Cisco UCM by highway (Edge) supply - edge ver 7.1

Dear Expert!

Normal B2B URI works with the VCS...   You want to go ahead with registration EX90 to CUCM thru expresswayE...

We can config Cisco UCM via Expressway (Edge) commissioning with VCS expressway-E ver 7.1 and EX90 with software version TC7.3.5.

IAM do not have a way to export PEM to VCS 7.1 to EX90 highway...

no position taken.

You must be running minimum external X8.1 to take advantage of registration of endpoints VCS to CUCM via Mobile and remote access (MRA), see the VCS Release Notes for more information as well as Mobile and Remoting via Cisco VCS Deployment Guide (X8.1.1).

  • Cisco with BE6K Highway

    Hello

If we offer Cisco on Cisco BE6k Expressway, the number of applications that we have with density average? AS I check dockwiki, 4 apps + mandatory 1

    initiate collaboration.

So my understanding is a bundle of medium density BE6K, we can have 4 apps (CUCM, CUC, highway C + E Highway) and 1 mandatory first supply collab. My understanding on the sizing is correct? Is there something else to Mgmt or ELM is also required?

    Ajay

    Hi Ajay,

It is not mandatory to install install first Collaboration - but it's the only option for the "+ 1".  If you do deploy a PCP, all server resources can be dedicated to your collaboration applications.

In this case, you will have 2 CPU each of UCM, highway C and E Expressway, 1 for the CUC and 1 reserved for ESXi - so it is valid to a server of average density (8 CPU).  The memory footprint will fit also.

ELM is co resident with the AAU, so no need to another don't install.

You will just need to decide how to manage your network connectivity / separation for Highway C / e. this document might be of interest for this.

    Hope this helps,

  • Security Internet - transport server Edge Expressway

I was instructed to do research on a Cisco Expressway of hardening Edge transport server.  I have not yet seen the server, but I understand that it has been deployed with the deployment method double nic.  I wanted to see which are typical of the best practices hardening.  For example, I know that I need to limit administrative access to the local network only.  Someone else has configurations they make throughout their deployments?

    Hi John,.

At the edge of the highway/Expressway VCS can be deployed as a basis for the (legacy) device or application of VM on the server of the Cisco UCS. The edge of the highway/Expressway VCS must be deployed with the core of control/Highway VCS to provide secure firewall courses.

Advanced Networking (double nic) license is required for the curing of the security of the box.

You can start on this document on how the box is deployed to best practices.

  • Paging or intercom Cisco CUCM 8.6

Hi, I m new work with Cisco UCM and I would like to know how I can configure paging or intercom.

I want to make calls to the President of all phones in my company, so if I press x number I will speak by the President of all of the company's phones.

Can I do this with CUCM 8.6?

    Thanks in advance.

There is a difference between paging and intercom, intercom is 1:1, pagination is 1:many.

Only the first is an out-of-box functionality

  • Cisco TelePresence SX20 + VCS 8.2 Server and Skype for business 2015

Nice day! My name is Dimitri! Have Cisco TelePresence SX20 + VCS 8.2 Server and Skype for business 2015. Is it possible to set up a conference call SFB and appeal to all subscribers of this conference? At present, we can only call on a single client and SFB. We have the current version of the software TCNC5.1.4.295090 SX20 - is it possible he obnoviti 7, and it will help to improve the situation? Thank you!

I'm no expert on this technology, but I have some idea and already deployed some projects dealing with the integration of Cisco (CUCM, VCS) video infrastructure to Microsoft video infra like Lync. It would be the same process to make it work in your case.

How does your deployed SFB? How do you do a conference for audio and video, participants can join the conference by dialing?

    • Mediation server would be required as a front-end server for you to integrate IP/PBXS using SIP trunk to enable voice (audio) Conference with the participants to the PSTN.
    • AVMCU Should be (Audio video Multipoint Conferencing Unit) will host the video conference that will include video endpoints as participants.
    • Video of Interop (SCREW) Server would be required to interface your SFB to third video conference infrastructure such as Cisco UCM or VCS for the endpoints Cisco call client SFB of endpoint of Cisco to participate to the conference organised on SFB by dialing the conference number.

I'd say contact your AM SFB or Support as well for queries about how to plan your infrastructure SFB and direction.

  • Cisco IP Communicator with Bluetooth headset has fast battery drain

Hi all, hoping to exploit the collective knowledge here to find an answer to a question that we live with bluetooth headsets with quickly draining the battery.

Environment: We run Cisco UCM 10.5 and have some users with Cisco IP Communicator 8.6.4.  Computers are a mixture of office/computer laptop with Windows 7 32/64 - bit.  Most are bluetooth headsets, Plantronics Voyager legend UC with some older models of Plantronics.  These use a bluetooth dongle separated with flag State.  This helmet is announced as having 7 hours of talk time and 10 days standby.  Plantronics software is set to Audio enabled detection and headphones to maintain for PC connection as it is disabled.

