BRAVIA LINK NETWORK VIA ETHERNET WI - FI CONNECTION

I have a lot of Sony products (TV, Blu - ray player and home theater system) I want to combine, on a home network. Currently I have the Blu - ray player and a DishNetwork device which is connected to the satellite receiver when connected to my home wireless router with my computer and the printer. I also have a Bravia Link equipment connected to my TV, but it requires a wired ethernet connection. I would like to know if I moved the router next to the TV and plugged the Bravia Link into one of the ethernet ports (not internet one), would this work? If so, how would I set up, as there is a SSID and password? It would require an internet connection just put in place? It appears on the list of the devices connected to the router which appears on my computer? I hope I explained this right. Thank you.

Hi dustnik,

Let us know the model # of the Bravia Link module, so that we can provide you with the information detailed.

I want to connect my TV to my Airport Extreme via ethernet, so I can run Netflix. Can I just the branch?

    Yes.

Can or, if it does not reach, I use an old router as a bridge linking to the Airport via an ethernet cable and connect the router to the TV?

Yes. It is also possible, but only by using an Ethernet switch instead of a router would be a better solution. The important thing is the total distance of Ethernet between the extreme and the TV. Ethernet is limited to 100 m (328 ft)

  • Unable to connect to the network after having extended to a second Airport via ethernet router

    Hello

I have a 5th gen airport extreme that did a wonderful job providing the wifi to the majority of our House. Unfortunately, in our room on the floor, we have a (good) connection causing a constant depreciation with netflix that my wife was not fond of.

Today, I ran a line of 100 feet of ethernet in my attic and connected my previous dual band gen 3 airport extreme. I have reset the router and configured from scratch. When it has completed the Installation Wizard to "expand my current network." as soon as the router is online, our network goes off. I can unplug the second router and starts all over again. but when it is connected. my devices ask for network password and fail to connect.

how our network is set up:

    Modem - Airport Extreme (5thgen) - ethernet 8port switch - Airport Extreme (3rdgen)

All are wired using the cat6 cable.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Please perform a hard reset on the 3rd Gen AirPort Extreme as follows:

Turn on the airport for a few minutes

Pressed the reset button on the back of the AirPort Extreme for 5 to 6 seconds

Release the reset button and allow a minute for the airport restart to a slow, flashing amber light status

Temporarily, move the 3rd Gen airport close to the airport of Gen 5 th and connect short, spare Ethernet cable... no matter what length will make... among the <-->LAN ports on the 5 th Gen to the "O" WAN port on the 3rd Gen airport

Turn on the 3rd Gen airport for a minute or two

Rerun the installer... who will suggest that the 3rd generation will extend the signal of the 5th generation, enter a name for the 3rd generation device and click Next. Your screen will be similar to the example below, but will show your devices and the network name.

Monitor the following very closely to ensure that the 3rd generation is currently set to spread with Ethernet.  This indicates that the installation wizard recovers the Ethernet connection, so the 3rd generation will be configured correctly.

Wait another minute until the 3rd generation is configured and working properly... and check that it causes NO problems on the network as if it was before, when it was not properly configured.

Now move back the 3rd generation to the remote location and connect the Ethernet cable to the WAN port on the 3rd generation.  If your cables Ethernet works correctly, the 3rd generation will work properly.

If the 3rd generation does not work properly, then you will need troubleshoot the Ethernet connection and, eventually, the Ethernet switch... Since you know that the 3rd generation has been put in place properly and it works well with the other short Ethernet cable.

  • Unable to connect to the internet. PC a firewall via ethernet. "no isp address.

I have windows xp on my pc. I know not what I'm supposed to download and not more than my provider of the Internet service provider. can anyone help.

    Hi angieb9171,

    · Provide you receive the exact error message.

    · Who is the provider of Internet services on the computer?

    · When was the last time you were able to connect to the internet?

    · What type of internet connection do you use?

    · You have security software installed on the computer

Follow the methods below to hone in on the question:

    Method 1:

The security software installed on the computer may block access to the internet on the computer.

If you have any third-party security software installed on the computer, turn it off and check if it works.

