CAP mode dial

I have a 5 d 3 for about 6 months now and the Cape of mode dial fell when I took my camera a few days ago. What is the best way to replace repaired?  It seems that the whole top plate may need to be replaced which suggests sending for Canon for warranty work...  Is this true?  There not just a way to get the part/covers-stopper with the mode settings?

-Brian

If you are a handy person, a tiny little glue will glue the plate on the dial. If not, send it back for repair under warranty.

Hi, I don't know much about cameras, but I've always wanted a nice like that, and a friend of mine told me that the SL1 was good for beginners. It came in the mail today and I just started to experiment and play around with it. I don't know if it's something I did by mistake or it's just a problem with the camera, but I realized that the Mode dial is not correctly programmed. In order to develop if I had to turn the knob to the symbol A + (I'm sorry if this isn't what it's called), the camera will enter the function of sports. I'm sorry, but I really do not understand this and I would love it if someone could help me. Thank you!

    Hmmm.

On this camera, the sport mode is directly opposite the position of the mode A + (Auto).  There is a small pip as an indicator on the camera on the left side of the dial.

Are you sure you look white pip and not power on leverage as an indicator?

    If so, that's the problem.

    Otherwise:

Do ALL modes to register as one just in front of the right pair, or they are all Sports are random or something?

Patterns are printed on a sheet of thin "cap" which is literally glued on top of the handle.  I know because mine fell once and I had to stick on.  I guess it's possible they put on back at the factory, but I don't think because there was a small crack in the button and a tab in the CAP, which have to align or well you can not set the cap in the flush.

If you read right and the button won't you need to return the camera.

  • How to save a custom power shot 50 mode setting?

Need to make adjustments to the initial setting at the C1 set... do not remember how I put them in the first place, and the manual does not help!

Thanks for the information!  Now that we know the camera model, we can give you the right steps.  Here's how you can save the custom settings for the C1 and C2 positions compose:

1 still do not go in C1 or C2.  Instead, turn the mode dial to P, Tv, Av or M shooting modes.

    2. set the exposure settings exactly how you want.

    3. press the MENU key.  In the camera menu (noted by an icon of a camera), scroll down to the option marked "Save Settings."... "and click on the FUNC/SET button.

4 choose whether you want these settings saved for C1 or C2.  Highlight your choice and press FUNC/SET to confirm.

And that's all!  Now, you are free to change your dial mode for C1 or C2, and your custom settings will be there waiting for you every time.

This information is detailed at page 156 of your instruction manual.

    We hope this helps!

  • self-timer to aplpha 37 - portrait scene turn to the landscape of the scene

I use Sony a37 with remote control and automatic timer to make the picures of myself. When I put the portrait of the scene and after setup remote control for self-timer (9pics), turn to the camera automatically from landscape to the scene and the result is that the portrait is blury and sharp background. I would have the opposite effect of the picures.

It is recommended that set you the switches on the lens and the camera to AF. In this way, the camera automatically focuses on the subject.

The camera will switch between the different scene modes if you have the mode selector set to smart auto, or the [i] with the Green camera on your dial icon. Make sure you have the mode set knob to SNA and select [Picture] from the options that appear on the screen.

Another parameter, you can adjust is the setting for area auto focus (AF). You must set the camera mode dial Auto program (P). Refer to the illustration below for instructions.

Taking portraits, you must make sure that the setting of AF area you will use will align with the subject. You can use [area] or [place], depending on the position of the subject.

    Hello

Please, someone tell me how can I set my Canon Rebel T5 at 1/125, F11 and ISO 100?

I tried a lot of things with no success... I can always change 2 settings, but never a 3rd.

    Please help me!

    Thanks in advance

If the mode dial is set to "M", then you should be able to set one of these three values for everything you want.

My daughter used my canon rebel t4i and now some of my menu icons are missing.  She changed a certain setting and I wanted to erase all settings, well, this is not yet an option Please HELP!

I don't know if this is the problem, but if the unit is in automatic mode, taking the _out_ of the camera in this mode (for example using mode annual "M" is a good setting) on the mode dial.

The menus are pretty short if you are in fully automatic mode, so it can be that your choice of menu is hidden.

  • How can I change the shutter speed on my Sony a37?

While I'm on the Auto program my shutter speed is not the right number I want to. I do not know how to change it and wonder what to do?

In program auto mode, the camera automatically determines the combination of speed and the appropriate scene shutter opening. If you want to use a specific shutter speed, it would be best to take pictures in the priority shutter (S) Mode. Please set your mode dial on S and then spin the front dial to adjust the shutter speed.

  • 70%

I think the upgrade of my Canon Rebel t1I in the Canon 60 d.  What would be the advantanges of the 60 d.  I've been looking at the specs and comparing the two cameras, but nothing is jumping on me.   I only use my DSLR for a year, but I took classes and I think I'm ready for the upgrade, I just want to make sense.

