BlackBerry Desktop Redirector Smartphones

Hi all

I have recently upgraded from a Curve (8300) Blackberry in a Bold (9000) of Blackberry and made with success the switch of the device using Desktop Manager 4.6 at home just to transfer all my files and various junk to the new phone... but when I try to work, so I can get the redirector to send my mails to "Bold" PIN It will not work.  At the bottom of the Desktop Manager it says current device PIN: "my new PIN" and active device PIN: "my old pine.  As soon as I open the Desktop Manager, it brings me to a question if I want to change my active device from my old to my new pin.  Even if I select 'Yes', it will not change my active device to my new camera.  It recognizes my new camera, but it will not change the current device to my new camera.  Therefore, when I check the window redirector real status, he still has my old PIN code.  I checked with the person who has my old PIN, and it does not receive any of my emails to work.  I don't know what to do next.  Thanks to everyone in advance for all future efforts.

-Véronique

This error occurs when an encryption key was not generated. Encryption keys can be generated manually or automatically. For maximum security, the new keys must be generated every two to four weeks. If you choose to automatically generate a key, you are reminded after 31 days to generate a new key when you connect your Pocket PC to your PC with the desktop running software.

To automatically generate an encryption key:

  1. Connect your device to your PC and open the redirector Configuration tool in the desktop software. Select the Security tab, and then select generate keys manually. Click on apply.
  2. The following message appears: "the current encryption key is obsolete. A new must be generated. »
  3. Click OK. The dialog box to generate a new key appears with instructions to move the mouse to your PC in a random motion to generate a key.
  4. Click on apply. Then click OK to return to the office.
  5. When you find the encryption key, synchronize handheld with the desktop software

  • BlackBerry Desktop Redirector Smartphones stuck in 'Address Verification '.

We have a number of Blackberry using the redirector and 4.7 Desktop and with our first tour using the redirector software and Desktop 5.0, the redirector remains in mode "Address Verification" not operational.  This didn't happen with curves and a "BOLD" that installed fine and work using the redirector without problems.

    Any suggestion would be appreciated!

Problem solved.  A low 1 x signal and no transfer of capacity made WiFi Address Verification impossible.  We have placed the 9630 inside a car a block away - where the signal 1 x has 4 bars - and the redirector verified address of transfer.  I sure hope Telus is able to improve their network here - slow, weak and full of blind spots!

You can use this downloaded installer file, but treat differently (= rather than let it all go sort of aotomatic, you will be advised to install it manually). Please read:

  • BlackBerry Desktop Manager Smartphones downgrades Docs to Go - Premium

Hello: I have a problem with Desktop Manager downgrading Docs-to-Go - premium v1.007 to v1.006.053.  Dataviz which makes the Docs to Go says on their site that earlier versions of Office Mr. had this problem to downgrade but that BlackBerry had solved the problem with DM 4.7.  When I upgraded to 4.7 DM because the program would not downgrade Docs to Go, but recently when I tried to install the software on my BB Tour 9630 Desktop 4.7 M began downgrading Docs to Go Premium v1.007 to v1.006.053.   I've upgraded Deskitop M to 5.0 and it also downgrdes Docs to Go to the old version.   Anyone has an idea why M Desktop is without downgrading my Docs to go to and older version and how can I go to try to solve the problem?   Thanks: Jon

Have you applied your package of peripheral carriers OS to your PC (at the top of DTM)? You can find that here:

The device operating system package changes the DTM basic installation that is appropriate for your BB to your carrier... that would have some version of the ToGo applications that frees your carrier. If Yes, you may have to substitute the DTM installation by moving the files of cod for your version of ToGo in the operating system package install so that DTM will recognize your version of ToGo applications.

  • BlackBerry Desktop Manager Smartphones resets my home screen image

I have an image that is stored on the memory of the device, not a memory card, and whenever I have sync it with my computer, it resets it to the standard AT & T back.

Is there a way to stop this?  It's annoying to have to change my background every time that I synchronize.

