Can't burn CD in Itunes (error 2131)

De : Pope

Message: I recently bought one new Toshiba Windows Vista laptop, other than my current number, I love it!  I have downloaded Itunes this morning, imported my ipod music... all right.  However, when I went to burn it to a CD, I received this error message, "try to burn the disk fails, an unknown error occurred (2131), then my CD jumped."  I burned the CD in the past on other computers, using Itunes!  I've been messing around all morning, trying to find a solution and I am at my wits end.  It's probably something stupid that I am too looking, at least I hope.  Can someone help me please?

Thank you, Pope

It seems that you must update the firmware of your burner according to this piece of information...

This may not affect you, but it seems a common problem according to google search

  • Satellite A210 - cannot burn CD - R using iTunes - error 2131

    Hi all

I know that I'm not the only person having this problem, but I get error 2131 when trying to burn CD - R help (v7.6) iTunes on Windows Vista with an Equium A210 TSST Corp TS-L632H CD - DVD writer.

I tried all the usual things like the update of drivers, operating system, try different CD - R etc but no joy so far.

I noticed a similar thread that was closed with the solution to use CD - RW instead of CD - R that unfortunately does not solve my problem because my audio CD drive cannot handle CD - RW (although the CD - R is very good).

    Practical suggestions anyone?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello, Alan

At present, there is no solution, and you can only use CD - RW media. Sorry, but your situation when the CD player does not read the CD - RW media, you're just out of luck.

  • Satellite Pro M300 - error 2131 when burning CD - r in itunes

    Hi all

I know that this question of error msg is very old, but I can't seem to solve the problem.
I can't burn CD - Rs in itunes, it comes up with * error 2131 * which is apparently an error number that is very well known.

I downloaded RegCure to fix, but because it is a work laptop I can change the registry, because I don't have the admin rights.
I can burn CD - RW using iTunes, but they do not work in my car CD player.

I understand that it is a firmware issue and nothing to do with itunes.

    Please help me

    See you soon,.
    Scott

    Hello!

You're right, it's a firmware issue. In the knowledge base of Toshiba I found this document about the error 2131:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB84026P0000R01.htm

I think that the Satellite M300 is not a European model, it s an American model. So the site search Toshiba for a update of the firmware:

  • Equium A200: Error 2131 burning CD with iTunes

    Hi all

I myself have very recently a laptop Equium A200. I used to use iTunes much to burn on PC previous - and is a key reason to buy this laptop in the first place! However...

When I try to burn, I get an error message (2131) from iTunes, I googled the problem and to see that many people with laptops from different manufacturers have the same problem - and sees only an update to resolve this, but can't find out what Toshiba have available to make me burn using iTunes?

Can someone point me in the right direction?

    Help, please!

    Rob.

    Hello

As I wrote already in thisthread, you must contact iTunes support and ask what the problem may be.

I'm really interesting if anyone here on Toshiba can help you with this. Sorry, but I'm pretty skeptical about it.

  • Can not burn blank CD on Equium A200-1VO - unknown error occurred (2131)

    Hi all

I have never been able to burn a blank CD using the rewritable CD drive on my Equium A200 1VO.
    I am using TDK CD - R80 700 MB ', 'up to 52 x speed"blank CD

This is the error I get when I try to burn a disc in iTunes:
The attempt to burn a disc failed. An unknown error occurred (2131).

    Any suggestions?

    Mike.

    Hello

AFAIK this peacekeepers of error message by using the CD - R disc.
Check if you can burn the CD - RW? On my laptop I can burn files on CD - RW iTunes correctly.

    By the way:
If your laptop has the reader of the TS-L632 CD/DVD then you need to update the firmware as suggested here in this article from Toshiba

  • HP 15 Notebook PC: iTunes error 4450 - can't burn CDs

I bought this laptop 2 months ago. It has all the latest updates installed. I bought the laptop computer mainly to house all my files itunes, images and videos. I managed to transfer all the data to the laptop, but my first attempt to burn a CD from itunes, I got an "unknown error 4450.  I then tried burning the files manually on a drive using the Cyberlink burning software which is installed on the laptop and it also did not work.  It starts as it will burn the disc, runs for 30 seconds and then stops and opens drive poster "Audio CD - #0xEB020BED - an unknown error has been found.

Because I could not manually burn a cd, I suppose that the problem is in the laptop and is not iTunes.  It seems that something is wrong, but I don't know how to solve this problem.  Because the laptop is new, a system restore probably will not solve anything, especially if it's a failure of construction plant.  If I can't burn CDs on this unit, he was buying at all.

    Please notify.

For those seeking the resolution of a similar error, it was a setting in the default programs in the laptop. The WIndows Disk Image burner is by default to read mp4 files. Once I changed that, it works great now in iTunes and Power2Go.

PS: when I record with nero, I keep having this message on the relatory of the engraving: 'power, calibration error' but only i when I try to burn Cda´s... DVD recording has not this problem

I have to update some drivers?

Please, any help would be great, or I'll have to make a big trip to resolve the problem on the laptop store.

    Hello

I'm afraid you will have to make a trip: (m
Information about the burning process was very useful.
    This confirms my fears.
In my opinion there is not a lot to do and the drive needs to be replaced. There is a power calibration error. This happens if the lens can not calibrate correctly. If you use different media the lens must be calibrated every time before the combustion process will begin.

I think that you will need to contact the Toshiba ASP in your country
