Captivate 9 alignment Quiz questions

Hi all

I'm having a little trouble and am unable to find a solution anywhere on the web (so far).

Let me explain the situation:

I created a master apron for my business and put everything in plans, good color, and all in the master apron looks perfect.

However when I add questions to multiple choice or true/false quiz slides to a new project the alignment of the response overlap and may not be suitable.

After that, I noticed, I went back to the master slides and tried to change alignment here before trying to add slides to a new project.

Once again the A / B answers where superimposed and I was unable to move either to another location.

Try to recover the box response and displacement it causes all forms and all other objects on the slide to warp out of shape, while the answer superimposed boxes remain the same.

Master slides that are do are: multiple CHOICE, T/F, FIB, sequence and multiple CHOICE, T/F, FIB, sequence2

My version number is: 9.0.1.320

Thanks in advance for any help.

Sincerely,

Sean

I solved the problem I had with the alignment of the quiz answers.

It was with the corner radius cut response fields "cemented" in a certain placement of page layout.

By decreasing the RADIUS response has become incorporated into the form again after box placement which in the live slides I could handle once more the placement of the response boxes.

So if the alignment of the fixed elements is off and cannot be moved over, check the corner radius to make sure that the object that is aligned incorrectly is embedded in the form once more allowing it to be manipulated to your favorite place!

Hi, I have a question about the feature of revision quiz in Captivate 5.  When I review quiz, questions and the buttons do not appear.  I checked the transition between slides to "fade in" only.  Questions remain missing after the review.  Figure out and can't find any post related to this issue.

    Thank you.

Ok.  By the look of your screenshots you have deleted some elements of the quiz question slides.

Were you remove all standard legends such as the legend of title or caption Quiz, or items such as the control box?

Captivate 5.5 prohibited for different types of a quiz question slides to work properly?

I have a quiz that includes multiple choice questions, multiple choice with several answers, sequencing, and short answer questions. I was told in an online conversation that I had to use a default template to Captivate with a type of question only for captivate slide works correctly. The Adobe representative remotely considering my record, and discovered that the quiz button is not connected to any action, even if I created it a slide of questionnaire.

Friendly format for this question slide!  Very cool.

One thing I want to suggest you check if you meet problems with question slides, but you have not accidentally deleted default captions that are on the slide when Captivate adds to your quiz.  For example if you have deleted or replaced the title of the question (the one that tells you that it is a true/false or multiple choice) or legends question text (the one that allows you to enter the question to which the user is supposed to reply), then you can expect to have strange problems arise.

Usually, I suggest to users that they're trying to click the little eye icon on the timeline for the quiz question so that it hides all the objects on the slide.  This icon SHOULD NOT overshadow the default Captivate captions or buttons.  He must hide captions or the items that you added to the slide when it was inserted.  If you click on this icon and you see the title of the issue or question text captions disappear, then you are snookered and need to rebuild this quiz with a new question.  You can not re - insert these specialized legends once you've deleted.  They come with question slides.  Most users of Captivate are blissfully unaware that these legends of importance both for the proper functioning of the quiz.

One last thing: some of your symptoms suggest that you have the Quiz settings > required options set too tight.  Make sure that the drop is set to optional for the highest degree of flexibility.

  • Captivate 7 - Quiz questions take a long time to advance to the next

So I have completed my course. All along (each slides or so) I quiz questions that are classified but undeclared. They are simply there to prepare the student for the final exam. They have the opportunity to submit the response followed legends correct and incorrect. At the end of the course, the trainee meeting these same issues (55 in total), but now they are back to back and they are both classified and reported. Here, they have only the option to submit.

When they take undeclared quiz questions, click on submit and it quickly goes to the next slide, because it is set up to do. BUT on issues that are noticed and reported, when they click on submit, it really takes a lot of time to move to the next slide (and a lot of time, I mean 10 more seconds). At the end of the review, when they answered the final question, and click to go on, the two final slides take more time (sometimes up to a minute) to move forward.

I understand it is going to be some delay while the system reports the score for each slide, but this seems abnormally long. This shift occurs in preview mode, scormcloud and during a test on a LMS (Gyrus) client.

Any idea on why this is and how to prevent it. It's really hard to ask my customers to be patient and stay there for 10 seconds every single issue. I need them to take the final exam at their own pace - fast or slow.

    Thanks in advance,

    Arthur

I know, it is barely visible, because the line between the inactive and the Active part is black on a blue background (already invited for 6 or 5.5 to change that color...) You will need to go over it all in the middle of the timeline until you see the line double cursor appearing and you can put:

Go to the next slide makes them faster. I had no problem with our LMS, but read on this forum (you know that I am often here) that some have done so. No rule of the world, by dragging the break more towards the end has almost the same effect, but you can leave a little bit more time (less than the 1.5secs).

As I know there is no way to change the sleep time by default for Question slides, as the timing is never available on Quiz Master slides.

