Cannot display raw or jpeg files taken on a new Nikon D7200

I have questions not being not able to view my raw or jpeg files using lightroom what photos were taken on my new SLR digital of Nikon D7200.  I also have the Nikon D7000 and D3000 and can see raw and jpeg files without any problem.  I can open the files D7200 Microsoft photo look an software, but not Photoshop and Lightroom.  Don't know how to reinstall the software Nikon D7200 if it would help.

Nikon said, the problem is with the Software Photoshop and Lightroom, but it's true, why the other cameras files work fine.

Can you help me?

You need Lightroom 6.0 or Lightroom CC 2015 at least to open the D7200 raw files. If you are using an older version of Lightroom, you can use the DNG format free version converter 9.0 or newer to create copies DNG that you can use with your old version of Lightroom.

CS5 to create problems to update the menu help.  Best to download and install manually.

Another problem with CS5 was the Bridge opens as a process in the background and must be closed in the taskbar > hidden icons before updating.

    Good luck

In fact, you have had a chance, I'm surprised that the D800 goes back to CS5 and ACR6.7

  • Cannot display RAW files

I recently purchased Lightroom 4.4 for use on an IMac (10.8.5) but cannot display files RAW (NEFF).  A discussion forum suggested downloading a DNG Converter, but I still struggle to see the RAW files.  What I am doing wrong?

This device requires Lightroom 5.3 or newer. You need to update or use the 8.3 DNG Converter or newer. You can just download the DNG Converter and expect to be able to see the raw images. You use the DNG Converter to create copies of your raw DNG files. These DNG copies can then be opened using the Lightroom you have.

  • saving a raw to JPEG file

When I save a file as a jpeg of high quality raw, I lose a lot of information, and the image becomes much smaller when reopened. How to prevent this?

The actual size of the file in megabytes cannot be a criterion for the quality of the image. JPEG compression works differently on each image according to the content of the image. Some images compress much more than others. When you say that the JPEG is smaller, could you share the actual pixels of the raw and JPEG images dimensions. What do you use to create your JPEGs?

Just another comment. It seems to me that it would be extremely difficult to create a 50 MB JPEG image. It would be absolutely huge in size. I assumed that the site you are using allows loading of formats other than JPEG files if they allow files that large.

  • Photos, convert and replacement RAW to JPEG files

    Hello!

I've been googling and looking for forums of Apple, and I've not found a way to do it again. I'm not sure that it is still possible.

I have a MacBook pro with a nice little SSD. Take RAW photos is gourmet area, and many of them lying around. Is there a way to replace the RAW with a JPEG photo-generated file to save space?

I thought to export to JPEG, removing the RAWs and import JPEG files, but then I will lose the album information they contain.

Is there a way to transform the RAWs in JPEG, then delete the RAWs to save space? Or is it easier to simply delete?

Any response would be highly appreciated!

Export and re-import are the only way to replace the originals.

And it takes if ensure that the original RAW have been deleted from your library and iCloud, before you reimport the JPEGs or Photos will be STINKING RAW format. At least, this happened to me several times.

You could try to export and import after assigning the name of the album as a keyword. Each album individiually, export

According to reimport the photos create a form of album pictures of the last Import. You can aalso use the albumname keyword to search for them.

When all goes well, remove the keyword, you no longer need.

  • PhotoDraw in Windows7 - cannot open or save jpeg files

I have managed to load Photodraw V2 on my new Windows7 machine, but cannot get the program to open or save jpeg files. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, repaired and added features (graphicthrough the control panel............... but no luck.) Any body can help?

I've seen the same problem, but it is not related to Windows 7, I had also in Vista.  I followed up to the size of the file.  I can open small JPG images, but I started to have the question when I got a new camera.  Nothing does no more than 8 million pixels open in Photodraw.  I had to open the photo in another program, reduce the image, then it opens.  But that downgrade the photo.  For more pictures, I just had to use another program and not my beloved Photodraw.  I really wish that Microsoft had continued to work on this product because it was great!

