Cloning no CARS at the RAC?

Hello

Is it true that Oracle doesn't support cloning an instance of single node EBS R12.1 (Non-RAC) to the CARS?
Are there any other supported how do? both using clone quick or manual?

Thank you very much

MsK

Hello

How about corrections?

Make sure you have the latest quick Clone and AutoConfig patches applied on the source instance.

Our source database is 11.1.0.7 and the Pb of the target is also 11.1.0.7. .but there is patches referred to in 802875.1
I have to follow this Note?

If you are already on 11.1.0.7, you need not to apply these fixes.

Kind regards
Hussein

How to track an object so that part of the shape follows the object? What I mean by that: I am tracking a flying drone and I want a triangle to follow, but the point of the triangle to follow and the base of the triangle should remain without growth or movement. I'm trying to reproduce a line followed NASCAR. Any help?

Here's what I'm trying to do:

    https://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=6Y_ukGDv6hU

Head to 02:21:50 and I'm trying to reproduce the gray triangle next to the car.

    I guess you mean this:

You will need to learn Motion tracking, the effect of beam and simple expressions with the pickwhip.

    1. Open the pictures you want to use in the Panel film by double clicking on it in the project Panel
    2. Cut the cards to the part you want to use in the final blow by setting an entry and exit point by using ICT and the Alt/Option key + [and Alt/Option +]
    3. Select the images carved in the project Panel, and then choose file > new Comp from Selected
    4. Add a null value to the timeline
    5. Open the motion tracking workspace
    6. Select your video in the timeline
    7. Move the CTI on the image where you want to begin to see the sharp grey
    8. Select the video layer to the Source of the query in the monitoring panel and Track Motion (this should open the layer panel - if it does not open it manually by double-clicking on the footage in the timeline panel)
    9. Move the tracking box (it is no period but retail tracking) to the car and adjust the area research and size enough car to get a good lead (the default value is much too small for most of the time)
    10. Run the track for the period during which you want the gray thing to point to the car
    11. Check the track to make sure it's good and all the corrections you need to do
    12. Select the value Null as the target in the monitoring panel, then press on apply
    13. Return to the timeline and the comp Panel press U to reveal key images 1 Tracker in images
    14. Move the CTI for the beginning of the timeline, press the k key to jump to the first keyframe of Tracker 1
    15. Add a new solid of the size of the model to the timeline and cut the point by pressing the Alt/Option key +]
    16. Apply effect > generate > beam
    17. The length of the value to 100% and 50% time
    18. Set the start, end, colors and sweetness to get the look you want
    19. Add a chart for the title at the top block and put the anchor in the center of the graph, then cut to the point of the image
    20. Reveal the position property of the image by pressing the letter p
    21. Add an expression to the start Point of the beam by dragging the pickwhip to the position property of the graph
    22. Add an expression for the endpoint of the beam first typing 'p = then "drag the pickwhip to the position property of the Null value.
    23. You can then divide the table and subtract some pixels to the value of Y to move the point of arrival to the top
    24. [Cut the ends of the graph and the layers of beam by moving the ICT at the end of the pointer effect and press Alt/Option +]

You'll get something that looks like this:

The expression of the Position of end of beam modified to increase the end point above that the Null looks like this:

    p = thisComp.layer("Null_1_Target").transform.position;

    x = p [0];

    y = p - 60 [1];

    [x, y]

There are many ways to do this effect, but I think it's the easiest.

  • RMAN cloning of the CARS to the Non-RAC

    Hi gurus,

I had cloned successfully my DB of RAC to Non-RAC via the RMAN. Below is the configuration

    RAC

    -2 nodes

-GR 11, 2 (Compatible 11.0.1.6 according to the needs of the Application)

-ASM (2 starts DATA and FRA)

    -OS RHEL 6.3

    Non - RAC

    -node 1

-Stand alone11gR2 (Compatible 11.0.1.6 according to the needs of the Application)

-ASM (2 starts DATA and FRA)

    -OS RHEL 6.3

My approach was to clone DB and then change SID with utility nest. My understanding is that utility nest will also replace file ASM paths of CRAMPRD to CRAMSIT, but that has not happened.

So question is when I'm checking my paths on CRAMSIT he still refelect CRAMPRD eg - + DATA1/CRAMPRD. Is it possible to rename this directory in ASM railways so that it should reflect my SID.

    Kind regards

    Nikhil Mehta.

No, NEST would change the paths of the DSO.

I assume that you have set the ORACLE_SID CRAMSIT on the server not CARS before the restoration.

What you should have done is to put DB_UNIQUE_NAME = "CRAMSIT" (even with DB_NAME = "CRAMPRD") on the server not CARS before the restoration.  Oracle would have used the DB_UNIQUE_NAME to set the path of the ASM (note that when restoring, it would have shown ' restoration to + DATA1/CRAMPRD "but would have been catering to '+ DATA1/CRAMSIT').

You can now use Oracle Support Note

How to rename/move a data file in the same [564993.1 ID] ASM diskgroup

to rename the paths to the DSO.