Behaviour: Normally, when the bluetooth headset is not in use, the light blue and the helmet is considered as standby.  When a call, the indicator light is a slow blink showing the helmet is in active use.

Question: When not in a call, or when the CPIC is even launched, the indicator light is a blue blicking and users can hear 'air' in the helmet, even when not off the hook.  This led the helmet to be in Active mode and thus draining the battery at a higher rate.  Even if option software Plantronics headphones maintain link PC is off, it acts as if it was.  The only way that we were able to work around this problem is in the Plantronics software to disable Audio detection enabled.  This leads to the user needing to press the answer on the headset button and the answer button on the software phone which isn't ideal if users are up and on.

So having said all this, is there a resolution to allow the headset to use with CPIC without the helmet being still active?

It comes to video over IP, please move to the appropriate area.

  • Call recording on the virtual machine running on Cisco UCS

We evaluate the requirements for implementing call recording in our environment. Ideally the call recording server to run as a virtual machine on an ESXi host running like a blade on a Cisco UCS. I know that I need to set up RSPAN between my physical switches and turn the "Promiscuous" mode on my vSwitch which would be connected to the virtual machine. Where I'm stuck, how the NETWORK adapter that is connected to my vSwitch would be able to sniff this traffic? Are there requirements when I implemented the vNIC on the UCS or VMWare or under the physical being connected to the span port card desired traffic will get to my VM as a controlled traffic?

    Thank you.

No we are not running Cisco UCM. We have a 3rd party VOIP solution. I think I got the answer I need... we need to order a series C for our UCS Server manage the recording of calls.

    Thank you.

  • Question of P2P VPN One Way

    Hello support,

I'm having a problem with a P2P VPN. Our side is a Cisco ASA 5512 and peripheral supplier is a firewall of some sort. When launch us the VPN from Cisco ASA end 5512, the VPN is fine without problem and communication goes on both sides. If I take the VPN down and then he tries to launch the VPN, I never see same traffic come into our firewall, and it does not come to the top. When we do a trace of their inside network inside our network (when you start their end), the trace goes to some edge devices at their end and outside the ISP. There are actually a few public IPs in the traceroute, but when launch us the VPN to our end and before you run a trace on their end, these same public IPs do not show in the trace.

It almost seems like they have a device on their end which does not correctly handle the NAT or SHEEP for private subnets. Does this sound accurate?

Just to remind, when launch us the VPN, look clean and only private IPs see traces on both ends. When they start the VPN, traffic never hit our firewalls and traces of their late show public IPs on the route.

From now on, we keep a ping running to keep alive the VPN, but it's not ideal. Here, any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hey John,

are you sure that when they start their home subnet traffic, it is hitting the vpn.

Please ask them to run debug crypto since their end and if the first protocol udp 500 is even sent to their end.

Now, in order to follow the tunnel, you can configure SLA monitoring on the ASA:

Please follow the discussion below to set up the same:

  • 2821 ACL for the range of IP addresses

We use an old Cisco 2821 on the edge of the internet for the initial incoming traffic filtering.  To try to block some networks of suppliers that are a source of SPAM, we have tried to apply an ACL that included a range of addresses as follows:

    access-list 110 deny host ip 198.20.160.0 0.0.31.255 255.255.255.255

This command has been shorted to what follows in the running configuration:

    access-list 110 deny host ip 198.20.160.0 all

The ACL doesn't seem to work, as we have always received spam through on this range.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you for your time.

    Hello

Your syntax ACL deny only the host 192.20.160.0.

    If you look below

    access-list 110 deny ip host 198.20.160.0 0.0.31.255 255.255.255.255

You have the source specified as host (198.20.160.0 host)

destination like any other host (network mask and subnet inalid - 0.0.31.255 255.255.255.255)

You want to block what subnet or network, gave me a source and destination subnet? . Will be recorrect the ACL

  • Numbering outside telepresense SIP URI

    Dear all,

I'm new in cisco and telepresense Highway and I have a challenge to set up the system so that anyone from outside of the network should be able to manage our devices at the end of TV that are stored in CUCM presence. These are devices EX, SX and DX and the requirement is to compose these extension from any where on the outside with dialing SIP URI.

We already have expressway-C and E, configured for the client and customers Jabber wants to use the highway to be able to do or to make calls from outside any other end point.

This is achievable if so what would be the steps to get it.

    Hi Laurent,.

    To answer your questions:

1 can I make a call to my Jabber client for devices SX using SIP URI.

Yes. Method of numbering SIP URI is recommended, especially when the endpoints are connecting via the Internet.

    2. How can a person outside our network call on my devices EX and SX. Basically what he must dial to reach the device SX bearing the number 1234. for example [email protected] / * /.

An endpoint outside the network can reach your end point within your network through the highway. Any device on Cisco Unified CM can be reached during
the Internet by alphanumeric numbering assigned SIP URI or the required directory number (DN) using the <+E.164 number>@domaine. He is the solution provided by the side of the highway and track Express Core to extend your audio network seamlessly to mobile users, wherever they are.

