• Cannot install Flash Builder 4; Failed to retrieve the latest versions

  I am Windows 7 64 bit on a network where my Documents and my office are related to a roaming profile are applied where the quotas for the use of space. I was unable to install Flash Builder 4 because of this issue, which Adobe is known and apparently corrected (thanks, Chris A.).

  However, I can't even extract Burrito or the FB4.5 draft because the installation exe retrieved automatically on the desktop. Under 4.0, I could change the extraction location.

  Is there a way around this problem?

  @Ron - Thanks for letting us know. I'm surprised that anyone encountered this limitation before today.

  Fortunately, there is a solution:

  -Open a command window and cd to the location of the downloaded self-extracting exe file

  -Run the exe with the/d (destination) option, which allows you to adapt the path where the installation program is extracted.

  In my case, the chain of syntax full looked this way:

  FlashBuilder_4_5_LS10.exe /d c:\customExtractionFolder

• Cannot install Flash Builder for PHP 4.6

  I have FB4.5 installed premium and purchased a license to upgrade to version 'for PHP. I downloaded the 2 files on the adobe web site (only V4.6 seems to be downloadable now) - FlashBuilderPHP_4_6_LS1.7z and FlashBuilderPHP_4_6_LS1.exe. The installation will passed specifying options, but just before he finishes it says "roll back the installation" and closes. I was hunting autour and founf PDApp.log and these are the last lines. They give me any indication as to what has bad shot, except maybe the first one here, but it keeps going for a little while after this message. I tried 3 times now with a reboot between the two, and it fails every time. It's time to download a new copy installation files or get a DVD?

  I worked it out in the end - I had to uninstall FB4.5 and restart the computer. Why install so couldn't say instead of just crashing? I found this, by the way, trying to run the Setup program created in \adobe\adobe flash Configurator 4.6 of c:\program files (x 86). • Cannot install Flash Player as "only one version of this application can run.

  I had problems with Flash Player earlier today and decided to uninstall it (from Windows 7) and reinstall from scratch.  I uninstalled and tried to reinstall it but now I get the following message appears: cannot install Flash Player as "only one version of this application can run" I tried to uninstall I checked to see if there was still a program to install but it does not exist. I checked my files in Windows and there are several files called Install_Flashplayer _16x32... files. I assume that they are created whenever I tried to install Flash Player.  I thought to delete many files install FlashPlayer but decided to ask for help before taking this step.

  I managed to install Flash Player and it works. I deleted all the installation files except one who did not want to be deleted, then I started to install Flash Player, until I got the message about the conflicting demands. I then used the Ctrl + Alt + Delete to open the Task Manager, then closed all tasks except the Flash Player one. Flash Player finished the installation. Then, I opened a TV Player in Firefox and was able to play a program that requires a Flash Player.

  Why don't I have to use the Task Manager to close applications. I don't remember the last time that I used it ut think that it was a year ago, when my computer would not shut.

• Why I can't install Flash Builder 4.6 in my creative cloud subscription?

  I have an active subscription to CC, but Flash Builder 4.6 does not appear as an available Adobe Application Manager upgrade.  I see it on the Adobe web site, but when I try to install it does not accept my serial number CC.

  Can you confirm if you have a previous version of flash builder (version 4.5) on your machine.

  If this is the case, please uninstall the flash builder 4.5 of your machine and run the Installer 4.6 and your serial key.

  to remove entires for Flash builder [this would deal with licensing issues] and try reinstalling Flash builder 4.6

  If you have Creative suites already installed Flash builder would automatically pick your serial number

  the basic steps would therefore be

  -Uninstall Flash builder

  -use the cleaner tool erase content specifically for flash builder only.

  -reboot the Machine

  -remove any left over files from installation of Flash builder.

• Removal of Flash Builder 4.5 installing Flash Builder 4.5 for PHP

  There is a very serious mistake with the Flash Builder 4.5 to install PHP (of http://static.zend.com/topics/Flash-Builder-for-PHP-4.5.0-Release-Notes.txt ):

  If Flash Builder 4.5 (not PHP) is already installed on the machine, and the 
    product (Flash Builder for PHP 4.5) is then installed in a different location, 
    the user gets the "FB is installed" dialog.
    After clicking OK, the installation rolls back and removes both Flash Builder
    and Flash Builder for PHP.

  My questions:

  Can Flash Builder 4.5 for PHP be installed in the same location without deleting Flash Builder 4.5? If so, please define 'location '.

  Is there a work around for installing the two flavors of Flash Builder 4.5 and avoiding the issue of the above deletion?

  Can be a single version of do-it-all of Flash Builder 4.5 install that combines the features of these two flavors of the SDK and Flash Builder 4.5 product?

  Flash Builder 4.5 for PHP includes the exact version of Flash Builder 4.5. We do not allow facilities side by side of Flash Builder 4.5 and Flash Builder 4.5 for PHP, you need to uninstall Flash Builder 4.5 before installing Flash Builder 4.5 for PHP. The error message you see is that we have not detected FB 4.5 earlier in the installation process, but after you close the dialog box you should just be able to run the FBPHP installation program once again without a problem.

  I curretly have Flash Builder 4.6 installed on my computer - it was initially installed as FB4.5 when I installed MC CS-5.5, but the 4.6 version was made available as a separate installation of MC.5 when it became available in November - so I'm now having FB 4.6 as a stand-alone installation.

  My question is this - do I have to uninstall my standalone installation of FB4.6 in order to install MC6 via my dnuee subscription (when it will be available may 11) - or FB 4.6 in CS6 installing install without errors (at a different place?). The reason why I want to make is that FB can sometimes be buggy and I the current system works well. I would like to install the new 4.6 FB and make sure that I work and compiles well before uninstall stand-alone verson of December last FB 4.6.

  The apps included in the subscription of creative cloud are installed individually, so you could simply not install FB and let the installation stand alone current, you have as it is.

  The script error is caused by the DPI setting on your system.  If the DPI setting is set to 100%, 125%, 150% or 200% Setup returns the script error. If your DPI setting is set to something else, please set it to one of these and Setup online should work.  To check/change the DPI setting:

  1. Start the control panel and go to control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Display
  2. In the left menu, select set size custom text (PPP)
  3. In the Windows Setup custom DPI select 100%, 125%, 150% or 200% in the menu drop-down
  4. Click OK
  5. Select apply
  6. Open a session/disable
  7. Online installer should now run without displaying the script error.

  A fix for this should be released in the coming weeks.

  I try to install the Flash Player Debugger (ActiveX) for IE in Windows 8.1. I've downloaded the installation program and when I run it I get this message:

  

  There must be a way to force the installer to install the Flash Player Debugger in point 8.1 of Windows. Otherwise, of course, we cannot debug Flash in Internet Explorer in Windows 8.1 content. It's a big problem.

• Installed Flash CC, but I need CS6 return!

  I installed Flash CC and unintalled my previous version to save hard drive space.

  But I just got a job for a few banners, which have Actionscript 2.0 in them! Does not support Flash CC AS 2.0.

  According to my cloud creative I Flash CS6, and all of this to date. But I uninstalled.

  How can I get CS6 return so I can work with AS 2.0?

  Where can I download Flash CS6?
