BSOD - Windows 7 64-bit VM problems

People of greetings,

My apologies if this is a basic question / repeated. Am a newbie and trying to work my way through the implementation of a virtual machine for my new PC at home. Looked through a number of other threads (in addition to searches on Google) and decided to publish it after I couldn't know the answer.

What I did:

1. download the latest version of vCenter Converter Standalone Client (v4.3) and installed on my desktop computer HP with 8 GB of RAM and 1.5 to SATA HDD with Windows 7 64 - bit OS. The detailed specifications for desktop can be found at http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/series/category/desktops/HPE450t_series/3/computer_store

2. created a P2V image with default options with the tracking changes by the limitations of the converter physical version - CPU reduced to 2 of 8 logic/4 physical - and 1 GB of RAM. A took about five hours to create the virtual machine on a joint Seagate FreeAgent external hard drive connected via USB

3 downloaded the latest version of VMware Player (v3.1.3) and installed on HP desktop computer. Copy the virtual image of the external Hardrive to Seagate FreeAGent to a folder on the HP desktop computer. Pulled up the player and changed to 4 processors and RAM 3 GB since the player provides for this.

The problem:

The VM loads and gets to the point where the spheres of four color converge during the boot sequence. And then a BSOD that flashes by quickly and goes to a BACK screen with two options - Windows repair and start Windows normally

Selection of the "start Windows normally ' returns you to the same place, that is to say." a closed loop

Selection of "Repair Windows" does not help because I do not have the Windows 7 installation disc (HP does not ship disks to the Windows operating system and recovery disks don't seem to help with this) as the virtual machine does not seem to access

The Ask:

How can I capture the BSOD details to validate the error code - turned quick snap capture my eyes indicate that it is the error 7 b

Recommendations to address this issue seem to suggest a change to the entries in the SCSI VMX file but my VMX has none of these entries. My VMX file is attached for review.

Would appreciate suggestions/tips/links that will help me to solve the problem

PS: I tried initially to go down the road of Windows Virtual PC where I learned that Windows 7 64-bit is not a guest operating system, but I still have the virtual hard drive during this activity. The virtual hard disk was created using the utility DISK2VHD. Thought I would mention where it is customary.

ide0:0. Present = 'TRUE '.
ide0:0. FileName = "HP450t.vmdk".
ide0:1.present = 'TRUE '.
ide0:1.AutoDetect = "FALSE".
ide0:1.filename = "E:".
ide0:1.DeviceType = "cdrom-raw"

That's what you have now.

We change that to

bios.bootDelay = "5000".
scsi0. Present = 'true '.
scsi0.virtualDev = "lsisas1068".
scsi0:0. Present = 'true '.
scsi0:0. FileName = "HP450t.vmdk".

IDE1:0. Present = 'true '.
IDE1:0. DeviceType = "cdrom-image".
IDE1:0. FileName = "windows7-64 - recovery.iso.
IDE1:0.startConnected = 'TRUE '.

the next time you start, you need to hit ESC - and then select CD as the boot device.

Leave the boot CD and escape any questions

After the initialization is complete, click CMD and run regedit.
Select HKLM, then Menu > file > load hive.
Navigate to the Windows directory on the virtualdisk > system32\config and select the file SYSTEM.
When asked for a name enter p2v.
Then find the key

HKLM\p2v\ControlSet001\services\LSI_SAS

go to the 'start' subkey and the departure of type REG_DWORD 0
Select HKLM\p2v, and then click Menu > file > unload hive.
You can now close regedit and restart.

After that CD-boot the next time should go to hard drive - use safe-boot on the first boot.
most likely, it works now.

Use the attached vmx

  • Laptop MSi S6000 Windows 7 (64-bit) wireless problem. Wireless turns off after fashion "Eve" and unable to understand how to change the settings.

I own a notebook computer MSi S6000 Windows 7 (64-bit). My problem is that any time that my laptop's sleep mode (when I close the lid or after inactivity) wireless connection is cut off the coast and in some cases the wireless card is cut. I end up turning on the wireless card with the

Function key F8 and then have to reconnect with my wireless network.

After "standby" mode, I have to reconnect to the wireless network (without turning on the map).

    ---

I have tried a number of measures to address this problem including uncheck the button 'turn off this device to save power' in the properties and made sure that my laptop ALWAYS connects to the network by making the #1 on the priority list and checking the connection to this network even when it is not being broadcast.

Yet I still couldn't remedy this solution.

Please help if you can. I appreciate your time in advance... happy new 2011!

I don't use Cp3 today much.  Just kept on the case where I needed to upgrade an old project Cp4 then Cp5 someday because you can't go back, before only in versions.

    Hello

References to Vista also apply to Windows 7.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded: run DriverView - set the VIEW to hide
Microsoft drivers - update those without drain in their names. (Also update the BIOS and the weak)
level chipset drivers on the site of the constructor/the system motherboard.)

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,
Description, version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now, click on update
Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right-click.
Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
    each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
    necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
    manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.
    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/HT/driverdlmfgr.htm

Installation and update of drivers to 7 (updated drivers manually using the methods above is)
to ensure that the latest drivers from the manufacturer of system and device manufacturers are are preferably)
    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/43216-installing-updating-drivers-7-a.html

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable the facilities of driver under Windows
Updates, this leaves ONE of Windows updates, but it will not install the drivers who will be generally
be older and cause problems. If updates offers a new driver and then HIDE it (right click on it)
and then go look for new ones manually if you wish.

