Broad-band spectral scanning ni5660 the disk?

Hello

I would use the ni5660 to save the (100 MHz) spectrum broadband on the disk.  I understand the limitations of bandwidth in time real (limitation of SDC to 1.25 MHz, 20 MHz bandwidth total possible if dumped first in the amount of memory on-board), but I do not know the limitations of scanning speed (how long can reset the niTuner to a new Central frequency and is there a risk to damage the tuner by sweeping too fast over a long period of time?).  My interest is the 2, 4-2, 5 GHz (ISM band of about).  I would like to imitate the 5660 demo Panel scanning feature, with a backup to disk option and, perhaps, I have Q data instead of amplitude only.  I'll save is worth a day of HD of the PC data.

I'm looking for suggestions and code of y to achieve the highest resolution for adjustment of scan rates given.

Thank you!

Hi Chris,

The 5660 OR not is the best equipment to perform this operation. Mainly because the limitation you mention (1.25 MHz DDC). This means that you can enjoy at the maximum rate (64. MECH / s) and then the software will run the SDC operation that could take a long time. Now, there is no need to worry in tunning faster that the material can, the driver will not let you damage the unit and you will be able to get the data you need into pieces. You will then need to concatenate these data.

The pilot DAMA performs this operation automatically but not the NI 5660 driver. Save all the data for a day would take the enormous amount of time and processing power. I recommend watching some of the latest devices with more bandwidth SDC as the NI PXI-5661 and NI PXI 5663 with respectively 20 MHz and 50 MHz of bandwidth SDC.

If you have any other questions or thoughts about this.

Yardov,

Yes, it's a question of costs.  I have placed a proposal for the 5663, but will not have funding until the summer (or not at all ) and the 5661 would require the purchase of a new chassis SMU anyway.  Thanks for the info on the speed setting!

    Hi MichaelGramm,

It seems that the file format has been corrupted. You might consider formatting the drive in NTFS file system and check if this solves the problem. For Windows 7, the best choice for hard disks is NTFS.

Note: Make sure that you back up the data before formatting the disk.

See these articles for more information on formatting disks and flash player:

  • Error installing Service Pack 3 on XP because of the "disk space" despite 40 GB free

Well, I was working on the installation of some programs for my school (ProE Wildfire 4.0) and to run it, we required some software VSP. When you try to run the software, it gave me errors on missing components and when he tried to download, it gave an error. So I decided to do a Windows Update for I hope to solve this problem and tried to install Service Pack 3 (this a bootcamp partition on a Mac, unfortunately, everything works great on my desk), who was absent, probably because I installed XP only a few months ago. However, whenever I tried to install the service pack, it gives me an error, saying: it took 4 MB more disk and cancel the installation. I got 40 GB free, so I just did a virus scan of the entire system with Symantec and Spybot S & D. Then I made the error of disk checking, defragmentation, disk cleanup, cleanup with CCleaner and cleanup with CleanUp!. And he always gave me the same error. During this time, I realized that Microsoft Security Center was not picking up on my Symantec Antivirus. I had a virus earlier and thought that Spyware S & D and Symantec may have missed something, so I did some research and took measures to protect themselves against a little guy called backdoor.haxdoor.cn. Apparently, I was not according to HSfix and HijackThis. So I thought that Service Pack 2 might have poorly installed and messed up the Security Center and my chances of installation of Service Pack 3. But when I went into Add/Remove Programs (w / visible updates), I couldn't find the upgrade to Service Pack 2 anywhere, that brought me to believe he was present on the XP cd, I have installed since. So I tried to take a break for Service, removing the repository, and then by him restarting. That no longer works. So I gave up on the antivirus error causing the service pack 3 error idea and tried to do some research on service pack 3 generally, but I couldn't find anything really relevant. And now I don't know what to do anymore. Any help would be appreciated.

    silentearth3,
Well, it sounds as if there are a lot of things with your computer.  The first thing I would say is to clean your system startup and then try runnings Windows updates.  Make sure you have any antivirus or firewall programs that may interfere with Windows Update.
Here are the instructions for the clean boot: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/310353

If you still have a question I would then download SP3 to your desktop and try to install from there.  Here are the instructions on how to manually install SP3: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322389/

  • Unable to use the Disk Defragmenter tool in Windows XP

Original title: I use windows xp why used my computer open the disk defragmentation

If I try to open the disk defrag it says the file isint there.

    Hi Gabrella,

I'm glad to know that you've posted queries in Microsoft communities.

