C4599 fine facility - which goes away in a day or two!

Hi all!  I just bought a C4599 (have been a passionate lover of HP printer for more than 10 years) and with enthusiasm the value it upward and I love it but I'm having a recurring problem which can force me to go back for another printer.  I contacted HP technical support by email and rec would be very sparse help, until then thought I would try here.  I * DID * search on the forum and found a problem similar to this one but it had not yet been resolved in a solution and it's a little different (he said his continuous printer to work properly, but only its scanner disappears - in my case the whole printer disappears).

So here's the config:

(1) C4599

(2) portable Toshiba, the two Vista running (one is my wife, it is mine) - Although there are certainly differences between the two for personal use, I do all the updates/maintenance on them (and they are identical models) so, from the material point of view, they are identical and software point of view they are nearly identical (in regards to service packs, drivers, etc.)

(1) type of computer (prior bench-tech, current software engineer retail) experienced enough - don't say not no way that I know all this!

The initial installation and the results:

(1) installed the printer via the USB port using my laptop worked great - printer configured to run wireless on my local network via DHCP

(2) removed the USB cable and ran the new installer - this time change the setting using the printer now without thread - worked great!

(3) Ran the software on my wife's cell phone, set up the printer without wire - worked great!

(4) after that about a day, I noticed, when you try to print, the printer is no longer my choice of printer.  It simply isn't there.   The HP Digital Imaging Monitor also said that he is not here.

(5) laptop my wife shows it is connected to the printer fine and prints successfully.

(6) I notice that in the NETWORK Panel (on my laptop), the printer is still there - but restart my laptop has no effect.

(7) I have reinstall the software on my end, the printer is located - works great!

(8) problem is repeated several times on both of our phones over several days.  Whenever symptoms are almost exactly as described above.  Each one laptop can still use the printer while the other cannot (but don't read this to say never two laptop computers don't see the printer, they DO!  Once I have newly install the software on the laptop with, TWO laptops CAN THEN SEE the PRINTER - AND USE IT!  "But it's just a matter of time before it one of them 'loses' the printer... and sometimes both of them lose).

(9) I then changed the printer a static IP address that I am sure no other devices on my network to fight for (it's outside of the DHCP pool and all the rest of my network is DHCP).  This has not solved the problem in a day or two, the printer has disappeared again.

(10) I sent HP technical support and received a long document that describes how to open ports, to disable security settings, etc..  Even if it seems useful, it seems odd to me - I think that if I can see and use the printer (including scan) without any problem for a day or two then things like ports closed and too high security settings is not the problem - but what I know.

(11) so I go to step 1 enamel, HP and step 2 so I am told:

Format, the size of the Document adjust settings accordingly.
6. click on the scan button.

(12) However, after doing all this and go to step 5, I see no. SCAN 'button' - in fact, nothing really "scan."  The web server page is very pretty and has areas for me to see the wireless configuration (and change) and do a few different things and the page looks complete - but no "scan" function cannot be found.  I know that the scanner is working normally, even though b/c I used it successfully several times.

After you send the results to HP 3 days ago and received no response, I got to a point to give up - I'm far too busy to deal with a printer that needs to be reinstalled every day or two and nowdays return periods on most computer stuff is fifteen days while I'm about to consider fair return in a few days.  I hope you guys here can help me solve this problem!  (PLEASE)

I know it's length was trying to provide as much information to information. that I could think of.  I appreciate all the comments that can lead to this problem being fixed.

Thought I'd post an update.  I went through the firewall document you provided, but it doesn't seem to help, not found any printer.  I reinstalled the software and that he was going to see if reinstalling AFTER opening of the firewall would make a difference, but the next morning the printer had disappeared and when I looked at the screen was black - the printer was locked up AGAIN (happened to me once some time last week).  I got fed up and said enough is enough and fired.  Due to my love along the HP printers and useful suggestions, I decided to go there and try another HP.  I even convinced myself to try another model wireless - but I decided to hedge my bets a bit and stepped into a whole new category: the OfficeJet (J6480).  The C4599 sought better but man, long-wise, the J6480 is * AWESOME *!

