BlackBerry Smartphones BBM / Email

Since the installation of BBM on my Pearl 9105 I get more emails that are always passed by before.  I can send but not receive so I tried to delete my email addresses and their resettlement, but does worse now I can't send or receive!  If anyone can help I would be very grateful!  Thank you

PS - do not let you fob off the coast. Too often, we hear on this site of things as "my provider told me I had to contact RIM. If they say something like that, it's baloney!

End users have no free method to contact RIM. On the contrary, the carrier is responsible for ALL frontline support for issues related to the service and can degenerate into RIM free of charge for the end-user, the case that they carrier cannot solve. So, if they don't tell 'contact you RIM', push a little... maybe with "OK, please tell me exactly how" and see how they react. The only proper response is for the carrier to prosecute and it degenerate into RIM. Everything else is not correct.

Oh... a little modified ammo... If they say that, think of it this way... you PAY for your services? No RIM! You pay your carrier... and are contractually committed to provide you with the services and support, including escalation in the RIM if necessary. That's what you pay for.

    I have a purple blackberry 8530smokey, my carrier is Verizon. I can't receiving and sending any type of message(bbm/email/text) during a phone call.  When I hang up ALL my message come flow (I guess I should be happy, they come in all).  Initially, all the messages are in silently so I adjusted it so that I would be notified when a message arrives.  I've removed since then, but I still have the problem.  Any advice?

    Also while at work, I changed the ringtone to silence, but all my messages my phone may make noise, I assumed that when I made the phone silent I assumed all messages/calls would be silenced.  I was incorrect?

    Anyway, any advice would be appreciated.

    This is how it works for 3G Verizon service.

    If you were on the WiFi, they then came on the phone.

    For notifications, looks like you set exceptions on the profile that allow notification while sounds on silent profile.

  • Suddenly blackBerry Smartphones BBM Voice Chat does not work on Bold 9900

    First of all, I got wifi bars on my phone.  It is also on my home network and networking.

    I can not access to voice chat BBM. I always grey Bard at the top right of my status that says: "cannot establish your voice chat connection."

    With a network carrier signal strong, I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message from your BB... ( Please wait for this before moving on to the next step) :

    (1) registry HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network
    • Please wait a 'registration' message reach your Messages application

    (2) Service reference books

    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    • Please wait "the Activation' Messages, one per already configured e-mail account, arrive in your Messages. If you have not already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

    (3) restart to take batt

    • With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

    I hope that will move things again for you! If this isn't the case, then you should contact your mobile provider for formal support.

    Was wondering if someone could help me, I'm going crazy! I got a blackberry torch for awhile now which i had bought in England, I live in Spain since September and have used the wifi in my house here in bbm and use all applications, etc. I've recently returned to England to visit and returned to Spain yesterday and connected to my wifi but my bbm, email and fb and all other applications do not work, but I can connect to the browser! I tried different things to make it work again, for example, draws on the battery, taking sim in and out, making sure the data service is on! The wi fi is certainly connected as the signal in the right corner bar is white! Anyone know how to make it work again, he always worked completely fine!

    You are able to use BBM before this update without any problem?

    If you are then try reinstalling BBM who may help, do that on your homescreen go to Options > device > application management > delete BlackBerry Messenger in the list.

    KB10040  : How to display or remove installed application on a blackberry smartphone   

    After deletion to perform a battery pull reboot by removing the battery while your unit is powered and then wait a min.  and reinsert back.

    Your device can take a long restart, then use your BlackBerry browser and navigate to www.blackberry.com/bbmdownload and the most recent available for your device. After reinstalling see if that helps

    I have been using everything ok through POP3 email on my blackberry for the last six months and then all of a sudden yesterday asked me to check the password that I tried to do it but the only message I get, is that my user name or password is invalid.  This is not the case, as I am with the same username and password on outlook and my Ipad and these work perfectly. Can anyone help?

    We had a problem with our email on Wednesday, it is now sorted and the passwords have not been changed.

    I tried the hard reset, tried to set up online service, free books works and still will not accept the good user name and the password.  It's driving me crazy!

    My Blackberry Torch was stolen recently.  Now that I got my new camera and everything seemed to work OK.  I received emails addressed to it and who is "pushed".  I tried to download an app and had my Blackberry ID need I entered.  She would not accept my new password - so I asked to reset - but the email they were supposed to be sent to my blackberry address did not!  Does anyone have ideas, what can I do now?

    Oh okay Ouch, the using the blackberry.net email account is not good. These emails cannot be found or read any where, but on the BlackBerry smartphone.

    Personally, I never recommend using blackberry.net for this main reason e-mail accounts.

    My best suggestion is to get a gmail or yahoo account for free and create a whole new BlackberryID.

    Then, call your mobile operator Orange and ask them to bring this problem to RIM level two level tech support and get your old account merged or moved to the new BlackBerryID.

    Yes, it's complicated. But it's the only way I see possible... all this because of the password reset. Yuck, indeed.

    • Peripheral BB10. Hold the top button until the counter reaches zero. Wait for the unit to be completely stopped (for example, nothing appears on the screen, no lights, etc.). Hold the top button until the red light. Wait through the entire boot process. IF this fails, you can try the method of battery-pull above, but it is normally NOT recommended unless nothing else works.
    • See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones BBM resources missing files

    After a recent upgrade of my BBM icon label changed to net.rim.bb and when I click to send a BBM I get tell screen: Eception missing Exception of resource files.  How can I fix this?  I am running OS 6.0 Bundle 2647.

    Unlike your old model HTC, BlackBerry smartphones require a BlackBerry data Plan or Plan BIS. You will need to call your operator and ask for the service to be added before BBM could be used.

    I've updated BBM from version 7 to 7.0.1. After the reboot, I found that my BBM was gone. I checked my world in Blackberry World, to see that it is installed, but it was gone. So I had all my BBM Messages messages. Make a restore from a previous backup has not resolved the problem, 7.0.1 remained. I had to reinstall version 6 to BBM. Version 6 installation means that I've lost the BB voice that came with v7. Nobody knows where and how can I get the previous version 7.0.1. IE version 7?

    You can try it again once, it might be useful. all making the first first delete BlackBerry Messenger of your device, for this on your home screen to go to Options > Device Application Management > locate and remove BlackBerry Messenger from there.

    It sounds like you already have the correct settings. But, at the bottom of this KB is a statement about the external link images... If the image is linked to the outside rather that integrated, you will still need to manually get the image.
