• Cannot open Illustrator after update. Required urgent fix it please.

  I've just updated Illustrator CC today in the hope that the bugs I had would be fixed. Now I can't open Illustrator at all. I get the error message that says that I have not installed to Verdana. I use Suitcase Fusion 5 (v16.0.4) and I checked and I have two versions of Verdana (a Microsoft that I can disable the other is locked), which are OpenType fonts.

  I tried with both open and then turn off the Microsoft one. The other that I can't turn off. Illustrator will not open. I tried to re-boot my machine without success. I could at least open Illustrator before the update with exactly the same fonts available.

  Please can someone help with this emergency!

  It would help if Adobe, Apple and Extensis would actually talk to each other and write code that works rather than the difficulty of release bug after bug fix that still does not work!

  Thanks to Madge to go forward in this and isolate the problem.

  Please add the "Verdana font family' in the folder of system fonts and then using font management software try disabling all other fonts except system fonts.

• Application manager crashes, cannot open Illustrator

  I'm so frustrated. My Illustrator subscription had expired. I renewed it. Then I tried to open Illustrator. Whenever I try to do this, Adobe Application Manager opens, and it bounces on the dock for a while and then nothing happens. If I try to open Illustrator once again, the same thing happens.

  I went to https://creative.Adobe.com/products/Illustrator try to download Illustrator fresh. The download link does nothing.

  I'm on mac. I use the Chrome browser.

  I just want to open Illustrator and start doing my job.

  I was finally able to solve this problem by going to http://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html and seletcing to get assistance from someone online. The great part is you can share your screen with the person to help you and in my case this person has found the cause and helped me solve the problem.

  The solution proved to be that I had to reboot my computer in safe mode, and then install the creative Cloud Desktop application. I think it's also important that the user that you are connected to your computer as that has admin rights.

  Please, do a right-click on Illustrator and run as admin. If you still encounter the same problem, then uninstall and try to reinstall.

• Impossible to install Photoshop CC 2015.5, cannot open Illustrator

  Yesterday, I bought a subscription to Photoshop and Lightroom that was offered.

  I downloaded CC and Lightroom automatically downloaded/installed without problem. I tried to install Photoshop and get the "Windows updates from Microsoft to install this product are not available on this computer. Please install updates and try again. " error.

  My system IS up-to-date and after searching, I found stand-alone installers for Photoshop (only version 2015 for some reason some have not released 2015,5 files!)

  Photoshop works but I feel blurred by the update which is technically what I pay for right?

  Today, I thought I would try the demo of Illustrator, I managed to download through CC without any problems... until I actually came to open the program and now I am facing the problem of "api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll is missing".

  I run windows 7 Professional and I'll add that Lightroom (and bridge) run/open without any problems... in fact my Photoshop 2015.

  It's very frustrating because I need photoshop and I'd love to extend someday to illustrator. I hope that my 7 day trial is not over before it is resolved.

  Stand-alone installers would be INCREDIBLY useful.

  In collaboration with CS5 for a few weeks now with no problems. All of a sudden today Illustrator won't open all files. Keeps giving me the message "Unable to set a maximum number of files to open." Trashed prefs, but that made no difference.

  Here is a list of the places Illustrator puts preferences:

  • /Users/ [user] / Library/Preferences/Adobe Illustrator CS3 settings
  • /Users/ [user] / Library/Preferences/Adobe Save For Web AI 12.0 Pref.
  • /Users/[user]/Library/preferences/com.Adobe.Illustrator.plist

  first try the plist file, you can trash and it will regenerate itself. Others need a little more care when trashing. I recommend making a copy of it there first, move the copy to a safe place and then trash the originals. If it does not help, replace them with copies, so you don't run the risk of losing some of the parameters.

  Note, this is for CS3, but apart from the differences between the versions, the path should be the same.

  Just to make sure, are all the faces of fonts Verdana and Tahoma installed and activated/enabled through the BONE (no fonts mangement) as TTF (not OTF)?

• Illustrator 2015.3 cannot open picture error

  We have a pair of Mac over a network, the two companies running CC. After the last update, Illustrator files created on one machine and recorded on a common server cannot be opened on another machine. By clicking on the results of the server file in a tiny dialog with just the expression 'cannot open the illustration ".

  By clicking on this box opens Illustrator and shows blank project work plans. No art, no file, nothing.

  Didn't help not copy files to the local hard disk.

  For the startup file more persistent questions of openness I recommend resetting the OOBE

  1. Quit Illustrator & creative cloud
  2. Mac Finder > order G
  3. Enter: ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE
  4. Move your OOBE folder somewhere (I do it on my desktop)
  5. Start Illustrator

  They changed the appearance of the OOBE in 2015.3 sorry I can't give you exact directions on the files to move, but I've removed those selected to correct my last time, and there is a good chance that you can just delete them all. A backup lets you restore it, until we can find more information on these files.

  

  Other items you can try:

  • reset the prefs
  • Turn off the GPU by enabling / disabling Commadn E, then open your file.

  Please, try the following steps.

  1. quit Illustrator

  2. disconnect the creative cloud

  3. exit the creative cloud, CoreSync and CCLibrary (on Windows) Task Manager or monitor activity (Mac)

  4. the return in creative cloud signal

  5. restart Illustrator

  I tried to read a lot of help articles, including, How to recover an Illustrator file (HAVE). DesignPoint, but do not seem to solve my problem.

  Most of these items asked me to open Adobe Illustrator preferences and /enableContentRecovery the value 1. However, I've just updated my CS6 version 16.0.4 recently, and the /enableContentRecovery does not exist in the file.

  If there is someone who knows how to do on this subject, I will be eternally grateful!

  I managed to solve the problem on my end. What I did reinstall an older version of Illustrator CS6, where he (finally) had /enableContentRecovery somewhere in the Adobe Illustrator preferences file.

  After that, I opened the file recovered and removed the name of the instance (which, in this case, was "vertical arrow" who had problems) from the list and it worked. I got my rear backrest (with the instance of course lack).