  • Captivate 5: reading random Questions in a Quiz

    Hi all

I know it is possible to mix the answers to a quiz, but is it possible to mix the issues? I would like to mix my questions so that users are presented with quiz questions in a random order.

    Thank you!

    Brittany

Next, you will have the chance would be to use the Question Pools and have many questions of variation.  Change the order of questions is not really effective.  Change the real issues is a much better way to test participant knowledge.

  • Panel to quiz question

I've updated the preferences in captivate 9 for Quiz default labels.  I want to "Skip: ' for show 'Next' - I entered my preferences.

In the quiz Panel, it says 'Skip '.   How can I change this?

    Thank you

    Norma

Why? It has only the functionality of a "Skip" button and if you make it, then it will be very confusing for the user: his answer is not counted if they're using the next button instead of the Submit button that happens often.

This is the reason why, in the Panel properties Quiz, this button is indicated as a "Skip" button, which means that the user is not authorized to answer this question. I do not always agree with the terminology used in Captivate, but it really IS a very good indication.

In previous versions, the "Skip" button had a double feature: during the quiz, it meant 'Skip' as is still the case in the CP9. but during the review, it was necessary that the next button. It's no longer the case in CP9: there are buttons dedicated to the back and then during the review. It is IMO a vast improvement over previous confusing situations. This is the reason why I don't understand any of your request.

  • Is it possible to set actions on the button "submit" a Quiz question?

Is it possible to set actions on the button "submit" a Quiz question? I want to advance to the next slide or continue when they get the question right, or come at the end of the tent, they are allowed. I would like to eliminate the Next continue/button. Why does take two actions to come out of the slide? I use 8 Captivate.

Not possible, or you you screw up the functionality of the quiz slide. Submit button is the most important object of each slide of the default questionnaire.

I suspect that you are not on 9 Captivate but on an earlier version? Perhaps reading this article:

Question Question slides in Captivate - Captivate blog

You don't need the next to all button if you do not allow the review. If you allow the review, you cannot uncheck, because otherwise the user will be pasted on slides during the review. You can drag the next button under the light of the button (see article). The Send button will trigger actions Success/Last attempt, that you can use to your advantage.

If you want to limit the submission of a single click process, you will find a scenario in the same article

  • Quiz questions provide no selectable response in HTML5 publish

I have problems with quiz, while HTML5 format does not allow the user to select answers in quiz slides...

    • I publish a Captivate 7 to two separate LMS project ' for the purposes of beta testing.
    • When I publish as HTML5 project only, the quiz question appears as well as the possible answers, but the form field does not appear, therefore making the user completely unable to choose an answer.
    • Publish the same project as the swf and HTML5 gives perfect results. (Quiz slide, selectable responses and form field appears and work)

    Any advice?

    I solved my problem.

I inserted a background image in each slide master question.

When we look at the model of slides or slide on the timeline, the slide would be good lokk. All text objects and drag, including responses, would be present on the slide as they should.

However, once published, the background image would cover the fields of the form allows you to select the right answers. Not only prevents the user to select an answer, but also caused major problems with the audio tracks and CC after the quiz.

  • Add Drag and Drop Quiz question

    Hello

I'm a complete newbie to Adobe captivate.

Can someone help me with the addition of a Drag and Drop issue a standard set of Quiz questions, so he gets calculated as a total score?

    Thank you!

& Sliding is interactive, which means that, in the properties panel, you will see the accordion Reporting. There, you can attach a note and check the option Add to the Total. The score will be automatically added to the quiz variables system.

  • First Quiz question is ignored during the second attempt.

    Hi all

I have this weird problem with a quiz.

    Situation

With Captivate 6.1, I have a Question of pool with 5 questions. The issues are all 1.7 sec on the timeline with the standard pauzé at 1.5. No feedback is given, all buttons are disabled except the submit button.

In the project, I have 5 random slides, related to the question of the questions pool.

The quiz settings: 80% for spend, infinite attempts.

    Question

When I start the second or third try of the quiz, the first question is shown, but after a second or two, publication (SWF and SWF-SCORM) continues to the second question.

    It has not resolved

    These things I tried:

    1. Reissue with "Force republish all slides" selected.
    2. Removing all the Question slides in the project and recreate them from scratch.

Can someone help me with this?

    Best regards

    Dieter

I have heard some evidence that you should never set quiz question slides less than 3 seconds in length.

Try to make all the quiz questions about 3 seconds with the break point to 1.5 seconds and see if it improves the problem.

Another request: do you have removed or replaced one of the elements by default question slide as the legend of the Question title or caption of the Question text? If so, which can also cause behaviors glitch.  You will need to delete questions that you have changed this way and replace them with quiz question slides.

  • Cp6 - Quiz questions (change the behavior to submit button - quiz numbering)

    Hi all

This is the first time I built a Uncategorized quiz (I call it an evaluation of knowledge - placed between courses).

I chose Multiple choice quiz and scored (deselected report answers to the Quiz properties).

    Issues related to the:

Is there a way to change the Quiz unintuative actions and button controls?

