BlackBerry Smartphones update problems

My "BOLD" has been upgraded 4.6.0.303 to 5.0.0.681 for more than 12 hours using the Desktop Manager. Is this normal? If not what can I do about it? I don't want to just unplug the phone or the termination of the program I'm worried it will be f * k the phone.

Hi thanks for the suggestion, the problem wasn't with the upgrade, but the fact that it was taking hours and nothing to do. The phone was showing the white screen with the phone, computer and two arrows involving data transfer, given that the DTM said not to interrupt me I was afraid to do anything. My computer laptop sorting the problem for me by breaking from one day to the next. The phone still has the original version and seems to work so I think I'll stick to that and ignore the upgrade.

    Hi guys. so I've updated my software on my bb curve 8520... Well the bb desktop software had asked me to do the experience works best with my phone. but it turns out to be the opposite. I can not call more I get this message when I try to call someone "can't call the current call" or if I managed to call I can't hang up unless the caller hangs up. my memory card is not working, or more, music and videos say 'impossible to read the content' but I can see all my photos. I can not view my airtime balance or update my bis. I tried to connect my memory card on my pc and it works fine when connected but as soon as I disconnect plays anything from my phone. I rebooted a million times. formatted the entire phone but nothing works! my alarm does not sound and sometimes when someone me the your text does not ring SMS. the update is performed from a 107... something to an update from 1788.     Given what you describe, I think that is better to a clean OS reload. The easiest way is, on a PC (you can not do on MAC):

    (1) make sure that you have a current backup and your BB complete... you can find the instructions at the link in my auto-sig below.

    2) uninstall all the BB OS packages from your PC,

    (3) make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed

    (4) download and install on your computer, the BB OS package you want:

    • http://us.BlackBerry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
    • If all you want are the levels of BONE, it is first sorted by carrier - the carrier supports, your search will be fast. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates. To really get the package up-to-date OS for your BB, you need to dig through and find all businesses that support your specific model BB and then compare the BONE levels they support.

    5) remove all copies of the SELLER on your PC. XML... There will be at least one and maybe 2, and they will be located in the same way or to (it changes based on your version of Windows) these files:

    • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    • C:\Users\(your Windows username) \AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

    OK, so I've tried everything to try and solve my problems but have not been able to do. I hope that someone here might be able to help!

    First of all, I have accidentally hidden a picture by checking the "hide" field Now how do get it back you? I had a couple of my friends with the same phone try and figure that out it and they were not able. Anyone know?

    Second, when I choose a picture to my desktop wallpaper, it shows in a larger version in the upper left corner of the image. I me remember when I was picked as my background wallpaper, the image I have zoomed in on it before asking, but used the 'back' button to remove the zoom feature. It looks ok on the screen but define it the paper painted like the zoomed image in. Now, it doesn't matter what image I chose, I get in the top left corner, zoom appears on my paper painted - although it seemed normal before asking.

    I am frustrated trying to understand these two themes out, so any help or suggestions would be appreciated!

I just downloaded the software, plugged in the Passport via USB, disabled link, double clicked on the program and it automatically upgraded to 10.3.2.2876! Amazing! With the new software it restored everything perfectly, not a single piece of missing data.
