BlackBerry smartphone security Wipe and Simm card

If I do a wipe secturity, but do not check 'media card', it will always wipe the contacts in my simm card?

Do I have to remove the simm first card and then perform the wipe (will I be able to do)?

Thank you.

wipe does not affect the SIM card

  • BlackBerry smartphone security wipe with any BIS - bbm

Hi guys, I've changed my blackberry for an iphone, so I cancelled my BIS and changed my tarrif plan towards an iphone one. I removed the SIM card, so the phone says insert sim card and SOS signal. I then went through and deleted my bbm contacts after it made a complete security wipe, and I came back to the blackberry. It went well and everything was clear.

But a couple of my friends said im still on BBM out there but when contact lists they me message that they get an 'X' red beside the message were it should be a D or R. I was wondering how I'm still on lists here if I deleted all the and safety wiped? Is it because I did it when there was no ENCORE for the blackberry could not send data on the servers of remove me contacts? If so what will happen when the next person gets my phone and BIS it will automatically synchronize what I did and remove me from my friends BBM?

    Help, please

    Thank you

Right, red x means that the message has not been sent because the contact does not exist. If she sent the message, the friend would simply see a message sent without D or R beside the message. If the messages have been received by the other device, it would show a D as delivered, but of course the message is not delivered to your old BlackBerry.

  • BlackBerry smartphone security wipe on bb curve 8520

Hello everyone, I had a question about the erasure of BlackBerry security.

I wonder if during the erasure of security ('emails, conctats etc.' and 'user installed applications' checkboxes checked) my sms messages will be deleted...

I have to take my camera to a friend, do you find security secure erase?

Yes, security wipe is the sure way to rid your system of all it's data. Do not remove the installed user applications as the wipe will erase the data in applications, but not applications. However, you can delete the user installed applications if you wish.

  • BlackBerry Z10 security wipe and downloaded applications

I know that if I do a security wipe, you erase all downloaded apps, but that those I paid a small fee for (for example, euro 1-2), I have to pay again?

If you connect (setup) your Z10 using the same BlackBerryID you access again without having to pay for the same applications.

  • BlackBerry smartphone security wipe, lack of features

    Hi people,

Has just been given a Curve 8520 by my son, lucky me. When he gave it to me, he had all of its parameters to another network and wifi. So I thought it would be easier to do a thorough cleaning and start a new one.

However, since doing so I have no e-mail setup and no option to update software or wifi. "" I tried to download the new software, but it happens in the ' Check for updates screen "and goes no further. I have to close and restart the computer. I left it running for more than 3 hours thinking that it can work, but nothing helped. I tried with the desktop running and without, with and without sim card software.

    Someone has any ideas

    Hello

It is also likely that these features are absent because the device must be connected to the BlackBerry network.  Go to Options > Advanced Options > host Routing Tables, press the BB Menu key and select Save now.  Who will be re - register your device on the network BlackBerry and should download the necessary info to get your device will.  Be aware that you will have a BlackBerry data plan on your device to do this, so be sure that it is set up in advance.  If this is not the case, contact your carrier to do it for you.

Once this is done, you may also send your service books.  The steps above should display your e-mail settings, and once it goes to the e-mail settings, connect to BIS (if necessary), press the BB Menu key and select Service books.  You can then return your Service books.

Note: If this still does not work, you may need to reload the OS.  If you must go this route try the procedure described here:

    You should get operational!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones do a security wipe and now cannot set up my email!

    Hello

I did a security wipe on my Blackberry Bold 9900. I managed to restore everything, however I can't seem to configure my email address (which is a Yahoo address). I get the error message that it has not been possible to connect to the server.

I also raise a problem with my BBM, I am able to send messages, but can't send any to me. This problem also comes after clearing security.

Everything worked fine prior to clearing security.

    Concerning

Hello and welcome to the community!

After an update, I still propose that the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message to your BB to come...) Please wait for this before moving on to the next step):

    (1) registry HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network

    (2) Service reference books

    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service

    (3) restart to take batt

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If this isn't the case, then you must seek formal support from your mobile service provider.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones user name and password reset email

Hi, I recently updated my phone and my husband is now to have my Blackberry.  However, I don't remember my user name or password to connect to change the e-mail address with the.  Can someone help me.  I called O2 who cannot help you.  My husband is with TMobile and they cannot help either.  I am now at a loss.  Is there a reset button so we can delete data that is on the phone?

    cldanks wrote:

Is there a reset button so we can delete data that is on the phone?

    Sorta, Yes.

You can wipe the device of all your personal information and get back to almost a factory as parameters... Options > Security > Security > Security Wipe.

If your phone is locked to O2, and he uses it on Tmoible, it will have to be unlocked for use on another carrier. See instructions and the links below.

Then, he will need the BlackBerry data Plan on his Tmobile account and have registered for use on Tmobile THAT PIN/IMEI device. You must have the device PIN and IMEI released from your OS account.

    Good luck.

To determine whether your BlackBerry is already "unlocked":
    1. on your BlackBerry, go to Options > Advanced Options > Sim Card.
    2. in this screen type MEPD (see note below) on your keyboard. A new menu will appear.
    3. search for the network in the list.
    4. If your device is "unlocked", we should have disabled or inactive. If it says active, it is still blocked by this carrier.

