C drive partion XP

I continue to follow the instructions of the XP partition disk, but I don't get an option of volume shrinkage?

If possible you would be better to put it on a disc of its own, you don't need a very large drive to run the 2000 Server, in its days 40 GB drives were large, 80 GB drives were BIG disks...

Everything in FACT RANDOM, my DVD/RW has stopped working. First he did on my Windows XP PC and I thought, well, maybe it's 6 years old, time to upgrade. BUT now its happened on my laptop. I was watching a DVD at 8 o'clock in the morning. I go to sleep, wake up, DVD players do not work. I have a multitude of technical knowledge so I did everything that a person can do without breaking the system or files or material damage. There is no error and more it can not find any material to burn or play CDs or DVDs. CODES NOT... and the reason is the following:

MY LAPTOP HAS A DVD GHOST ON IT. It is not the real player... I have no idea why it is installed, but it is. The drivers are the SAME ones my car needs.

    Hey Batman,.

The reason why you can not find the driver is because the player is no longer supported.

You can try the following additional methods and see if he has any of it.

    Method 1:

You can look in the article below and run the Fix It or manual steps to delete the upper and lower filter.

  • Windows 7 x 64 upgrd dv6500z disconnected network drives allow usb drive mapping to the same drive letter

    Hello

I'm having a problem with the readers of network disconnected allowing for new drive usb to their drive letter mappings. I have my laptop dv6500z home with windows 7 Home premium connected to my router wirelessly with a couple of shares of x 64. Now I turned off, trip and start. All right, the drive letters show as disconnected as they should. Now I plug in a USB key and it corresponds to the drive letter of one of the disconnected actions and not a new, unassigned drive letter. In Explorer, there will still be disconnected action description. Click on it and it accesses all my files on the USB key. In admin tools/disk management, the correct label for the USB key is displayed.

So is it a problem of HP or just a problem of Microsoft with Windows 7?

Woody, I was able to replicate that XP is not a bug but a feature. On my laptop, it originally had vista on the c drive and a recovery on the d drive partion. There are about 1 1/2 years I have upgraded Vista to XP. Then recently updated to Windows 7. kept the 3 OS's so I got triple starting capability. Then at home, I added 3 network shares, while I was using a lot of drive letters. When actions are undone, Windows maps a USB key which has not been connected before system one of the disconnected but readers still show in Explorer, the name of the drive on the part of disconnected. However, if the USB is connected to the system before, Windows appears to map a drive letter that he remembered from before.

In my case, Windows 7 has been installed recently, so there is no remebered for my USB drive letter. I was away from home, so I had a lot of disconnected shares. In addition, now that I got a 3rd OS added to the system, I used a lot of letters from the GET go by car. It's much more likely that I would meet this feature after installing Windows 7.

  • Pavilion 15-p206tx: 10 windows clean install

I update my windows 8.1 to windows 10 via free update. I don't l, t clean install. I installed the graphics driver nvidia Manager recovery and rebooted the system, but the windows didn, t turn on rather displayed a black screen with cursor blinng. Then I clean my pc pre-installed with windows 8.1 on recovery drive. New 10 update is this time I wanted to clean the windows download install with windows 10. This process erases the recovery disc which is a hard drive partion?

More than likely, the recovery partition will be useless after the upgrade.   Suggest you make a backup image of hard drive using Macrium reflect free on an external hard drive before you do anything whatsoever, not the trial version.

There where of compatibility problems reported before you try to upgrade to Windows 10.

    Hello

I have Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit included with the computer.  I installed Fedorah and it works on my computer.  When I installed it, but I had my hard drive partion.  I left most of the hard drive (about 400 concerts) as it was, when I booted up Fedorah worked well and gave me the option to boot or windows.  When I started in the window, however, it wouldn't let me start my computer, it says I have a problem with my drive.  With XP, it gives me no problem, I didn't ignore the disk check, but with Vista for some reason it doesn't let me start.  It gives me a few options of restoration to the previous status confuses the computer he says I manually type in which windows in the command line.  I don't have my windows CD, the only other option that I have that seems to work when I click it is restoring to factory fault which I don't want to do because I don't want to lose all my files.  Please tell me what I need to do.

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

  • Laptop Inspiron 1545: several problems regarding the recovery / reinstallation

    Hello everyone,

Since this machine has become very slow, I tried to do a system restore or reinstall windows 7 from Dell dvd. Unfortunately, none of these options work.

Restorations: When I call the menu (f8), the first option I get is computer repair (computer repair). Go with this option, the machine takes care of files for awhile, then I choose the language and give admin pwd. After that, I get more options, but Dell Factory Image Restore is not one of these. I checked and there is a recovery on the hard drive partion and tools windows system indicate that it is healthy.

Resettlement: The Dell reappattage dvd just does not play in my dvd player. The machine does not start, and if I try to open the dvd while the computer is running, it fails again. The funny thing is now the dvd opens fine in other machines, while in my inspiron dvd player play other DVDs very well.

So, what choices do I have? I tried to boot from a drive dvd external, but apparently bios does not boot from external devices like usb or usb connected dvd player.

I even tried to copy the image of dvd of resettlement in a new drive, but it does not work because the image is large more than 6 GB so does not fit into a normal dvd.

So I'm out of ideas at the moment. Any help would be welcome!

There is no need to update the BIOS - all versions of the 1545 supported USB boot.  Don't forget your device IS bootable, or it will not be displayed in the startup list.

    http://notebooks.com/2011/02/25/how-to-restore-a-backup-from-an-external-hard-drive-in-Windows-7/

New computers coming often pre-installed with Windows 7 have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.

For HP, press F11 directly after switching on the device

  • STOR.e 2 TB only reads 1 TB of files, should I partion this drive?

I have the tv Stor.e 2 TB. I've known some of my files (downloaded latest) with a question mark next to the file name. At first I thought it was the corruption of files so re-copied, modified format between other files and still would not play. The previous files that I copied still play, but not the files later.
Then I put the same files on a memory stick and plugged in at the back, he then played these same files, so conclusion was that it cannot be the file format or the files themselves.

Since I read on this forum that may be material that can not read as many files. The hard drive is almost exactly half full. Then think that if I format the hard drive in two were leaving this will solve the issue.

Cannot be done with the native tools of Windows XP.  You need a 3rd party disk partitioning tool.

  • full c but partioned d drive has plenty of space

the compartmentalized my hard drive c drive is full, how it increase by taking of the d drive that has loads of space to this topic?

    Hello

You cannot extend the partition until the partition that is to be annexed is an unallocated partition
Follow the steps and check if that helps.
a.Backup the files to the D drive to and external device and delete it.
b.Select C drive, do drag the right border to the right to hold no allocated space removed from the D Partition.
c.You will find that the Partition D is added to the C drive, click apply to move forward.
    See also:
    Backup and restore
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/products/features/backup-and-restore

Alternatively, if you do not have an external hard drive, you can follow the procedure.

a.Right click drive D on Shrink which will create unallocated space.

b.Right click the unallocated space and create a new partition (drive E).

d.Copy data from the D drive to E drive.

e.Now you can right click and delete the D drive.

f.Now, right click on the C drive and extend it to an unallocated space.

Note: Be sure to back up the data on an external device.
