  • Satellite 1800-100 CD-rom boot failure

Hi, I tried to reinstall windows 2000 and then I got error messages and rebooted. But now if I want to choose my boot device is cdrom with f2, nothing happens! I use a bootable cdrom, I tried some other CD bootable, the same problem aswell. The CD-ROM led continues to Flash, but does not start the windows installer. I have no boot-floppy so please help. Maybe a bios update will help you?
    Thank you

    Hello

Try to enter the BIOS settings by pressing the ESC key at startup of the unit. If it works, change the boot order and set the CD drive as the first. Another way C key after the startup of the device. Keep it down for a short period. This way the CD-rom will be chosen as first boot device.

  • A reinstall of Windows SP3 will set my automatic boot DVD-ROM failure?

My two readers of DVD - ROM have stopped start automatic on both drives to install program and records of music & video.  I tried to change the registry by a patch of Microsoft article, but the problem is still there.  Another program I have installed in the past may have somehow missed upward.  I suspect that the reinstallation of Windows SP3 may solve the problem.  However, because SP3 came out years ago, we have a LOT of Windows security updates.  My question is this.  Could adversely affect anything on my system to try simply re-run the exe to install SP3 which I just downloaded from Microsoft?  If this seems a feasible idea, I'd lose all these dozens and dozens of Windows security updates that I downloaded via Windows update since two years ago first SP3 installed, or if it is not serious?

    Hello

You will not be able to reinstall SP3, unless uninstall you it. Re-install it will not be very useful, you can try running sfc (click Start-> Run Type & -> sfc / scannow-> ok) it will take your XP disc.

You can try to turn autorun by: open my computer-> right click CD/DVD Drive-> Autorun. You can also try the method of register on the Microsoft Web site: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/330135

    I hope this helps.

-use F12 at startup and choose the CD/DVD drive
    -Press c at start up

    Somehow, he has to work.

  • Aurora R4 BIOS ROM Checksum failure but boots 50% of the time?

About half the time to try to start it normally does so and the other half it does not, start but all the lights and fans turn but nothing appears on my monitor and it gives 1 beep every seconds for BIOS ROM checksum failure (Possible MB). It started after the installation of Windows 10.

Any help? and why would it only to start half the time?

    I solved the problem!

Thanks to Tesla1856 and this post with links to Tesla by Cass-Ole messages. I flashed the bios A11 of A08 by creating a USB bootable and update of the dos environment. She completed successfully and now I can now boot Windows every time and have either messages with beeps.

So far, it seems that the Windows activation message has been linked to this issue, and the issue of 'previous overclocking failed ".

The only thing I can think that caused it was installing Windows 10 he apparently stores the key "deeper" in the motherboards bios, but I don't know

  • Inspiron 5150 boot from DVD - ROM

    Hello

I'm getting ready to install a new hard drive and therefore need start and re-install the operating system via the DVD - ROM drive. forgive my ignorance, but the Windows CD should be in the DVD - ROM drive before I turn on the machine? If so, how one open the DVD-ROM when the laptop is turned off?

Is it possible to insert the Windows CD after the switching on of the machine, if no OS is elsewhere, like on the new HD? I'm scared to jump off that Cliff until I know the answers to these questions.

Thanks in advance for all the words of advice.

  • My CD-ROM/DVD-Rom drive & the Bison Webcam built into my laptop. Does not work after I upgraded from Vista home premium to Windows 7 Home premium.

My readers Optiarc DVD - RW AD-7530 ATA Device DVD/CD-ROM & the Bison Webcam built into my laptop. Does not work after I upgraded from Vista home premium to Windows 7 Home premium.
Although of course, the CD-ROM drive worked during the upgrade.
I noticed that when I turn firstly on the laptop, the last two lines of the front entry from Windows 7 are the following.
PXE - E6i:Media Test Failure, Check Cable
PXE - MOF: Exit PXE Rom
During the audit of each Properties in Device Manager devices", I learned that they both work correctly.  In the list in the printers and the @Devices the only Webcam shown is also a "USB 2.0 Camera"
    Can someone help me please?
    Best regards
    John

    Besides what abdelhak says:

The message of PXE boot that you receive when you start your computer has nothing to do with your CD/DVD-Rom drive. Your computer uses a PXE boot method to attempt to load Windows from a location on your network. Since you do not have this configuration, it is safe to ignore it. If it slows down the startup time of your system, contact your manufacturer and ask them for instructions on how to "disable PXE Network Boot of the BIOS.

    Hope this helps,

  • The CD-ROM/DVD-ROM driver failed to initialize

Keeps my CD/DVD-ROM driver not boot on the market.  Device Manager, says the driver is there, but it does boot, where will not read or write.  It's on an eMachines T3642 that came with Vista Home Premium.  The supplied operating system CD is available but not (obviously) read.  Help me not sysem restore... first restore point is September 22, 2009 and several dates different restoration do not help.

eMachines support provides no answers on products out of warranty.  This set was purchased in January 2008, has worked very well with several old and a few new programs and material added since then.

