Cisco CMS vs CWMS

expert,

is Cisco CMS a replacement for CWMS?

TKS,

K

Hello Karen,

It is not the case. It is a completely different product with a different set of architecture and functionality.

  • SX-80 problem a MAC device as a resource sharing.

    Salvation;

We both 80 SX and SX 20 VTC units and would like to share resources during a call using a MAC mini that is recognized by the CODEC as source HDCP. Therefore, it is not through the CODEC of the signal.

Is there a work around for it on the side of CODEC?

    Please advise and thanks,

    Caliph

The SX80 supports HDCP, so you need to change your Mac mini (or use another device).

There is a brief discussion on HDCP is not supported on endpoints and why here: https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/12293846/sx80-hdcp-compliant

If you have any questions on the endpoints SX80, I suggest that you post your question in the section of the forums where these devices are much more actively discussed in the conferences of the forums section which is more related to CIsco MeetingPlace and CWMS telepresence .

Q1.  We can block a current mtg (possible venue) where
We cannot arrest anyone joining after the session started
If a participant who was invited to the meeting trying to reach the end?

Q2.  Slide the CWMS running 6 virtual machines inside.  For 50 simultaneous

functions of the media?  Also, in the superior user-concurrent systems numbering, make virtual machines
Break-in of the separate machines for ESXi?

Q3.  If you add users to the CWMS, only two modes are available:
the hosts or administrators. Please correct me if I'm wrong - hosts are those who can
program / participate / host the meetings. How to differentiate and control a crowd
only attend but not host meetings?  If all users are added in an organization
as hosts in the CWMS, control the use of the licenses will be difficult, no?

  • Cisco Jabber with Cisco multi-party Shared more Licenses

    Hello

I'm looking for a Solution to video conference for approximately 4000 employees. Currently the customer uses Cisco's Jabber for video calls from point to point. The main requirement is Ad - Hoc videoconferencing by any employee at any time. I looked at both meeting of Cisco and Cisco TelePresence Server server. The two solution requires more or licenses more pluralistic multi-party Personal shared. The customer won't buy a PMP license for each user. Their requirement is multimedia resources shared so that any employee can initiate an ad hoc conference.

Now the question is: can we use Cisco Jabber with multiparty licensing shared?

    Thank you

    Mockus S

    Yes, it is quite possible.

The only singularity is with PMP + which applied slightly differently than the head of the Orchestra/vTS. This does not seem to match your use case since you intend to buy only SMP licenses +. From version 2.0 (1) CMS, PMP + licenses - which are less expensive than SMP + - use only if: a) the space belongs to a LDAP user with a PMP + license for which they are responsible; or (b) If a user LDAP with PMP + assigned to them joins the Cisco meeting App space as an authenticated user. In all other scenarios, including ad-hoc escalation with CUCM licensed SMP + is consumed. This is different from that of head of the Orchestra/vTS, which were also able to understand the right to the user for ad-hoc calls.

  • Is mandantory CUCM CWMS

I have a client who wants to use CWMS purely to the desktop sharing and control.  No audio conference is required. The customer does not CUCM for the telephone system, and they do not want CWMS to call and dial a number for audio.

    CUCM is mandatory for CWMS?

Cisco will support a standalone CWMS without CUCM integration?

    Hello

If you don't want to use the functionality of teleconference of the product and do not plan to import users of CUCM/LDAP and authenticate you using CUCM/AXL, I don't see why you would need CUCM.

You will not just set up the Audio section of the solution to use WebEx Audio, and instead the system only support option "voice connection with the help of computer. You will not be able to disable both types of audio conference feature. You must have at least a permit, and in your case, it would probably be the "Voice connection with the help of computer" option.

    I hope this helps.

It's Live for a year, recently they tried to reach officer reason codes is not ready but MHI receives only zeroes instead of the reason code. • Architecture of CMS with SFB online (Office 365)

Session BRKCOL-2611 to 2016 to Cisco Live in Las Vegas, the attached architecture has been listed as possible with CMS and Office 365. I don't see that the current Configuration Guides explain this configuration. I see SFB mentioned in terms of presentation of the Solution, but it is not clear, moreover, what configuration must take place in the O3655 or CMS.

Can someone shed light on additional documentation which clarifies this configuration?

I just reviewed Cisco's Live recording for this presentation and they said, it is possible to configure CMS with Office 365 cloud, but it is not a feature that is entirely taken in charge yet, so why there is no document at this time.  If I remember correctly, one would need to work with Microsoft on the creation of the connection between CMS and Office 365, and they are hesitant to do that.

  • Cisco ISE (Identity Services Engine) - seeds SGA device?

    Hello

We have a LAB with Cisco ISE, certificates and list DACL. Everything works fine with the 1.1.1 version but now we want to use the functionality of CMS - SGT instead of the ACL and we found that we need seed for this device and the only device that takes in charge the Nexus 7000 is. Is this true? What is the only way that we can use LMS - SGT? Are there plans that any other device will be used to seed device?

    BR, Marko

The device of seed set as first device that communicates with the ISE. It must be a link.

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/solutions/enterprise/security/TrustSec_2.0/trustsec_2.0_dig.PDF

In addition the Nexus needs a license of Advanced Services installed in order to support the Trustsec.

I can't comment on any future plans.

