BlackBerry Smartphones Curve v9360 restarts frequently roaming

Whenever I travel to the Canada to the United States the phone restarts frequently.  Having wifi in makes no difference.  Have no roaming data or turn off makes no difference.  Any ideas for a fix?

went to manual connect to the network instead of automatic.  3 days in New York City and NO reboot.  This seems to have solved the problem, thanks.

Will let you know if the problem happens again on future trips.

  • BlackBerry smartphone Curve 9360 sometimes warms us up a little bit and the battery is discharged

Hi, my blackberry 9360 is sometimes a really weird thing. Once a week, after that I used the device to check email, check facebook or even simply by removing the door in leather and put it right back it drains the battery at a very fast pace and hotter than usual. I'm not aware immediately, but when I use the unit 3 hours later for example the battery is almost all gone and the unit is warmer than usual. Please not that it is warmer, but at a level acceptable, just as if it had been used during this period of time, not overheating. I charge the unit and check the activity monitor application and the CPU was mainly used by the... Idle CPU. The part of the device that heats is not the battery, but the device itself. It is rather annoying because I don't know when it will happen again. The only email account, I have installed is a Hotmail account and it goes as well with wifi on and outside. Someone has an idea it might be? Thank you in advace for help. Best regards, Alexander

Welcome to the Forums of the BlackBerry Support

Are sure you you are in an area where you have a good network coverage signal strength or if falls frequently.

While our BlackBerry devices can feel hot tell a long browsing session, play games, download countinous or all supported. If we hold the Menu for a few seconds, it will open a screen that will display all the programs running in the background, usually five will always be there (host, BBM, Message, phone, browser) you can always check if any other applications. run in the background.

We should always try to close Applications correctly - avoid using key end to close the applications because it just minimizes the application and let it run in the background. Instead, press the Menu key, select close or Exit to exit the application. Don't let your browser open when not in use. If programs are running in the background, it will also allow overheating and also to quick battery drainage. • BlackBerry Smartphones Curve 9360 Notification bar

    Hello

I am new to the blackberry world!  I just had the Curve 9360 and used to have a notification under the date and time bar.  It displays notifications (text, bbm, email, facebook, etc.) as a search bar and the volume button.  don't know how I did it, but it disappeared, can anyone help?  How to re - add this bar.  It's a pain having to go through all the menus to see where are the notification and by changing the volume etc...

    Thank you!

    Lisa

Will you do a reboot on the BlackBerry this way simple: with smart BlackBerry poweredphone, remove the battery for a minute and then reinsert the battery to restart. A reboot in this manner is prescribed for most defects and errors of operating system, and you will lose any data on the device doing so.

After having restarted, let me know what you see on your home screen?

If it remains the same with this missing notification bar, could you please post a screenshot here?

  • WiFi blackBerry Smartphones Curve 9300 3 problem

    Hi, I recently got my first Blackberry - a 9300 3.

It seems impossible to connect to my home network via WiFi. I've implemented the BB with a manual setting that I have a non-broadcast SSID and password is correct. My router is a Netgear DG834GT. I have a laptop connected via WiFi so I don't know the router, WiFi & DSL is all operational.

I can sporadically, but not systematically, ping the router of the BB, but I can't ping a web address (for example google.com). I can't ping the BB from my PC, but an IP Scanner confirms that the BB is on the network.

My career has suggested a reboot, reinstall the firmware and turn WiFi off & on - everything I did.

I'm very knowledgeable PC, reasonably network aware, but a complete newbie to BB and smartphones.

    Any ideas?

Well, I've sorted - or rather Geek Squad pointed me the right direction.

It seems that the phone does not like the standard security WPA - PSK Protocol. While the router is recognized, the phone cannot communicate through the router.

Change the wireless security protocol on the router to WPA2-PSK has solved the problem. Of course, if you do this you must also change the Security Protocol on all your other devices on the wireless network, or else they may not work.

  • Removal of blackBerry smartphone Curve 8530 automatic emails, messages, etc.