3-Yes, I need to configure anything specific for this thing.

-You need set up a crossing secure area between your Core Expressway and the edge of the highway. Configuration is simple. Just follow the deployment guide in the link that I sent you. Refer to page 15 and the following procedures.

  • L2PT multicast mac address

I have a question about L2PT, especially from this documentation:

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/switches/LAN/catalyst3550/software/release/12.2_25_seb/configuration/guide/swtunnel.html#wp1005050

To my knowledge, when switch PE l2pt receive a bpdu, it will replace the destination MAC address by owner of Cisco (01-00-0c-cd-cd-d0) multicast address. This MAC address will be used until the BPDU packet reaches the output PE.

    According to the Cisco documentation:

The edge lights up catering out side the appropriate layer 2 Protocol and the MAC address and transfer the packets to all ports of tunnel or access on the subway even VLAN. Therefore, the layer 2 PDU remain intact and are sent over the network from the other side of the client network service provider.

... When packets double marking enter switch D, the tag VLAN 40 metro is removed. The MAC address is replaced by the Protocol Layer 2 respective MAC address and the packet is sent to the customer Y Site 2 as a single frame in VLAN 100.

If I get it correctly, then it means that the MAC address of the destination output switch returned to the original BPDU MAC address (for example the CDP multicast address). My question is, if the destination MAc was crushed, how know MAC address of origin output switch?

Second question: is the address 01-00-0c-cd-cd-d0 MAC used for all protocols BPDU tunnel? Or is there another MAC destination for each Protocol (01-00-0c-cd-cd-d0 CDP, something else for STP, etc.). If it's the same thing how the output switch knows what protocol the BPDU belongs to?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello Sultan,

    note

    > If the destination MAc was crushed, how does the output switch know the original MAC address?

a protocol in the frame type field allows to rebuild the right destination, MAC address, most of these frameworks use LLC/SNAP encapsulation and it is not deleted.

    See

LAN password best practices IOS, it contains a table with all types of Protocol CDP, DTP, VTP and so on

  • 1 single device unable to access Internet from my WRT54g replaced e1000

I'm having a problem with 1 laptop as I installed my Cisco e1000.  Here's my setup.

The E1000 has disabled DHCP (I turned it off to try to solve this problem).

Non-working machine gets the same information, sauf.107 as the final byte in the IP.  However, it may not:

    (1) ping to gateway (router wired), partially once outside, partially inaccessible Destination address.

    (2) ping any IP on wireless local area network - get the unavailable destination host.

I deleted and then recreated the network connection several times - the Setup is exactly the same Windows is concerned on both devices.

Until I get really pissed on a smash, the new router with non-working laptop wireless, anyone have any suggestions?  Thanks in advance for reading/tent to help.

Have solved it after talking with support from Cisco.  Apparently, the driver supplied with Windows Vista Atheros 5007 wireless card had problem with WPA2 encryption.  I updated the driver from the site Web of the manufacturer of the PC and boom, I'm back online.  My previous router was WPA, so I didn't know it was a problem.

  • Update Firmware of WRT610N KILLED access to all computers in the MAC filter

Last night I noticed that my firmware version 2.00.00 and Cisco site was an upgrade for me (ver. 2.00.01.15). Believing the upgrade would improve my router, I downloaded and installed.

Now ALL devices whose MAC address has been entered into the router can not access the Internet. They can connect wireless and access and administer the router, but router Internet access bars without worrying about the time.

What's worse, the screens used in the browser interface for the management of the MAC version 2.00.00 addresses have disappeared with the new update, so there is NOTHING I can do to fix it myself.

And in case it wasn't annoying enough, the feature that allow me to control when devices could have access to the Internet when the router is now completely disappeared in the new firmware update, so even if we get this fixed a problem, we want more This Cisco / Linksys router because it no longer has a feature that we regarded as a MUST HAVE when we bought it , and a reason didn't buy us other routers.

I hope I'm wrong, but there also seems to be no way to return to the set of features that we had before the (so-called) "upgrade" cabinet

We are a large family (7 children), and everyone has to lease a desktop, plus laptop, Tablet PC or ipod touch - some of us have all of the above.

On the 2.00.00 version of my router I'm diligently entered the MAC addresses of all devices in one of the 3 groups so that we can control the time that the devices of children can access the Internet. A group controlled the days of the week, other weekends of two control groups.

Once again, with the firmware 'upgrade', function to access real-time controling Internet disappeared.

So now that I have a house full of children in panic, try to complete school projects on a laptop that the MAC address was never entered into the router - the same computer we have laptop I had to take them to access this forum to plead for help.

Help! Someone! Please, I beg you!

(Note to mod: under the guidance of the compliance of the directive.)

Once that all firmware upgrades you must totally discount the router by pressing the reset on the back for 30 seconds then release.  Wait 10 seconds and cycle power to the router.  Now, you have to completely reconfigure the router from scratch.  Let us know.
