Cannot save on external hard drive

I recently bought a Seagate FreeAgent - 2.0 to external drive and have found that I'm unable to save image from Photoshop (PS7 or CS3) files directly to him regardless of the extension of the image used. When I try to record, I get a pop-up that says, could not save "filename" because the disk is full. I don't know why this is happening when I have 1.6 TB of free space on this drive. I also have a FreeAgent 500 GB external that I have never had this problem with. When I contacted Seagate they said since I am able to copy, paste or move files to the drive, it is a problem with the Software Photoshop and not their car. Anyone know why this is happening and if so is there a way to solve it?

Yes, hiking 7 used a Windows API which stops when the disc is more than 1 TB.

Once we had larger disks available, we have worked around this limitation of the API.

CS3 should not have any problems and has been quite widely used with over 1 TB disks.

  • Can I save one external hard drive to another on a mac?

I have just changed Windows for iMac and I have no idea of the backup of the system on a mac.

I have an external hard drive that is used for the pictures I use Photoshop and Lightroom. I want to know how I can backup this disc on an another external hard drive and update only the files that have changed on the original disc.

It would be also possible to save the iMac to a third external hard drive?

I would really appreciate the help.

The best way to save your Mac's Time Machine. It can save the Mac gradually and keeps a history of backups, so that you can go to different moments in time when you restore your Mac.  Time Machine can also include external drives to the backup, see this link: the basics of the Mac: Time Machine

If you want to save your Media Player separately use cloning software for updating a copy cloned, for example carbon copy clone.

  • Save on external hard drive

I used the back upward in my windows xp professional (version 5.1, sp3).  It seemed to be working (he went through all the files), but when I checked my external hard drive nothing has been saved.

I want to be able to put in place so that I can save every day or every week.

    Hi Danimama,

1 have you tried with another external hard drive?
    2. using any third-party backup program to backup?

You must follow the following steps until you can run the backup.

    1. you can try to temporarily disable your anti-virus and malware during execution of the backup.
    2. check if the external hard drive has bad sectors on it.

    Step 1:

Run a chkdsk on the external hard drive and check for errors.

Original title: USB to ATA/ATAPI bridge, cannot access hard drive

I have a lenovo g570, its brand new, I have because I broke my old laptop but managed to recover my hard drive from my old laptop.

I bought all the necessary equiptment to open it, I have different devices to connect my hard drive to that allows me to connect to any laptop.

Ive tried all the links and updates that have been previously mentioned on many forums and still nothing works. Ive did go into the Device Manager... still no luck. It indicates that the device is functioning properly. I don't know what to do. some help would be great.

  • Return additional ups cannot find my external hard drive.

Windows back Ups to run without problem. I put them to run every week and save them to an external hard drive. In recent times the first (full) backup works but additional back weekly, ups can't find my external hard drive even if the settings have not been changed and the first aid found without problem. I use Vista Home Premium.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks John

I suggest avoid you the Windows backup program and you get a good commercial backup program. This forum meets for a windows problem reports. I know that I was very impressed when I tried it. Two, I'm familiar with and like Norton Ghost (which I use for 7 years without the 1st problem), and Memeo, which has a 30 day free trial and you can buy it for $29.99 - you can download it from

http://memeo.com . You can get Ghost for almost nothing (like me), if you look at the sales.

CNET has a lot of reviews of backup program to

    http://download.cnet.com/windows/backup-software/?tag=contentBody;sideBar .

Some of them are free (the last time I checked there over 300), some have free trials (more), and some are buying only (more than 200).

    Good luck

  • Cannot recognize the external hard drive.

Have an iMac with Parallels and Windows SP installed Pro computer.  Until yesterday, when we had a power outage, I had a Verbatim external disk set on the Windows side of the machine that worked very well.  I the embroidery machine and I keep my drawings on this small hard drive and access it through a software on the side of my Mac Windows.  Since the blackout, my Mac does not recognize the Verbatim.  I tried the Verbatim on another pc and it works fine.  Turned on my Mac, is gone on the side of the window, plugged in the Verbatim... little popup appears asking if I want it on the Mac or my Virtual Machine.  I loaded Virtual Machine.  When I go to my program of embroidery and search the external hard drive, he doesn't "see" it.  Then a box comes up and says "do you want it disconnected from your Mac" and it must be removed by force of the virtual machine.  NOTHING WORKS.  It worked perfectly before and I can't figure out how to get my Virtual Machine (Windows) to recognize.

    Hi gloriajstitcher,

Check if the disk is detected by plugging it into a different port.

I suggest you post in your query in the Parallels forums to improve the assistance:

  • Cannot find my external hard drive in file Explorer

I can find my external hard drive in the Manager, but not when I go to computer

This usually means that Windows 7 think that the drive is not partitioned or formatted.  This usually happens as a result of any material event on the external device.  The hard drive itself or the case could fail.  What causes this is:

    1. overheating
    2. a bad USB disconnection
    3. Shock, like a drop of water

If you need to replace, you will find a few tips here: http://canadiantech.info/?page_id=213

You should be able to re-partition and / or reformat the disk, but all will be lost that was stored on it.  The tools to do this are in computer management, disk management.

  • Cannot open my external hard drive

    Hello

  • Windows 7 cannot see my external hard drive, even if I don't use it on this computer!

I have 2 external hard drives, both worked well on Windows 7. Now, on the same computer, no change, they stopped from within the computer. Drivers fine and visible in the devices. all ideas

    Hello Gus,

Windows 7, having trouble finding external drives is not uncommon. I use Aomei Partition Wizard to get Windows to recognize the drive; Download here: http://download.cnet.com/AOMEI-Partition-Assistant-Standard-Edition/3000-18512_4-75118871.html?tag=mncol;1 .

Once installed simply click on the external drive, and then select Properties. Who should get the drive recognized by Windows. See if that solves the problem for you.

    Kind regards

  • Cannot access an external hard drive lost, encrypted BitLocker recovery key and do not know where to enter the password to unlock it.

I recently installed Windows 7 Ultimate, 64-Bit on a Sony Vaio. Worked great, seems awsome and rolls GOOS GOOS, for a new operating system. I decided to use the BitLocker feature that I wanted to use from Vista Ultimate, which was incredibly dificult unlike BitLocker in Windows 7, which is extremely simple to use. So simple in fact, I encrypted my external hard drive Verbatim 160 Gig where the original BACKUP files are with ALL my original documents, settings and files of the company are located. I haven't used a USB key, or don't have I recorded the RecoveryKey, I printed and completely loses it, I remember perfectly well the password I used. Problem is I have NOW, I can't ACCESS MY HARD DRIVE! When I try to access the hard drive it asked me not the password recovery key. Please help me, im in deep poopie. I wish I could change the world, if only I could find a diapper big enough to hold so many things...

Hey thanks for the reply Kev, but I must say that I did and didn't. The new Windows 7 operating system has this feature built-in and it is much easier to use. So yes I did it, but I made using windows 7 have where, instead of download all the files, I just insert the original DVD of WIndows 7, I restart my PC and follow the instructions of recovery of BitLocker recovery key, and voila. The problem is that I've NEVER stored on this particular external hard drive recovery key. BTW: I tried to follow the steps mentioned by Mr. Vijay but inconsistent tool with my operating system (Windows 7 64-Bit) it only works with Vista (not 150 percent certain but close). Please correct me if Im wrong. I wish I could change the world, if only I could find a diapper big enough to hold so many things...