I will go through some of the differences...

Your T1i has a 15 megapixel sensor. The 60 d has a sensor 18 megapixel. Although there is a difference of 3 megapixels, you will probably notice that for much since most of the images not take advantage of all the available image data (eg. When displaying it on screen or print, usually the resolution is lower than the native resolution of the camera.) This difference probably won't be blow by you.

The sensor of the 60 d is a little better with noise and high ISO performance. Your hats T1i out at 3200 ISO, but even at 3200, noise is quite high (e.g. use only when desperate). I always tried to keep the ISO on the T1i equal or less than 800. When you arrive at 1600 or 3200 you must acknowledge that you will have a lot of image noise and be ready to cope. The 60 d goes to ISO 6400 - but again, it will be noisy. I keep it at 1600 or below. But the net net, is that you get an extra stop of ISO performance (both in max and potential you would generally as exploitable (low noise moderated)). Probably, you will see the improved ISO performance because this corresponds to a lower at each ISO noise that you usually use as well as you to get an extra stop ISO if needed.

The focus on both system cameras alike, as you see the familiar 9 autofocus points on the 60 d, just like your T1i. But on your T1i, only the central point is a cross-type AF point (point of focus of double axis that the phase detect AF as well horizontally as vertically, it tends to be faster, more accurate and it is difficult thing missing to update.) 8 outside points are only single axis. On the 60 d all 9 focus areas are the best cross points. The focus system is a nice benefit.

The flash pop up on the 60 d may function as a 'master' to control the Speedlites off camera (they must be Canon or compatible Speedlite capable of function as 'slave' off-camera flashes – not all the flashes support this). Work as a master does not support the flash pop up on the T1i.

The LCD screen on the back the 60 d is articulated. It swings out and somersaults (it can face forward if you want to).

The 60 d has a monochrome LCD on top of the camera. In front of this screen are several buttons for instant access to AF, reader, ISO and metering mode (but also a 5th button that activates the LCD backlighting).

The T1i has a main dial (right behind the shutter button on the top/front corner). The 60 d has a control layout more like bodies of Canon pro level. It adds a great 2nd dial on the back of the camera. They are positioned so that while the front button is controlled by your index finger, the rear wheel is controlled (very comfortably btw) by the thumb. When shooting in manual mode, the shutter speed of controls front dial and the rear wheel opening of controls. When shooting in a semi-auto (P, Av or Tv) the rear dial controls exposure compensation. I _really_ prefer the layout of the double control dial. It provides more rapid (not to mention more comfortable) control the operation of the device.

The 60 d is much better at video. It can handle 1920 x 1080 at 30 frames per second. She also better master audio when recording video.

The mode dial has a setting dedicated to the "Bulb" mode (on the T1i, you can get to that by adjusting the shutter speed possible longer) and the mode dial also has a unique Custom mode ("C"). You put the camera mode you will find will swtich often, then use the menus to record that as your "custom" mode He remembers everything you set... When you want to restore these settings that you just spent in custom mode. It can be a quick way to switch between modes (for example if you're shooting sports but want to swtich between AI Servo focus and One Shot concentrate quickly depending on whether you're shooting people candid action shots vs.) I use the mode in astrophotography as a framing and exposure of test mode.

  • best settings for shooting outdoors? Canon rebel eos t3i

my brother is getting married this Saturday the 15, it'll be a wedding in the open air at 4 pm Pacific time. The weather is sunny highs of 74 depressions 55 with a chance of flurries. What are the best GENERAL setting to record the ceremony? I am a newbie of camera so I don't know squat! any help would be greatly appreciated.

Outside "Sun", I would like to use a flash.  The difference in the sunny vs parts of a shadow of your subjects will be extreme in the middle of the day sun, but the use of the flash ("fill-in flash") so that the outside is a great way to improve the appearance of a sudden.

"Program" mode on the mode selector switch.

Lift the pop-up flash (the small button near the mode dial with lightning bolt symbol unlock the catch hook and triggers the flash.)

Note that when you look through the viewfinder to take a picture, there is some information on the background... which most is information on the exhibition.  But on the left side, you will see a little lightning icon.  If you see this icon, it means that the camera will use flash when you take the picture.

In the basic modes, you have little control over when the camera will use the flash (it's automatic), but in the modes "creative zone" (program, Tv, Av and M), you have full control and can force the camera to use flash.    HOWEVER, using "program" mode is the same as the fully automatic mode (green box) * except * that you can replace several things that you can not override when using fully automatic.

It would be much better if you had an external (for example like the Canon 430EX II) speedlite because the built-in pop-up flash is very limited (subjects must be ready for that flash have much effect).

