Card drive is not recognize

Original title: is it cutting or windows 7?

I have windows 7 64 bit.

I recently bought a cutting floppy usb drive.

It installed ok, was visible in windows Explorer.

As requested by cutting, I waited more than a minute to insert the disc.

As soon as I clicked on the disc to open it, I got the message to insert a floppy disk.

I could never get it to recognize the drive.

I tried several disks with the same result.

Bad camera, or a system/software problem?

Hi Ronnie, thanks for your response.

I had already looked at so info available on the web site for an answer to cutting.

I had no idea what were the support tickets.  However, using this method

and received a response to an offer to send my mailing address for them and they

send a replacement.  (I assume it was either a faulty drive or they didn't know the answer.)

I appreciate you the input and thanks for the reply.

The card reader does not recognize the cards.  It does not have a drive location (example: f drive).   This makes it impossible to veiw the files or photos on any (I tried six different) of my SanDisk SD cards.  I can't find anywhere to downlod corrected card rhe read updates update drivers or BIOS for my system.   I just bought this computer 1 week ago and do not understand why I read in the forums about driver issues of card reader for the last year.  Windows 8.1 has been out for some time.  Why HP would sell these computers without updating the software to make them work as they should?

Thanks for the info.  Disk management does not show the drive.  The problem was resolved after reloading BIOS, as suggested in another post.

  • External CD drive does not recognize the CD burned on El Capitan.

Using El Capitan 10.11.5 and an external hard drive, I have burned successfully mp3 files iTunes CD - I can play on the computer itself - but an external CD drive does not recognize, even if the Player recognizes the discs once engraved on Snow Leopard and previous models.  What's wrong? • Satellite P200 accidents + message: graphic card driver does not work properly

    Hello

hope that this issue has not been covered before, but I've owned a Satellite P200 for 3 years now, and this week, it crashes all the time.

When it started going down he gave me a few messages in the sense of "your graphics card/driver does not work properly and windows will be arrested to avoid damage.

It has progressed to the point where now when I turn it on, I have vertical lines running down the screen and the screen flashes on and outside. Within 20 seconds, it restores the BSOD - 'there was a problem and windows will be arrested. Error Page_Fault_In_Non_Paged_Area"then stops.

I ran a system restore but the problem remains.

I have a feeling that my graphics card is toast. Is this good? Are there any other options to try? Thanks in advance for any answers.

    Matt

    Hello

    Sounds like the GPU problem.
But try the graphics card driver update.
Use the most recent driver for your graphics card.

In addition, clean the fans of portable computers.
Dust and debris could prevent the cooling fans to turn with the best speed and this could lead to a higher temperature which would lead to overheating.
Use a jet of compressed air. I also use it and it helps to get rid of dust and debris.

If this is not enough, then a problem of graphics chip would be possible.

I bought this game for my son who has installed ok. But when pressed on play error message: the current video card/driver does not support openGL3.1 or newer.

We have Windows Vista SP2. Does this mean I now have to buy a video card or y at - there a way around this without costing me more money?

    Hello

I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it helps.

Method 1: make sure the game is compatible with your computer.

Method 2: update the video card driver and check if that helps.

Update a hardware driver that is not working properly: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/Update-a-driver-for-hardware-that-isn ' t-work properly

If both methods fail, you will then need to get a new video card.

    I hope that helps!

Hello res04n70, it is possible the CD laser has become defective or even dirty, since you mentioned, he began to act gradually upward. The DVD has a separate laser. This may explain why the DVD works as it should.

Ypu can consider replacing the DVD drive, because they are pretty cheap now. Some brand DVD players can be purchased for less than $20.00 USD.

Here a link to NewEgg is where some of these players can be found.

    Just some thoughts.

  • T400s 5-1 card reader MicroSD not recognize!

I have problems with my T400s does not not not my MicroSD card. When I bought the laptop 2 months ago, so I chose the option of card reader 5-1 instead of the ExpressCard34. It was read just fine, including my SDHC 16 GB that I use for my camera and MicroSD 2 GB / 4 GB for NDS my sister.

But today, I tried to add files to the MicroSD card and the computer does not recognize the MicroSD cards more. When I plug the adapter into the card reader, it has even not the answer, as if the MicroSD card is not even inserted in the adapter. I have several different cards and MicroSD cards of different size and none of the combinations of them worked. The drive still reads normal SD cards very well.