I have a Blackberry Curve 8530 that has been turned off for several months.  The Blackberry is designed to automatically delete messages once I turn it back?

    tahiti4me wrote:

If I have let him connect to the network by placing it in a Faraday bag, etc., that prevents the deletions?

Yes... for the 2nd condition, reconciliation against the server may not occur if there is no connection. But the other two conditions are not dependent on connection.

    tahiti4me wrote:

I wonder if the deletion is triggered by the clock / calendar in the phone or the network clock / calendar.

This would apply only to the first condition ('Dungeon messages") and I think that his clock of the device dependent, but I have no information (other than"intuition") that backs up.

I tried to join Blackberry tech support about this, but couldn't find a number.

Mainly because there is no such thing. The front line support is rather, contract, liability of carriers, resellers and authorized service centers (it varies according to the region and the specific question). Everyone has the opportunity to climb up to BlackBerry cases requiring improved support, but end users have no (free) direct path to request anything be it directly from BlackBerry.

There is something called incident support, but it costs to just ask the original question, since you are not through the contract, you signed at the time of purchase. If you want to study, you can check it out here:

  • BlackBerry smartphone how to restart Blackberry programmatically.

    Hello

    Good day to all

Is it possible to restart/reboot Blackberry programmatically without remove or reinsert the battery?

When you delete some applications reboot is requested by the operating system.

It is not requested by an application to remove.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Curve 8520 last chance to enter the password or by telephone shall be cleaned.

Before entering my password [number] I must have pressed the 'alt' key or other, and I was asked to enter 'blackberry' to continue. Then in the password bar, he said also that I had fivemore attempts. No luck.

I gave to my daughter. No luck. Anway there is no more stars [astericks] I see what I'm typing. When I type my password number, letters come instead, and I can't get into my phone.

Suggestions please only have one more to go.

To see if I can get my contacts etc out of my sim card can I put the SIM in another phone, connect to the computer and save to file?

Since the blackberry "BOLD" forum a similar case.

Told off for five minutes and try again.

My problem is why the letters when I am pressing the numbers? the 'alt' is stuck? Or what I have to press 'alt' before entering the Nim-sequence. It's already happened not and do not have to press alt to enter. I just regret touching another button like I was, or just before I entered my password numbers.

    Hi alggomas

Don't know if you have already tried your last attempt, if your unit is asking for the password, you will need to enter the password that you set, if you have a mix of different characters in your password, I think that you are not able to enter properly on the keyboard for BlackBerry. For example, if your password

    • alggomas123
    • And if you enter a > l > g > g > o > m > a > s > alt > 1 > 2 > 3

    the result will be

    • alggomas1er
    • You must enter
    • a > l > g > g > o > m > a > s > alt > 1 > alt > 2 > alt > 3

to get alggomas123 on your device. For example, while on the BlackBerry keyboard, you think you type alggomas123, you actually type alggomas1er

    alggomas wrote:

All contacts are stored on our memory of the unit no SIM card, unless you have previously saved or copied these contacts on your SIM card. Also a reset will not delete the contacts stored on your SIM card.

If you think that your alt key is locked, and then do a battery pull reboot by removing the battery while your unit is powered. A lock will be released after a restart battery pull.

You must press the ALT key before entering these numbers. So please, take your time and make sure that you type on your device. If it fails, then if you have a previous backup of your device, or if you use BlackBerry protect then you can restore your data from these backups

    Good luck

  • BlackBerry smartphone Curve 8900 attempt to remove information from Outlook calendar

When I try to two-way sync my Curve 8900 with Outlook 2007, it attempts to delete all previous items in Outlook.  If I do a one-way synchronization of Outlook to curve it works and then syncs correctly both ways until I disconnect, then reconnect.  New synch and then try to delete all previous items in Outlook again.  Actually, it means that I can only synchronize Outlook with curved, not two-way.  Any ideas?

If you have the calendar works perfectly in outlook, read this link to reset the entire calendar on the blackberry and sync again.
