Cannot install anything.

My Xoom of US - not all of a sudden doesn't let me install anything from the Android Market.

I've selected an application, and click on install, I saw a notification skipped upward, bottom right indicating 'Installation', but after a few moments,

He showed "Appname installation fails.

I tried to restart my Xoom and clear the cache of the market, but still no luck. Someone has encountered this problem before and how do you solve?

Ok.. It is the problem of storage space...

I left 3.95 GB. It's Go, gigabytes left, but it won't let me install anything... I think that I had deleted about 1 GB and then have 5 GB left... then my Xoom behaves normally.

  • Error 1723 - cannot install anything with a .msi installer

I understand that this kind of question has been asked several times on this here that I searched, however still have not been able to solve the problem :(

Basically, I'm unable to install anything with .msi (windows package install), I get the error messages like:
"There is a problem with this windows package install." A DLL required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your provider to support personal or package"
    OR
"Installation directory must be on a local hard drive" (even if this is the case).
It is not with a specific software, I have a problem with. For example I tried to install Acrobat, Quicktime, rhinoceros (3d software) and T-splines (plugin for Rhinoceros)... which was a mistake and had some msi installers, so I think its safe to assume this is not not the software, but a problem with my computer, and I suspect the registry eventually.
Things I've tried so far without success
    • sfc/scannow
    • Microsoft fix it tool
    • Checked the status of windows install services (it was in operation)
The only thing that I came close to using 'run as administrator' with quicktime as it was the only program which enabled this option as an msi file. This actually worked and was able to replace the DLL error somehow and install quicktime.
Any help is really appreciated, I hope that his is not going to use a new installation on win 7 :(

None of the above worked, unfortunately, but don't worry...

    ... I FIXED IT
    Here's how
I resorted to a repair of windows 7 by using the support of instillation DVD/ISO/USB of my version on win 7 (it is actually an upgrade, wait for your upgrade to the exact version even though it should work with your key)
I followed these instructions to the repair facility
Don't worry, you won't lose any files, but I would still recommend making a return to the top.
I use Macrium reflect free http://www.macrium.com/reflectfree.aspx
OR you can simply backup your stuff important to usb. But like I said, you shouldn't lose anything, and all programs will be installed as well.
If you do not know your key (for when he asks during the upgrade) Windows use magical jelly bean before starting the upgrade and take notehttp://download.cnet.com/Magical-Jelly-Bean-Keyfinder/3000-18487_4-10079600.html keyfinder
NOTE: After you completed the upgrade and to my office, I was greeted with the notification

"Setup has detected that .NET Framework 4 needs to be repaired. Do not restart your computer until the repair is completed. »

It is perhaps was necessary to repair? I don't know, but it took about 10-15 mins to fix it for me.
Anyway, the bottom line is, so far, everything works well again, I can install msi without problem, I will report back if I get more specific questions, but fingers crossed I don't want.
  • Impossible to get updates of Windows to work and cannot install anything after upgrading to SP3

After the upgrade to SP3 I met many problems. Any time I go to install it I get a Windows Installer error is not installed (even if this is the case) and I have to go to start/run and type Services.msc and the go to the installer of windows and right-click on it and select start and then install what I was tring to do.  Windows Update will not update and I tried to restart the installer and it does not work.  I tried the auto fixes but cannot get them to work because they will not install either or will not run.  I had to uninstall Windows Defender as I am unable to update the definitions it is basically useless.  All this started after I did a full cleaning of the computer and then downloaded the original Windows XP that I bought from Dell.

  • Cannot install anything but XP after memory upgrade

My friend had a hp630 running Windows 7 Home Basic, 32-bit. He went to a flea market of computers where they replaced the system memory with two new modules of 4 GB. The system running my end but apparently could not use more than 3 GB of memory by showing that 8 GB has been installed, he wanted a 64-bit system. Given that the system had been there for a few years and accumulated a lot of garbage, we have decided to do a clean install. So we deleted and recreated partition D: with Minitool Partition Wizard and tried to boot from an installation DVD. And here's the problem: no matter how much we have tried different versions of Windows, the only one that worked was XP with AHCI drivers embedded in the disc according to instructions on this forum ( http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-Systems-and-Software/SATA-drivers-for-XP-solution-on... ). both XP sp2 and sp3 XP worked fine. However, Win 7 32 bit, Win 7 64 bit, Win 8 32-bit, win 8 64 bit everything has failed in a similar way: they would go by loading files (Win 7 shows a progress bar while Win 8 showed a logo) and then to reboot (Win 7 without warning, win 8 after a brief demonstration of an error with a sad smiley).