Also, how can I activate bluetooth sync with Desktop Manager?  It is grayed out when I try to click on the box.

    Thank you...

    Hi adg44

The background is changed because you have the image stored in the camera, move it to the memory card and solve you the problem.

Read this link to synchronize using bluetooth.

If you are on XP, make sure that you log in to the system with an account that has full administrative rights.

If you're on Vista, start the installation with "Run As Administrator".

If you are upgrading an earlier version, try a clean uninstall first:

  • BlackBerry 8320 of Smartphones Software install - does not recognize port

Try to download a software to save a 8320. Installation is fine (I disable the antivirus and run the file as an administrator to avoid any problem). It goes very well through the installation. To start the wizard and then the device-centric application, the first screen is the portal through which the device connects to the computer. The drop down menu is black and her box 'find the portal' is faded and cannot be used.

I tried several downloads and several portals, but nothing changes this screen.

Hello and welcome to the Forums of Support BlackBerry.com.

Step 1: You have installed Desktop Manager by using the option "Desktop Redirector".

If you are not using redirector, you must uninstall Desktop Manager, and then reinstall it using the BlackBerry Internet Service option.

Step 2: On your device, go to: Options > Advanced > maintenance book and remove any service books for [office]

  • BlackBerry smartphone how to install desktop redirector

OK, I'm lost here, I tried it on several PC, same results - I'm never asked to install the Desktop Redirector for Outlook.

    I followed these instructions-

    http://www.BlackBerry.com/BTSC/microsites/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB16236&SLIC...

Step 9 never comes to the top. I selected 'work' - selected 'Outlook' then it bypasses step 9 and goes directly to the final stage. What I'm doing wrong here?

So much worse... apparently even thought the step never came, it was installed in the background.

  • Emails from Outlook to Smartphones blackBerry - BIS vs Desktop Redirector - which is best?

Okay, I need advice from someone who's been there-done-that.

I've read tons of posts on Outlook email sync and now I am totally confused.

I do not have a BES and I need to sync my email to work wireless (calendar would be nice too, but I won't get it gourmand) for my 8110.

What is the best option: BIS or Desktop Redirector?

    Can someone give me advice?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello!

Well, better judgment, IMHO - is so subjective to every persons wishes. But here are a few facts that may help you choose.

The two methods only provide you with email OTA - you need to use captive sync for the rest.

BIS - your business email must have a compatible Internet email interface (for example, OWA, POP, IMAP) and must not use an ISA device. If you can already get your email from the company from a PC that faces the gross internet (for example, without going through a VPN tunnel), then it is most likely that the BIS may work.

Desktop Redirector - this requires a PC to be left on all the time, connected to your corporate email (whether inside your corporate network or via VPN tunnel), so that it can get new emails and send them to your BB.

My preference goes BIS since it requires not just always on the PC (which can easily have a hiccup any who needs attention practice to rectify). But that's my preference.

    Hope that helps!

  • Email for blackBerry Smartphones application is greyed out on BlackBerry desktop software.

I have the Blackberry desktop software version 4.5 installed on my computer. I can't access the E-mail application because it is grayed out. When I try to access it I get an error message "this computer does not have his account address message. The messaging system is not configured properly or this e-mail system is not supported. "I use outlook for my email. I have a BlackBerry Curve 8330. It is updated with version 4.5. The software recognizes the phone. All other programs are available.

It's on a computer at home?  It seems that you have installed the desktop using the BES software / redirector option.  Redirector is designed to work with a server exchange; If you are using your home PC with a POP/IMAP e-mail address, the best solution would be to reinstall the Desktop Manager using BIS (located in the Setup Wizard), and then use the Blackberry Internet Service to configure your POP/IMAP e-mail.  With this configuration, you will over see the e-mail settings icon because it will no longer apply.  When you use the redirector on a computer that is not on an exchange server, you can receive messages on your device that say "this message is used to carry data between the blackberry and the server... ", which can be quite annoying.
