• BlackBerry Smartphones Newbie - OS 9000 plz help

  Hi there-

  I am new to BB (and the forums!) so please bear with me :-)

  My BB is through labour and was transmitted in me when my supervisor got a new.  now, I discovered it's a BB 9000.

  my current OS is 4.6.0.162 (Platform 4.0.0.155) and my carrier is Rogers (Canada)...

  When I took the Rogers store when I had last summer, the girl told me that the operating system was obsolete, but I never tried to look at him so far.

  I just plugged it in to the software update, but it says that there is no new OS for my camera.

  I had problems with the stall warning tones and think that an update would help (pulling the battery usually helps during a little while)... but then read the thread having to downgrade to (or?) OS 5 because it is the origin of the problem.

  could someone please tell me what I need to do (updated or not?  who... 5 or 6?)  and where / how I can do or find instructions to do?  I don't have a COMPUTER service to do and am fairly tech-able... it is for me.

  From a PC, you can install any bundle of BONES to a BB via this procedure:

  Note that although written for "reload", it can be used to upgrade, downgrade, or recharge - it depends on the OS package you download and install on your PC. You can even use a different OS package carriers simply insert, between steps 1 and 2, the deletion, on your PC, a file named PROVIDER. XML. remember that you remove from your PC, no matter what other packages devices OS BB as having more than one installed on the PC can cause conflicts with this procedure.

  If you are on a MAC, you are limited to only your sanctioned carriers OS packages... but can still use any level they currently have to sanction. See this procedure:

  In regard to what you should or should not do, it's really a personal decision. There are major changes in the OS 4.x to 5.x and 6.x again. It becomes a matter of what you like and what you can get used to. My personal opinion is still update if it is available and never expect any device technology to be perfect.

  It is limited only by your application memory space. So basically no limitations.

  I know that some users with more than 10,000, with more 20 000.

  I don't have that many friends, only those close to the Marsh, perhaps count beavers, 12-15 at the most.

  It could be one of the three solutions... Try these:

  1. make sure that you set your own country code to the Phone Dialer screen > Options > smart dialing.
  Set your country code in this format: "+ xx" where xx = country code. Some countries have two or three-digit country Codes. Do not place not the '+' in the entrance of your contact.
  * In the United States, the value of this country as '+ 1' Code and place your local area code in the appropriate box (this normally the default setting in a new BB).

  2. in the same place, change the length of National number for the number of digits corresponding to your country (since some countries have less than 10 as that set by default in the BB). Check out the total numbers, less country code. Do not place not the '+' in the entrance of your contact.
  * For example, some countries have a total number to 8 (more than 3 for the country code). You must enter '8 '.

  3. you probably have "Content Protection" located on your address book.
  Look at the Options > Security > General settings. Scroll down to the content Protection > include addresses = no

• BlackBerry Smartphones Google Maps, questions and issues

  So, today is the first time I used my gps on my storm, and my first opportunity to use google maps.

  Everything worked fine except a few things that made my trip to find a little difficult doctors Office and the pop up text that tells you which way to turn, Center of the screen about the location and map scroll.

  When you have a path (= a list of points), the application has no way of understanding, you pass by a point. If I rephrase what you want:
  "whenever you pass a point, you want an update so that the remaining path does not include the above"
  and rephrase so the application can run:
  "whenever you pass a point, you want the calculated again way to take into account your position."
  Since there is no way of knowing when that happens "all weather", necessarily becomes what you ask for:
  "update the path to destination in a frequent manner"

  It is of course possible, but very tedious for the device I guess. It is easier for a GPS device that has infinite energy (= powered by car).

• BlackBerry Smartphones turn off the wireless feature

  Is there a way to quickly turn off the features "BOLD" wireless, so I can not transmit or receive?  I would use it in the aircraft on a trip, but I can't find a way to quickly turn off the transmission and receive the device characteristics.  Thank you.

  Or if you go in manage connections, choose the first choice disable all connections, or just uncheck the Mobile network.

  Hi all

  I have a few questions about GPS on the storm. I use Google Maps for GPS, but I noticed that without a signal (on very remote locations where the signal from the phone is very low), I can't use Google maps. My first question is, the GPS on the storm depends on the signal from the phone?

  Also, I tried to download maps of BB, but I get the 'funny' opinion: "sorry, your device does not meet the system requirements that are needed for the suport BB Maps. My storm running the last update, what makes this mean agree? Is it possible that I can not download maps because I am in South America?

  Finally, while playing music, I don't repeat just a single song (over and over again, until I get tired of it..) I can't find the way, given that the repeat option only works for a playlist or album.

• My Torch 9800 blackBerry smartphones fails after downlowding wireless version 6.0

  I need to reinstall the version 6.0. I made the mistake of downloading on my Torch 9800 and something went wrong since now my contacts do not sync via the server of my company. Other functions freeze when try to use them. I spent hours on the phone with AT & T, later with the DataSet and finally BlackBerry directly. The last BB technician sent to open http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB11320 so that I can perform a cleanup of recharge of the BlackBerry Device Software for Windows. I followed these instructions carefully. When you choose to update my device, which should give me the option of recharging, he said simply that there is no new update. AT & T call is a waste of time because they want to do throughout the whole procedure (hours) or I get emails telling me that I must have the wrong version!

  I use 9000 "BOLD" and it's my first BB device. I don't have the card memory, and I want to transfer media files like songs and video from another mobile device to mine. I want to transfer these files to the internal memory of 1 GB that has "BOLD". But when I try to transfer the file 'File too large' error message. I managed to transfer photo about 200 KB by Bluetooth, but I don't know what the problem with larger files. Is there a fix to this problem

  I have momory card and I have no intention of buying one because that 1 GB of storage in the camera is a good enough space for me.

  According to this KB, the file size limit is 2.86 MB upwards through devices OS 4.7. I don't know what level you have or if it changes for the higher levels of OS.

For example when I want to type in a bunch of numbers or a bunch of letters, I am struck repeatedly, the digital key or uppercase before each key. I learned to believe there is a way to lock it in. A double-tap does not seem to do.

  1 sleepmode works with a magnet (make sure that you get one is designed for the storm)!  You can try the lock button in the upper left corner of the phone.

  2. If you want to make a bunch of numbers, hold the button that changes the numbers for about 3 seconds and it crashes until you hit it again, he returns to the letters

  After having upgraded to 103 the clock will not display on analog... even if change you it in options.

  I'm a * beep *! I was setting the clock digital... heheheh... I fixed it.