  • Cannot open Raw 2 CS files on my Mac 21 "

    Hello

Can someone help fix me this please help please. I did not and cannot afford to go on adobe based cloud so one hoping this can be fixed somehow.

    Concerning

    Cherylynne

Well, I see two things here: Canon DSLR600D support started in Adobe Camera Raw 6.4.1 that explains why 6.0 does not open it.

You must install 6.7.1 and no it will not hurt anything.  Download it and let me know if it installs. If it is not the case, remember that CS5 had "guardian" of Mac protection. You will need to disable temporarily.

Go to Apple System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General and set Allow Apps to download from: anywhere.

    Second thing:

Your Canon Powershot G5X ACR 9.3 disposal. 6.7 the cab does not open it and that's the last ACR CS5 will take.

Your choice is therefore at this stage to download and use the free DNG Converter to convert the CR2 files to DNG format so 6.7 can read.

Download here: Adobe - Adobe Camera Raw and DNG Converter: for Macintosh: Adobe DNG Converter 9.3

Learn how to use the converter DNG here: Camera Raw: how to use Adobe DNG Converter - YouTube

    That's all for now.

  • RAW to Jpeg file size rule

I wonder if there is a rule of thumb that can be used to predict the approximate size when exporting a raw file in Lr in a jpeg file.  For example, a raw average 25 MB file converting to about 5 MB jpeg with the export from Lr to 100 quality?  At about 3.5 MB with a quality of 80? …

I know that can vary in size, but when I export a collection of raw files, and I put the maximum file size for a certain amount, Lr sometimes converts images because I limited the size too small.  I would like to be able to get a handle on some sort of relationship quality/file size before you begin the export process.

I totally agree with Rob. JPEG file size limitation should not be used unless you absolutely care about the degradation of image quality. I can't imagine what application where it would be acceptable.

Effectiveness of any given quality setting JPEG compression is generally of the order of 5:1. Using a means of file size limit will be saved images with detail to very high quality setting (i.e. 90-100) and images with the details is saved to many parameters of lower quality (0-50). It's the exact opposite of what you want to do!

Unless you use a large file size limit size of exported JPEG images will probably visible JPEG artifacts. It's best to determine your threshold of acceptability for the JPEG artifacts (i.e. quality 50-70?) Use this quality setting for your exports without restriction of file size. The 'average file size' resulting will be less than with a larger file size limit.

Tips to reduce further the size of the exported JPEG images files:

    (1) use conservative sharpening in the modules to develop and export (i.e. not too narrow)

    (2) use the color and Luminance Noise Reduction sufficient settings to reduce visible noise in the image.

    (3) make sure that 'remove the Chromatic Aberration "is checked in the color of the lenses Corrections Panel."

Following the above suggestions can reduce the size of the JPEG file exported by 50% or more, especially for raw ISO images files high.

  • How can I transfer a photo library (raw and jpeg files) fram without loss of metadata and keywords?

How can I transfer my favorite photos library on my MacBook to another library on an external hard drive without losing metadata and keywords?

If you want to keep the metadata, you must export the images as the current versions, edited. File > export > export... images.  Then you can turn on the indicator "Tile, keys, descriptions words":

Choose a high quality for JPEG, not to lose quality.  To the RAWs export them under like TIFF picture.

You can export the RAWs as "file > export > export original unmodified" and keep it RAW, but which will not include the metadata.  And the Photos will allow you to export an XMP file with metadata, but when I tested, it did not apply the metadata when you import the RAW files again. So the best compromise for the RAW format would be to export as TIFF, another lossless format.

  • Help, please! Cannot read RAW on Macbook files

I just got my new Macbook Pro in the mail today and downloaded my Lightroom 3 for, but my NEF files will not be displayed! Although iPhoto and Finder seem to read the file very well... How can I fix? I'm new to Mac, but not to Apple products. My PC to read files RAW in my L3 without problem, please help!

