  I know that the drive is compatible, because in the past, I ran these discs very on my computer. I tried the blank CD, DVD, bought CD + DVD, burned CD + DVD and they all produce the same result: nothing happens. When I right click on my drive and select the option 'Explorer', an empty window temporarily opens and closes. When I double-click on the drive, nothing happens.   You could try to copy the contents of the DVD to a folder on your hard drive. Then start the installation from there.

  (I've seen a post or two during the upgrade to Windows 7 64 bit of Vista 32 bit). Could just be a funky DVDROM drive problem. Copy of the files should ignore the issue.