According to the description, it looks like you aren't able to open the disk defragmentation in Windows XP.

I have a couple of steps that should help you with this problem.

    Method 1:

Try the fixit and the steps mentioned in this link and check.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/314848

    Method 2:

There are several reasons why the built-in defragmentation may not work correctly:

Step 1. The disk is too full (you need at least 15% free space, sometimes 20%). Solution: Delete files unnecessary and programs until you have more than 20% free space.

    Step 2.

The disc is damaged and must be repaired. Solution:

    a. open "My computer" and right-click on the drive that you want to disable frag.
    b. Select 'Properties' and click on 'tools '.
    c. Select "Check now" to check the drive for errors.
    d. Select the two options and click on 'start '.

(This can take time and can restart the PC so that it can do the check at boot time. Be patient and let it complete).

Step 3. There may be malware on the PC
Solution - run the Antivirus and Antispyware scans (can take a long time if ever made. Be patient):

Viruses can cause these problems. Scan your computer for the Microsoft Security Scanner, which allows to get rid of viruses, spyware and software malware.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx
Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner expire after 10 days from the date of installation.

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

Step 4. If still no luck, try disabling the screen saver when you run Disk Defrag (you should very well leave the system only when running the built-in defragmentation utility).

Step 5. If still no go, try to run the defragmenter in Mode without failure. If she runs, something interferes with it in standard mode and stalking the interference may not be easy. Note: Some versions of Win 7 disable the ability to run the built defragmentation tool in safe mode. If disabled, it will say when you try to start it in safe mode.

Step 6. Disk Defragmenter is no longer on the system or is damaged while it needs a re - install. Solution: Reinstall the built-in function.

There are several ways to re - install the built-in defragmentation tool

    A:
    a. open the "Start" menu.and click run.
    b. type '% Windir%\Inf'

    c. in the window that opens, find the file named «dfrg.inf»
    d. right-click on "dfrg.inf" and "install".

    B:
    a. go into "start > run" on your computer.
    b. Type "rundll32.exe setupapi, InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132% windir%\inf\dfrg.inf" and press "Enter."
    3. click 'OK' to make the program automatically reinstall itself.

    C:
    a. go to start > all programs > Accessories > right click on command prompt > select 'run as administrator '.
    b. at the command prompt, type "regsvr32 dfrgsnap.dll" and press "enter."
    c. type 'regsvr32 dfrgui.dll' and press 'Enter '. This will reinstall the missing files to Defrag.

Keep us updated on the status of the issue. For any help about Windows, you can still post on the Microsoft Community.

  • Amount of disk space available on the disk hard keeps fluctuating.

I have a Compaq CQ2103WM-B desktop running Windows XP, hard disk Go 139.  I started to receive notices of high memory use, began to receive notices of disk space is low. I ran the cleaning disc several times, it has been very slow, constantly showing only 2 bars, sometimes for hours. He finally released the space and I have deleted several programs and files, emptied the trash. After a few minutes the amount of free space started going down again. For several days, I kept repeating this process, but keep decreases the amount of free space on the disk. Now, it fluctuates to the amount of free space on the disk every few minutes. I downloaded and ran CCleaner, it frees up space and again it has disappeared in a few minutes. He got so low that I can't watch videos, use system restore, download other software or software upgrades (like Norton), cannot download pictures from my camera or save files in programs such as Corel Draw. Right now is 3.97 MB free space, he went down in the KBs, sometimes it goes up, but it changes even if I do nothing. I scanned for viruses and malware, Norton managed to reach space, but it lasted only a few minutes. I don't know anything else to try. Would it be a software problem, the malware that Norton cannot detect, the hardware, or if my system has been hacked and someone uses free space on my computer? Any information would be appreciated.

    Hello.

I was wondering if in Win XP or Vista, is there a way to disk defragment multiple devices?