Important: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Method 2:

  • Laptop connected to 2 ISP networks (Ethernet + wireless) - Wireless Connection shows a "yellow Triangle" - no Internet access

I am facing a network unusual problem with the following network configuration

    1. laptop connected to isps1 via Ethernet - 192.168.0.x (serves as router NAT and DHCP)
    2. same laptop connected to ISP2 network Wi - Fi - 10.1.1.x (router does NAT and DHCP)
3 WiFi connection shows a "yellow Triangle" - no Internet access

    Note:

    1. neither the connections require Sign-In to access the Internet
2 Ethernet is defined on top to control configuration\reseau and Internet\Network Connections\Advanced Settings\Adapters and links
    3 operating system: Windows 7 64-bit SP1
    4. the Wi - Fi network has access to the Internet as other wireless clients can connect to the Internet using the same.
    5. here is the weird part - if I disable the Ethernet adapter on this laptop, the "yellow Triangle" - no Internet access on the wireless connection disappears and he now reports "Internet access".

    6. If I now activate the Ethernet back, connection Wi - Fi card always displays "Internet access"
    7. If I reboot, the problem returns - new shows a "yellow Triangle" wireless connection - no Internet access

    6. the question is not specific to this machine that the same issue is reproducible on another computer with 64-bit Windows 8 installed.

This is expected behavior that has an explanation?
I can provide more information if necessary.

Your comments and suggestions are welcome.

  • Unable to connect to the NAS network via a wired connection?

    Hi all

I have 2 network NAS. They are both a Bay D-Link ShareCenter 2. One is full of media I use for streaming and the other is used to keep backups of my computers and some software. Both of the NAS are configured in RAID mirror. They both worked fine when I got them almost a year ago, they are mapped to letters pilot Y and Z. 2 days when I logged my office a popup notification came to say.
"cannot reconnect to all network drives, click here to check the status of your network drives."
    so I checked it status and he said they were offline. I restarted my computer and both the NAS, but it made no difference. Then I tried to disconnect the drives, but when I try to reconnect to them I get this error;
"Windows cannot access \\192.168.0.32\Volume_1\Joe, check the spelling of the name. Otherwise, there could be a problem with your network. In an attempt to identify and solve network problems, click on diagnose. »
When I click to diagnose it is unable to find a default.
The next thing I did was disable my Ethernet card and connect to my network with my WiFi adapter. Then I tried to re - map the NAS is connected via the wireless. This time he allowed me to map them and they seem to work as usual via the wireless connection, but it is rather slow on the wireless.
    Then I disconnected my WiFi connection and reactivated my Ethernet card. When I tried to open the NAS I get this error message;

"An error occurred while reconnecting Z: to \\192.168.0.32\Volume_1\Joe, Microsoft Windows network: the local device name is already in use." This connection has not been restored. »

    A friend told me that this error was because the drive letter is used by a USB storage device or remembered from a previous session, and to remedy, I should run these 2 commands CMD;
NET use * / Delete Yes
    NET use / persistent: no
After you run the two orders, nothing has been changed still the same problem. I also I have no USB storage device so it may be that.
The next thing I tried was to ping both the NAS, I did this on Ethernet and WiFi connections, and both times I return a normal response both to the NAS.
I defrosted then to restore an image from my Office I made around a week ago and I know that I don't have this problem at the time. The image I did was with Acronis. When I started on the CD of Acronis support, I discovered that Acronis software could connect both the NAS on my desktop Ethernet. After restoring I still have the same problem.
Now, there's 1 thing I noticed, my laptop can still connect to both WiFi and Ethernet NAS with all the problems. I also have an android phone, and who can connect both of the NAS via a WiFi connection.
1 last thing you to know is I can always get to the configuration of the NAS so pages I visit it local address in a web browser. I also ran a factory reset both the NAS and then re-applied my own settings. This does not solve the problem, and more that turning March my routers.
Please can someone help me solve this problem. I'm running a Windows 8 Pro 64 Bit operating system. If you need more information on my system spec or how I have my setup of home network please let me know.
    Thank you Joe.

This problem has now been fixed.

For some reason any my AVG firewall had defrosted on its own to block access to the features as well as to define its self to disable the file and printer sharing of files on the NAS share.
So a small trick to my firewall and everything works as it should.
    Thank you Joe.
  • My verse ATT modem (non apple devices to use this modem} is connected to the ATT line, Time Capsule (iPhones, Macs Time Capsule use) via ethernet Uverse.) Non apple devices can collect data from iPhones or Mac using the time Capsule?

My verse ATT modem ({use of devices not apple wifi of this modem} is connected to the ATT line, Time Capsule (iPhones, Macs use the wifi of the time Capsule) and connect to the Uverse modem via ethernet.)

Both devices are set to the highest security and each uses separate passwords.

Non apple devices can collect data from iPhones or Mac using the time Capsule?

