• Why replace MSE 8510 MCU 4.4 with Telepresence Server (3.1)

  We have a with MCU 4.4 MSE 8510. Looking at the software accessible to the general public, that looks like that I could replace the software with the telepresence instead server software.

  Why I do this? What can I win (and lose) by? I don't have any old CTS systems, just Jabber, MXP and C systems. Is telepresence server software that is actively developed while the old software MCU is not?

  This is why I think Cisco is not going to add MCU multi-screen support, because if MCU multi-screen support, I don't know that all customers would not want to migrate to server TP or buy a new server TP.

  I agree with Nick. Check all officials of the TP Server documentation, you won't find anything informing that TP Server supports the VAD. So, I could probably say that he does not support.

  Well, for me, TP server does not support VAD because VOD is not useful for video calls. In a video call, the heavier traffic is streaming video and no audio streaming, mainly regarding the TP server that takes in charge of several screens and brings experience of telepresence imersive. So, if you plan to use VAD with TP server in order to save bandwidth, it make much sense in my opinion, once you have always the video across the network, pre-cut, traffic still once, TP Server is designed for telepresence mainly imersive.

  I know you have audio only participants, but I'm just trying to show that TP Server is designed for telepresence imersive experience and to not be an audio common bridges for VoIP calls, this is why I think that Cisco has not applied VAD on TP server.

  My experience with Cisco Unified Communication, I would say that VAD is normally applicable in small VOIP links, where economy of bandwidth can make a difference. But during video calls high-definition, I don't think it's useful. In addition, most of the users I've seen dislike VAD.

  Can you tell us more about your needs? Why do you need to use of VAD?

• Extend the current TMS Cluster with two new server

  Hello

  We currently have a cluster of two TMS-Server (13.2.1) installed on a W2K3 Server with a database on a SQL-Server separat

  To have a smooth migration, we thought the following procedure.

  Addition of two new server with W2K8 R2 by installing a TMS 13.2.1 to the cluster with access to the same database.

  After a while remove the two old server and upgrade to TMS14 (updated TMSPE in advance).

  Unfortunately, we get the message, as seen in the PNG-attachment during the installation of the first server in new.

  Anyone know if we could proceed as described above?

  Is the message because of the different operating system. If I click on 'Yes' former TMS-server still works?

  The error message is misleading and can be safely ignored, and you can continue with the installation of the new TMS nodes. It was deleted in 14.0 TMS, see bug CSCui34702.

  VCA Mode is disabled in this cluster.

  5 existing and new are the same model of CPU and memory is of the same capacity.

  VCA mode is not required when the generations of CPU on the server is the same.

  Adding your host in the cluster will work then.

  As I said, all sources of data in the console of wl appear to be correctly configured with the option "Not packaged data items of Type" not selected.   I can say that the error I've met, because of the License (LIC-TP-SMP) I missed?

  You mentioned that the SMP license is "on the way"-If you have not all installed licenses? Conductor will support the old model of the "display license" or multi-stakeholder model, but whatever you use you must installed licenses or it won't work. That error seems to indicate that you have no license installed, it won't work until you solve that.

• Cisco Telepresence Server/Cisco Telepresence driver/Cisco VCS - C / Cisco TMS license

  A big problem with the fact that I'm stuck is licensing. Really, I have tried many things to find the solution for it, but could not.

  I have actually made all of these servers (mentioned in the title) in my lab in preparation for the CCNP Collaboration certification at home.

  I am not able to complete some laboratories due to license issue (I guess). Y at - it an option to get the demo license for all these servers?

  TMS and VCS - C when installed without licenses, are automatically set mode of demonstration/test with some availability of license to test with. If needing a VCS-E, you will need to do to your account manager and they should be able to get you the time limited licenses good because I think that 90 days.

  Conductor Essentials is free, which means that you can install and get full functionality without the need of all licenses, but you are limited to 1 conference bridge and no grouping is allowed.

  TelePresence Server require licenses to function, once again, reaching out to your account manager for this.

  At the end of the day, you should reach to your account manager for all of this, as they should be able to help get timed license if you need.

• Conductor of telepresence + server without encryption?

  I'm starting to get a little piece in our test environent with the free driver EGGS and telepresence server.

  By reading the conductor 2.2 deployment guide, he refers to encryption keys + SIP TLS as 'necessary' a lot.  As our test environment does not have the encryption key on the telepresence server, is it possible to run the driver + TP server in non-secure mode if we do not have the key, or is it an absolute requirement for it?

  I have a question about setting up locations and licenses on telepresence Server/conductor.

  In the lab guide, you can create a site with AD Hoc and conferences go to one location. This require two licenses of location?

  So you must put in place an MCU on telepresence BLAH ad hoc calls?  I use the telepresence server and conductor on VMware. It is connected to an IX5000.  Video calls go work with the three end points... but I can't have special video calls to work and that's really the question. I suspect that it's because I have only one license and the only defined place ad - hoc and configuration of Rendezvous.

  When I try and add the third endpoint video none of the video is active and the conductor was not aware of any current conference.

  The ix5000 works in the same way that the CTS and make endpoints TX, she doesn't have the ability to promote a conference for a multimedia resource with a MRGL, only to make an audio call only and it fill in the call or the Conference on what it is.
