BlackBerry smartphones can convert an AT & T 9700 T-Mobile service?

Hello

I recently bought a unlocked 9700 AT & t out of Craigslist.   My company is currently providing us with the series Curve 8300 and I wanted to update to the latest offering from RIM.  Love the phone, what I did not like about the curve, has been corrected in the 9700 series.  My company uses T-Mobile as the carrier and everything works fine except the UMA service.  I guess that there is a difference between AT & T and T-Mobile models firmware.  Are there ways to solve this problem?

You can't have UMA on a non-TMobile branded device.  No upgrade of the OS will allow this.  The parameters of the AMU are deeply rooted in the unit - much deeper than just a BONE.

In addition, 3G will not work because TMobile and AT & T use different frequencies for 3 G.  All of this will work, because you have discovered.

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not return the book to e-mail service

I deleted the CMIME maintenance for my yahoo email account book, because I wanted to create my yahoo again email account. Now I can't get the service book return because my mobile operator does not support the Blackberry more and when I try to send again directly from my camera, it does not work... I guess because I don't have a set yet, email account which I can't seem to be able to be implemented without this service CMIME book. It feels a bit like the issue of ' chickens and eggs ", necessarily should I this book of CMIME email service on my first device until I can set up my yahoo email account (if so, how can I w/o a mobile operator is able to send it) or do I need an account already set up email to send service book of CMIME email directly from my camera? Hello

With a legacy of BB device, you must be on a medium that supports full BIS. Without BIS, it has none of the owners BB services available, which includes the management of e-mail. Inherited from BB devices do not have a complete email client on board... they need of BIS (hosted at the carrier) in order for the email function.

So, sad to say, but your efforts are useless, unless you change to a carrier who will provide your device BIS.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones can use any Pearl 8100 phone with any service provider?

I lost my phone and had an AT & T service. I don't want to buy a new phone, check if what is for sale on Craigslist. Not all beads for sale are for AT & T, but the 8100 Series is supposed to be for the most part, suppliers... is that correct?

If you get the unlocked device it should work on any GSM carrier. Not all MOBILE carriers now offer BlackBerry data services, but you should at least be able to use it for calls and text messages.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones can send E-mails or change the default Services

    Hello

I have 2 email addresses on my BB Storm, a Comcast account and a job.  I have no problems when I try to answer an e-mail from work.  However, when I try to respond to an email from Comcast, I do not get an option "send", just "Save as draft" or many other options.  I read another thread who suggested I go into Options > Advanced Options > default Services.  When I'm here, these three areas, calendar (CICAL), list (SYNC) contacts and messaging (CMIME) are all set to "Desktop" when I try to pull it down, a black box appears on the word "desktop" and there seems to be no more options pull down.  Any suggestions?

    Hello! I'll jump in...

When you reply to an email from Comcast, your default value (of office) does not apply, since you're replying to Comcast. The default applies when you create a new piece of e-mail as the originator - it will default to send your default setting, you can override, by using the 'send' at the top of the screen, when you create the message).

But, since your Comcast seems to be mucked up somehow, you must (as also recommended), re - send service directories to try to get it straightened out. For me, the best way to send the books is to use your Web of BIS carrier site... If you do not know the URL, find it with this link:

    http://www.BlackBerryFAQ.com/index.php/Where_can_I_log_into_my_BIS_account%3F

If you have not used before, you will need to associate the Web site interface to your storm - and IMO that is more easily done on the storm... Settings > e-mail settings, create a username and a password (NOT a @BB e-mail account), then use these credentials to the site via a PC.

Once you're set up with the BIS Web site, you can manage all BIS configurations you have - and you will find a configuration option is to send the service directories.  What you will find also, is that to manage your BIS accounts via the site or the storm interface has the same result - if you change something in a single interface, it will reflect in the other... they actually control the same, simply via a different interface.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones can not access Media card with BB Desktop or Media Sync 9700

The other day I received a Reburbed Bold 9700 update.

I use Ver 6 Deskstop OS and the 9700 is running device code latest version 5.

I have a Kingston 4 GB media card that I know is in place because the 9700 recognizes it and when I go to files and select the media card, I can see all the files on the card and when I take a picture it is written on the card so I know that memory is very good and he sees the 9700.

The problem I have is BB Deskstop or latest version of Media Sync to see so I can transfer files to and from my PC and the media card.

The error message that I receive on the two applications, it's that I have to turn on mass storage Mode.  When I look at my memory settings:

    Compression - enabled

Map of media Support - on

Mass Storage Mode Support - on

Auto enable mass storage Mode when connected - Yes

I formatted the card successfully on the BB.