I must say, install it was * PAINFUL *!  I started by uninstalling completely all the HP printer software of two laptops.  Then I installed the software, it finds the printer, everything was working fine until the installer had completely finished - then, suddenly got a message saying that the printer could not be found.  I have preview with this thing for about an hour without result (has moved to the AP, reinstalled the software, etc.).  Then I happened to put IP of the printer for static and in doing so found that installing the software was, who knows why, assigned an IP address to the printer that was far from what my DHCP is used!     Arrrgggh!  My DHCP is used from 192.168.1.200, and for some reason, the printer has been at an address in the 168.x.x.x range (I forgot what it was exactly).  After monkeying with the installation of the software for a while trying to figure out how to set a static IP address (which was the only way to do it on the C4599) I finally looked in the menu of the printer and find the option there.  Once I put the static IP address it I then reinstalled the HP software again and I walked the firewall document you provided and made sure everything was good there.  And then bada-bing, the printer is online and has worked beautifully - and, so far, it is still online!  (Keepin ' my fingers crossed)

I'll give it a few days more and give you a last update if this thing is still online as long.

    You use a desktop or laptop computer?

    Is the mouse a mouse wired or wireless?

    What is the brand and model of the computer and the mouse?

    If you are using a laptop, I suggest to change the sensitivity of the mouse pad.

    If this is a wireless mouse it might be interference from another close to the mouse. Make sure that speech recognition is not enabled.

  • on my network card, a question mark appears that wasn't there. He appeared as a "switch" until I disabled "sharing network". He went away for a day and returned. This is a hack of nieghborhood?

    My mother is a modem from Qwest. I'm on a laptop with wireless on the same account. We were on a homegroup network. I found a question mark on its network card and a photograph camera, on mine with the name 'switch' and no other info on this subject between the computer and the modem peak. I called Qwest and they said they didn't know what it was. So I disabled all the sharing network. He went away. 2 days ago.     I have a BrowserField2 which loads a specific page. While it loads I have 'Please wait' Popup but it goes far much more early to meet up with a blank screen until the page loads. This can confuse users.

    I want the Popup to stay until the page is loaded to 100%.

    What I am doing wrong?

  • CC police goes away after I used it for months

    I was using the Alexa Std fonts, which I synced months ago using earlier versions of CC. Today, it is there. Then tonight, he disappeared. I checked on Windows/fonts and checked that it was missing. I went to the CC, but he said that the police were always synchronized.     I was able to get the problem solved. I contacted the support typekit team (e-mail address: [email protected]) and a good person named Molly responded the next morning. Here is the solution, what they suggested. I tried and it worked!

    • I'm sorry for the trouble. There are a few things we can check everything out right away to start debugging this:
    • -First of all, make sure that you are connected to the application of creative cloud with the same Adobe ID you use for Typekit. Account information are under Preferences > General.
    • -Then try to disable the synchronization of fonts in creative application Cloud, wait for a moment, and then turn it back on. The option to do so is under the gear icon in the preferences > creative cloud > fonts (Typekit 'power').
    • The fonts that you had previously selected for the use of sync should now automatically synchronize to the tab fonts in the creative cloud application.
  • Crystalstark.co.za has a response email facility which Mozilla does not use, but Internet Explorer will use to launch Outlook express. Help, please.

  • Not good at El Capitan Snow Leopard: which goes back?

    Well, I'm in trouble, I think. I have improved my Early 2008 iMac (2.4 Ghz 4 GB ram) machine of 10.6 Snow Leopard to El Capitan (reason: so I could save my new iPhone6s - was not recognized in iTunes in 10.6). What is OS El Capitan somewhere cool, but oh oh oh how it slowed the computer. I am a photographer running Adobe LIghtroom, and sometimes the computer literally stops responding. I need to keep my iPhone saved, so I plan to go back in the OS to one of the following:

    OS X 10,10 "Yosemite", 10.9 "Mavericks" 10.8 "Mountain Lion", 10.7 "Lion"

    It would be great to go back just to one of these, but the #1 problem is that I have never owned one any of them. I went directly to El Capitan in Snow Leopard.

