BlackBerry Smartphones an alarm disabling

My daughter has this alarm that looks like a radio which continues to go off at 04:00 everymorning. I'm not familiar with the curve and would like to know how to turn it off. Anyone with any suggestions?  Thank you... Steve

First try to simply turn off the alarm to wake up the device. Find the icon of the clock application, open it, press Menu > Set Alarm and turn off the power.

She could also have a recurring schedule notification. Open the calendar and 04:00.

Cela why you and not your daughter?

Hello and welcome to the community!

From what you describe, there is a COMPUTER on your BB policy which is demanding both encryption and a password for the device-lock. If you are currently on the BES, then STOP NOW and see your BES admins they control it.

If you are not on BES, somehow your BB has a COMPUTING policy... the cause maybe it was once associated with BES, but not properly deleted when the property was transferred to you. If all goes well, there will be other problems that often comes with "2nd hand" situations. In any case, you can check this:

    • KB30076 How to check for an it on a BlackBerry smartphone policy

Even if does not appear as described, from what you have described, there is probably a COMPUTER policy that is causing this (some may be "hidden"). To remove it, first make sure you have a good backup of your BB... See the link in my sig auto on this post for instructions. Then do this:

    • KB31291 How to reset a BlackBerry smartphone to factory using BlackBerry Desktop Software Settings

Thereafter, your BB will be as new... you need to re - install your applications and restore your data (according to the backup you took my instructions above). BUT - when you restore data, DO NOT make a full restore... rather, only restore these databases you need (e.g., Contacts, calendar, Messages, etc.) and more precisely to avoid those who have nothing to do with the COMPUTER policy, company or similar things... If you restore, you will be right where you started.

Good luck and let us know!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones unable to disable the alarm on Bold 9700

On the 'page' clock, there is a red symbol that looks like a BB or a keyboard & there 09:00 there too... I went into the settings of the alarm & have been unable to remove this alarm. I don't know what it is.   Also, on the homepage, there is a tiny clock symbol. Can someone help me with this?

There are two types of clocks on the BB - ordinary alarm clock and a daily wake which is defined by the calendar. Here's how to solve each of them...

    Ordinary clock radio:

    1. In the clock, press the Menu key.
    2. Click set alarm.
    3. On the trackpad, slide your finger upward or down to select. Drag your finger to highlight on or weekdays.
    4. Press the ESC key.
    5. Click Save.

Daily wake-up (remove an appointment, meeting, or alarm):

    1. In the home screen, click the calendar icon.
    2. Highlight an appointment, meeting, or alarm.
    3. Press the Menu key.
    4. Click on delete.

For the latter, you will have to switch to daily view to see any alarms on the list.

Go to the clock icon, press the menu key and select alarm. scrolling and forts of the party 'on', use the scroll ball to change it on OFF or during the WEEK. Once you have navigated to Monday to Friday, press the trackball and it will save it.

  • BlackBerry smartphone how to disable internet via the network, but leave the wi - fi on?

    Hi all

I'm new to Blackberry but love until now.  I have a questionette for you to wizzo on something that left me speechless:

My rate is not all internet at all (I'm only a poor pensioner!), but it seems that installation is there for me to use it if I do not pay attention if I want to turn it off permanently while installing wi - fi on.  This was possible on my android, but I gave to my wife because the screen is not too sensitive to my skin.  I got the Blackberry the the guy in the store where I bought it, but all he has done is disable data completely so now I can't use it on WiFi either.

Can you tell me if this is possible and if so, how?

    Thanks in advance.

As long as your data Services (under manage connections > Mobile Network Options) are lit, you will receive data via Wi - Fi.  When you turn on your Mobile network, you are turning ON the ability to receive calls and texts.  If you do not require these two features to be active (and therefore guarantee 100% that you use not any network data), then let your off Mobile network.  As you said, leaving the disabled Mobile network is similar to airplane mode.

I hope that clears up any confusion.  Please post back if I'm not understanding something.

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not disable my password

Hello, I'm new I the Board of Directors, the 8530 for sprint, I recently upgraded to 5.0.0.654 (1108).  When I did I don't have the ability to disable the password for my blackberry.  It is always enabled, there is grey.  It's my third blackberry and I don't have something like this happen to me before.

Also just a background, it is my personal cell phone does not work, so I do not use company, I don't know what could have caused this... advice?

Have not heard of that one before. The only way I know not at all reset back to default values without being on a BES is to use jl cmdr, or you try to run the resettofactory switch.

If you want to try the latter. first back up the data on your device using the Desktop Manager software. Then follow the steps in this KB article

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not disable the device password!

I was playing with my Storm the weekend and decided to apply a password to the device. Now I can't turn it off and I hate that I am constantly asked for her. When I go to 'Options', then 'password' it has not the ability to disable the password feature. The toggle button at the top of the password page is soft gray with a tiny tiny red lock next to her and I can't click on the button. The only thing I can do is to change the password. Any suggestions? !!

I solved my problem. I did a reset of the handset and that got rid of the option activate the password. However, when I did a backup of subsequent restoration of the handset, I was careful to choose only what I wanted really saved (address book, calendar, etc.). If oyu make a full backup that you will get the active password once you restore again.

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not disable password on my 9320 curve smartphone

    Hello

To protect my phone against unauthorised access, I activated the password on my 9320 curve, so that it hangs after 5 minutes. It works well so far.

Today, I tried to sync my data with my PC via the BB desktop software. Now, this desktop application asks for the password, but does not accept the password that I entered into my phone.

I tried to disable the password protection by clearing the checkbox 'Activate' on the phone, but I can't do that (I can't click the "Enable" box, it remains checked with a lock symbol). I can change the password, but the BB desktop on my pc application does not accept the new password.

Any idea anyone? Help would be much appreciated!

    Best regards

    Chris

Hello and welcome to the community!

I think you have two distinct problems...

Desktop software rejecting your password entry.

The password requested by Desktop software and the password you assigned to lock your BB are indeed the same password. But what I suspect is that you have a mix of different characters in your device password and you may not notice how you enter on the keyboard of the BB. For example, if your password

    • AB123

    and if you enter

    • a > b > ALT > 1 > 2 > 3

    the result will be

    • ab1er

    You must enter

    • a > b > ALT > 1 > ALT > 2 > ALT > 3

in order to close with ab123. Thus, in this example, while on the BB keyboard, you think you type ab123, you actually type ab1er.

On your BB, when you type your password, you should get a moment where each character is indicated in clear before it turns into a *. Watch carefully next time and you will see a surprising result. It will be the exact characters that you type on the keyboard of your PC, because it is in fact your password.

Lock symbol on the device password, cannot clearly 'enable' setting.

There are generally two reasons that the locking device password becomes necessary (this is what means small lock symbol).

    (1) you are part of BES or have IT on board strategy that forces the requirement. Given what you describe on when you created the password, I doubt that this is the case, but... If that were the case, you would never have a choice... the first time you used your device, you would have had to create a device lock password. If, by any chance, you are part of BES, then go see your BES admins regarding if they force this situation.

    (2) you have, after activation of the device lock password, activate encryption or the Protection of the content on your device. Once you activate those, they require the device lock password to operate. For example, you can't delete the device lock password until you have first removed encryption or Protection of the contents of your device.

    Good luck!