I tried another card memory (2 GB) and also properly formatted as well.

I also tried another USB cable into another USB port.

I had a BB hard reset by pulling on the battery... several times.

I had another before Blackberrys and have never had a problem of access to the media card.  I would have thought that it is easier on the 9700.

I did search endlessly on the Web and saw other people with similar problems but many were so simple that the card is not seated properly and it also had the symptom that the BB is not recognizing the media card.  My BB recognize media cards and use them, but I can't access the card through my PC.  I understand that I may not see a pendrive pop up in Windows Explorer, but I can't understand why the BB Desktop or Media Sync cannot access.

I know that both of these applications communicate to the BB cause I get requests for passwords and the desktop, I can view all my applications and I used to update the device until the last OS level during the troubleshooting process.

I just wanted to see if anyone has experience this problem and has tips, if not I will contact AT & T or go into a local store to see if they can help.  I just think I'm missing something that I can take care off instead of my own.

    Thank you!

    Hello

Have you tried to connect the device on another computer?  If another computer to recognize the device, it may just be a case of bad USB drivers on your computer.

Here are some KB articles that may be able to help:

KB19717 - BlackBerry smartphone is not detected as a USB mass storage device when connected to a computer

KB10312 - impossible to display the map of support using the BlackBerry smartphone

You also need to remove the USB ports on your computer (using Device Manager), and then restart the computer to reload the correct drivers.

An alternative to this is to simply use a microSD card reader which allows you to use the microSD as a flash drive.

I hope that this info is another starting point for you!

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not connect to ISP via wireless router.

I have my cell service through T-Mobile and recently upgraded to a Bold 9700 with internet service. I can browse the internet via 3G network and an address of hot spot using Wi - Fi. What I can't do, is access to the internet via my router wireless at home. The router Netgear (WPN824 v3) works very well via the modem cable for laptops and smartphone Motorola click on my daughter. When I turn off the 3G network, I get a "cannot find server message".

I went through the technical support to the company of cable, Blackberry and Netgear without solution. The problem seems to be with the router, but I can't find a way to fix it. I'm about to buy another phone or router. If anyone has any ideas please help. Thank you

It works!  I've accessed the configuration of the router. It would work without security. It would not work with WPA - PSK [TPIK], I activated the two WPA2-PSK [AES] AND WPA-PSK [TPIK] AND IT is CONNECTED. I don't KNOW WHY, BUT I SURE AM HAPPY. I guess the BB don't like TPIK

  • BlackBerry® Smartphones email does not not on 9700

    Hello

Hoping someone can help me here.

I'm trying to fix Bold 9700 from my mother-in-law.  I know that I had this same problem with my 9700 old a few years ago, but don't remember how I fixed it.

Its BB was working fine, then emails came only sporadically.  She called Rogers, technical support and they told him to do a full restore.  After the full restoration, she has absolutely no email and when you click on the e-mail configuration in the installation section it goes absolutely nowhere... almost as if it has never been activated.

    I tried

-a reload of the operating system available (same problem)

-a return of service books (an email comes through recorded everything, but then nothing else comes through)

All the other features of the phone seem to work perfectly.  The person of Rogers told him that the problem was because the phone is old and it's broken and won't work anymore.  I do not subscribe to this belief and am sure that we can get it up and going again for her.

So can offer help here on how to fix this?

    Thanks in advance

Hello and welcome to the community!

You have tried a lot of things... Here's a little more perhaps.

You may want to consider using BBSAK (bbsak.org) to perform the wipe there is able to... sometimes a clean WIPE of this kind, followed by the reload of the operating system, can help.

You can also try this procedure might limit the specific causal element:

    1. Load your OS "bare bones"... If everything is optional, do not install it.
    2. If the behavior is immediately, then try another OS with step 1
    3. If the behavior does not immediately, then run for as long as necessary to make you to be sure that the behavior will not occur.
    4. Add one more thing - no matter how tempting, one.
    5. If the behavior does not immediately present, and then runs for long enough to be sure he won't have the same problem
    6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 until all things are responsible or the behavior presents

When the behavior shows up, you know the culprit... the last thing you have loaded.

If the behavior doesn't re-present, then you know that step 1 or 2 cured it.

If the behavior has anything, then you have probably a problem of material level for which no amount of OS or software can heal.