So the question is, how I approach this problem? Upgrade memory to do the system incompatible with Win 7/8? Unfortunately, the original memory module has disappeared, so I can't go back to the original hardware configuration. Should I try XP 64 bit? I heard that this is not the best system to 64-bit, due to compatibility problems (some have been resolved in later versions). I may try it anyway out of curiosity, but in the meantime would appreciate advice.

    swuser68 wrote:

Thanks for the quick response!  The machine has Core i3 - 370 M, which certainly is 64-bit capable. Windows ISOs, both legal illegal, don't miss, and device startup doesn't seem to be a problem, either: the computer accepts the DVD I did very well and copied the files from there, but then something went wrong.

I did the format of the disk as the partition will, but I have not done anything with other partitions. Is - this possibe that Win 7/8 did not like fantasy HP partitioning? There are about 10 GB or partition so hidden, then 2 GB C: drive containing HP tools, then D: to E: and system for data. E: we did oursevles during initial installation for a long time it has so changed their size using MiniTool Partition Wizard. Windows XP has no problem with this disk layout, but perhaps the 7/8 behaves differently?

Another thing I noted is that F11 at startup has no effect. Is it normal for a model that was sold without any Windows? Or is it possible that it reflects somehow the problem I have with installing Windows?  The absence of function F11 is because you have made changes to the recovery D: partition. Any changes made to the partition will delete the F11 recovery capacity.

You will find that you have more success if you delete all partitions, then proceed with the installation.

Let the Windows 8 or 7 Installer create and format partitions of its own during the installation procedure. Normally the C: partition is the system partition,

I propose the first because you do a clean install instead of use the recovery disks created by the HP recovery media creator utility. Using the recovery media, scripts to create all the required partitions independently and install most drivers as well.

  • Cannot install Service Pack 2 using Windows Vista Home Edition or anything else on the internet.

    Hello

I tried to download and install Service Pack 2 using Windows Vista Home Edition, or anything like that on the internet without success. According to me, the key word is internet or a block of Vista from the internet to install anything. Many people here get the same error 80070005 for SP2 as I am, but I think that the problem is with Vista, how the system allows any installs or blocks installed from the internet. I suppose that some are able to go through the download process, but installation is where it does not pass through. There are moments where it seems that the installation of SP2 works, but it will fail eventually. Other times what ever happens to the installation process. The same goes for all other downloads and installs from the internet. I am able to install a program that already exists on the computer, so I know that installs works just not the Internet. Do not send me a link to install because it probably won't last through. I may be able to download but installation will not pass by so that the program will not work. I used the words installation and internet a lot for some reason please take account, when responding.

    Thank you

    Hello

You have Works 8 installed on your computer? If this is the control panel - Windows Updates - right-click on
It CACHE - sometimes updates will offer an update, that you don't need.

If you work 8 go here and put the KBxxxxxx number to download.

Download Center - mount the KBxxxxxx.

    Microsoft Download Center
    http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/en/default.aspx

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - click on - RUN AS ADMIN

Then you can right click on the update in the updates Windows and HIDE.

    ----------------------------------------------

To the problem of display driver (video), update your video driver manually using these methods - you can also update
    others as needed.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system. For
each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver, description,.
version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - Device Manager - Display Adapter - note the brand and complete model of your
video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now click on UPdate Driver (this
cannot do anything as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then do a right click - Uninstall - REBOOT
This will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party with their
own the software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now go to the site of the manufacturer of system (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) (restoration) and then of the manufacturer of the device
(Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for the BIOS, Chipset and software)
updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - tab drivers version you install actually shows up. This
because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (particularly that audio drivers) so install a
pilot - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat if necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW on device at the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER - manually check by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.
