Cisco Aironet AP 2700 Series (Autonomuos Mode / stand-alone Configuration)

Hello

I'm trying to configure an access point and as a result of this video:

https://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=5RE55VBsyDE

If I do exactly what is mentioned in this video, I am able to configure the AP. On some client Machines AP is available while the other cannot find newly created SSID (even me, I chose broadcast).

1. why it is as some Machines cannot reach / find the new SSID (all machines are close to each other).

2. how to deal with frequencies or the beach or is - that something will be automatically corrected by AP?

3. How do internet connection with AP?

4. currently, I have an Asus wireless router, I need plugin cable of this wireless router and connect AP?

Can be :)

Like I said in the other post that some client can support only 2.4 Ghz!

  • Stand-alone configuration SX20

    Hello people,

I'm trying to confugure a SX20 as a stand-alone box, which means that this SX20 will be registered in a CUCM or VCS. I just set up an IP address and get on h323 as static and live mode. However the H323 seems to be inactive. When I try to call to a Polycom, we can make the call. In the diagnostic tool. The diagnostic tool shows the following warning:

    WARNING: Default call Protocol

The default call protocol is set to H323, but the system is not registered on this Protocol. The system isn't able to make all the calls. Please eitherchange the default call Protocol, verify that Protocol is enabled, or check the configuration H323..
    Could you please help me...
    Thank you!

    Hi Jorge,.

You can ignore this message because this will show if your devie is not registered on any guard for H323.

as you use to direct IP to IP call, you h323 is inactive and it will show the above error.

  • Mode conversion controller in stand-alone mode in cisco 1702

I have cisco AP 1702 and in controller mode. I don't have the controller so want to convert in stand-alone mode. I went through various items for this and found this interesting way to do.

    Run this command to convert:

    # swarm - Standalone mode
    # reload

I found this on this link: http://community.arubanetworks.com/t5/Controller-less-WLANs/How-to-conve...

Similarly, going through the longer process, I downloaded this for the standalone mode: https://software.cisco.com/download/release.html?mdfid=286281141&flowid=...

and for stand-alone mode, I have this one: https://software.cisco.com/download/release.html?mdfid=286281141&flowid=...

Here are the files I'm looking for?

    Help, please.

This original link can cause a headache for an Aruba AP which is different.

    Try this method:

    https://ripplesinharmony.WordPress.com/2013/01/28/downgrading-a-Cisco-lightweight-AP-to-autonomous-mode/

The software of the first link you posted (https://software.cisco.com/download/release.html?mdfid=286281141&flowid=71622&softwareid=284180979&release=15.3.3-JC1&relind=AVAILABLE&rellifecycle=ED&reltype=latest) will work for the standalone mode (stand-alone).

This second link is light which means the controller-based and you don't want that for this scenario.

    See you soon,.

  • Basic questions of configuration Cisco Aironet 1250

    Hello

I'll be three Aironet 1250 within a building.  It won't be a wireless controller, the AP will be autonomous.  I'll put them all the same thing, with WPA2 wireless encryption.  My question is, what is important and beneficial to add the configuration to the s AP so that they are aware of the other (for roaming maybe)?  If Yes, what is this technology called and someone could direct me to a section of a guide that could illustrate this?

Or I'm fine with just stand-alone configuration 3 AP as it is.

    All other pointers are welcome.

    Thank you!

    Hello

If you use the pre-shared as an authentication method, so there is nothing special to do. As long as they have the same SSID, are in the same subnet and are connected to the same network, roaming will be fine.

    No specific configuration is required.

  • stand alone compact rio

    Hi to everyone!

I am a student of the University and for my thesis, I use a COMPACT RIO with neither 9205 and gps module, some measures aboard an eletric car, measures will be saved to a TDMS file in the RIO COMPACT by a stand alone configuration and without connection to a pc.

The compact rio will begins with the car and it will go off with him also.
So I have a question, how can I stop the VI within the CRIO before turning off the car?  or in TDMS data will be saved in the same way without close the VI within the CRIO before turning off the car?