When I shoot outdoors (I also turns a wedding tomorrow), I put a feature called "Flash Exposure Compensation" to "-1".»  You can find instructions on this page 102 of your instruction manual (not the 'basic instructions manual"... the full version of the instruction manual for your camera.)  "Flash exposure corrections" asks the camera to determine how much it needs power flash (which is what it normally does), but then adjust the amount of energy upwards or downwards according to the level of "compensation" that you set.  The reason why I have dial down is that I don't want my pictures to have the look of people generally associated with photography flash... I want to still of the Sun to be the main source of light... and I want the flash to fill in deep shadow (located still have shadows... but they are going to be weak shadows instead of strong shadows).  This allows to improve lighting.

When you go inside, you want to disable "flash exposure compensation" feature by assigning to '0' (zero, does not change the amount of flash - regardless of the camera wants to do).

  • T4I freezes

    Hello

About 6 weeks, I bought my T4i with lens 18-135mm of the STM back to Amazon.  Almost every week since then I see my camera freezes a couple of times. No matter what I do, he wouldn't do ANYTHING. I tried to turn the mode dial, I tried clicking on the photos, I tried to go to the menu, I tried to put out of service! And it won't work. The only way is to remove the battery and put it back in.

There is no reliable way to reproduce the problem. I don't know what to do because it is so unreliable. I see that other users have also seen this problem, but this is not conclusive, is if it is a bug in the firmware? Or did I just a bad copy?

The displayed such firmware in the camera version is ver 1.0.1 and the lens version 1.5.0.

    Thank you

  • A77 poor image quality and development.

I notice that my A77 is having a hard time focusing and seems to always focus on my subject.  Most of the time he rear door.  It does not matter what lens I use, Tamron 70-200 2.8, Tamron 70-300USD, Tamron 17-50 2.8.  I have used these lenses on my A57 without any problem.  I played a bit with metering modes, and focusing always have the same results.  QI seems not as good as the A57.  I noticed a lot of red on the faces of my subjects and bright colors are not there.  The camera is around the age of 8 months.  For any help or suggestion would be greatly appericated.

Please try to change the following settings on your camera:

    • AF mode (dial located at the lower left of the camera with the lens facing you) - select S (single-shot) for static subjects, and select C (continuously) for moving subjects. If you want the camera to choose between S and C automatically, select an (automatic).

  • Join a new MD1000 to an MD3000 existing query

I'm as confused as if I connect our new MD1000 to our exisiting MD3000 in unified mode or in shared mode. Our existing MD3000 has 2 controllers host at the back of the it. Our new MD1000 has a primary EMM and a secondary EMM. What I can do I connect the MD3000 the MD1000 in shared Mode by running a cable from the "in" on the primary EMM in the MD1000 to the available port in the first controller on the MD3000 host (slot 0) then by running a second cable from the 'in' on the secondary EMM in the MD1000 to the available port on the second controller on the MD3000 host (slot 1).

Can you confirm that the above is what I have to do?

Also looking at the requirements for adding the MD1000 it is mentioned that I need to have the following:

"Developing an existing Md3000 with a new Md1000 chassis system".
Follow these steps to fix a new MD1000 to an MD3000 existing extension
    attachment.
NOTICE: The mode dial must be in the position of the mode "Uni" for the MD1000 chassis to function
    with the MD3000 chassis.
1 on the MD3000 chassis, upgrade the controller to A01 or later software.
2 on the host servers and the MD3000 system, follow these steps (in order) to upgrade
    components:
an upgrade of the SAS 5/E driver and firmware. For Windows hosts, use the update package.
For Linux hosts, use the DKMS package.
b upgrade the Modular Disk Storage Manager on each host server. (The latest version is available
from the support.dell.com site.) Refer to the Installation Guide of PowerVault MD3000 for further
    information.
c upgrade pilots multichannel on each host server. Paths multiple drivers are provided with the
Modular disk (MD) Storage Manager installation package.
On Windows hosts, the drivers are installed automatically when you install MD Storage Manager
in Full mode or host. On Linux hosts, you must install Multipath drivers manually.
NOTICE: If you are prompted, restart the host servers during the upgrade process.
3 once all components have been upgraded, to stop one or more hosts, then shut down the MD3000
    attachment.
4 attach the MD1000 expansion on the MD3000 chassis, following the steps in the
Dell PowerVault Compatibility Matrix (available from support.dell.com site). »

Is there documentation that explains how to perform updates to the firmware on the MD3000 and the MD1000? Thank you.

    Doug

The minimum to connect to a MD3000 is A03 and A04 later and came out for about 3 years now, so if you bought your speaker this year, it came with A04 already and the MD1000 itself should not need upgrades (drives in the MD1000 is another story, but you can not determine their firmware until you connect it to the MD3000).
