  I'll start by saying the "push down and highlight" method has worked for me on the first 20 times.  Now, I think that its just making it worse. I tried to roll/pressing in the same direction and for some reason, I have problems make him down.   I called AT & T, and they sent me a refurbished phone. The package, they sent me included all done, a new phone. New battery, new case, charger, new everything, even the phone itself was in perfect condition. Not a scratch or ding on it.  Total cost was $ 12 for FedEx shipping, and they pay to my old phone in return of mail.

  If anyone out there has problems with their phone as if I were I recommend this. I have been very reluctant to give up my "BOLD", but after receiving this new one I have no regrets.  With Desktop Manager, I went to my normal use of BB in a few minutes.  Thank you AT & T.

  Sorry to hear that you are having problems with your trackpad.

  To clarify, it doesn't seem to stop the scrolling upwards or downwards when you are in the Messages folder and WhatsApp? On the main home screen you are able to navigate vertically?

  Did you do a restart again by removing the battery?

  Try to perform a Diagnostic self test, as shown in KB16037 using the Self Test application on the BlackBerry smartphone to test the response of the trackpad.

  First, check the scrolling settings in the advanced settings of Touchpad.

  If they are enabled, uninstall the mouse/keyboard 3rdparty as Logitech or Microsoft and Watcom drivers that may have installed you.

  If it's no good, uninstall the Toshiba touchpad driver, then download and install the latest version.

  Mine won't scroll upward.  I had the phone for 6 days (it was a replacement).  I took batery out, soft and tried recipes "recycling the ball" as mentioned in a few posts.  I would like in ball and move toward its does not work, so I tried the holding in ball and moving in all directions just as many times.

  I just got my BB Storm yesterday and maybe return.  I found that some software does not work on it because she needs another way to scroll and I can't use it without a trackball.   Today the trackball on my 8220 steadily to go to the right.  I go to a T-Mobile tomorrow store to swap out.  Physically, it moves to the right.  My fingers sliding on top but the ball doesn't move.  It works well to go left or up and down, but not right.  It's discouraging.  I've been playing with it, learn how a BlackBerry works and finally get the hang of it.

  Is it something unusual or are they subject to rupture?  I don't want to go back, but I can't have a phone that breaks.

  You can search the forums, use the grey search button to find that while he doesn't

  I bought my 8800 1 year, 2 months ago - ideally past the 1 year warranty.  My trackball works in all directions except for left which seems very strange.  It is impossible to call the RIM without them charge me something to talk with them and Cingular / AT & T says there is nothing they can do that the phone is no longer under warranty.  Any ideas?

  The same thing happened to me. My trackball moved to the top, left and right... but not down. Big problem! So I google "blackberry trackball" and found this link useful:

  I took mine such share as specified in the instructions and cleaned the "wheels" - and it works fine now. Hope this helps.