In addition, after each attempt reloading, I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message to your BB to come...) Please wait for this before moving on to the next step):

    (1) registry HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network
    • Please wait a 'registration' message reach your Messages application

    (2) remove and return Service directories

    • KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone
    • If you do not have access CMIME, continue deleting
    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    • Please wait "the Activation' Messages, one per already configured e-mail account, arrive in your Messages. If you have not already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

    (3) restart to take batt

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Hello and welcome to the community!

With a strong carrier network (for example, not only WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message from your BB... Please wait just before moving on to the next step):

    1) register HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network
    • Please wait a 'registration' message reach your Messages application

    2) Remove and return Service books

    • KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone
    • If you do not have access CMIME, continue deleting
    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    • Please wait "the Activation' Messages, one per already configured e-mail account, arrive in your Messages. If you have not already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

    3) restart

    • With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes.
    • See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If not, then you should try remove and re-add your configurations for the relevant accounts. Otherwise, you should contact your mobile provider for formal support.

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not update AppWorld 907 invalid COD

Hi guys. I bought my Torch 9800 (v6.0.0.570) in 2011 and so far the problem is still not resolved. Everytime I open the AppWorld

-A message appears: "To continue to use Blackberry App World, you must upgrade your current version."

    - Then I download the update.

Whenever the 99% achieved download bar, suddenly a message appears "907 invalid COD".

I can't even delete my BB AppWorld. There is no option "Delete" in "Application Management" or "Modules".

    Hi Firdaus92

In this case, it is advisable to upgrade the version of your operating system to the v6.0.0.756

Search and download your OS and everything above applies

    By sdgardne

    However, here's what I propose...

The easiest way is, on a PC (you can not do on MAC):

    (1) make sure you have a current backup and your BB complete... you can find complete instructions via the link in my sig auto below. (It's probably debatable given the errors you have... it is likely that your data are already parts of your device, which means that you must now rely on a backup you took before that happened.)

    2) uninstall all the BB OS packages from your PC,

    (3) make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed

    (4) download and install on your computer, the BB OS package you want:

    • If all you want are the levels of BONE, it is first sorted by carrier - the carrier supports, your search will be fast. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates. To really get the package up-to-date OS for your BB, you need to dig through and find all businesses that support your specific model BB and then compare the BONE levels they support.

    5) remove all copies of the SELLER on your PC. XML... There will be at least one and maybe 2, and they will be located in the same way or to (it changes based on your version of Windows) these files:

    • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    • C:\Users\(your Windows username) \AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

6 (a) to change your level of BB OS installed (at level or lower), you can run the Desktop software and connect your BB... the software should offer the operating system package you have installed on your PC.

6 (b) or, for recharging your BB OS level installed as well to change, work around the Desktop software and use the CHARGER. EXE directly, through step 2 in this process:

If, during the process of 6a or 6 b, your BB has an error '507', simply unplug the USB of the BB cord and reinsert it. do nothing else... This should allow the installation to continue.

You can also study the use of BBSAK (bbsak.org) to perform the wipe what he is capable.

You can also try the "skeleton OS Reload procedure" in an attempt to circumscribe the precise causal element:

You may also use these tips:

If you are on a MAC, you are limited to only your sanctioned carriers OS packages... but can still use any level they currently have to sanction. See this procedure:

Hello need help. My Blackberry Curve 8520 (OS 5.0.0.1036) does not connect to the server. It shows my network (Vodafone) and gets a strong signal; makes and receives calls; connect wifi; but it is also completely static. After the first Setup email screen I get: your device has a connection to the server problm.  (I think it means the Blackberry server?)  So I can not connect any email.  Very well in my other near-identical Curve 8520 Sim Card work.  How can I do please?  Y at - it a reset or software update is complete I can undertake? Thank you, Michael

I can help you with the it policy... lack of procedure for access to the BES server, this (and only this) cleanse a BB to an it policy:

    • Article ID: KB31291 How to reset a BlackBerry smartphone to factory using BlackBerry Desktop Software Settings

If you do a backup/restore, don't do this basically... rather, backup/restore only the databases specific you need (for example, calendar, contacts, messages, etc.) and more precisely to avoid data bases having something to with COMPUTER policy, business, etc.. If you restore those, the it policy will be conscientiously restored to the device, and you will be right where you are now.

As for a BES Server trying to reach out... There is nothing that I can offer you. Your best bet is to talk to your provider and make sure you have no BES-level service enabled on your account of them. Who should (note 'should'... is there no guarantees) prevent a BES server to reach out and the reactivation of your device.
