C40-ISDN E1 link

Hello

We're going to have to be paired with the C40 and PRI 30 channels ISDN link. I would like to know the number format, can we call to the other endpoints with the PSTN number, or do we need to compose the format "IP; H320 number?

Can we able to compose other endpoints like polycom points?

TNX

Bobby

Simply dial the number string old format complicated when you run the original firmware of IL1.0 on the ISDNLink.

If you upgrade to IL1.1.x (choose the latest version because she fixes OpenSSL software inside) you can only select H.320 as Protocol and dial the number.

  • matching codec c40 with ISDN link problem

    Hello world

Would really appreciate if someone can help me with my problem.

I have 2 sites. Each site has a c40 codec which is connected to a cisco ISDN link box. Each box contains 3 BRI connections. The system is essentially set up at the video-conference from one site to the other. C40 codecs have been paired with boxes of ISDN link manually due to the old firmware. Now that the firmware has been upgraded on all devices, I am trying to pair the codec with the ISDN link using the 'auto' mode so I can configure the ISDN codec c40 GUI link.

The problem I have is that when I pair it in auto mode, the ISDN link is seen by the codec and matched succesffuly but I get an "error" and the reason for the error is "no sip registered to peripheral H320" or something of the sort. The rest of the configuration is the same, all im doing is pairing in auto mode. At this point, I can't do a video call-out. Can I make changes to the GUI hoewever c40 ISDN link and it shows as paired.

When I change the sip profile out to 'off' in the sip codec c40 profile settings, now, there is no error. The sip profile in the ISDN link area is also set to off.

Can someone help me what are the correct settings for outgoing SIP and the above error message please. It will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hello

Outgoing SIP should be turned off if you use the ISDN codec liaison, so please meke it took off.

for the composition, should not use composition commnad complex that you scoop with TC 5.x and IT 1.0,

With TC 6.x just enter number and select protocol H320.

  • For another interface ISDN Bri ISDN bri backup

This is probably a stupid question

But if you wanted to save an ISDN Bri ink with ISDN another link what would be the best way to go about this?

    Thanks in anticipation!

I think that practically all the variants that are normally considered to establish the backup of an interface are possible:

-backup interface would work. The normal warnings on the impact of the backup interface apply. If, in doing so, it may be preferable to backup on a dialer that interface return upward at the IRB.

-floating static routes might work. The challenge with floating static routes is that primary BRI is not likely to go the Protocol which is what triggers usually floating static. So to work around this problem, you want to use the new feature of reliable static routes with the purpose of follow-up.

-Watch Dialer would work. I woule think this might be the best choice in your situation.

-If you use OSPF as your routing protocol configuring ISDN as Circuit request would probably be a reasonable way to get the second ISDN to back up the primary.

Decide which option is best depends on your particular situation that are actually needs. I don't think that it is possible to give a general answer that would cover all cases.

  • Advise on the edge 95

    Hello

I would like to learn more about Edge 95 especially on the part "4 videoconference and teleconference audio 3.

How does it work? It includes 4 video and audio 3 at the same time?

We have a client who asks for Edge 95

I am aware that it is already EOL and the replacement is SX20.

But the SX20 covers all the features of dashboard 95, such as the IRB and Connector (RCA, S-Video)

So I think of the SX20 / C40 + ISDN link. (Quick question: which is close to cutting-edge features 95, SX20 or C40?)

But I don't know about some of the audio conference. Please help on the audio portion.

    Need your advice on this

    Please notify

    Best regards

Yes, that's right - the multisite license allows you to have yourself + three other participants - you can have a total of 7 - unless you use a form any MCU.

The older edge MXP could do the full 7 (yourself and three others by video and audio 3 extra - as long as everything was in the throttling of 2304kbpds), but as you said, the Edge 95MXPs went to end of sale on May 14, 2013, so are no longer available.

  • Cisco Telepresence ISDN link with endpoint SX20

    Hello

I have two SX20 and an ISDN connection.

Knowing as ISDN link manage calls for an endpoint, how can route calls to Internet of endpoint connected to the ISDN link box?

Is their any possibility to separate between ISDN and IP calls?

    Thanks and greetings

    Driss

The ISDN link can be connected to both the ISDN services and your local network to make calls over IP or ISDN.  See the example of the C40 "Combining of ISDN and IP" in the link ISDN data sheet and the section on outbound calls in the Setup Guide.  These are also detailed in the Administrator's Guide.