So I finally thought to it! The problem is that I downloaded the 3.6 update, but I did not install it. I know what you're thinking, but as I said, I'm new to Mac and that he had no idea what I was doing. Now the photos pop up very well! Thank you to everyone!

  • Change the Jpeg file taken time in the "Date" column to windows explorer for modification time?

I just found out that JPEGs, edited and recorded by CS4 still wear their original creation time in windows Explorer, regardless of how many times they have been modified, which makes it very inconvenient and confusing, without opening the files to find out. Does anyone know how to change the setting to 'Update?' Thank you very much in advance!

You say that you see the creation Date column in Windows Explorer, but not update?

If this is the case, it's an easy fix...  In Windows Explorer, right click on the bar with the titles (for example, on the title the creation Date) and check the update box.  Normally the update, this is what is displayed by default Explorer for the elements of the General.  I don't know what is shown for other types of files, I use only general articles.

What do you see when you follow these steps:

    1. right click on the folder that contains your images (in the navigation to the left).

    2. Select Properties.

    3. click on the Customize tab.

4 what was the optimize this folder for: of the field?

FYI, as you can see you can change folder for example, customizing the general articles for one or a whole folder tree.

You can also make changes to one of your folders of photos, and then propagate the settings to all folders of this type in your system.  I'm really jump coming here; I would like to know if that's what you eventually want to do.

  • My version of Photoshop CS3 cannot convert tiff to jpeg files

I bought Creative Suite CS3, including Acrobat 8.0 professional.  I have transferred my CS3 to a new windows 7 Professional 64 bit PC and has done so with the help of an officer of Adobe.  All the programs launched OK. As a first step, the software would not be registered, but previous forums has shown a work around... the screen recording said essentially no connection to the internet... so after some research, I spent that.

But Photoshop won't give me the possibility to convert TIFF to JPEG formats... files menu option is no longer visible.  AND Acrobat 8.0 launch so well I can convert MS word/Excel files to PDF formats, I can't use Acrobat Distiller/Acrobat 8.0 to combine several PDF files open in a PDF doc... Suspect it's a problem of software upgrade...  Is it?

Change it to 8-bit/channel and then check out.

  • Cannot open Raw of RX100M3 files

I can't open (conversion?) RAW files from my RX100 M3.   I am using Photoshop CS5 on a Mac.   I installed Camera Raw 6.7.1 and Adobe DNG Converter 8.5.

The Sony RX100 III support has been added in the latest version of Camera Raw 8.5 which is only compatible with CS6, CC and CC 2014.

Camera Raw plugin | Supported devices

You need to update to Photoshop or use the free DNG Converter to convert all RX100 III Raw DNG files. You can edit the DNG in CS5.

  • PSE 7.0 - cannot open RAW. CR2 files

I know this question has been asked several times and I'm not a novice user, but I can't make it work.  Here are the details:

    Windows 7 (x 64)

    Photoshop Elements 7.0

Camera Raw Plugin 5.6.0.148 (removed old .8bi camera raw file, I did not use the 64 bit version of the new Plugin)

Camera: Canon SX50HS (which is included in the list of compatible cameras)

Nothing I've tried has eliminated the "wrong type of file" message when you try to open the .cr2 files.

So, then I read that I should get the (v7.2.0.46) Adobe's DNG Converter and convert the files to DNG.  OK, I got the converter but it does not recognize the .cr2 files in the folder in which they exist.  I read another post indicating that the DNG Converter worked only from the C:\ root directory.  So, I put one of the .cr2 files here and that is the folder "select the images to be converted.  She started to scan my drive and finds all .tif to disk files, but none of the .cr2 files.  He has not converted the .tif files.

I'm new to the use of the images in RAW format, but not to the notion of drivers, plugins, versions and following the installation instructions precisely and have years of professional experience in the software (yet more frustrating!).  It seems as if it could / should be a utility to update of the plugin that prompts for the camera make and model, check that it is compatible and install the appropriate software.  I'm sure that the camera information are integrated also somewhere in the image file.

Sorry to beat that poor horse any more, but the ideas would be welcome!