    The next option I guess would be back to 10.6 SL and then upgrade from there. #2 problem is that I already have a SuperDuper! backup my iMac to El Capitan running. I have no copy, what her backup or system disks, with OS 10.6 Snow Leopard for my 2008 iMac. (I have 10.4 Tiger which was for an iMac PowerPC G5 and 10.6 who was for my MacBook Pro 2010. "I am sure that these are useless for my 2008 iMac).

    Should which way I follow to get to one of these operating systems? I would like to buy a new computer, but I would like to find a solution to give at the moment. Should I go buy a system for one of the OS disk, I want somewhere?

    The next question, I've seen a few discussions, is that OS would reasonably execute such as Snow Leopard, but also let my iPhone6s to be recognized in iTunes?

    Looks like you need to do some third party editing software, because 10.11 works very well on this iMac.

    You could also try to replace one of the modules of 2 GB with a 4GB module and run with 6 GB to see if that helps.

    ESX 4.x introduced a new feature called HotPlug. In some deployments cards virtual network may appear as removable devices on the system tray in Windows operating systems. Problems can occur if you confuse this device for one that you can safely remove. This is especially true in the VMware View environments, where there is a constant interaction with the desktop. Do not remove the virtual network adapters in the Windows system tray.
    There is a demand for change identified in the KB resolution for our models of windows. I have never seen this before and is reluctant to make changes to the basic models. Does anyone know what specific deployment scenerio causes this anamoly of system tray?

    the Connect feature is not an anomaly, and it occurs not only with specific deployment scenarios. It introduces the possibility of adding hot and hot / deletion of certain devices of harware (such as the network interface cards) and to a virtual machine (if the guest operating system also supports) regardless of the manner in which it was deployed.

  • Red/purple/magenta strange "shadow" that goes away and then comes back

    I'm having some trouble with an odd coloring going on inside LR.

    When the file is loaded, it looks like this:

    Once you touch ANY cursor (or do anything really), this happens:

    Notice the weird red/purple/magenta area around his mouth and cheeks.

    Someone has ideas of what is and how to stop it from happening?   I had some suggestions that it could be a moire caused by the texture of the veil, but it seems strange that LR he was entitled to be with.

    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

  • impression of several cell: image goes away from paper

    I am trying to print 2 or ideally 6, 2 "photo squares for a visa. 2 to the top or 6 upwards, whether I can get the layout looks great in LR, but when I print the images almost don't fit on paper. I tried both retain 'size' and "auto develop."

    I use pgp 4 x 6 paper Epson with a 3880. Selection of paper 4 x 6 in layout (sheet feeder).

    I tried the 0 cell spacing 0 margins and also small increments for these parameters. I've done it before with success, so I don't know what goes wrong. Anyone have any ideas?

    Ideally, the images will be exactly 2 "square (the image is cropped already square), so I guess not do without borders is best and keep the images of the edges. But even with only 2 does not work. The cell size is 2.0 inches.

    Ah, this is the setting of enlargement without borders, in the Epson dialog box, under layout settings. He moved to min max, and it worked like a charm.

  • Former libraries aren't going away!

    Hi people:

    I use often "CLT" or "RT", click the icon of the PCF in the dock to launch one of my recent libraries of CPF.  For some reason, old libraries that I finished and completely deleted my computer and my readers will always display in the choice to open FCP.  If I try the 'open' nothing happens - FCP is not even launch (I guess because they do not exist).  However, they still appear in the list of "recent" on the dock.  For the life of me I can't find a way to get rid of these "ghosts" of the past.  I tried trashing prefs.  I tried clearing recent in the Menu open, I even tried to "throw" from the dock as you do to get rid of the program icons, that you no longer need it.  All to nothing does not.  Does anyone know how to clear these if "recent" not of the dock once and for all.  I fear to imagine the 'ghosts' list that might still be there after a year of work.

    I'm running 10.2.3 - with OS X El Capitan 10.11.6 - FCPX on a 2015 21.5-inch iMac - 2.8 GHz Intal Core i5 - 8 GB ram - Intel Pro Iris 6200 1536 MB

    Would appreciate some help or ideas.
