Since I'm on install Kubuntu 13.04 on my wife's machine, I have a few minutes to look on Google - you should also.  But I found what you wanted - I know for sure WS will install on Squeeze.  The only difference here is that it is talkinig about 7 WS - however I doubt there has been a regression in hsots withi WS 9 support.  Now if you said that you have followed all of these steps I posted just on top and it is not yet install maybe someone else can help you.  I instgalled WS 9 on 7 Debian Wheezy with kernel 3.2.x so I don't think it's a problem.  You might want to try downloadinig for Wheezy Debian-Installer - I'll leave you to find it.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. first download the file of
http://downloads.VMware.com/d/info/desktop_downloads/vmware_workstation/7_0 (must register or should have an account to download, select 32-bit or amd64 bit).

2. After you download permission executable file as user root.
chmod + x VMware-Workstation-Full - 7.1.3 - 324285.x86_64.bundle

3. that just installed by giving the command
#./VMware-Workstation-Full-7.1.3-324285.x86_64.bundle

He invited for the contract of license, product updates, directory eclipse debugger virtual, eclipse debugger c, c ++ plugins etc just select Yes or no based on requirements and finally press enter we start to install.

4. after the installation of debian, go to Applications-> System Tools-> VMware Workstation and open.

While the opening display a prompt saying VMware Kernel Module Updater stating Kernel Release 2.6.xx - x-amd64 not found header or specify the prompt where the header of the kernel to install.

5. what installed the debian kernel headers giving
# apt - get install linux-headers - 2.6.xx - x-amd64

After that, close the window and rebooted again.

6. then all starting a prompt appears indicating ""before you can run VMware, several modules must be compiled and loaded by running in the kernel currently running. "just chose install." prompt to indicate the root password and continue.

7. immediately asked to enter a new window indicating "failed to generate the kernel module see Journal of the /tmp/vmware-root/setup-3037.log (which is the compiler and the necessary reinforcement of the tools were not installed).»

8 install the build-essential package by
# apt - get install build-essential

9. that yet once I went back and selected the option to install it started running very well.

10. every thing made, prompted the license agreement and finally started.
Note: A registered key is required to start working with it.

Googd luck and adios.

  • Cannot start Dell Studio XPS 9100 - is the PSU?

These symptoms are compatible with a faulty PSU?

I have a 4 years, processor Dell Studio XPS Desktop Intel i7 960 (expired warranty) 18 GB DIMM: 64 Bit Windows 7 ultimate OS.

Computer will not start. (Dell 0M1J3H 525W) POWER supply has a green LED on the back of the envelope of the computer with a black switch diagnosis. When the computer reads the green light is on.

If I press the Start button nothing happens - the white light on the Start button does not illuminate. But if I press the button to start for at least 12 seconds then release and press it again the logo Dell at the edge of the bezel turns on for a second and the fans turn at 20 degrees, but the computer does not start and there is no light on the Start button. The same thing happens if I press the black test on the power supply switch after the button of start for about 12 seconds. If I quickly press the test switch repeatedly from 40 to 50 times, four fans will turn a little bit but stop as soon as I stop to press the test switch. If a power is to learn in the light of the collar and the fans, but the computer starts and the green light does not go or flash. As directed by Dell, the green light is supposed to be activated when the current flows through the power supply and the green light is supposed to flash if I press the test switch when the computer is turned off.

More Dell' diagnostic instructions I disconnected the motherboard and all the readers and the video card in the PSU, but the test was always negative, that would normally indicate a defective power supply.

However, if the front bezel blinking on and fans to be powered for a fraction of a second, which excludes a failure of the power supply?

GENERAL INFORMATION: One night several months ago fans have started racing as the computer was overclocking but my meter showed only 30% CPU usage. Computer subsequently began to lose power and restart at random times.  No crash dumps or stop. Just a loss of power and a reboot. Sometimes the auto restart would work and sometimes it wouldn't. When the computer restarts will not it will not re-start and there was no light white or orange, when I pressed the Start button. If I hold the start 12 seconds or more and then released it and press start logo collar flash momentarily, but no start and no other light. I would try restarts several times, sometimes by pressing the button start hundreds of times before the computer would finally boot. When you start the computer it would normally sometimes several days before losing power again.