  • Registration of VCS for LINK C60 / ISDN

Good people, another noob question: we have points of endpoint (Local) that are a combination of a Codec (C40 and C60) who are matched with an ISDN connection. The customer currently uses the Codecs from point to point and conference (4 participants) limited bridge. We bought a 5320 MCU, VCS and TMS. I'm a little confused on how we can get the Codecs and links properly registered and VCS (TMS).

We must register those endpoints for VCS points and be controlled by TMS. We do not save the Codecs and links ISDN separately for VCS, and if so, we put the ISDN links in the area of ISDN?

I can see on the Codecs that I can define a H.323 Gatekeeper, but I'm a little more naïve about how to save the ISDN links. I went through several "Getting Started" and the Configuration Guides for ISDN connection (and also for Codecs), but at the moment I'm a bit confused.

Most of the video conferences will be by IP and maybe a single to an external endpoint ISDN connection. These conferences will be either point to point or bridge for a 5320 MCU.

If anyone can point me to a good, concise reference source, I would be grateful.

TIA and sorry to be a noob.

    Mark

    Hi Mark,

As Patrick alluded above, I have experience with these things before.  Yes, you can save all your endpoints to your VCS points so they can all call each other and the 5320MCU, although the device that is attached to the ISDNLink will be capable of scoring calls or rear via ISDN.

So, as you have summised above, the C60 with the ISDNLink to connect to ISDN part and then also participate in the Conference of 5320MCU.  This means that the C60 must get a Multisite License installed to manage calls video of what he'll do next part.

If you have additional questions, feel free to ask.

  • SX20 and link ISDN with TC6

    Hi guys,.

I recently upgraded a SX20 and link ISDN to the new TC6 and after the upgrade, I can't make ISDN call.

I can see and manage the ISDN link from the SX20 configuration web page, but the status of the ISDN connection is: error, SIP not saved.

I use H323 network and I don't use SIP between SX20 and ISDN link and with the old version, I could receive and make calls. Now when I try to dial the ISDN using the new interface TC6 endpoint indicates that it does not find the ISDN link.

    Thank you for your help,

    Adrian

Hi Adrien, Valentine's day.  Theres something happens with outgoing enabled on the link and the Codec for this, and we have two CDETS opened on them.  There are always SIP service is enabled on the Codec with link and link itself.  Codec uses IPV6 local links for the link itself.  Even if the sip xstatus on the codec has its inactive etc, the codec message still SIP REGISTER to the device registration link.  Link runs a FWD SIP process that handles the request.  Sorta like a mini SIP registrar if you want.  Codec will send the message to REGISTER using link-local IPV6 address.  Example of message is less than 200 Ok.

I removed my own addresses, so you get the picture here.

It is the same for the link.  Link will send REGISTRY as well to himself.

Even if your using H320 as outgoing Protocol call, messaging between the codec and the liaison unit is still SIP as the outgoing call is still SIP of the codec for the link even if you chose H320.

You can see all happening all by running: Journal ctx sippacket debug 9 and connect the output to see the messaging back and forth between devices.  This is why the Service SIP on the codec cannot be disabled.

The outgoing enabled on both devices and it records not as what Adrian has met is odd. So the question has been filed and is under investigation.

CSCue57128 - SIP in a strange state connecting to link ISDN (Codec)

CSCue73049 - outbound SIP on ISDN link activation causes lose her registration (link)

These are new, so the visibility may not be there yet.

If you see a problem with the link is not not able to register, check to see if outgoing SIP are enabled on the link.  If so, turn it off and start.

Do the same on the codec as well.  Disable outgoing SIP and restart the computer.  There may be some cases, you do not see this, as the investigation continues with the bug above two ID's

    I hope this helps.

  • Hide the warning of record to link ISDN configurations.

Hey guys, pretty simple question which might not have an answer.

We set up a bunch of SX20s with ISDN links, and each end by showing "is not (System_Name).

It seems a little messy and is almost certain to make the user think that there is a fault as soon as the slightest thing goes wrong, like the end does not turn when they try to call or something.

A way to hide it or the name of system to show strength?

I hope I'm just something very stupid.

: D ! Bonus points: how to display the ISDN number entering as appositive on behalf of the ISDN link connected.

When you are connected with an ISDNLink, endpoint and the link communicate via SIP, so there is no need (if you are not also connected to an IP network) to have H.323 enabled at all.  If you set H.323 to off, it will be also get rid of the message "not registered".