    Thank you

    Hello antoniolc!

There is no way of knowing inside CompactRIO, if the system will be shut down.

You must use an external signal to find out when your car will be stopped.

Or you can use a multiple TDMS file and like it, just the last TDMS file will be unreadable. But you can probably read all previous TDMS files.

    Best regards.

  • Updated standalone Cisco Aironet lightweight mode Access Points

I'm trying to convert a stand-alone Aironet 1200 in light Mode. I use the tool to upgrade v1.0 proposed by Cisco. But when I put the name of the recovery LWAPP Image (c1200-k9w7 - tar.123 - 7.JA2) in the tool window to update it doesn't work. It is said: c1200-k9w7 - tar.123 - 7.JA2 - LWAPP recovery Image file size is zero. But its size is 4.6 MB!

    Can someone help me?

Convert the Aironet 1200 of autonomous light mode follow the procedure set out in document http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/wireless/ps430/prod_technical_reference09186a00804fc3dc.html#wp23144.

  • Only the needs of the Cisco Aironet 1550 series a WLC?

    Hello

Nice day.  I would like to ask if the Cisco Aironet 1550 series requires a controller to run.  Note that the references SKU in this fomat AIR-CAP1552E-A-K9-AIR-CAP1552EU-A-K9.  I noticed that on the autonomous access point there they keyword 'SAP' on its SKU while the controller based has "CAP".  If the

Cisco Aironet 1550 Series needs a controller which controller should it be associated? (e.g. AIR-CT2500)

    Thank you

    It can work stand-alone image:

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/partner/docs/wireless/access_point/iOS/release/notes/15.2_2_JB.html#wp355908

    1550 relies on:

    2500, 7500, 5508, WISM2,... .etc

check the release notes of the code controller that you have and you should be able to identify what is supported and what is not supported.

  • How to move a stand-alone series C of Cisco UCS managed service profile without losing any data?

    Hello

We currently have a stand-alone series cisco C with 2012 Windows Server installed on the local disks.  We need to go this Cisco UCS server managed with a service profile, but can not lose existing data and the method of operating system boot.

Does anyone know how to do this?

    Thank you

    Hi Adrien,.

To be able to accomplish this together the local drive to 'any Configuration' policy this way UCSM won't overwrite the current raid on the server configuration.

We have 4 Cisco Aironet 1200 Access Points and they are all set to authenticate with our RADIUS server. However, authentication is hooked and can't understand why. Does anyone have any knowledge/experience with Cisco Aironet 1200 Access Points configuration?

OK, I do not work with the GUI so although the memory is a little hazy but from the APs home page look on the left hand side and there is an option for something like "Software Setup" or something to that effect. You should be able to find the IOS version of here. This requires that you are indeed runnig IOS code. How old are these APs? If more than a few years ago (and perhaps even more recent) that they could very well be running VxWorks and then we are in a different ball game. If you see what I have described above and the homepage for the AP is often white with a bit of greenish-blue, bluish-green color then IOS, if it is more colorful, yellow stuff and VxWOrks.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you need anything that anyone else. I will try to answer as soon as POSSIBLE.

  • Help with a Cisco Aironet 1242AG

Alright. So, I want to start by saying that I have what I consider to be the basis of knowledge of network management. I recently got a Cisco Aironet 1242AG WAP. I realize that this is not a stand-alone router. I would use it as an extension of my current router. From now on, the status light is alternating colors. If I understand correctly, it can not find the controller. I cannot telnet inside, or use web browser interface. Both say that the connection is not available. However, when I check my DHCP from my router table, I see that an IP address has been assigned to the MAC for the WAP. I tried to do a factory reset holding MODE until I plug the power supply and wait until it turns amber. After a few minutes and go through a few changes led, it goes back to the alternating colors on an ongoing basis.

I don't really know where to go from here. Help, please.

    Thank you

    Kris

Radios allow without a ssid that are attached to them. You will need to create your ssid and then fix to the interface radio. assignment of an address to the British Virgin Islands and setting a value default gateway on the device and you should be able to raise it.