  • Forums CWMS drop after you have entered the code meeting

    Hi all

We have webex 2.6.1.45.B - AE, call out of work, but a drop after you have entered the code-meeting... Work of DTMF.

may be, because: you are using a trial version of the Cisco WebEx meeting server which expires in 32 days. Buy licenses to host for your system to avoid the limitation of access host?

    or someone has an idea?

    Thank you very much!

    Hello

This problem is caused by a bad configuration of the integration of CUCM with CWMS.

Make sure you check you SIP Trunks and SIP configuration on CUCM routing model.

Make sure that your points in routing SIP Trunk SIP of Point Application model.

Make sure that the Partition configured in routing SIP model belongs to a CSS that is configured in the LoadBalancing SIP trunk under:

    1. change of itinerary calling search space

2 outside dialogue see calling search space

Also, refer to this post to understand why the model of routing SIP and Application Point SIP trunks are used: https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/12879351/cucm-and-cwms-call-routing

In addition, this guide to the official reference documentation: http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/collaboration/CWMS/2_6/Planning_Guide/Planning_Guide/Planning_Guide_chapter_0101.html

    I hope this will help.

  • CWMS and WeTP simultaneously

    Hello

We have a customer that deploys a solution of telepresence on premises which include (Unified 10.5 CM, MSD 14.6, vTS 4.1 3.0 XC, X8.5 EXP-C/E and CWMS 2.5). A new requirement came they want to allow endpoints SX80 & MX700 to lead a meeting of the Conference with Webex servers. AFAIK WebEx on cloud need to be enabled.

I have a few questions that I would like to ask some questions:

1 - since I was using a certain domain name (e.g. xyz.com) local CMWS, then I activate Webex on cloud using the same domain name, so I had two premises on and the cloud. If this is not the case, how the solution would be in this case?

    2. that I would be able to integrate TMS, vTS, conductor and EXP-C/E with WebEx on Cloud (WeTP)

3 - What is the advantages that may be available in WebEx on cloud existed only not in CWMS in case customer has decided to use only WebEx on cloud?

    4. What are the features that would be lost if changing the current local solution for including all the WebEx and telepresence solution on the clouds?

    Thanks in advance.

    Regrads,

    AMR Sheriff

    Hi Amr,

I'll try to answer your question:

1 - since I was using a certain domain name (e.g. xyz.com) local CMWS, then I activate Webex on cloud using the same domain name, so I had two premises on and the cloud. If this is not the case, how the solution would be in this case?

The Webex on the Cloud, the URL for web conferencing is usually . webex.com, while CWMS usually has a URL such as Webex.CompanyDomain.com. There is therefore no possibility to have conflict. You can have conflicts with Webex on cloud's ARM running in a public domain which is in the public domain even recorded with the webex account. This is because Jabber also questioned Webex trying to save with auto-discovery, as Webex Menssenger service is available for Jabber.

    2. that I would be able to integrate TMS, vTS, conductor and EXP-C/E with WebEx on Cloud (WeTP)

Yes. As CWMS has no integration with the environment of telepresence.

3 - What is the advantages that may be available in WebEx on cloud existed only not in CWMS in case customer has decided to use only WebEx on cloud?

In my opinion, the main difference is the ability to integrate your existing Webex telepresence system. WebEx on Cloud usually provides most of the important features available on CWMS.

    4. What are the features that would be lost if changing the current local solution for including all the WebEx and telepresence solution on the clouds?

For this particular question, I suggest you to contact your representative local Cisco, since it is rather a technical commercial subject. My personal opinion is that Webex on cloud has everything users need for web meetings.

  • integrated macOS Sierra Cisco IPsec VPN does not work anymore (impossible to validate the server certificate)

    Hello

I just upgraded to macOS Sierra and built-in Cisco IPsec VPN no longer works. When you try to connect, I get a "cannot validate the certificate of the server. "Check your settings and try to reconnect" error message. I use Cisco ASA with self-signed certificates and everything worked fine with previous versions of OS X.

Please help me, I need my VPN Thx a lot

I am having the same problem with StrongSwan and help cert signed with the channel to complete certificates included in the pkcs12 file imported to the keychain. It was working properly in El Capitan, but now broken in the Sierra.

  • Cisco VPN does not work in the Sierra

I just upgraded to OS Sierra and the Cisco VPN, I had the installer does connect more.  The Setup looks right into network preferences. When I click it looks like it is trying but stops without asking for a password.

Cisco VPN client may need to update or re-installed. If she uses the PPTP Protocol, it will not work. Support for PPTP was ignored, because it is no longer considered as secure.

  • If I can do an Airport Extreme mobile network with a modem/router cable xfinity manufactured by Cisco?

Can I create an Airport Extreme (current generation) network of roaming with a cable modem/router xfinity manufactured by Cisco (DPC3939 to be exact)?  The modem-router Cisco/Xfinity put into bridge mode?

Can I create an Airport Extreme (current generation) network of roaming with a cable modem/router xfinity manufactured by Cisco (DPC3939 to be exact)?

Yes, if the Airport Extreme will be connected to the Cisco DPC3939 back using wired Ethernet wired, permanent.

The modem-router Cisco/Xfinity put into bridge mode?

No. I you have done this, the Cisco/Xfinity device would only act as a simple modem... so it would not be a wireless service to all.

A note of caution here... the support document you are referencing... Wi - Fi base stations: install and configure a roaming network (802.11 a/b/g/n)... use the examples that are long outdated does not follow with the versions present on a Mac AirPort Utility or iPhone/iPad.

There are some good general information in the document.