  • Dual Boot with windows XP Pro with 2 HARD drive, error on secondary windows install: "Windows did not start because of a configuration of the disk of the computer problem. Could not read the selected boot disk. Check boot path and disk hardware... »

Hi, I recently bought a new Hitachi 1 TB internal hard drive. I wanted to do a clean install on the new drive (d), be able to dual boot my computer and leave my old 300 GB disk (C :) as the primary windows installation. After physically installing the new HARD drive, I noticed that "new hardware found" and the the brand name flashed in the bottom right corner. I thought I'd see the new hard drive in my computer, but I did not. I initialized the new HARD drive with the computer management window (right click on my computer - manage) and I also formatted in NTFS (I had to change my printer hard drive letter to assign the new HARD drive with the letter D, but I've made other changes after this step). Now, I could see and use in my main windows on the C: installation. I then installed a windows new copy XP pro with the installation CD I got for my C: but on the D: (Note: I have a Dell computer (and the Dell reinstallation CD) and my current version of windows has SP3 while the installation CD is only SP2) (I also reformatted my HARD drive during the installation of windows to NTFS)

Now when I try to start on installing the new on my D: I get "Windows did not start because of a configuration of the disk of the computer problem. Could not read the selected boot disk. Check startup disk and hardware access path. "and another line saying to refer to manuals HARD drive and windows.

My Boot.ini file at this time was:

    [boot loader]
    Timeout = 5
    default = multi (0) disk (0) rdisk (0) partition (2) \WINDOWS
    [operating systems]
    "multi (0) disk (0) rdisk (0) partition (2) \WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional "/ noexecute = optin/fastdetect
    "signature (ac516a5c) disk (0) rdisk (0) partition (1) \WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional own "/ noexecute = optin/fastdetect

I looked towards the top of this help page, but for now I'm unlucky:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/314477

(The next steps I took by throwing from the Windows CD and go into the repair console)

I tried to use the bootcfg /rebuild but the line to boot.ini for my secondary HARD drive still does not work.

    He gave me something like:

    [boot loader]
    Timeout = 5
    default = multi (0) disk (0) rdisk (0) partition (2) \WINDOWS
    [operating systems]
    "multi (0) disk (0) rdisk (0) partition (2) \WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional "/ noexecute = optin/fastdetect
    "signature (ac516a5c) disk (0) rdisk (1) partition (1) \WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional own "/ noexecute = optin/fastdetect

I also tried to change the signature() to multi (0), but it did not work. (or try almost all possible permutations of disk() and rdisk() partition() 0 to 2).

I also tried to use expand F(dvd-drive):\i386\ntkrnlmp(I_have_a_duo-core).ex_ D:\windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe and a few other combinations, but I when I login as D:\windows simply, it fails to extend with a message like "could not develop" or C:\windows I get "restricted access".

I have not yet tried CHKDSK/r, but since I did a clean install on a newly formatted drive... I don't think it would work.

I've also marked the partition on the D: as active (in computer management), but it did not help me.

I've done a first installation of windows repair, strangely, I couldn't fix this one... Still does not work...

My default windows installation yet works very well & I see that windows has been installed on the D: but I'm ideas from how to operate the dual-boot, can someone throw me a BONE on what to do?

Maybe try to do something with the Boot Manager (whatever it is?) Create a new partition and use it as a boot manager? I don't really want to do this, because if I made a mistake I will be unable to use my computer and dual boot should work without going through all this trouble... But I found this page: http://technet.microsoft.com/fr-fr/library/ee829686%28WS.10%29.aspx

Could a clean install two HDD help? I hope I won't have to do...

    Someone has an idea?

PS: I'm not such an advanced user so I need a solution step by step, thanks!

Edit: I also noted that I can't see my new HARD drive in my BIOS... weird... SATA-0 is my old drive HARD 1 and 2 are my dvd 3-5 readers are 'off' and it doesn't seem to be anything that it is plugged in. I also have 4 bays for internal HARD disks. Now, 2 are busy.

Edit2: I looked inside my case and enabled the good Sata in the Bios after a reboot it detected the drive correctly. Dual boot doesn't always work well... The fact that it was disable in the BIOS while I was installing the new HARD drive could change anything? Hmm...

In case I wasn't clear enough: I had a windows XP Pro installed on my C:, bought a new hard drive and installed the same copy of windows on it (d). I think that should allow me to double boot between the two installs different. Even if for some reason I can't boot from one on my D:. Andrew, I do not understand why you so far physically disconnect the other drive, the point of the whole operation is to build a boot.ini file so that the BIOS knows that it y facilities 2 windows and you allow to choose (and not have conflicting problems between the 2 systems), someone correct me if I'm wrong? "Expand" the part of my first post made reference to one of the solutions provided by Microsoft in the first link that I have included in my previous post (but I can't seem to work).

In addition, it is the procedure that I followed: http://www.ehow.com/how_5950826_boot-two-different-hard-drives.html

(except I've had the first installation already done).

