Chaning the input to a counter Terminal?

Hello

I'm trying to use the DAQmxSetCICountEdgesTerm function to change two of the input terminals of the meter to something with a BNC connector on my connection block.  One I could just change it to PFI0 but for the second, I'm out of ideas.  Is it possible that I have use one of the analog input BNC terminals?  If so, what are the names of C++ for them?  I note also that on the block, there are two BNC connectors of "user-defined signals", how do you use?

I both connector BNC-2120 blocks and uses a X Series DAQ card.

Thanks in advance for any response

HT

By reading the BNC-2120 manual again, it specifies how to use user-defined signals.

Sorry for wasting all of the time.

  • Make sure that wire you all the inputs and outputs of your node library function call?

    This document says "make sure that wire you all the inputs and outputs of your node library function call.

    http://digital.NI.com/public.nsf/WebSearch/7253D2F0D91F68058625752F005AB672?OpenDocument&submitted&&...

    But all the terminals on the right side of the call library node considered "outputs" referred to in the foregoing statement?

    This same document continues to show the right way to allocate memory with this illustration and in the illustration, the right "outputs" are left without junctions.

    Am I right in assuming that the only terminals that count as outputs, those who use the code of the DLL (modify) as output?  If it is true, then all other terminals output associated with the values entered alone so don't really account as outputs, correct?

    In the parameter call-library configuration screen there is a "Constant" check box and the help that he wrote "indicates whether the parameter is a constant."  What is this box? for me in the setup of the DLL call

    Finally, assuming that a call from the DLL that is supposed to write in these five outputs, is it legitimate to use constants like this to book a space of memory for the output values?

    How about if local variables associated with the output terminals are used instead?

    Despite the linked document, it is necessary to connect the corresponding entry for simple scalar output parameters (for example a digital). LabVIEW automatically allocate memory for them. If you do not want the entries for all the output wire anyway, there should not be no difference between a constant and a local variable; I would use a constant to avoid useless local variables.

    For settings that are only entries, there is not need to connect the outlet side. It's a bit simplistic since all parameters are entered only and get one result (other than the return value), you pass a memory address and modify the content to this address, but LabVIEW manages this dereferencing pointer for you. If you want to really get into the details, learn more about pointers in C.

    The "Constant" check box acts as the qualifier "const" on a c function parameter. It tells the compiler that the function you are calling will not change this setting. If you call a function prototype includes a const parameter, then you must mark this as a constant parameter when you configure the call library function node. Otherwise, I wouldn't worry on this subject.

  • -Data 200141 was replaced before it can be read by the system. Mechanism of data transfer is interrupted, try to use DMA or USB in bulk. Otherwise, divide the input signal before taking the action.

    Hello

    Installation program:

    2 x PCI-6602

    Configuration:

    Sampling the five PWM signals of 50 kHz using five counters (2 on a map) and three on another for about 10-15 seconds by recording continuously.

    All meter tasks are configured for DMA transfer.

    Problem:

    I get 200141 errors from time to time.

    Question:

    I tried to increase the size of buffer and all tasks of meter are set to DMA. In the error message the last suggestion is to "divide the input signal before taking the action. I don't understand this suggestion. What is meant by "split the signal before taking the action?

    I am open to other solutions to the problem.

    /Mola

    Yes, I know that the 2 MB/s sound do not like much, but it's a way of high load very low tolerance to try to get 2 MB/s.  You have 5 DMA controllers to negotiate access to the bus and each transmits only 1 or 2 samples of 32-bit whenever he gets access.

    I've seen published baseline data where the maximum sustained rate was< 1="" million/sec="" (don't="" recall="" if="" it="" was="" mbytes="" or="" msamples). ="" as="" i="" recall,="" finite="" acquisition="" mode="" allowed="" higher="" rates="" for="" shorter="">

    Ah yes, here is a link that leads to the other links.  See the section on "The counter of the FIFO" in the first message.  Do you see a * very * significant difference in the performance of the M series for the series X-series.  Here are data for counters of the E series.  (It is fair to note that the comparative analysis was conducted with a much older PC hardware).  For the 6602 counter chip was designed between E- and M-series series, so you can probably expect performance in-between.