Just put it to 'direct' If you use it via H.323 independently to make calls over an IP network as well as the ability to use ISDN.

  • matching link ISDN question

    Hello

I have a problem of coupling between sx20 and ISDN connection, the version of the software on sx20 is TC6.3.0.3d8e7d1 and ISDN connection

IL1.0.0.291516 release of Cisco TelePresence ISDN link,

Also, I need to know the modem connection, providing ITSPS, I should connect on which port there are 4 ports, s/t, U, telephone1 telephone2 and how many pairs of cable I should do to connect to these ports.

    Thank you

    Hello

What do you see as you say you have a coupling problem?

Generally, we recommend to be on IL1.1.0 with TC6.x. here, you will have an automatic matching with the ISDN link. IL1.0 do not have that.

There are instructions on how to update your ISDN link in this document.

  • Of packet losses causing ISDN link

You do no way, it was not designed to be is supposed to work this way, allowing you to make IP or ISDN calls.  We have ours up and running in this way and it works well.

One thing to check would be the network cables that you are using - good markets and bad cables can often cause problems when using a quality cable can solve the problem.

Check your switch configuration to make sure that you are not forcing a setting the speed/duplex, which then is not being properly negotiated by the equipment then plug (or make sure that force you the settings the entire path if you need to do).

  • TMS Directory link ISDN paired devices

    Hello world

I currently have a problem trying to get a directory TMS containing details of ISDN on a SX20 with an ISDN connection.

I created a manual list directory in TMS that contains details whether H323 or ISDN for various parameters.  The directory is detected by the SX20 and it shows all the details of H323, but none of the ISDN are listed.  The same directory, when it is applied to an edge 95, displays all the entries.

I tried to create a directory containing only the ISDN numbers, and assigning that to the SX20 and then nothing is indicated.

My first impressions are that that TMS has information as an 'ISDN' entry, and as SX20 has similar directory information stored in the form "H320", that the two are not compatible / correcftly - translation and so it's a TMS bug and/or TC software.

In addition to the telephone directory, all the other functionality works as expected.

    Versions:

    TMS: 14.1.1

    SX20:TC7.0.1

    ISDN link: IL1.1.0

Edit: I tried to push the same directory for a C60 and who was not either - TC6.3 - only the H323 entered were seen running - ISDN those lacking, is not purely a matter of SX20.

    Hello

There is no link to the SFT ISDN support. When 'route telephone directories' is set to Yes, TMS removes the entries she wants not the point endpoint to deal, that is what is happening here. TMS knowledge, SX20s cannot dial numbers H320.

  • The upgrade of Cisco ISDN Link software

    Hi guys!

Miss me something, when you try to download the software on the ISDN link. I have the connected to the PC via a serial cable, I can then go into the API with HyperTerminal and set the root password, but when I try to connect with WinSCP I just get the error ' gethostbyname: unknown error "." I need to enter the hostname of course, this is a silly question probably, but that is the same as the name of the system unit?

I can't use the URL method since we have no internet connectivity for the device.

Any ideas would be very welcome, it's probably something very simple that I'm missing. The current configuration is the default value of the plant besides the root password change.

WinSCP requires that your ISDNLInk and your PC are both on the IP network, it is not copy on a serial connection, you are just using the connection set for call orders.  Similar to the TFTP method (what you can do on your own TFTP server, it cannot be the one on the Internet).

Another option, which I think the best way to upgrade an ISDNLInk, is to do it via the web interface of the SX20 or some point of endpoints that you use with and you can download the file via your web browser.

  • Issue with LINK ISDN and VCS

    Dear Expert

Link ISDN is capable of working with VCS?

As I go through the link Cisco TelePresence ISDN administrator guide, he said that endpoint must be registered at VSC when you use the mode ISDN PRI E1 and ISDN BRI Euro type.

Is that means whenever I want to make a call ISDN with ISDN LINK, I de-register endpoint of VSC on gateway H323 and SIP pox

Currently my endpoints use VCS as gateway H323 and SIP pox

    Hello Tung!

I wasn't looking for it, but I would say that the Administrator's guide shows just examples, which could

    be configured, not exclusive requirements.

See the section called "Complete example with an IP infrastructure" and VCS

In short, endpoint is connected to ISDNlink device and the ISDN link records for VCS.
