Cisco SRP527w Firmware/urgent fix

Hello

Having used various equipment cisco for years, I thought it would be a good idea to use an ADSL router for a job I'm doing for a client so I bought a SRP527w. I now regret buying it because it crashes regularly and needs a restart of the client which is annoying to say the least. The wireless sometimes stop routing requests to the DHCP server and what they lose connectivity. Also after a period of time the web interface stops responding if the traffic is still passing through the unit.

Can someone link me please for the latest firmware and how to install it.

Current firmware is:

1.01.09 (001) April 7, 2010

Thank you

Hello Matt Clifford - the new firmware for the SPR527W is currently at 1.01.19. You can download this firmware on our Cisco.com site.

I enclose the following link which should bring you to the download page for the new firmware.

http://www.Cisco.com/Cisco/software/release.html?mdfid=282910822&flowid=797&softwareid=282919993&release=1.01.19&relind=available&rellifecycle=&RelType=latest

When you download the new firmware save it on your desktop or somewhere where you want. Is the default IP for the SRP527W

192.168.15.1. I would sign in the router using admin as the user name and password is Admin (there are 2 different users that you can use to connect to)

This router - you can use cisco as id user and password or admin as password and user id. With the help of admin, you get more options when configuring the router) when you are in the interface of the router go to the Administration tab and you will see the option to upgrade the Firmware.  Navigate to the location where you placed the new firmware and then choose the file and begin the upgrade. After the router performs the upgrade, it is advisable to perform a factory reset on the router. Just hold in the reset button on the router

for at least 30 seconds. After that, you should be ready to configure your settings and hopefuuly, you should be good to go.

Thank you

    Hello

Can someone help me? I just bought a new Cisco SRP527w and I'm all new to this type of material. I can't find the tab for user management that I'm changing the default password.

Also, I can't access the internet. My rj45 of the ADSL modem is connected to the WAN/LAN port with parameters IP static. What missed here? your help is very appreciated.

Hi Ronald, if you are clicking on all other tabs and it still seems only the setup of the wizard, you must change your internet browser. Try Firefox or IE. This should solve that.

  • Cisco SRP527W-U feature question

Hi, I have a configuration issue with respect to the Cisco SRP527W-U.

We want to set it up as follows, 1) we have a termination ethernet for the WAN 2) we have 2 VLAN different, ranging from 2 different switches.

Can we have the default gateway for LAN 2 subnets and a default route via a 30 for our WAN. Can I use the 4 switchports for this?

    switchport VLAN 2 (Switch 1 LAN) 1

    switchport VLAN 3 (Switch 2 LAN) 2

switchport 3 VLAN 4 (link to the data center with 30 switch)

    Kind regards

    Scott

    Hi Scott Brien

This model works as a layer 3 router, you can route the vlan and routing static, and another making works like

    Static routing

Routing Information Protocol (RIP) versions 1 and 2

    (GRE) Generic routing encapsulation

Point to point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP) - taken in charge on the primary WAN interface

Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol (L2TP) - taken in charge on the first WAN interface

    Based on the routing strategy

So, you can have the default gateway for your 2 LAN subnets and a default route via a 30 for your WAN

  • Or is the firmware of the cisco SRP527W please?

    Hello

Now everything is in the title, indeed after a google search I find this page here: https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-13853, I think that it is the privilege downloads Firmware SRP520 but it's 404 error. I'm afraid of being mistaken as the series is not accurate.

Do I know or is the page of list of firmwares.

    Thanks in advance.

Yes, those that should be good for the download.

If you want browsing the Cisco's Web site, you can follow this instruction:

    • Click downloads, and then type SRP520, and then you can choose SRP520 or SRP520-U

    • At present, the page is interrupted by error 404

  • Adjust margin SNR on Cisco SRP527W-U?

I have a new srp527w-u Cisco router which works fine even if it is the synchronization at a lower rate than my billion (6 Mbps vs 8.5 mbps for billions on the same line).