According to the diagnosis of Vista via the Device Manager, the failure of the pilot gave 37 error code.  The driver date is 21/06/2006, version 6.0.6002.18005,.

Quandry: SOMETHING again loaded in via CD-ROM cannot load because the drive can't read it.     :-(
The diagnosis of MS an available (on another window) will not download. (?)

Color me irritated and frustrated (not a good fashion these days).  Help, please.

    Sincerely, Len Anderson

    Hello AF6AY,

Have you tried to uninstall the dvd via the Device Manager drive then restart PC to see if Windows reinstalls? You can do it. If the problem is still there, can give a try? It is a quick easy fix from Microsoft, here is the link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314060. You need to uninstall all third-party software (example: Roxio, Nero, or iTunes) from your computer before you make this correction. After you restart, you can reinstall your software and try again to see if that solves your problem. Otherwise, it could be a bad optical drive. Hope this helps you. Let us know anyway. Make it a great day!

    Hello

What laptop you have and which system is used?

Normally you don't need an extra DVD driver except DVD RAM is used!

Is there rather than any failure with the DVD? Why can't I use it more?

    Please write some more information!

  • My Satellite M40X: DVD Rom has had serious problem

    Dear friends,

my laptop worked for 3 months without any problem.these days when I put a CD in DVD rom is not recognized and a error message on the screen that says that no cd is in the drive.could would be a software problem or it's definitely a hardware malfunction. I look forward seriously to your instructions

    Amir

Installed some burning software, burning plugins or something similar? In most cases, these programs are the troublemakers. Try to uninstall all your burning stuff, and maybe it's a good idea that you download a reference (such as ultimate boot cd cd; Link: http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/download.html) or memtest (http://www.memtest86.com/) and try to boot from the cd. When the CD starts correctly, then you know it's something with the configuration of your software.

    Try it :)

    Welcome them

  • Can what external CD/DVD-Rom I use on Portege 3500

Does anyone know what are the criteria for an external CD ROm for a Portege 3550? There are 3 units recommended in the forum that could restart the Toshiba Reinstall the Portege 3500 drives, 2 Targus and Toshiba 1.

This seems very limited. In particular the 2793008 of Toshiba will do the job? No USB unit is recommended and it seems it takes a 16-bit interface - not a 32-bit.

    Can someone clarify please?

    Hello

I don t think that it will be able to boot from USB key because the BIOS doesn t it supports.
If you want to retrieve from the CardBus PCMCIA adapter you will need a special disc boot that allows the start of the PC 16-bit PCMCIA card.

    I found these drivers:
    Light Slimline CD-ROM 24 x, PX1052E-1NMD (16-bit PCCard)
    Slimline CD - RW 8 x / 8 x / 24 x CDRW, PX1054E-1NST (CardBus)
    Slimline DVD - ROM 8 x / 24 x, PX1053E-1NMD (CardBus)
    Slimline Combo, PX1055E-1NST (CardBus)

I am trying to use the product recovery dvd - rom on my Equium A60 and found that the reader not recoginse not the disc. I tried DVD movies, audio CD and other disks installion and all work well and the recovery disc is recognized on the other 2 computers I tried it on if the drive is not damaged.

    Can anyone help?

Hold on! Have you tried to boot from the recovery DVD or have you tried to boot under Windows OS?

I put t know exactly what could be wrong but sometimes a lens player could malfunction and could not calibrate correctly. In this case some mediums are not readable.

  • Portege 400: CD/DVD-ROM does not recognize the CD more

    Hello

    I have a portege 4000 with a CD/DVD-ROM SD-C2502 drive.
It accepts allright DVD but can't read CD (both data and music) more. The error message indicates the data format is not supported by windows, or there is a formatting error. Things has been OK until I recently installed PowerDVD on my PC.
I uninstalled PowerDVD, but nothing has changed. What can I do?

    see you soon

    Hello

1, you can set the default BIOS with BIOS loading and the Home key settings!

2, check if, www.toshiba-europe.com/storage, an update of the firmware of your player is available!
And then try to do, maybe it will help!

Otherwise, I think your drive is broken and the failure can only be fixed with a replacement!
    Sorry!

  • Re: Satellite A100-207 player of DVD-ROM must be replaced

My DVD - ROM drive has stopped reading / recognition of the disks. It is not a case of needing a disc cleaner so I think it plays up and needs to be replaced. Someone has any advice / manuals etc. to know how to get chase him and the perils of trying such a replacement?

I would appreciate all the advice really.

    Thank you.

I tried once in my previous laptop, it is not as easy as a desktop PC, because readers of the laptop are not exactly standard.

The façade of the new player was not properly aligned, and I could not transfer the front plate of the defective drive because the buttons and the clips are different.
More it would work even without the façade, the laptop simply failed to detect.

I think it was a firmware issue.

So if you want a replacement, the best option would be to go to a Toshiba Service Center and replace the disk with a real. You may even be able to upgrade to a DVD-R/W drive.

Are but before you replace the disk, you sure this isn't a software problem? It boot from the bootable CD?
It may just be the upper/lower filters in the registry.
