BlackBerry Smartphones BB Torch no access by e-mail to set up on the replacement phone

I just got my Bb Torch 6800 replaced by orange due to a failure of the touch screen. now when I try to configure my email accounts, it takes me in a screen "current users of ' request that my user name and password. (I guess that means my name of IVS and the password) on entering I get say error message - "the user name is not valid. A user name must be at least 4 characters." So I can't go any further! I know my username and password work as I can log in to the Blackberry web site with them and view my details. I spent 4 hours today with Orange "helpline" and they seem to have an idea as well as me!  Can anyone help?

Hello and welcome to the community!

In fact, what is sounds like is that Orange has not completely shifted all of your services to the replacement device. They do that on their own system... There is nothing you can do on your side. Unfortunately, you will need to persist with them, but be careful what you get scale within their specific BB team, who will have the knowledge and training to solve this problem. If they can't, they can still increase in BlackBerry even more support to get it going. Do not let you fob OFF... you PAY for your services and support, which they do not currently deliver to you.

And then... what of your BBID? That should have been first and would have brought your configuration on the new device. Who is not properly? You would be configured, in the new device, the same references to BB accurate ID you had on the old device...

Good luck!

  • BlackBerry smartphones, I can't access my e-mail account on my Bold 9780

Can you please help me.  I have connected my Bold9780 to my PC and I learned there was an upgrade of the unit and that it would take time.  I turned it off and my computer crashed (power failure). At first everything seemed ok, the upgrade seems to have been successfully installed.

However, I can't send or receive e-mails now.  I tried to reconcile and all, nothing happens.  If I try to access my email via the settings that I just get a message saying "your camera has a problem connecting to the internet" and I gave RETRY or CANCEL I retried load times without success.  The phone and SMS work very well, but I can't access all the apps either as it is just says 'server not found '.

Is it possible to come back to my email or I'll have to go back to factory reset.  I'm an ODP and not very technical which makes it the most annoying for me too!

    Kind regards

    Pat PAO

    Hi, Pat.

Of course, you can retrieve your email service and we will help you with it.  First of all, let's get the service books sent to your phone once again, just in case that's the problem.  From your home screen, go to Options > device > advanced system settings > host Routing Table or Options > Advanced Options > host Routing Table, depending on what operating system your phone is running.  Once on the host Routing Table, press your menu button and select Save now to have the service books sent to your phone.

Try this and post back with your results.

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not get my Office365 e-mail account set up

I have an e-mail account on Microsoft Office 365 (portal.microsoft.com), and I use Vodafone.  I managed to associate this e-mail address with my Blackberry ID.   When I try to add the e-mail address with my camera that I enter the password by e-mail, and after that "processing, please wait...". "if poster for about a minute I get the message"your device had a problem connecting to the server.  Any advice?

Thanks for trying to help.  I don't know if I could have solved it on my own.  I am in contact with our support of the software company who spoke to me through the establishment.  First I had to download an app called "Enterprise Activation" and run, and then enter the details of my e-mail account, including a password that I would not have known. It seems to work now.

Hello and welcome to the community!

There is virtually no diagnosis of those - they are the equivalent of random errors in Windows for which trace the root cause is futile. Basically, here's the last out in the programming code - some event occurred for which there is no event handler in the code. The patch is an update of the code that handles the event... but, again, what is the event is almost impossible. So, there are a few things to try:

Sometimes, the code simply is damaged and needs to be updated - just like a reboot:

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

If it doesn't boot properly, then you need to try Safe Mode:

    • KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in safe mode

There may be a code updated to the value of the carrier - check out them through this Portal:

The toughest possible causes are a bad application behave. To find it, there are two options. Is to see if you can read the log file:

Go to the home screen. Hold down the "alt" key and type "lglg". (You won't see anything as you type). This will bring up the log file. Scroll down (probably a lot of pages) until you see a line that says "eception execption. Click on this line. The application name will be in the info. Alternative methods to implement the newspapers are in this KB:

    • KB05349 How to activate, view, and extract the the event logs on a BlackBerry smartphone

The other method is to remove the apps one at a time, wait a while between the two (I usually recommend a week), until the problem stops... revealing the offending application. Yet another method is to recharge the BB OS itself, leaving little time between the addition of other applications on the BB in order to be able to determine exactly what is the cause.

OK, I can't say enough. But I'm like described KB as a lack of policy is NOT what you have, which means that you have a COMPUTER policy on your device. It's just weird because I've never seen a COMPUTER policy like what you describe, but then of course I have not seen anyone.

So, I think (it's more than that, actually) is that you do indeed have a policy COMPUTER on your device that may well be the reason for the failure of the installation, you encounter.

If it's a working or otherwise associated with certain BES service device, then you need to talk to anyone who provides the BES service on your problem... they control what is the it policy.

If this is not a working device and/or you do not subscribe to any service of BES-level from anyone, then the conjecture is that you have received this camera as previously used, and the previous owner didn't properly clean the it policy, leaving you with a latent policy causing you these problems. To remedy this situation, you must make sure you have a full backup, according to the link in my sig auto on my posts. Then proceed you to this:

    • Article ID: KB31291 How to reset a BlackBerry smartphone to factory using BlackBerry Desktop Software Settings

Once finished, your device will be like new again, with nothing on it... No. data, no added applications, etc. If you continue to restore the backup, do not forget that you DO NOT make a simple full restore... restore instead, only those databases that you need (e.g., contacts, calendar, etc.) and more precisely to avoid any database that have nothing to do with BES, business, political, etc. If you restore that contains the it policy, it he will dutifully restore your BB and you will be right where you are now.

    Good luck!

