Cannot start ALS VMware Analysis Service

I would like to install Lab Manager. Everything works fine until the Installer tries to start the analysis of SLA VMware Service. It fails whenever I have try this (manual and with the Installer). When I ignore this error, the installer finishes the installation, but when I access the site of Lab Manager, I get the error cannot initialize the page of the wizard - unable to connect to an IPC Port: the system cannot find the specified file.

When I try to start the analysis of SLA Service, I get the error: Service cannot be started.

Someone at - it an idea?

It's the known issues of the LM 3.0.2 release notes section (can help)

Start or stop service VMwareSLAMonitor will expire when the update level of Lab Manager 3.0.x

When upgrading Lab Manager 2.5.x to 3.0.x start or stop the VMwareSLAMonitor service times out or fails.

Workaround

When VMwareSLAMonitor service expires or fails, Setup displays a dialog box Cancel/restart/ignore .

Click Retry to continue the installation.

If a retry fails once or twice, click ignore and continue the installation. After completing the installation, do one of the following:

  1. Restart the server Lab Manager.

  2. Restart the instance of database SQL Server service (MSSQL$ VLM).

    This looks like a problem in the registry for the part of the database or a correctly configured system DSN.

    Are you sure there's not another web analytics web application processes running, have you checked the processes running on the machine, you will need to kill or stop one of them to release the lock.

    These error messages are a pain in the neck to extract useful information.

    I suggest that you do a search online 'pilot audio free downloads' and find another audio program for your PC.

    If you find something that works for your satisfaction - remove your original pain in neck audio software and make sure you make your audio program newly found the 'default' device.

    Realtek and NVIDIA, for example get stuff good free audio driver.

    If the new program does not work - it would be a good indication that you have hardware on your PC, drive problems and no amount of play more with to try to correct the audio software will help. Period

  • Cannot start the VMWare host agent service

    I worked on this issue for awhile with no resolution.  Initially, I had a problem running VMWare Server Home Page so I installed the VMWare Server Console and the error when trying to launch the Console VMWare Server on the same server VMWare Server is installed and connect locally:

    501 command overall GLOBAL Server-vmdb targets no host agent not supported.

    Came to the conclusiong that it was the result of the function of Agent Host VMware is not able to start.

    Environment:

    IBM BladeCenter HT chassis

    IBM eServer HS21 - 8853AC1

    NetXtreme Broadcom5704S

    2 x Quad Core Intel Xeon E5440 2.83 GHz

    Initially, I installed VMWare Server 2.0 and then upgraded to 2.0.1 to see if that would solve the issue but always without success.

    Event Viewer message:

    Host VMware Agent service terminated with service specific error 4294967295 (0XFFFFFFFF)

    Not tried so far:

    1. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times without success

    2. Tried to manually start the VMWare host Agent

    3. Tried the upgrade to VMWARE 2.0 VMWARE 2.0.1

    4. Tried to uninstall and reinstall

    5. Tried to launch the service as ADMINISTRATOR

    It is the only VMWare Server service that does not start... I Googled, and I can't find a resolution to this problem.

    I have windows vista Home premium. I did have a problem connecting to internet before. So today, I can't connect to my router, either by wireless or ethernet.  The router is fine, because my roommates are able to connect.  The signal is also excellent, but my computer is "connected with limited access".   The message I get is: 'unknown connection status. The dependency service or group was able to start. "" When I click on diagnose and repair, it says Network Diagnostics cannot run because the Diagnostics Policy Service is not running "then it gives me the option to open the Service Control Manager to manually start the diagnostic policy Service.  This opens a window of Services with a huge list of things I don't understand.  I searched for solutions to the problem, and none have worked.  Any advice greatly appreciated.

    Change the settings of the REGISTRY can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the REGISTRY settings configuration can be solved. Changes to these settings are at your own risk!

    It is possible that the permissions on a specific registry key has changed. You can try to correct this by clicking on start, type regedit in the prompt, do a right click the program regedit and select run as administrator. In the registry editor, click the arrow to expand the selection, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, SYSTEM, CurrentControlSet, Services, DPS, on the right, click settings and click Permissions.  In the permissions screen, select the user TrustedInstaller . If you do not see the TrustedInstaller user, click Add, type NT TrustedInstaller service and press OK. If make sure that permissions full control and read are checked for the TrustedInstaller user.

    I have the Intel WiFiLink 5100 adapter with the latest driver for Windows 7 Enterprise 32-bit installed. The laptop is not a wireless connection manager and I am trying to connect using the Windows wireless connection manager.

    I checked in the Services and found that service autoconfiguration WLAN and Extensible Authentication Protocol services are not running.

    When I tried to start the WLAN auto configuration service, I get the following error...
         Windows could not start the service WLAN autoconfiguration on Local computer.
         Error 1068: The dependency service or group could start.

    When I tried to start the service of Extensible Authentication Protocol, I get this error...
         Windows could not start the service on Local computer Extensible Authentication Protocol.
         Error 1053: The service did not demand launch or timely control.

    I found that all dependent services for the EAP are running. And all dependent services for autoconfiguration WLAN service are running except the EAP service.

    I searched the internet for the solution madly before posting here. Any help is greatly appreciated!

    If this does not help I suggest you reinstall workstation completely from your own account. Don't forget to note your serial number if your IT Department has already given it you.

    BTW, it might be that your group policy to prevent something. Check with your IT, if others have the same problem.