I had twisted the way billions back to connect with a 4db SNR margin, and almost certainly, that's why it has the highest rate (by comparison, the cisco is synchronized with a 12 dB snr margin). Is it possible that I can configure it to use a SNR margin? I know that this could reduce the stability of the connection but I would at least be able to give it a try if possible.

    Thanks for any help!

    Hi Louis,.

This level of configuration is not possible with the SRP500.

I've just updated Illustrator CC today in the hope that the bugs I had would be fixed. Now I can't open Illustrator at all. I get the error message that says that I have not installed to Verdana. I use Suitcase Fusion 5 (v16.0.4) and I checked and I have two versions of Verdana (a Microsoft that I can disable the other is locked), which are OpenType fonts.

I can return the Version 1.0.4.10

    Thank you

    Dear John,

Thank you to reach small business support community.

    Just to make sure that you configure the Web access and management properly, I suggest you check on page 119, Chapter 7, of the Administrator's guide;

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/routers/CSBR/RV120W/Administration/Guide/rv120w_admin.PDF

If you still wish to revert to the version of the firmware 1.0.4.10, the release notes does not say he will make the default configuration, but I advise you to do this by default after the downgrade and manually reconfigure the device. New versions of firmware contain fix big and improvements. Once you pass, you lose just patches. You can see the news release for more information:

  • Store TV + firmware and Samba

Since there doesn't seem to be much interest at Toshiba to straighten their firmware that I looked for other options. In another post, I found that the Stor.e TV + and Noontec V8S are basically the same. I've studied this and this seemed to be the case.

OK, so I took the risk and updated the firmware of my Stor.e TV + Noontec V8S latest firmware website noontec V3.0816.13_V8S.

The update went well without a hitch (took about 2 minutes of an old drive flash 256 MB connected to the back of the USB port on the unit, because I formatted before using it) and some of the irritating downsides of the Toshiba firmware has been resolved. Samba has worked in some way, but I was still not able to download songs directly on the Stor.e more wireless, which is the only other feature I need currently. The irritating remote control buttons were replaced by how any sane person could use them (I had changed my universal remote control to correct this, will have to change the settings if I kept the updated firmware) the new firmware seems solid, but I do not USE THE CAPABLITIES VIDEO, so I can't comment on that.

A major drawback of this update for me, it's the small screen of the device to become much less readable. Looks like there is a problem with the police on the new firmware. I use my Stor.e only as a music player flac, and since I don't have it connected to a TV the small screen is essential for me to select tracks or discs. I have 300 + discs, the Stor.e is an excellent cheap media player, which connect me to my STEREO through a DAC system.

I therefore had to change to the firmware of Toshiba to correct this display problem and stopped trying to get sorted Samba. Looks like I'd still use USB to download music to the Stor.e when I buy the new CD. What a pity.

Either by the way, the new firmware of Toshiba is very similar to the old firmware, in what is lacking the possibility to start the Samba. In the readme file, Toshiba says that the new firmware corrects a problem with the network, but I think it's probably the smallest issue that most users have with the firmware of Toshiba.

    UPDATE:
After some research, I learned that the MVix Ultio is just like the Noontec player, and some users flashed their Noontecs for the MVix firmware successfully. It was much less obvious if the Mvix and Toshiba are the same, the MVix photos different from the Stor.e, but I decided to give it a try anyway.

So I have the TV Stor.e + updated the latest MVix Ultio (downloaded from the site Web Mvix) 3.12 firmware. Note that it is the standard Ultio, NOT the pro. Also note that with this version you don't have to (and in fact will not be able to) install the drivers of Samba and separate bitTorrent, as stated in the manual. These seem to be only for the Ultio pro and are already included in the standard firmware Ultio.