It's very strange because he was working a few weeks ago and now it doesn't recognize NO MicroSD cards with the help of adapters. I tried restarting the computer and made sure that it is the latest driver but nothing new happened.

What is going on? I paid the great fortunes for this laptop and he is already giving me so many problems after 2 months of use. Does anyone have a solution for this?

Exactly the same problem that happened with me. I've just disabled the device in Device Manager and then allow him again. And after that, it worked.

  • Satellite A500-141 - the CD/DVD drive will not recognize any disk in the status bar

I watch the DVD yesterday and he played upward halfway through and almost jerky. Ejected and thought no more of him now, the player will not recognize any disc, be it video or sound. I tried a system restore but still the same thing that it is not read disks. Any help appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi quietly,

If your CD/DVD drive doesn't work, how do you have a system restore?

Is the CD/DVD drive listed in Device Manager correctly or you see a yellow exclamation mark on it?

Maybe the lens is dirty and must be cleaned with a Microfiber cloth. Open try CD/DVD and try to clean the lens with a clean Microfiber cloth.

  • Satellite M60-155: drive does not recognize DVD

The multidrive on my laptop does not recognize DVD-he just turns and clicks.

It recognizes the CD tho. I've had this problem before, but did not pick up the CD player and it plays DVDs.
I managed to solve this last time, but I do not remember how.

    Any ideas?

    Hello

Don't you remember how you solved the problem? ?:|
    Hmm, very strange.
However, I think that it s a problem of calibration of lens of the drive.
The lens can not be calibrated properly and that's why the drive cannot read the media.

Have you tried to remove the drive from the laptop? If this is not the case, try to remove it. Then start without the drive. Then shut off the unit. Reinstall the drive and start the laptop. The firmware should take over again and maybe the lens is calibrated in the right position.

You can also try to clean the lens gently. But if the whole points will not help you may need to replace the drive

  • Internal SD card reader does not recognize SD card

I have an internal SD card reader I have ever used before.  I am trying to download pictures from an sd card that I used on my desktop and it works fine, but when I insert in my laptop nothing happens. I went to start / my computer and there is no driver does not list other than my cd/dvd driver. How can I fix it?

Mini SD cards and adapters are the hassle that I connect
my phone with a USB cable for uploading photos.

    In any case...

The card reader should not require no installation. If this is not
recognized, it can be fried or it is possible, there could be a
    loose connection inside the housing.

  • CD/DVD drive does not recognize the DVD media disc.

    Greetings,

Had problems with my CD/DVD drive not being able to recognize that a DVDmovie disc is in the drive.

I tried to turn on/off, reinstalled the driver, update the driver, check if AutoPlay is enabled (currently set to invite me) and have used the Microsoft Automated Troubleshooting system which could not solve the problem.

I am able to burn data and audio files on CD/DVD very well, it will read the same types without problems.  But whenever a DVDmovie disc is, it does not recognize, there is a disc in the drive, or Autoplay hit.

Also clean the laser lens with isopropyl alcohol.

    Thoughts?

Honestly, I had not checked immediately after I cleaned the lens, but it works now.  I am convinced that cleaning the lens resolved.

I had posted this, and then read somewhere else to clean the lens, has made, edited my post saying I had it done and then tried a DVD and it worked.

  • My DVD drive does not recognize DVD game discs.

My NEC ND-4550-reader DVD - RW does not recognize DVD game discs.
He has no problem reading movie DVDs and music CDs or access data CD and DVD burnt with data on them.
I removed and let XP Reinstall the device and high-low filters removed the registry etc nothing works.
I made a copy of a DVD game on another PC and it is recognized and install my PC.
All DVD discs work very well on the other PC.
I am running Windows XP Professional with SP2.
MS Fixit controls indicate no problems.
This would be a matter of software protection?
All tried game DVDs are official records and not copies.
The NEC ND-4550 uses cdrom.sys as pilot.

Finally, I replaced the drive for a new one (Pioneer DVR-S18L) and everything now works as it should.
So I suspect that it's a hardware problem and not one that can be resolved by any of the Windows settings.