    Also note that the benchmarks seem to have been done with a task of window unique tent of owning all the bandwidth PCI as possible.  Since you would have 5 tasks they negotiate access, you lose definitely even more overhead.  In addition, for fair comparisons, your 50 kHz PWM would act as a measure of 100 kHz since you have 2 semiperiods to DAB per cycle of 50 kHz.

    Now that I've seen benchmarks once again, I am convinced that it is a no-go for you with just the 6602.  The good news is that the series X-series seem able to yet more ridiculously than I remembered.

  • Should I reset the FPGA FFT when changing the input signal?

    Hello

    I have an application based FlexRIO where I do FFT on several incoming signals. The signals will be ranked so that I get first for example 4096 samples of Ch1 and Ch2 4096 samples, etc. This means that I don't have to do it in parallel of the FFT and I would like to reuse the implementation of FFT and windowing to reduce the use of resources.

    I intend using the VI Express followed by the Express VI of FFT window scaling

    http://zone.NI.com/reference/en-XX/help/371599J-01/lvfpga/fpga_scaled_window/

    http://zone.NI.com/reference/en-XX/help/371599J-01/lvfpga/fpga_fft/

    and I'll use them inside a SCTL.

    This figure comes from the section using the FFT and help illustrate the issue:

    There is a discount to zero terminal for the fenestration and the FFT VI.

    Are there internal registers in the windowing and FFT which force the image 1, image 2,... from the same signal or is it possible for the first entry in a framework of Ch1, the next frame belonging to Ch2, Ch3 gaze and so on and always get reliable results?

    Another way to ask the same question: if I have to reset the window and FFT when changing the input signal?

    Thank you

    Anders

    Hi Cyphish,

    When using the FFT of the LabVIEW FPGA vi express and windows nationwide express vi calculations are make it point by point so there will be no problem when going through different types of measures. Therefore, you should have no problem with your application.

  • using the function - how to use the values of the input variables on the table select statement names

    Hello community, I have a problem when creating a function. The purpose of this function is to check the table of weather gave yesterday or not. We must check this on different tables on different sachems. We are creating a function with input variables.

    END;

    /

    When creating, I got error: [error] ORA-00942 (44:19): PL/SQL: ORA-00942: table or view does not exist

    How to use the values of the input variables on the table select statement names?

    Hello

    Here's a way you can use dynamic SQL statements for this task:

    CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION IS_YDAYDATA_TO_TABLE

    (

    in_schema IN VARCHAR2,

    in_tablename IN VARCHAR2,

    in_datefield IN VARCHAR2,

    in_first_date DATE DEFAULT SYSDATE - 1,.

    in_last_date DATE by DEFAULT NULL

    )

    RETURNS INTEGER

    AS

    -IS_YDAYDATA_TO_TABLE returns 1 if in_schema.in_tablename.in_datefield

    -contains all the dates in the in_first_date of the range through included in_last_date

    - and it returns 0 if there is no such lines.

    -If in_last_date is omitted, the search only the data on in_first_date.

    -If in_first_date is omitted, it defaults to yesterday.

    -Time parts of the in_first_date and in_last_date are ignored.

    -Declaring variables

    sql_txt VARCHAR2 (1000);

    v_is_true INTEGER.

    BEGIN

    sql_txt: = 'SELECT COUNT (*).

    || 'FROM ' | in_schema | '.' || in_tablename

    || 'WHERE ' | in_datefield | ' > =: d1'

    || «AND» | in_datefield | '< >

    || 'AND ROWNUM = 1';

    dbms_output.put_line (sql_txt |) '= sql_txt in IS_YDAYDATA_TO_TABLE");  -For debugging

    Sql_txt EXECUTE IMMEDIATE

    IN v_is_true

    With the HELP of TRUNC (in_first_date) - d1

    TRUNC (NVL (in_last_date

    in_first_date

    )

    ) + 1                -- d2

    ;

    RETURN v_is_true;

    END is_ydaydata_to_table;

    /

    DISPLAY ERRORS

    If you must use dynamic SQL statements, put all the SQL statement in a single string variable, such as sql_txt in the example above.  In this way, you can easily see exactly what will be executed.  Comment out the call to dbms_output under test is completed.