With a bit of work by someone who knows how to do such things, not Apple computers could read some files on the Mac if file sharing is configured on the network... devices non-Apple and... He knew the device passwords or administrator for Macs.

Mac could also play the files on other Macs if file sharing has been implemented and the device password or admin was known.

If you ask if a PC can read the files on the Time Capsule, the answer is Yes, without doubt, assuming that the PC knew the password of device for the time Capsule.

  • Why can't connect me to Internet Via Ethernet?

    Hello

I help set up the iMac to a friend. No problem problem connecting to Internet through WiFi but can not get the connection via Ethernet. Cables checked and ethernet and all are in working condition. Took some screen shots but I'm not good at all with this stuff. Can someone explain where I'm wrong. Of course, it's simple for a person - but not for me!

That's what I mean when I open the network tab:

I'm not with the Mac today so instructions to take with me would be very appreciated.

    Kind regards.

Are plug you the ethernet cable directly to one of the ports on the router to the ethernet port of the iMac, rather than through network extensions? If so, and it is not working, you have another ethernet cable, you can try?

If the cable connections are good and it still does not, you can try a reset SMC and NVRAM (PRAM) and then test again:

  • What is the right way to extend a network with two stations 80211ac wireless fixed extreme apple via ethernet?

I my house wired with ethernet and have logged as many devices via cat5e as possible. My problem is when I try to connect together the two apple airport extreme base stations and use the second to extend my network I lose the internet connection.  I am able to extend without problems via radio, but since I plugged in the House tried to take advantage of the fastest method by cable.

Here's my network setup in a nut shell.

In the basement, I have my router from Verizon Fios (gateway 80211n) currently configured to provide all the space an Ip address via dhcp (disabled wireless)

Gigabit ethernet port 8 wired via gigabit switch through the cable between the bridge Fios and port 1 of the switch.

two iMacs wired directly the fios gateway ports 2 and 3

Base station extreme elementary apple (call it down at the moment) connected to the Fios bridge

Extreme basestation secondary apple related to extreme primary apple base station

    Cable to switch TV

Nintendo Wii connected to the switch U

Apple TV connected to the switch

Drive Blu - ray connected to the switch

My mainly the Airport extreme is configured as follows

    connect via DHCP

Address of the router is set to the Fios router

FOR DNS, I used back free servers like Google, and level 3

Wireless is set to create a wireless network

Security is set to WPA2 Personal

Turned on 5 GHz and 2.4 and 5 ghz are set to automatic

Router mode is set to bridge mode off

Second or first floor Airport extreme config

    Connect using dhcp

Address of the router is also the Fios router

    Servers DNS is empty

    Wireless settings

Network is set to extend a wireless network

the wireless network name reflects my network

    wpa2 personal wireless security game

    Network

Router mode is grayed out and pondered or bridge mode

Second or first floor Airport extreme config...

.. . Network is set to extend a wireless network

Given that all routers are interconnected by Ethernet, you don't want to configure AirPort Extreme to "Extend a wireless network." This option should be used only if the connection between the wireless base stations. Instead, the two base stations must be configured to "create a wireless network.  This is because that, with them all connected by Ethernet, you have the basis for a network of mobile type.

With this type of network, each router will broadcast their own Wi - Fi network, but because they will all use the same network name (SSID) and use the same type of wireless security and the password, all the wireless clients will see them as network «one»

  • Connecting 2 HP printers via Ethernet?

Hi, new to the forum. Noticed the badge of 'Day of the Expert' on the HP site and thought it would be a good place to ask. Trying to give as much detail as possible. My apologies in advance if the message appears long

I wonder if someone can provide a walkthrough on how to connect 2 HP printers to a desktop HP via Ethernet with a router/modem configuration installed. #1 printer is a Deskjet 6988; #2 printer is Photosmart c309a; PC is a p6623w of flag recently bought at Wal-Mart and upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium to W7 Ultimate. I think it's one of the most recent "Slimline" computers with a minimum of available ports and for problems of space (the entire installation is in a bedroom, with most devices and devices on a desk), I can't really plug a USB hub with several sons (and nowhere to put the hub) and connect the stuff. In addition, there are other computers in the House: two laptops, Pavilion dm1z and Pavilion dv6 - 3227cl, respectively and also with W7 (dm1z = W7 professional, dv6 = Home Premium), on which I would use shared printing (but "home group" met with mixed results). DSL modem is a 6100 Westell Verizon's connected to a Linksys router #WRT320N. I consider myself as moderately / intermediate level "techies" and can understand a little how to perform maintenance / installation routine I receive once the steps in a detail 1-2-3 format (preferably with photos and other visuals!) Some specific questions I have, as well as more details on the configuration of the computer, are listed below. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