I want the learner to be able to click on the submit button and move to the next question immediately (like any other rating system I've ever seen)

The way Captivate: click on submit, display a correct or incorrect and if it is correct, ask to the learner to click on 'Y' or anywhere to continue.

I have three sets of questions of quiz (for each of the three lessons).

Is it possible to keep the number of distinct quizzes in each lesson. Currently, there are 4 questions in Lesson 1, 5 in Lesson 2 and 3 in Lesson 3. I want some lesson 1 quiz questions to display 'x 4' NOT 'x 12"'.

    And MOST important...

Quiz results appears ONLY on the last set of questions. I need a result of quiz for each of the three sets of questions. Is this possible?

    Thank you

  • Captivate 5.5 Quiz preferences

Using Version 5.5. I create multiple choice quiz slides where the user has three attempts to answer the questions correctly.  In case the user is unable to correctly answer the question in three attempts, is there a way to display the correct answer after the third incorrect try?

    Hello

Each Quiz Question allows you to configure up to three stories of failure. One way you could do this would be to configure the third legend failure so he gave the answer.

  • students unable to enter the answers to quiz questions

I launched our first class and coming up on a problem that I have not met that we tested the course.

I created the course in Captivate 5.

All our learners use their computers to complete the statement, and I have no control on what equipment they use.

A couple reported that they are unable to enter the answers to the quiz question. For example, it will not even let click the buttons for the multiple choice answers. Those who reported the issue seem to have older computers (about 5 years), but say that they have updated to the new version of flash player.

We tested the module on some newer computers, and we didn't have this particular problem at all.

What could cause such a problem?

    Sanna

    Sanna,

He need to sit and actually watch users who claim to have these problems.  It is likely that what they complain about could be the result of user error.  For example, they may have left the scope of quiz at some point after entering the quiz (maybe to dive towards the content of the slides and check one) that would then lock up their quiz slides and avoid answering.   If you look at exactly what they're doing, then you will know if yes or not it's really a fault in your course or not.

Just to check if the issue is reached scope quiz, make sure you move backward is disabled in the quiz settings.  Which should prevent users from being able to jump away from quiz easily.  See if your problems disappear or are significantly reduced.

  • Captivate answers personalized quiz result

    Hi all

I don't know how to ask this question, so I'll just give you the result, so I'm looking:

In Captivate, I create a question 20 survery (yes/no responses). I need captivate to count the number of times where the user has selected the 'YES' and based on this number, to provide a result/answer.

    Example:

(Total number of 'YES' chosen by the user)

    1-5 "you are happy.

    6-10 "you are extremely happy."

    11-15 «you are annoyingly happy»

I know that the variables are involved but don't know where to start.

    Thanks in advance

No, you can have only a quiz in a file. That's why the score slide "moved" to extend the scope of quiz.

You can show the results of the first quiz, but need to create that partial score slide yourself, using system variables Quizzing. But the final score will always be the partition of all slides. If you don't want a separate partition, you will need to create the quiz 'investigation' using slides custom instead of the default question slides.

I was asking earlier because the thread is still unanswered?

  • Captivate 5 (no Quiz) published in SCORM 1.2 - Saba 5.4.3

I have a 13 'reader' page where the learner should only view the slides, and when they get to the end, near the course.

I'm on Saba 5.4.3.  I'm editing of SCORM 1.2 but can not seem to get 'course' to go to the "transcript".

I have tested almost all combinations of 'settings' (though - the right - which is deceiving me).

Here are the parameters that make me show the 'completed' in the 'TOC' courses still closing remains in inscriptions.

    STATEMENT QUIZ

    Enable communication for project (ticked)

    SCORM-> clear (1.2)-> default

    Status report

    Complete / complete (checked)

    Report to the LMS as

    "Percent"

Data in the report have chosen

    "Slide views only", then 100

    Report level

    "Interactions and Score."

    Success or failure:

Pass or Options fail: ' 75% or more... ". »

I tried to use '0% ', I used a different number point of view "Slide".

I tried to 'Score' vs 'per cent'

Any help would be great, thanks!

I suggest that you use a button instead of a quiz question since you must properly configure the issue so that he won't have that one click on the button submit.  Otherwise it will take two clicks per user. To submit and another click to progress.  A normal button will always work with a single click.

Just add a normal Captivate to the second last slide and this button the option Report of Quiz with a score of 1.

Label this button something like click here to complete this Module or similar, so that all learners get the idea they REALLY NEED to click on this button or else their courses are no more.  Simply adjust as continue or go to action page based on the success of the button action.

Do the last slide in the film quite short, maybe a second or two. Set preferences > action of end of project-to-project stop or close project, depending on what seems better to work with your LMS.  If you throw all the course modules in a window for the SCORM player, you can often use close project.  But if you spear the course content in the SCORM player, you will find that some LMS will not allow the Close command project and project to stop is a better option.

If it's any consolation, you shouldn't need to do this just to have your course to complete, but yours isn't the only LMS that does this with Captivate content.
