Should Microsoft Vista drivers operate printer Brother HL-1240? I recently downloaded updates for Vista, and now I can no longer print on my printer Brother HL-1240. Updates are perhaps the cause of this problem? If this isn't the case, please let me know if I get the problem somewhere else.

    Hello

Your question is could a Windows Update may be charged a wrong Brother Printer Driver? Yes.

One way to know is to look in the history of updates to see what has been installed and uninstall then one that seems incorrect.

If you are an update of the Microsoft printer driver note that Microsoft updates pilot equipment for other manufacturers are not normally updated.

    Here's how to uninstall specific updates;

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/remove-an-update

If an update is the problem and stop it reinstall > list of updates to install > right click on the incorrect update > UAC prompt > and then click Hide.

    See you soon.

p.s. Always get the latest updates of the driver from the hardware manufacturer.

Also would it be a good idea if above does not work to download the last direct Brother printer driver; If necessary reinstall your printer...

  • Update Windows Vista turns off my sound

An automatic update of Vista took place on March 12, 2009 and after that my sound does not work (no matter what program was used).

I used the system restore to choose a restore before March 12 point and this has restored the sound that works perfectly again.

However, probably my automatic update system will soon install the same update to Vista and I will lose her again!

My system seems to be (read from the Greek of invoice - all for me!):

    Can anyone help?

    Devonsarrie,

Have you checked to see if you have the latest drivers from the manufacturer of your motherboard sound card and or computer? In addition, it is difficult to diagnose what exactly happens if he is yet to break. I could autoupdate once and see if you or do not have the same results with your sound on your computer. If he does go back, check your drivers and make sure you have the latest version. After that, we can find out what caused the pilot of its operation and how we can go fixing it.

    Thank you

  • Unable to update Windows Vista

    Hello

So my father saved for months to buy this computer for me.  Unfortunately I am only now clear on things.  I understand prior to Windows 7, they have launched.  (I could not afford a brand new) so I have Vista.

I've been very happy with Vista and just found out that I could have installed an update for Vista long ago that would really help the strength of my computer and increase longevity.

Of course when I thought of the good idea to do so just a minute ago - he told me that it was no longer available.

However, I saw that the last update/extension or anything that is uvailable until July 2011.

I understand that the the bottom line is his #1 priority is Bill Gates (or one who directs Microsoft), but I constantly afraid that my computer will crash again or something will happen to him and he will die.

I can't afford to Windows 7, Microsoft Office 7 and if I could I would buy it.

I can't help but do not have a job and I think that if I buy a car... I should still be able to get his oil changed no matter if there is a newer verson I could ' ugrade to. "

I don't have to and I don't have the money to do that without employment.

I'm very interested to see how you react.

I hope that you first put the visitors and do not give me an excuse of why it would be harmful to my computer to download the vista update.

    Thank you very much.

  • Equium A210 - updates after Vista, I get a black screen

Recently installed updates for Vista, computer restsarted and the cursor appears and nothing other but also black screen! Went to recovery full, and it will not allow me to restore some time before I installed the updates!

How to do this without losing all data on the hard drive? Not worried about the programs, but you want to keep all my itunes and if I can't load vista I can't back up my library.

    Help, please!

    Hello

    > Went to recovery full, and it will not allow me to restore some time before I installed the updates!
Not that this means that you have already tried the system restore function to a previous state, or what you have tried exactly?

You can start in safe mode?

If this doesn t work and also the system to restore the previous state, I think that the only solution is to reinstall Vista or what do you think about this? I mean there is nothing more you can do.

You can back up your files if you put the HARD drive into an external HARD drive enclosure. Then, you can save data from it on another computer. That s pretty easy to verify this!

    Hello

My devices Toshiba P200 DVD/CDROM has stopped working (code 39) since I've updated with Vista SP2.

I guess that this lower filter of "tdcmdpst" (the writing of TOSHIBA motor filter driver) is the issue.

    DevCon has failed.

  • I can't install Vista x 64 Bios on Satellite A200

Months ago that I posted that I have intalled Vista x 64 home premiun on my Satellite A200 and I can't install Vista 64-bit bios.
But today, after trying to install new Vista 2.50 x 64 Vios and have the same problem using Toshiba Recovery CD.
I need to install Vista 32 bit and I can Flash the new 2.50 Bios in Vista 32.

So I think that my CD rom is ok and I think I have not install Vista x 64 Bios because have not all drivers.

    Whats is your opinion?

    Hello

I found your other thread regarding the update of the BIOS in Vista 64-bit:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/message.jspa?MessageID=123211#123211

It seems that something was\is with your ROM BIOS module and it was therefore not possible to update the BIOS on the A200.
You case that neither BIOS 32 bits or 64-bit BIOS update is possible

So, my recommendation is. Contact the ASP in your country for a control.
Don t be angry with me, but I don't see other reasons why you are not able to update the BIOS

    Good luck

  • Satellite P300D-12Y can I install Vista 64-bit?

    Hello world
I'm new here and have my first Toshiba-laptop, just bought a week ago.
    It is this model
    http://de.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/innovation/product/satellite-P300D-12Y/1060921/toshibaShop/false/

It works OK, but Vista 32 is quite a mess ;)

As I've worked on XP pro or Vista 64-bit on my PC now my question:

Can I install Vista64 on this book?
Do I need a special BIOS for the 64 bit - OS?
The Toshiba download page are no drivers or BIOS for Vista64 corresponding to my model number.

I tried to update my recent BIOS of 2.6 to 2.8 (included P300D-series) but without success, error message was 'no corresponding version of BIOS', I tried upgrading on windows.

All useful tips about the BIOS and Vista64-install (and whether I should get the drivers from the manufacturer sites) are appreciated.

    THX in advance

Of course, you can install the Vista 32 bit on this laptop.
But the problem is that the 64 bit Vista drivers are not published at this time for this series of laptop.

So, you have to collect the drivers of your own hands.
In addition, you should not try to update the BIOS if it has not been created specially for this model of laptop.

I have 4 separate instances of 'fail' Win XP SP3. Ah, I thought that this could be the case!

You can print the instructions below or copy / paste them into Notepad for consultation offline.

    1. download the Norton Removal Tool, save it to your desktop: http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2005033108162039

    2. After completing some you have a copy of your handy product key, uninstall all software (including LiveUpdate and Add-ons of Norton) Norton through Control Panel | Programs | Uninstall a program (or Control Panel |) Programs and features, if you are using the classic view).

3 IMPORTANT! -Online turn on Windows Firewall immediately after the restart.

    4. right click on the file that you saved in step #1 above, and then select run as administrator.  DO TAP not your keyboard until the race ends, then restart.

NB: Now you're "working without a net": no to ANYTHING else online (e.g., navigation, reading e-mail, chat) until you have completed steps #5 to #7 below!

5 reinstall Norton 360 v3 & restart to the command prompt.

    6. ensure that the Norton firewall is enabled and the Windows Firewall is disabled now.

    7. Run LiveUpdate manually and repeatedly until you get a prompt 'updates is no longer available.

    8. now see if you can manually run Windows Update via the shortcut on the start menu.