This solved all my problems with Samba, and the display with the Noontec firmware problem does not exist with the Mvix firmware. A whim, I noticed with this version of firmware is when I try to open the visit from the Samba browser neighbor he sees not all hard disks. Seems to be a disk formatting question (I formatted the disc via the menu Store) I can see readers on my other Stor.e TV +. I know that Samba still works however, as I can access my Stor.E in exploring through a wireless router (it appears as Venus under Network on Windows 8).

As I said previously, I use my Stor.e to play .flac files only, so cannot comment if the Mvix firmware has problems with playing other files or formats. I do not think that there will be major problems, even if, as it seems Mvix regularly update their firmware to fix any problems (NOT like Toshiba!)

If my suggestion to those who want to get the firmware updated for their Toshiba Store TV + is to go for the MVix 3.12 firmware. He can still back up the firmware update from Toshiba (downloadable from their site) if there are problems.

You do this at your own risk, however, if brick you your unit don't blame me...

  • HP Laserjet 400 M401dn: M401dn Firmware - print issues

    Hello.

We have 4 HP Laserjet M401dn printers 400 in school.  These have been delivered and installed in time last September.

A problem highlighted recently when one of the teachers tried to print a simple Word document with a title in large font.  Whenever they printed the document, pages with the large font size came out white.

We tried new documents and other things, but whenever we have changed the size of the police to more than 70pt, the page would come out blank.

We then tested the same documents on other printers and it printed perfectly on 2 of the 3.

The 3rd company of the party in charge of our network took a look at the problem and it's associated Firmware.

PE / printer of geography are the two stamped Date of 20140521 Firmware.  Two of these printers cannot print fonts of size greater than 70pt.

Staff room printer was Date stamped 20120907 Firmware and prints ok.

ICT after the Date stamped printer Firmware of 20131214 and prints ok.

Can you HP and other users of this particular model, please test?  If the results are the same, HP can please release a updated Firmware to fix the problem?

If this isn't the case, please tell me where can I find previous versions of the firmware and the utility to restore the affected printers 2?

    Thank you very much.

    Hello.

  • LV 2011 development environment and prompt to install the fix for LV 2012 RT Module f1?

I have a LV 2011 development environment configuration, including RT I get a message that there is an urgent fix for RT 2012 LV available; See attachment.  This machine of development must remain the LV 2011; This patch must be installed?  Thank you.

    Matt

As stated in the notification message, you see this update because you probably have another component which released LabVIEW RT 2012 - NOR-RIO 12.0, WSN 1.4 or Fieldpoint 6.0.11.  It was to fix a specific problem in 2012 of LabVIEW, which hit the RT, so if you haven't installed LabVIEW 2012 then the patch will be neither harmful nor helpful to you; However, files of Framework Setup OR RIO, WSN and Fieldpoint for RT should be updated to be compatible with changes in LabVIEW (and so you probably installed component that has an update is available, even if 2012 LabVIEW itself is not installed).

Hello Derek Cunningham, I am an engineer of the HP technical support. I am taking the floor for me and not for HP, but I believe that I can help you.

Well, it took some searching.  The latest version of firmware that I could find was little out August 2, 2003 (version 1.040.2) part No. C4168-67907 listed as "HILL of DIMM KIT - ROCK".   That said, as of March 31, 2009, the product is no longer a support and spare parts may no longer be available.  I gathered this information by your request directly - however, don't believe not that the firmware update will solve the problem of 'page spew' reported.  I went through the list of firmware for different DIMM firmware versions fix and see nothing corresponding to your symptomatic behavior.

If your workflow printing is to point and print (customers who print via a print server) Please ensure that the server and clients pilots match.  You can always remove the printer connection client and restore to ensure that binary correspondents sells.  Driver version is important, because the old specific drivers are not supported or even stable with current operating systems.  I suggest you switch for the driver of Microsoft OS Inbox for testing.

Suggestions were made to try to PCL 5 or PS, I think that the essential thing here is to make sure you are using the latest driver for your product and the OS.