I hope this will help some of you out there. What I am about to show you will help you easily access your BIS tool for most of the major suppliers. If you are replacing an old appliance with a new blackberry, the link will update your PIN / IMEI automatically in the BIS tool. This will bypass also need to connect via the username / password.

We wish to follow the link from your BlackBerry smartphone: https://bis.na.blackberry.com/wap?brand=(BRAND), where you see (MARK), you want to replace it with your provider.

    Common brands are:

    America:

    VZW (Verizon Wireless)

    TMobile (T-Mobile)

    Sprint (Sprint)

    Canadian:

    Rogers (Rogers)

Once you have done so, you will have full access to check, move the emails etc. You can move / check your emails in any simply hittings the move button next to your emails and entering your password to the E-Mail address.

From what I've seen it works absolutely any BlackBerry model.

In fact, you may be able to retrieve it without the drastic recommendation above. I recommend that you try to start safe mode:

    • KB17877 How to start a smartphone BlackBerry in Mode safe

It will take several attempts to get the combination of keys ESC (press/release/hold) OK, so be patient. When properly in Safe Mode, remove the offending application:

Only in cases where the application has caused corruption OS a full reload of the OS should be demand... but if it's just a bad application behave, Safe Mode will allow you to remove it.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones BB Torch - deletion of files and multiple records

I have over 150 photos in the pictures folder on my Blackberry Torch 9800 and after their import to my PC, I want to delete them from my BB to find memory and space... I can delete these photos one by a sequence of instructions in the Guide, but it is not logical to repeat this step 150 times and there must be a quicker way to go about it.

What I want to do is to remove all the contents of this folder of photos in a single step. I looked on the BB Torch User Guide Ver 6.0 and in help for the BB Desktop Software and that you have not found the instructions on removing entire folders or multiple files in a folder in one step.

Can someone direct me please some instructions or the Support page on the subject.

Welcome to the forums! When you connect the device to the computer, you get three options, one of which is to connect in USB, or mass storage mode. If you choose this option, two windows will usually pop up, offers you the ability to manipulate files on your card or on your device memory. Choose to open the folder to view the files on the memory of your device and you will be able to mass delete your photos like that.

  • BlackBerry smartphone how to configure and use e-mail without BES

    Hello

I'm trying to figure How to configure and use e-mail without using a BES.

I checked with the local telephone company. And the number is not ascociated with any service of BES.

The entry of services show no indication in this sense.

In addition, the configuration of SIM card show that everything is disabled. This means that the phone is unlocked. At least that is my understanding.

However, even after a wipe, the BB device does not set up an e-mail account, as described in the manual. He keeps asking for a BES activation first.

    What will do that disappears?

And to allow the configuration of the "spam"?

Just develop the right answer given by JSanders, you can always access your email accounts and social networks (facebook, twitter, google +, etc) on your phone, you will just have no notifications PUSHED to your phone.  You can access the internet on your phone in order to access these accounts, but it should go to them.  With BlackBerry Internet Service activated on your phone account, RIM will push these notifications of new emails, facebook messages, new tweets etc. for your phone.  That's what you'll be missing out on without active BIS.

I wanted to just make sure that there is no likelihood of confusion.

  • BlackBerry smartphone error synchronizing Calendar using Desktop Manager 4.7, Outlook 2003, on the storm

I just installed Desktop Manager on my PC (Windows XP).

    Contacts sync fine.

    Calendar does not synchronize:

"Schedule of playback device" is fine.

    "Treatment device calendar" is fine.

'Reading of MS Outlook calendar' is where the error occurs:

Desktop Manager starts to read Outlook 988 items and constantly stops at the point #227, with one of the two error messages:

    (1) ' reported Intellisync, unknown error"or

    (2) 'operation ended unexpectedly.'

    I followed the directions for:

How to enable advanced logging for Intellisync because of the failure of the synchronization to the BlackBerry smartphone

    to

    http://www.BlackBerry.com/BTSC/microsites/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB01451&SLIC...

This operation required that I change the iloptcfg.cfg file.

    Still no luck. any suggestions?

around on this issue... the only way I found to fix this was to reset the device completely and synchronize "fresh" from my computer. Note: has happened since then, and every time that it is when I use the camera to change a recurring APPT. For now, my lessons learned: whenever I need to edit or delete a recurring appt, I do it from the computer so I do not get locked out of sync to the storm.

  • BlackBerry smartphones, what will happen if I restore my OLD BB data in the new system of BB?

I'm planing to change my BB device, my BB Curve 9360 for BB Curve 9220.

My question is that if I backup that my old data from my Curve 9360 then restore it in the new one, BB Curve 9220 will I have my BB PIN remain the same as in my Curve 9360 ot I have to use a new one in the curve 9220?

Can I put the 9220 Curve with the latest OS from my BB Curve 9360?

Are there opportunities that I could use my old BB PIN in my BB Curve 9360 instead of the new?

Thank you: to vname in my Vns

If you bought a pin code customized for BBM you can keep that. However, the BlackBerry pin code does not change. There is a white label under the battery that has your PIN on it. No way to change that.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones unable to connect to new ISP Mail

    Hi all

I recently moved my e-mail from one ISP to another domain. I've updated my e-mail except for my Blackberry Pearl (Vodafone UK) client. On that note, I deleted the original mail account and went on the establishment of a 'new' but he always comes back "we were not able to find the e-mail domain: mydomain." Please check the information and try again. I tried this on the device and the browser. I used the quick method, as well as manual methods any longer.

Are there clues/advice? As I told my other clients such as OUtlook picked up the new domain and that the change occurred there is ~ 36 hours I guess the DNS changes would be fully propagated.

    Thanks in advance.

    Alex

Solved. I tried again earlier this afternoon, and it worked.  I guess it was just the speed of DNS change propagation to servers on Vodafone. More patience next time!

    Thanks for your help
