9. Change the Startup Type to manual, and then click OK.
    10. Install version 9 or 10 of the Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI) driver. If you receive a warning dialog box about the replacement of a newer version of the software, accept it.
    11. NOTE: You don't need to uninstall version 11 before installing version 9 or 10. The presence of a version of the driver is required to 'upgrade' (or demote in this case).
    12. Run the Windows 10 Troubleshooting Package 'Show or hide updates' and hide the updates of the Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI) driver. (This will block your system automatically reinstall or display of updates for version 11 of the pilot).
    13. Change back the setting of Windows Update Services to manual automatic (delayed start).
    14. Restart your computer.
    15. Rejoice!  You can finally sleep and stop again.
