BlackBerry smartphones someone elses Bold 9930 heat up on calls?

My new BlackBerry Bold 9930 heats up on calls and when on the internet? Did someone elses get like this? Its not hot but warm enough.

This is not uncommon.  Your phone will heat up slightly when the processor is active during a telephone conversation, or when several applications are running simultaneously.  You might also find it heats when you stream videos.  If it becomes so hot you can fry an egg on it, post back and we can look at a few options, but until then, this is nothing to worry.

See you soon.

P.S. If, you ever get to the point of frying eggs over, I like mine more easy with 3 strips of bacon.

Hello and welcome to the community!

I recommend that you try to start safe mode:

    • KB17877 How to start a smartphone BlackBerry in Mode safe

It will take several attempts to get the combination of keys ESC (press/release/hold) OK, so be patient. When properly in Safe Mode, see what happens.

If the behavior continues, then well... think what happened just before this behavior started? A new application? An update? A theme? Something else? Think carefully that the slightest change can be causal... and try to undo all that was.

But if the behavior continues mode without failure, you may need to consider more drastic measures - WIPE, OS Reload, BBSAK Wipe/Reload and the process of reloading OS 'skeleton '. To prepare, you should be sure that you have a full backup of your PC... Please see the Backup link in my sig auto on this post for instructions.

Can someone help me to identify the reason why my "BOLD" will restart during the call? I already traded on the telephone once for another brand new and the problem persists. It seems that the phone is heating up during calls and then restarts, but that might be a psychological thing.

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

    (1) make sure that you are on the latest firmware approved by your carrier:

    http://NA.BlackBerry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp

    (2) perform a hard reboot:

Whenever random strange behaviors creep, the best thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, this one suffers memory leaks and other... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

    (3) make sure that you do not have a ton of applications running in the background. Always close apps when you don't need them - not the back key or the red button, but rather the BBKey and selecting "close" or "exit".

    (4) see if you have memory problems:

  • BlackBerry Smartphones (URGENT) BB BOLD RESTARTS, THEN SHOWS SOMETHING VERY CONCERNING.

My BlackBerry Bold 9930 suddenly restarted while on internet, then when the phone started upward, I entered my password and these messages appeared: LIST OF CATEGORIES, ENDORSING RECORDING AUDIO, AUDIO RECORDING APPROVED, just after the last message, the LED STARTED flashing RED. Whnat must I do, and that is the cause?

Safe mode is simply a tool of diagnosis... not intended for normal operations.

With respect to the Association, it's quite interesting... but unfortunately no one here in this community of users can do something that neither provide any additional information.

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not send messages or make phone calls

My BB torch worked fine earlier, but there is an hour, it just stopped.  He has connections and bars, until in the Connections window bit. I tried it turn on and off as well as to take out the battery after it's off to reset.  I tried to remove all of my old conversations in the phone as well. I can still connect to the internet on this topic very well.

Hello and welcome to the community!

I suggest the following, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message to your BB to come...) Please wait for this before moving on to the next step):

    (1) registry HRT

    (2) remove and return Service directories

    • KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone

    (3) restart to take batt

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If this isn't the case, then you should contact your provider of wireless services for formal support.

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not remove 1 remaining phone journal - Call Log NOT updated entry

Hello. I have a Bold 9000. My phone call log is is more updated. I have 1 old handwriting on the paper that I can't remove.

I tried to spend too many Messages, display folder, phone call logs, but it comes back with "Eception exception: java.lang.NullPointerException." I get the same message at boot to reset (drums),

Option / status / watch 50 MB of free file is not a memory problem.

It's very frustrating. If I can't sort out is there no way to uninstall & reinstall the software on the BB?

    Thanks, Altaf

    Hello.

I'm sorry I failed you early especially after taking the time to provide me with a solution.

First of all, I did what you asked and managed to clear the logs of the phone call (by selecting this line under databases) of advanced DTM. I was not sure if you meant that (historical clear calls) when you said "Click on the database on the RHS and click the Clear button" or that you wanted to say more.

I had to make 2 passes through it. The 1st time, it says that there are 20 entries in the log (I saw that one on my phone). After the clearer, I went back to my phone and the entrance was still there but a DTM Advanced phone log said there were 17 entries now. Then, I deleted the newspaper again and this time it was the desired effect!

I also removed the battery with the unit on. The message "Eception Java lang... "disappeared now.

I thank very you much for helping me.

From the moment wherever they gave me a BB "BOLD" of my company, I realized how good it was. It is simple and intuitive in use and much faster and without fault compared to many other PDA/Smartphones I've used. I liked it so much, I bought one for me!

    Best wishes

  • BlackBerry smartphones HELP! "BOLD" does not accept password

    Hi all

I have a big problem with my "BOLD" (German) 9700 BB.

As I took on my jacket this morning it does not accept the password to unlock the screen.

I thought it was me, so I tried again and again led attempts 3/10, 4/10, 5/10...Normally there are stars, so you won't see the pass, now its clear letters and numbers? More: top-right corner it showes EN then maybe this past German to English settig (I don't have it-on lens)

I am now 9/10, the screen asking me to enter 'blackberry' but I am learning that if it doesn't hurt once more all on the Phanoe will be deleted which would be a nightmare that I don't have a backup...!

an a German forum about someone with the same problem 'translate' pass numbers (1111) in letters (YYYY) as his apparently English keyboard - I did (get low), but it did not work?

    Someone at - it p l e a s e!

Yes, it is normal to show you the characters you type, and it normally occurs after 5 wrong password entered.