  • 650 HP laptop Windows 7 64-bit boot problem after installation of the graphics driver

I bought the HP 650 laptop which came with Suse Linux.

I installed 64-bit Windows and tried to install the corresponding graphics driver:

High definition (HD) of Intel Graphics Driver

as indicated in the list of drivers for Windows 64-bit here:

    http://h20000.www2.HP.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=5225013&...

After installing the driver asked me to restart the computer and after the reboot, boot, Windows boot after displaying the Windows logo on black background the computer restarts again before you boot into Windows.

After this crash to start a startup repair is suggested and I can complete the restore of the system that allows me to connect to Windows but I have not installed display drivers and things like Aero do not work.

I tried several times and re - install drivers and had the same problem after each attempt.

    Help, please.

It's quite a few updates failed.  This can be linked to the issue, but we don't know really until the update problem is resolved.

Read this document to Microsoft as it addresses this particular error.  It also has various tools to try in case the first option does not correct the problem.

You can also try the Windows Update troubleshooting utility included in Windows 7.

Go to start > Control Panel > find and solve the problems under system and security > fixed problems with Windows Update under system and security.

    Let me know what happens.

    Hello

    Welcome to the Microsoft community.

This scenario usually indicates a problem with the hardware. Alternatively, the driver can cause this problem.

Event 41 in the following scenarios can occur.

Scenario 1: Restart the computer and there is a stop BugcheckCode error in event data

Click here to show/hide the scenario

Scenario 2: The computer is off by holding down the power button

Click here to show/hide the scenario

Scenario 3: The system restarts randomly, and no error message Stop BugcheckCode is listed, or the computer is completely not responding like it (crashes)

Click here to show/hide the scenario

What is the brand and model of the computer?

Try these steps and check whether that helps you resolve the blue screen error:

    Method 1:

Run them as Diagnostics of the memory of test to check memory problems. See the link for the same mentioned below.

Diagnosing memory problems on your computer

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/diagnosing-memory-problems-on-your-computer

    Method 2:

Please follow the steps from the link below:

    Check a drive for errors

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/check-a-drive-for-errors

    Important:

Running chkdsk on the drive if bad sectors are found on the disk hard when chkdsk attempts to repair this area if all available on which data can be lost.

    Method 3:

Log on to the computer manufacturer website and update the latest drivers for chipset, BIOS (Basic Input\Output System). Also, look for other updates to the device driver.

Updated a hardware driver that is not working properly

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/update-a-driver-for-hardware-that-isn ' t-work correctly

Note: Update of the BIOS can be a complicated process, and if an error occurs, your computer could be rendered unusable. Be sure to observe the instructions of the manufacturer.

    See also:
Resolve stop (blue screen) error in Windows 7
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/resolving-stop-blue-screen-errors-in-Windows-7

Important note: when running chkdsk on the drive hard if bad sectors are found on the disk hard when chkdsk attempts to repair this area if all available on which data may be lost.

Note: the data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means there is a risk of data loss.

In addition, you can also download the minidump files so here experts can analyze the cause of the error on a blue screen.

The following link has information about the use of Windows Live Sky Drive:

  • Problem of graphs with FSX on windows 7 64 bit OS

Original title: operating FSX on windows 7 64 bit OS problems

I finally managed to install FSX Delux on my pc running windows 7 64-bit OS.  After the first start, I select a flight and get nothing more than a flickering screeen with audio narration.  There is a drop down menu that will appear I am unable to interact with.  Finally, I stop the OS and restart to use anything other than what seems to be a "loop" effect in the FSX program.  The graphics do not appear and this is a relatively new pc with I5/AMD card :(  Can someone shed light on this problem that I would like to use the program?

    Hey firefox,.

Here is an article from the Microsoft Knowledge Base that talks about graphics issues with Flight Simulator X. follow the troubleshooting steps. This should solve the problem.

  • Windows 8 32-bit on lenovo yoga 11 s

    Hello

I am trying to format my lenovo Yoga 11 s to change the 8 x 64 windows it came with, for a 32-bit windows (im thinking of windows 8 also). I need this because I need to run the 16-bit windows on the system application, something is not possible on an x 64 system and I tried to use virtual machines, but the program runs just terribly slow...

So I'd start fromatting the hard drive, but I found this:

    https://forums.Lenovo.com/T5/Lenovo-Yoga-series-notebooks/Lenovo-Yoga-11-Windows-8-32bit-is-it-possi...

Apparently, the 11s yoga does not support 32-bit operating systems, how is this possible? So what happens if I install a 32-bit of windows 8?

    Thanks for advantage.

All processors are compatible x86_64, so the only limitation is looking for drivers. Have you tried just to install the OS?

    * Edit * missed a detail on the thread that you had linked. The Yoga 11 was a Windows RT device and not a device Windows x86_64. Your 11 s Yoga is a completely different architecture and must be running Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 32 bit without problems. You need locate if device drivers.
