  • HP OfficeJet Pro 6830 constantly go 'offline' and cannot print

    Hello world.

I love my HP OfficeJet Pro 6830. It does everything I need a printer / scanner but it is one of the aspects that are really starting to annoy me and my family (i.e. my WIFE!) - he continues to go 'Offline '.

I understand perfectly that it needs/desires to go to save mode, when I'm not using it or have not used for some time, but for now, every time I have seem to need to use it (after I have not used for some time) of energy, it is listed as 'offline' and the only way I can print is stepping on him , turn off, turn it back on, wait a while so it connects to my WiFi network and then have another go. Then it works... and prints the other five copies of the document that my eager family tried to print!

"HP print and Scan Doctor" said he of just nothing wrong and just suggest just uninstall and reinstall. I already tried and it changed nothing. Same problem with Windows 7 and 8.1. It will print a page of 'internal' test, but not via Windows test page.

I also tried to restart the spoler and checked the 'File and Printer sharing' settings, the firewall settings and looked at the network discovery and run various windows troubleshooting tools without result. Nothing works, but the HP Officejet Pro 6830 software can see / communicate with him! It's so frustrating.

Someone at - it ideas? This really, REALLY boring. Thanks in advance to anyone who donated their time to help me.

    Regards,

    Steve.

  • HP Officejet Pro 6830, model 6: print head problems

Have an Officejet Pro 6830, model 6835.  Error message received saying this printer had print head problem.  Also the error code oxc19a0020.  Troubleshoot-carried out every day to solve the problem without success.  Reset, change cartridges, activated and deactivated (including source) and nothing has worked.  Bought on 23/04/15.  Only three months old.  Help!

Hi, I would advise to call HP support immediately about this, as it is likely that you will need a replacement printer.

Can you please let me know how you go?

  • OfficeJet Pro 6830: Officejet 6830 noise

Since the automatic last update (a few days ago), my printer started making a rhythmic whining sound (similar to an old dial-up modem) when it is in standby mode. The noise comes close the power supply to the back of the printer. Whenever the noise happens, it is accompanied by a twinkle of a yellow LED near the input power agreement.

I removed the power cable from the surge protector and plugged directly into the wall, but the problem persists. If I turn off the wireless feature, the noise changes pitch, but continues. The noise stops when the printer is turned on and working. I checked for new updates, but the printer tells me that all the current updates are in place.

I wish I had this going away, as being close to the printer (in my living room) is driving me crazy unless I unplug it.

Hi people, can you please try the latest firmware (published June 1) and let us know if that fixes the problem?

Trying to connect to my HP Officejet Pro 6830 printer wireless network, but it says 'integrated network capacities have been disabled. Contact your administrator or the person who set up the printer.

I put the printer myself, and there is no administrator. It didn't work because I had to change the router.

  • OfficeJet Pro 6830: replaced warranty for printer and cartridges of manipulation

My Officejet Pro 6830 AiO printer doesn't have 3 months after purchase (power supply is ok, but it no longer lights). I contacted HP support and a replacement printer is on the way.
Unfortunately I replaced all ink cartridges 'setup' 4 with brand new just a few days before the failure of the printer, so I asked the Lady to support (good person) if and how I can recover the defective device.
She told me to take off the cartridges of the faulty unit and retain them for the replacement printer, but was to serve once the "setup" cartridges sent with the unit will be out of ink.

    Now, I have some doubts:

    (1) when I take my full semi the defective printer cartridges, I fear that the ink will start to dry... should I cover the opening at the bottom of the cartridges with tape? Will it be enough?

    (2) the ink in the printhead of the defective unit will start to get dry as well. The defect of the device is clearly in electronics, while the print head has worked perfectly. Isn't bad to leave the print head is clogged by dry ink? I still have empty cartridges "setup" out (differentiation 'stock' of waste...) should I put them on the print head?

    (3) the defective printer does not turn so to loosen its cartridges, I need to manually pull the cart of the printhead to the center position. Is it Ok?

Thanks to all those who will clear this point to me.

    Hi @RickyGold,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I see that you have questions about your printer HP Officejet Pro 6830. I am happy to answer these questions for you!

    To answer your questions:

    1. To properly store the cartridges, I suggest you put them in an airtight container, such as a ziplock bag or Tupperware. Make sure that the contacts on the cartridges are not touch anything.
    2. I wouldn't worry about the obstruction with the defective printer printhead.
    3. I suggest to try to move the cartridge door manually, but don't force it, if it will not move freely. If you are unable to get the cartridges, please contact HPtelephone support for further assistance. As they would be able to replace the cartridges for you. (After you fill out the information, you will receive a phone number.) If you do not live in the United States / Canada region, please click the link below to get help from your region number. • HP officejet pro 6830: locking of the administrator

Computer a major accident.  Now can not set or access all the settings through the printer wireless or the

ALL in one software.  Need factory reset procedures, any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hi @drmjr,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I see that you are currently locked out of your HP Officejet Pro 6830. This occurred when the computer that is running the Windows 7 operating system has crashed.