Andrew "also, once a new hd is plugged on the pc & running, most of the BIOS will place (them) as 1st priority hd, set the BIOS to do this", you mean that by installing separately from windows on each unit when the other is not plugged in, I could choose what disk to start from defining their priority in the BIOS once they are all plugged back? It's too tedious (as I intend to move frequently between the 2 installs) and requires a computer to other users of the lack of computer knowledge. Unfortunately, it is not a viable option.

EDIT: I DID IT! Hmmm... Well, I double checked in the recovery console, the path of the new HARD drive with the arc command Scan. Tried to start again with the MULTI (0) in my boot.ini and it worked... I also had my windows install CD in. Maybe that is why I could not start, windows needs the CD to complete the installation? Weird, I don't know what I did to the difficulty it... but hey, it works! Thanks for your ideas guys!

  • 'the disk check utility requires exclusive access to Windows__files on disk' (my hard drive). "Re-start of Windows. __

FAILED: attempt recovery of bad sectors (disk hard C)

I followed the instructions to increase the speed of the PC on the home screen of the box to highlight the function of microsoft.com.

I could access the program successfully on my home screen (Windows XP Edition family version 5.1 service pack 3.0).  Phase 1 of the scan completed successfully, but about 70% through the phase 2, the analysis stopped and I got this message: "the disk check utility requires exclusive access to some Windows files on the disk.  These are accessible only by re-starting Windows. "   I was in charge of restarting my computer and repeat the test.  I did this, but got the same message several times in a row.

I use the MS Update center regularly, my Windows XP software has been certified 3 times as being Windows genuine, and I update MS Security Essentials at least every 2 days.  I DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO TRY!  As a general rule, ALL my other Windows functions work correctly & completely of my home screen.

I also welcome Microsoft to have remote access to my computer, so that they can analyze & fix problems as well hardware & software automatically or from the center of MS Fix - IT.

Please contact me at * address email is removed from the privacy * with specific instructions.  I'll try the center of update every day, where you will find all items that can be downloaded to fix this thank you for your continued support.  Joy Knobloch

UPDATE WE CHECK DISK: 2 responses of PML & TWELCH were marked as possible answers.  After you schedule a check disk and shut down your computer, you must WAIT an hour or two before starting.  There is perhaps a long line of users waiting to get their audited records!  I finally managed to get the disk to run check (I also checked the box that says automatically correct errors).  BUT I NEVER GOT A CONFIRMATION MESSAGE THAT DIRECTLY STATED THAT ANY "BAD SECTORS" HAD BEEN RE-COVERED.

LAST QUESTION: Can we assume that if the disk check ran completely and automatically corrected "problems", that the "DEFECTIVE SECTORS" have been found?

It is not clear what you were / are doing.  Try this:

    Start > run > chkdsk /f > OK

A box appears with the following message:

The type of the file system is NTFS.
    Cannot lock the current drive.

Chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by
process.  You want to schedule this volume t
check the next time the system restarts? (Y/N)

Type Y and press ENTER.  Then, restart the computer.

If, during the process that follows, you still receive the message "FAILED: attempt recovery of bad sectors (disk hard C)" or something similar, go to the website of the manufacturer of your drive hard drive and download the appropriate for your hard drive diagnostic tool.

I also welcome Microsoft to have remote access to my computer, so that they can analyze & fix problems as well hardware & software automatically or from the center of MS Fix - IT.

Unless you allowed to access remotely in accordance with a phone call to the support of MicrosoftTHAT YOU HAVE MOMENTUM, you must disable the remote access and Remote Desktop (right click on post work, select Properties, click on the 'Remote' tab).  In fact, you must disable these features now and only reactivate if still initiate you a phone call to technical support Microsoft and will need to enable them.

  • Check the disk does not start if he had to run when you restart the computer.

I selected automatically fix system errors file and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors.
I was prompted to reschedule the disk check for the next time you restart your computer.

However, when I rebooted my computer, nothing happened. No disk check has been performed. I tried tha procedure above a couple of times without success.

Someone please help I was able to do this before, but can't do the job now?  Thank you.

    ACHOIWONG,
Well, it's system files to discover good good news.  Is probably why chkdsk does not work due to not having permission start upward.  Try to run it from an elevated command prompt:
Click Start and type cmd in the box start the search.
Right click on cmd in the list programs, and then click Run as administrator.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue
At the command prompt, type chkdsk c:/r

Try and let us know if it works.
    Thank you