    Hello

Well, it does not use emotive, they call just the technology for failover planned like that. To order one RAC node, you must use srvctl utility. The documentation is good starting point:

    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E11882_01/RAC.112/e16795/oneNode.htm

Patches could come from MOS (My Oracle Support), here are the numbers:

    Hello

    (1) If you use "DORECOVER" while cloning, please remove it.
    (2) its still not, simply set the FRA and IE

    ALTER system set DB_RECOVERY_FILE_DEST = '+ DATA ';
    ALTER system set db_recovery_file_dest_size = 2GB;

Note: Set it to primary and standby

It works perfectly now, and once Reset original value if you do not want it.

  • Rename the RAC Instances in 11.2.0.2

    Hello

    I have two node RAC - Systems Version 11.2.0.2 on Linux Redhat 5.4 X 86 - 64.

    + Node names stb, dwh
+ Name of the database: RAC
    +-The instance name 1: RAC1 on stb
+ Name of instance 2: RAC2 on dwh

    After completing the following steps:

+ RAC2 Instance delete with dbca on dwh
+ Convert the RAC1 Instance in Instance RACONE_1 (a RAC node)
+ Move the Instance RACONE_1 to dwh
+ RACONE_1 of the Instance to convert (one RAC node) to RACONE (normal CARS)
+ Add Instance RACONE2 to stb

Since yesterday, after shutdowning the corresponding instance I tried in vain to rename the Forum RACONE2 phen. RACONE to previous RAC1 and RAC2 names with srvctl change on the node with the currently running instance.

    + srvctl stop instance d-i RACONE2
    + srvctl change instance d RAC RAC1 stb - n-i
    Here, I have the problem:
I don't know how to change the name of RACONE2 in RAC1 and RAC2 in RACONE.
    You know the answer?

Never tried to change the name of the instance of the RAC 11.2.

But in earlier versions, I always perform the following steps to update after OCR changed INSTANCE_NAME in the database (SPFILE).

Should be called SRVCTL to remove and re-add the database information to OCR.

    e.g
    *****before the rename*****
    srvctl stop database -d
    srvctl remove instance -d -i
    srvctl remove instance -d -i
(repeat above command for each instance as needed)

    *****and after the rename*****
    srvctl add instance -d -i -n

  • Cards (NICs) Ethernet in the RAC configuration

    DB version: 11g

I came across this nice link on the RAC configuration
    http://www.akadia.com/services/ora_rac.html

    Question 1.

Cons. in the diagram, I can see eth0 and eth1 in both nodes. They are physical maps ethernet (NIC). Right?

    Question 2.
Each node has 2 ethernet cards is common in the industry. Right?

    Question 3.
For Private InterConnect ===>One ethernet card from each node, connected via Switch1

For Public InterConnect plus Connection to Shared storage  ====> One ethernet card from each node, connected via Switch2
This is the standard practice in Production DBs?

A question that you asked and there are very important with regard to the questions you have asked - what is the best technology to use for interconnection (private network and switch)?

And is not ethernet (as shown in this diagram you mentioned). The speed and scalability of the interconnection have a major impact on the performance of the cluster.

Gig-ethernet is limited in scalability and features. 10 Gb/s is the maximum. The standard of 1 Gbps. It does not support SDP (Sockets Direct Protocol), SRP (SCSI RDMA/Remote direct memory access Protocol) and so on. (although SRP specifications were available to sellers for implementing ethernet).

If you look at what Oracle Database Machine and Exadata storage servers is using, this is Infiniband... and protocols such as SRP.

InfiniBand out-of-the-box works at 40 Gbit/s (extendable up to 120 GB/s). Port to port latency is as low as 60ns (and still less with hardware and new technologies of the IB).

I don't see how GigE even thinking to challenge Infiniband with in this regard. Especially since Oracle himself chose as the interconnection architecture (and layer of communication of storage) for the fastest CARS ever built systems.

And no, it's not expensive either. Our IB material cost us really less similar material GigE.

  • Taking JDBC connection configuration supported the RAC in Oracle SQL Developer?

How can one Oracle SQL Developer be configured to successfully connect to a [Oracle RAC | http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oracle_RAC] environment, that is, not only the installation program always to connect to one of the individual nodes?

[http://programmersjournal.blogspot.com/2008/08/jdbc-connection-string-for-oracle-rac.html] is an example of a classic and taking version supported the equivalent CARS of a JDBC connection string. I've used a CAR of the same format connection string from within Java applications custom without problem. I thought that the same thing should be configurable in Oracle SQL Developer, by setting the 'Connection Type' drop-down menu on "Advanced", then enter the connection string JDBC RAC-aware as "Custom URL JDBC". However, after the test connection, the following error message is displayed at the bottom of the dialog box:

Status: Failure-Test failed: IO exception: NL Exception has been generated

There is no additional information shown on the display 'Page Logging'. With the help of Oracle SQL Developer 1.5.5.

    Thank you!

You could always give the current 2.1 ai2 test... continuous development may have fixed the issues in this area...

    Hope that helps,

As close and as much as I know, the number is limited mostly by the used clusterware.
At the same time, Oracle clusterware in Oracle 10 g 2 supports up to 100 knots.

can I still add to apple care if the warranty has expired?

No, if it is out of warranty, if it is for a Mac: http://www.apple.com/support/products/mac.html

The AppleCare Protection Plan can be purchased as long as your Mac is still covered by the limited warranty of one year.