You should be able to do this by restoring the default network settings in the front panel:

Menu Configuration > Wireless > restore default network settings > Yes

This aid? If this is not the case, continue below:

The lockout is really designed for printers to prevent others to make changes to printer that could affect the behavior of the printer.  For example, to keep the date and time the Fax value see him exactly receive time.

Get the IP address of the printer by pressing the network icon at the top of the screen.

Enter this IP address into the address bar of a web browser on a computer.  Printer status page should load.  If you receive warnings of certificate, choose the option that allows you to continue anyway.

Click settings and then go into settings of the administrator on the left.  Many of the features of the façade are ordered here. Make sure everything is checked except control lock. Once it is defined, click on apply.

Power off the printer for at least 1 minute and power then turn it on again to force the new setting to take effect.

Let me know the results. If this resolves the problem please let others know to mark this message as "accept as Solution".  To simply say thank you, click the "Thumbs up" below!   If you need more assistance let me know and I will gladly do everything I can to help.

  • HP Officejet Pro 6830: HP Officejet Pro 6830 @hpeprint address not printing

I just added my new HP Officejet Pro 6830 to my home network.  The printer is set up for my network with a Wi - Fi connection.  All updated software has been installed.  My operating system is Windows 10 (64-bit).

When directly connected to my network, printing and scanning to my laptop, android or iPad works very well.

However, when I'm away from my home network, I am remotely sends print jobs to my address [email protected] which is related to this printer with no result.  No error, no engravings, nothing.  I tried emailing my android phone, my iPad, even your laptop via Web site from my e-mail.  Nothing.

Because the printer works well when I'm inside my network, is there something I have to during installation?  Do I need to make changes in my configurations?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hey @CTFaninNJ,

I see that you encounter some problems with the help of ePrint to print from your mobile devices on your Officejet 6830 e-all-in-one printer. I can help you with that.

    Here's what we will do:

    1. Turn the printer off.
    2. While the printer is off, remove the power cord at the back of the router for a minute.
    3. When the lights come back on the router, turn on the printer.
    4. On the printer, click web services icon in the lower left corner of the display screen.
    5. Compare the address of the ePrint printer to the ePrint address as it appears on the app. If it is different, you must change the address ePrint in the application on the device.
    6. Try to send a document ePrint by sending an email.

Getting the message "There is a problem with the printhead".  Found the document tracking and troubleshooting got to step 3 where it says "the printer to Service."

Naturally, when I checked, I found that our guarantee missed three weeks ago.  The printer lasted more than a year...

No idea what it would cost for this repair?

Or given the pricing model for ink jet printers, are we better off he throw?

We had an Epson printer that has lasted several years; Maybe we should go back to them?

  • OfficeJet Pro 6830: MacBook Pro does not print wirelessly for Officejet Pro 6830

I used to have an old HP Officejet 7210 who was once able to print wirelessly from my MacBook pro, but at some point, wasn't able to do wireless and had to print with usb connection.

For Black Friday, we bought an Officejet Pro 6830 and on internet I downloaded the latest driver for my MacBook Pro and my windows laptop of wifes and our desktop PC. The mobile office and windows had no problem, but once more, I was not able to print wireless from the MacBook Pro. When I try to print wireless the printer dialogue indicates he's trying to deal with and then it says "the printer is currently in use". So I'll still have to plug the USB to print with this new printer is less than a month.

I was able to print the wireless test page and he noted that the test page bypassed print drivers. In addition, I am able to go into the printer utilities and see how much ink, I have and the various settings of the printer but I just cannot print documents from applications wireless.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Make sure that the printer is connected wireless and blue wire it light.

Try now to go to System Preferences > print & scan and click on the sign more. you see the printer listed?

May you had prior display the problem started with your previous printer? for example a new router, changes of settings, etc. ?

  • HP Officejet Pro 6830: Receive faxes with a HP officejet pro 6830 w / answering machine

I had an OLD officejet model that could receive faxes even if the answering machine was not connected directly to the fax machine the 6830 manual says that it must be directly connected.  My current Brother printer does NOT receive faxes because of this problem.  Anyone know if I directly connect my machine to this model (Officejet 6830) to make it work?  I won't buy it if it will not work.

    Hello @JPJ408,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that you are looking to buy a printer all-in-one HP Officejet Pro 6830 for fax purposes. While the User Guide advise you to plug the answering machine directly on the back of the Officejet unit, it is not necessary.

If you have a fax with an answering machine on her line, the only requirement is that the fax is set to two rings higher than the answering machine. Most of the responders are put back on 4 rings. As a result, you would set your Officejet to automatically pick up on 6 rings. In this way, when a voice is heard, you can manually respond to the call before the answering machine to pick up. If you are not home and then people can still leave messages on your answering machine. If you have a fax to come through, do not respond. The answering machine will pick up after 4 rings. At this point the fax machine "listen" on answering machine message and if fax tones are detected, the fax will take over and receive the fax.

I hope this helps clear up any confusion.