    Try to write functions that will address not only the question that you have now, but similar questions that you may have in the future.  For example, now that interest you only to the verification of the data of yesterday, but later, you might want to check another day or range of days.  The above function combines the convenience of a function simple (looks like yesterday data if you don't tell him otherwise) with the power of a more complex function (you can use the same function to check any day or range of days).

  • Filling of textfield based on the input of another textfield

    Hi guys,.

    I have a problem.

    I have a textfield and the input of information in which must be completed in antother textfield. It seems easy, but the trick is. For each new entry a new textfield should appear with this information. My problem is that it creates a textfield, but for every letter I type in and not to a string when I press ENTER.

    See attached example.

    I hope you can help me!

    Thank you

    Diana

    This is the code: (I can't reach the example for some reason any) Table_SF._Repeat_SF.addInstance (1); xfa.resolveNode "(Table_SF. ("Repeat_SF [" + (Table_SF._Repeat_SF.count - 1) + ' "] '). TextField1.rawValue = xfa.event.newText;

    Instead of placing the code in the event changes, copy it to the Exit event.

    Table_SF._Repeat_SF.addInstance (1);

    xfa.resolveNode "(Table_SF. ("Repeat_SF [" + (Table_SF._Repeat_SF.count - 1) + ' "] '). TextField1.rawValue = this.rawValue;

  • Auto micro adjusts the input level

    Hi all

    I tried this several times and never seem to be able to find an answer that works...  When I talk in my microphone on my macbook pro, it adjusts permanently the input levels, so in mid-sentence volume varies (always at peak).  It is extremely annoying, and there seems no obvious way to a certain volume of recording.  Any help here?

    Thank you!

    Hi Aprilstern,

    I understand that the input of your Mac's built-in microphone volume seems to be fluctuating when you save. In this case, if you use Mac OS X Yosemite or earlier, you may want to turn off noise reduction in system preferences > Sound > entry.

  • Firefox freeze every time that tired to change the input language

    Hello. Whenever I tried to change the input language to enter in other languages Firefox freeze (program does not).

    Sometimes I type alt + shift or when I click on the language bar to select other languages.

    It also happens with several languages (I've tested, maybe all), and I have tried various software/entry mode, including default windows, all freeze. Reset Firefox under help does not work either.

    This problem occurs with Firefox and Chrome but not IE... Maybe not Firefox problem as this case w Chrome, but and ideas please? Thank you.

    Edit:

    • Regedit could be changed, but do not hit internet setting.
    • I can enter foreign language as long as I set the default language and don't change another language in the language bar. Currently I use the foreign language as default capture software and switch to English of entry in this software.

    Have you attempted to assign a specific shortcut (for example, Shift + Ctrl + 1-9, 0) to select each language?

  • Individual access to the inputs and outputs on a single port (PXI-6509

    I use PXI-6509 and this sentence taken from the Manual:

    "You can use each of the DIO lines as the input to a digital static (DI) or digital output (DO) line"

    leads me to believe that each individual DIO can be defined as input or output (even within ports), but picture:

  • How NI PCI 4474 DSA detects an overload to the input channel?

    I read "Manual user OR dynamic signal acquisition." It is written that NI PCI 4474 support only digital overload detection.

    Here's my question. What is the detection of digital overload? If an analog signal is already converted to digital signal, it can not be signals exceeds the limit. Or the DSA may already be damaged during the CDA process, if there is surcharge from the input signal. Thank you.

    Hyun

    Yes, the chip has more information about the Board and apply factors of calibration, which is how it can overflow.

    What we call "detection of overload analog domain" requires more equipment (i.e. a comparator circuit) to observe the input signal.  Given that the Committee in question is not a comparator to check the input signal, and the way we want to give the user an idea of whether or not their signal is too large, we simply use the mathematics inside the chip. It's better than nothing.

    Oh, and I should mention that the protection is managed by a completely different circuit.  The specification should say how much voltage you can apply to the Commission before the protection comes into play.