    Issues related to the:

    (1) physical installation is kind of a "Frankenwerk" configuration, with the wires used devices is more internal (but apparently the standard regarding the adapters Ethernet/USB/ca / go). Am a little confused, however, of what is required when making the connection: have 1 yellow cable plugged into the Ethernet port on the Linksys router and the Ethernet port on the modem. There is also a wire Blue connecting port #1 the Linksys router to the Ethernet port on the desktop. Will I need to buy additional cables to connect the 6988 and c309a, and ultimately, where should I connect all of them?

    (2) seems every time I want to try an install (and allegedly to succeed), I later get error messages in the Device Manager MS on a 'WPD file system Volume driver", specifically"this device cannot start (Code 10)." What is the WPD driver and how is it related to the printer (not exactly which), and how to avoid these mistakes in the future?

    More details:

Yes that's correct... Plug-in - in any random port 2 to 4 is not serious it should be standard.

  • Office jet Pro 8610: how to connect Officejet Pro8610 via ethernet instead of wireless?

    Hello

We recently bought Officejet Pro8610, but we can't use it yet.

Our it team does not print wireless network.

Thus, we tried to implement the officejet via ethernet with wireless turning-off.

    That's the problem.

We have disabled Ethenet setting wireless and go-> advanced setting.

We got a static IP for network printer and tried to manually enter the details and information, but nothing can be saved.

We checked ehternet port is enabled.

    DHCP does not work either.

    Any suggestion?

    Thank you.

Problem has been solved by replacing ethernet cable.

It is curious that the faulty cable has worked with a laptop computer, but did not work with OfficeJet Pro.

    Therefore, conclusion to date.

When the internet connection is having problems, there is a symptom that manual IP setting doesn't seem to work.

  • Only browsers and AVAST cannot connect to internet via ethernet. Computers on the same router via WiFi, MS update, ping cmd - all access

Help! I'm about to commit the homicide of the computer!

I have been troubleshooting for weeks and am now bald from ripping my hair!

    Computer: Dell Inspiron 537 s Slim Desktop  w / Pentium Dual - Core CPU E5200 @250 GHz

Network card: Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller (checked several times, through Windows, it works correctly)

System: Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit with Service Pack 1

    Router: Netgear N600 model #: WNDR3400v2

    Cable router: SBV5220 Surfboard Motorola

Now several months ago this desktop computer once more had SOME programs lose the ability to access the internet via an Ethernet cable.

    Affected programs:

    MS Internet Explorer

    Mozilla Firefox

    Avast! Security Suite

    Work of MS Security Update

    Ping works sites (Yahoo, etc.)

Other computers connected to this network via WiFi - no problem getting on the internet.

Run the network troubleshooter advises all is working properly, no suggestion.

    Attempted fixes:

Turn off all extensions on IE (but don't forget Firefox and Avast! are also unable to access.)

Disabled all start-ups and the package process

Restarted in Safe Mode - still not able to access.

Ran check complete virus, then check virus run start. Minor ad-ware 'virus' not found, all corrected automatically.

Rebooted the router and the computer to infinity and beyond! s

Tried other computers using the same ethernet cable connected to this wireless routers cable, no problem accessing the internet.

    Disabled functions package

    Off MS Firewall

IP Reset configuration (memory: netsh ip net reset c:\resetlog.txt - without DOUBT NOT EXACT - OF THE MEMORY.) Command worked)

As I said, this had happened before and then miraculously fixed itself after a short period (less than 1 week). This time, no joy.

Of course, it's one of two things:

    (1) a configuration problem I just can't find/understand.

    (2) the problem of equipment more strange, more selective, in the universe.

    Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

Thank you more can I possibly Express for assistance.

You could win the lottery and have a lot of beautiful children!

    (M.) Kel

    Hello team zig - zag,

I wanted to thank you for your help. I finally broke down and reached out to our friends at Microsoft directly for assistance. They had me a role through all the things that you suggested (again). And finally (after many hours of phone and chat discussions) came up with an answer: "* shrug * we don't know what is the problem - choose a restore point and come back to that.» What I did. This has solved the problem of internet access, but created other problems I'm trying (nothing that I have to post here, they are specific to a particular program package).

Still, I wanted to thank you for your time and effort on my behalf. I'm very, very happy!

    All my best,