You has not answered my question earlier if you have alternate characters or numbers in your password?

If so, should we ALWAYS register the pressed ALT key first to this number?

  • BlackBerry smartphones HELP! Bold 9780 - nothing worked

    Hello

Really hope someone can help with this problem.

I recently upgraded my 8330 to a Bold 9780 (v6.0.0.285 platform 6.5.0.54) on the Bell Canada network - when I woke up this morning and turned on my phone, it took a good 8 to 10 minutes from the home screen to load. Once he did charge Finally I had a dozenor so error messages that all seem to be tied to Java.

I did a traction battery and tried but unfortunately got the same result.

Here are some of the messages I get:

    Eception exception: Java.lang.error

    Eception exception: ApplicationRegistry.waitfor (0xf405d42294c6940e) timeout

    Etc.

Once I clicked ok to all these errors, I have very limited access to the phone. I can make/receive calls, open my calendar, messages, camera, but I can't launch BBM, Facebook application, Twitter App, etc..

  • BlackBerry Smartphones someone hacked directory

You know how when you go to your Contact list and contact open, you can see the person's name, photo, contact information, recent activity and notes?  Well during the holidays, I open a contact and noticed in the section 'Notes' comment 'Dummy '.  Well when I finally had the time, I've been through a lot of my contacts (not all, I have too many for that) and discovered that a large number of them have this same comment in the Notes section.  Looks like at the beginning of the alphabet, she is hit and miss, but once go you inside, it's almost all of them.  I KNOW that I didn't write that in there, and I can't think of a point in time in which someone else has had my cell phone long enough for this.  Do you know what can happen and how can I prevent or fix the problem?  Thank you!

  • BlackBerry smartphones using my Bold 9700 in Bangladesh

Hey all. I'm writing this question here cause I remember someone asking a similar question. But unfortunately impossible to locate the post

I'm moving to Bangladesh and wish to benefit from all the features of my "BOLD", I have to the United Kingdom. I already had my phone unlocked to be used on any network. Tells me that the largest supplier in Bangladesh is a Department of Telenor called GP. I have been in contact with GP customer service. They assure me if I subscribe to the "unlimited internet" for data and a monthly post pay / pay for voice calls, I'll be able to use all the services of my BB.

I was wondering if someone could tell me how accurate is in fact? I suspect that I am not sure if BRI would actually work only with an internet package unlimited or not.

The next question is about 3 G services. GP is not a 3G network and so the 3G of the bold features wouldn't work. In fact, I don't know what are these 3G capabilities? Anyone could shed some light in this?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Best regards

    Ashraf

GrameenPhone offers BlackBerry services in sees (one of the regular users on the CIHI for Grameenphone works).  If you have an unlimited BlackBerry data plan, you will have access to the BIS network.  As for your question, about 3 G, 3 G only refer to data speeds.  So if you're in a 3G area, you will connect at a speed of 3G, but if you aren't, then you connect using EDGE.  This gives you all the data, but it's just a little slower than 3G.

    I hope this helps.

  • BlackBerry smartphones, remove the "BOLD" Sprint 9650 identifiers

I have an old 9650 "BOLD" that was initially linked to the Sprint network.  I ordered a new SIM from Mobal international SIM card and now my 9650 has successfully used two local GSM providers (AT & T and T-Mobile) and managed to make phone calls.

When the phone starts up, it always says Sprint and shows my old sprint phone number which is not the same as the number assigned to my new SIM card.  Is there a way to remove this information and or wipe clear my BB to his "original non-Sprint State.

    Thank you

Hello and welcome to the community!

This initial carrier 'splash screen' is hard coded and cannot be changed. When the devices are manufactured, they are made for a specific carrier... and some of these companies have deals where this start screen is included. But it doesn't mean anything... If your device is carrier/MEP unlocked, then the splash screen shows just what the VendorID of the device (which is initially made for carrier). Unlocked is unlocked, regardless of the start screen (but you cannot change the home screen... it is permanent).

In regards to displayed phone number, see:

It might be that Sprint and/or from your current provider or do something on their networks... but you would need to enquire with them. Move a CDMA device to a non-CDMA service can be difficult, with many of the latent unexpected results (like this one). You can also find other useful KBs on point... you need to search for more.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones purchased new "BOLD" seems today - opportunity.

    Issue.

When I received my box of the store today, it looks like its been closed several times, I opened it more and there are bubbles under the screen - removed the portector screen protector, lit.

Here's my question - is there pre made or not because there is a blackberry message dated July 17 for recording blackberry 0190 AM and one for today (when I first turned it on).

Is this normal or do I go back and get a new one?

I paid $ 750 for a phone that could have been used.  Thank you for the answers, but I don't understand how someone can continue to use something that was not "new".  How do you know if the person has used the phone for more than 6 months and they decide to camera flash and whipe out the timers of life on all the data/autonomy.  I mean it could have been a demonstration for a provider or something unit.  As far as I'm concerned its timers of life represent the same thing as a mileage of cars.  In any case, this issue has been resolved - I returned the phone since and got a full refund.

    Thanks for the replies.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones new BB Bold software

I'm new to Blackberry, so forgive my ignorance...

I saw where Rogers Wireless released the software update for BB "BOLD", which is great, even if it takes a minor fix to make it work with users non-Rogers.  Are there not a similar version of RIM/Blackberry?  I found it difficult to find information on upgrading my Blackberry OS/firmware even through the Blackberry site.  Where is the place to go for updates and notifications of updates and how to apply them?