  • WRT1900ac Intemitant restart Fix

    Hi all

Oh thank God it's not just me who has a problem with this router after having performed a factory reset. And I don't mean that in a bad way I can assure you. It happened to me and I do this for a living, and and reading through this forum is like being in labor. I deal with problems like these on a weekly basis. And today I found myself in the same situation that everyone is and I think I have a pretty good idea of what is causing the problem.

Looking through some complaints on various websites and forums that I started to compile and generate an image of what could potentially cause this problem. I can you LINKSYS know aware of this problem, there is no doubt in my mind, they know this problem? The problem with the resolution of a problem, it can solve the original problem or cause another unrelated problem and then you are passed from one problem to another. So I would say, they are working on a new firmware to fix the problem with the current firmware.

As I said that I have compiled a list of complaints and especially disconnections are after a factory reset has been performed. My years of experience in dealing with such problems, the only logical explanation would be an EPROM corruption after a factory reset has been performed. The cause of the problem is with the Factory Reset , so try to not reset your router unless you really need to.

However, I have a work around, but I must stress only do this if your router is disconnecting or power cycling (reboot itself intermittently). I need to run tests myself, but as it seems right now, it is stable and it is not restarted once since I did my work around. So I hope that this could be a temporary solution but, I need to monitor the connection to see if the router is restarted or not. It would be useful that LINKSYS newspapers held useful information such as disconnections and power cycles (reboot) but unfortunately it doesn't. Just a little tip for LINKSYS.

ATTENTION check updates before downloading the file...

Before you start to download the latest version of the firmware on your router WRT1900ac here are the following link. It is version 1.1.8.161917 http://downloads.linksys.com/downloads/firmware/1224701051259/FW_WRT1900AC_1.1.8.161917_prod.img

    IMPORTANT read everything carefully...

Make sure that you have downloaded the latest firmware before you continue. I can not stress the importance of this. Make sure that you have downloaded the right firmware. Automatically search for updates via the following Web site. http://support.Linksys.com/en-EU/support/routers/WRT1900AC

PERFORM a FACTORY RESET ONLY as a LAST RESORT... In the unlikely event that you have no option to reset the router back to factory settings as if you are setting up the router for the first time again through the process step by step , then make sure that it is not a checkmark in the box to update the router. The default firmware is version is 1.1.7.159143.

    1. Click the Troubleshooting menu, and then click the [restore previous firmware] go through the process, and when he finished the router restarts again and the firmware that it came back will be the default value of the 1.1.7.159143firmware.
    2. Once you have reset the router or back to the previous firmware and you are now reconnected to the Internet, 192.168.x.x you router access, connection with your Smart Wi - Fi connection information that you would have to configure when you installed first the router for the first time, or enter the router password.
    3. Go directly to the menu connectivity in your internal routers interface and make sure that you clear the Automaticcheck box.
    4. Manually update the firmware (check the updates first), click choose a file and make it to the destination where you downloaded the firmware on your PC. Click Start, and then wait for the router to update.

Once the update of the firmware over, if all goes well there will be no interruptions or power recycling the router again. I would recommend following the router for at least an hour to make sure that the router is not restart or lose the connection.

    WARNING

DO NOT turn off your router while updating the firmware. This can damage the router and it will not work again. You would probably send it back to LINKSYS so that they can Flash EPROM and then send it to you.

I did mine hours ago and within that period, the router has not restarted once, which certainly an improvement and it would indicate that it worked. However, in the unlikely event that it does not start over from 1 to 4 and try again. It does not work. Mine worked for hours and right now, it doesn't have a time restarted and/or loss of the connection. If you have any problems, feel free to PM me.

    Time for bed...

What you really mean is, you're happy to see someone who doesn't want or need to use all the features, he has paid in his $250 router. Thus, as a result of not to use all the features of the router, there no reset or other issues.