The last restart was more than a week and the computer normally lasted more than a week until yesterday when he lost power.

I think that the power supply may be bad. But the only other time that I replaced a power supply on an old HP Pavilion. In this case, the computer was completely dead. I'm confused by the momentary illumination of the Dell logo on the collar and the shaking of the power to the fans. Which excludes a failure or default PSU?

The button BIST says that the power supply is bad.  The BIST button isn't the power button.

The LED on the back does not mean that the power supply is good.

The BIST (built in Self test) is LED and button are for.

    Other points

    • If I try to use 'Start Up' drive to restart Windows, it does not work, I just get a black screen.
    • Due to the configuration that I can't really afford to reinstall everything on a new partition I would everything white / software installed, install Windows 7, upgrade to 10, reinstall various licenses etc, it would take me 2 days and my schedule does not allow for this.
    • I went through many discussions of the forum here: my background is software/web, no hardware, so the command line is a bit strange for me, but I can follow the instructions I have not successfully updated my "products" but I'm still on a MBP of the retina, the current captain.

Please help me get out of a mess in that I have unintentionally! Thank you!

  • Cannot start Windows after trying to install the Vista SP2

I just tried to install Vista SP2 and now whenever I try to turn on the cpu it gives me a blue screen and restarts. It does allow me to start in SafeMode either. In addition, it seems to be impossible to find my restore points. I was able to stop the screen using the F8 menu and it gives me this error on the blue screen

    STOP: 0X0000007E (0XC0000005, 0X81C223BB, 0X803998F4, 0X803995F0)

For some reason, when I go to the cmd prompt to advanced troubleshooting guide, I can do, he says that I am the X and not the C drive, if that has something to do with my restore points does not.

I tried to get the menu of the restoration on C manually through C:\windows\system32\restore\, but nothing was there.

Any help would be appreciated. I will not lose rather all my data in a reformat.

    Thank you
    Matt

What application or antivirus security suite is installed and your current subscription?  What anti-spyware (other than Defender) applications?  What third-party firewall (if applicable)?  Who were these applications that run in the background when you installed SP2?

A (another) Norton or McAfee application has already been installed on this machine (for example, a free trial version which is preinstalled when you bought it)?

Hello and welcome to the community!

Please try to remove the battery for 5 minutes, then put it in and start the system again. If this behavior continues, then look for an auto-loader in order to force a clean reload OS... something on the operating system that you have installed is perhaps corrupt, and a clean reload would be a way to fix it.

    Good luck!

    Hello everyone.

As I said in the title of the topic, I can't launch Metro apps once I updated my laptop. I tried all of the solutions that I can find: sfc, diagcab, etc. And the worst part is that none of the solutions I've tried works (no, not even to make a new account because I can not fire the laptop settings).

Here are some photos and a video to explain more: video

    Hello

    Welcome to the Microsoft community.

You may experience this problem if the system files are corrupted or due to changes in the resolution of the screen on the desktop. I want you to know some basic information for the modern user interface to work properly on Windows 8 / 8.1:

    > User account control settings need to be enabled.
Note: User Account Control (UAC) notifies you before changes are made to your PC that requires administrator-level permission. By default, UAC is set to warn you as soon as apps try to make changes to your PC, but you can change how often UAC notifies you.
    > To align the apps, you need at least 1366 x 768 screen resolution.
    > Requires Microsoft account.

Follow these methods and check if that helps:

Method 1: brand 'x' in the lower right of the app. This behavior may be the result of a problem or error when an app package has been installed or injected into the Windows 8 or 8.1 image, or it may be the result of the outdated software. Follow the steps in this article:

Windows 8 app tiles have an 'x' in the lower right corner

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/2832072/en-us

Also, try changing the minimum screen resolution of 1024 x 768 and check if it helps:

Get the best display on your monitor

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-in/Windows-8/get-best-display-monitor

If the problem persists, proceed to the next method.

Method 2: Try installing the latest graphics card drivers and check. I also suggest to visit the manufacturer of computer technical support site and install the latest graphics drivers.

    Download and install the drivers

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-in/Windows-8/all-drivers

If the problem persists, proceed to the next method.

Method 3: Run the Troubleshooter of Apps. This tool can automatically identify and fix problems with the applications.