If you need instructions on how to unlock your BlackBerry for use on a
carrier other than that to which it is brand, check out BlackBerry
    Unlocks him
it of full trust and know to release me from the seller.

and read this link for instructions.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Q10 Wipe

Well, something so simple turned into a nightmare! When I got my phone a couple of weeks, that my e-mail address has been struggling entered for the Blackberry ID, he didn't until I tried to download an application. So I called the customer service and the person on the other end told me the only way to fix is a security wipe. So this knuckle head me back up my data after be adjusted for the Blackberry link to my office, I record the date, then he told me to wipe it. The phone died and I realized that there is a big problem, he failed to tell me it was a total reset, I thought it was just for contacts and passwords and other data. So now, all is lost, apparently, after talking to another agent of customer service, which I was disconnected after a 2 + hour wait when my phone restarted. I'm more than 3 hours now and the phone has not been restarted, is this normal, and how long does it take? Should I get the customer service on the phone again after he ends, or can I start fresh just like when the phone was new and put up again? I'm new to Blackberry phones and certainly have not had a good experience so far.

As you describe a wipe will only wipe personal data, applications, contacts, preferences, calendar, etc. and should not perform that you described.

Please do this, remove the battery for and leave for 5 minutes, reinsert and see if it restarts. Please keep that it plugged into the wall charger during this operation.

If it does not restart the device, see this: How to reload your OS Blackberry10

Try steps 1 through 11 in the instructions.

  • BlackBerry smartphone security wiping deleted my whole apps of My World!

I have a bold 9700 and recently she got really really REALLY slow, to the point where, by pure blind frustration I went to the options screen and did security wipe for all third party applications, I thought it would be just deleted from my phone but it deleted my whole app in app world as well which means I can't reinstall one of them.

I paid for some applications like Shazam Encore and Bejoose I really don't want to have to pay again, is there a way I could get back them?

Hello and welcome to the community!

AW servers must always making... I suggest that you clear the cache of the application on the device AppWorld:

    1. open the App World

    2. go to my world

    3. follow one (and only one!) of these steps:

    3. for the BB keyboard-oriented - hold down the ALT key and press on, in the sequence R, then S, then T

3B. for touch screen only BBs - hold the num-lock (! 123 button) so that it hangs and then press on, in the sequence 3, then 4, then)

    3 c for the most recent (e, g., OS6 and 7) BB s, see this KB:

    • KB24714 How to clear the cache of BlackBerry App World

    4 AppWorld must close

    5. If your BB locks after issuing clear cache, do a battery pull reboot

    6. return to AppWorld (it can be slow, while it re - sync). Connect to MyWorld (if necessary - it will take your BB ID username and password this time; it's not remember your BB ID username after a clear the cache), and then try again.

If the step (4) and (6) do not occur as indicated, then the empty the cache did not work.

I hope it'll work for you! Good luck and let us know!

After his contacts on the PC, I'll make sure that you have installed 4.7 DTM and go to the command line

type: cd c:\program files Research in motion\apploader enter

    type: enter loader.exe /resettofactory

This should remove the policy from IT previous of the device and wipe the device then you can resync everything back to the device.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones really stuck and need help guys!

OK so here is my problem, my sister gave me her blackberry 9900 like shes got the new iphone.

So heres where my problems began.

I put my sim card from his cell phone and lit,

Then around the top came the blackberry id so I clicked on logout and he says that, as the SIM card changed id to do a wipe, so he says type blackberry words to wipe it is what I did.

So after where it says "Please wait while your device is to be wiped" or some thing in the lines, he went to a white screen and did nothing like 5 minutes so I decided to take out the battery and put it back in to see if it works, I pressed the power button and the word BlackBerry with blackberry sign came and the loading bar white bit at the bottom and after the white line at the bottom of loading had finished he went to a white screen, once again, only this time with a percentage of thing, when it hit 100% he exploded and reloaded at the part where once again the word blackberry and sign is there and the white line at the bottom of loading and now it moves not in this page , Well it does exactly is after completing loading (white line goes all the way to the top) it goes to a black screen and then did the same thing again and again the word line and white blackberry in the background load, and then he goes out and does the same thing over and over again.

So I read a few messages from people and reading plug in to pc and charge Blackberry desktop manager what I did and it recognizes the phone but on the up coming Desktop Manager "blackberry desktop software can communicate with the device", I clicked on update, then repair but nothing happens just goes back to not to communicate with the phone while the phone is the same * beep * thing blackberry Word with the sign beside him, loading bar at the bottom will fill then restarts and does the same thing over and over again!

    Please help guys!

It's done I did it and it has automatically updated the phone and it works perfectly now, thanks

  • BlackBerry Smartphones security issue

I have set a password for my phone, but to add extra security to the SIM card should he be taken and used by another device. Is it possible to get?

Hello and welcome to the forums!

I don't know, but I think you need to get your SIM card from your provider before following the steps below PIN number:

Go to Options > device > advanced system settings > SIM card.  Press the BB menu button and select enable security.  You will then be asked to enter a PIN code to activate this security feature.

Please see the following for more details:
