ComboFix problem preventing Startup Windows 7

Recently, I had a virus and was instructed to use ComboFix on my under Windows 7 Home Premium HP p6310f. ComboFix messed up Windows somehow to keep it from start (based on what I've seen of a few searches on Google). I want to know is on the HP system recovery tools. Unfortunately, I was not smart enough to think to create restore points and I have to return a Windows install disk to use the recovery console or tool from HP on the score of "Factory Image. Will be the option that restores the disk hard it's "original settings" tool to do what I hope it does and put a clean Windows install on, or it will simply wipe the drive?

Thank you!

You have all you need to backup files?

So I read this article on how to save, once this is done, I would like to do a full restore of the HP.

    Hi Barbara,

1 when was the last time it was working fine?

    2. did you of recent changes on the computer?

It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is triggering problems and solution window to pop-up at every reboot.

I suggest that you perform a clean boot and check.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista or Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See the link below to learn more about how to clean boot.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

Reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    (a) click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

    (b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    (c) under the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

    (d) when you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.

If the previous step fails, then check the event viewer for the cause of the issue and after return with details.

What are the information contained in the logs of the event (Event Viewer)?

A problem prevented the document are analyzed. Windows 7 - HP G4050 scanner.
I have a HP G4050 which worked fine with Vista.  After the upgrade to Windows 7, I get the following error when scanning:

A problem prevented the document are analyzed.  Please try again, or to correct this information, see Help and Support or the documentation that came with the scanner.

I get a different error during an attempt of an overview.  It starts to get an overview of the page, gets about 2 inches to the bottom of the page and then I get the following error:

An error occurred when you set the properties of the scanner.  If another program is scanning, please wait to complete, and then try again.

I downloaded the latest driver (and reinstalled several times) of HP with no luck.  No errors are recorded in the Application events.

I'm going nuts trying to figure out this one!  Thanks for your help.

  • HP Deskjet 1512: Error applying driver settings, then a problem prevented the scanned Document

I can't find any question about scanning on this product, I want to post a picture of my screen, but can't. This occurs when you try to scan anything. The first screen comes up with "Error applying settings to Driver" then then once the product has tried to sweep is the error message "a problem prevented the Document are analyzed. I had this product since almost a year and were only able to analyse once. I tried in vain to follow all the troubleshooting steps and nothing works. I'm starting to hate this printer. I uninstalled and reinstalled, restarted my computer and more after each uninstall and reinstall. I unplugged USB and power cords. This software/scanner driver sucks!

I do not usually bother with these sites, but since I seem to be the only person who knows the solution for application error settings driver with scanners I should share it. I went through three Microsoft technicians and they were at a loss. They usually end by saying that I have installed a bad iso image and need to download a new one and reinstall. But anywho the fix is... run your registry editor and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\StillImage and remove the key from the photo don't worry it will be recreated with the key parameters appropriate because the pilot he rewrites and there you go no scanner error more I have to add that I am on win 10 x 64 with a Canon mp280 printer , but this should apply to windows 7 and upwards.

It is without a doubt.  There were a few patches published today, and I was able to update all my machines successfully.  This looks more like a virus problem.  Have you run a virus scan recently?  Many times, if you are infected the virus will prevent you to access Windows Update.

You can also use Microsoft Fix It to reset the Windows Update components: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058.  This could also be your problem.

  • Fix for common problems associated with Windows Update repeatedly trying to solve the same problem

When the machine running Windows Update on a Windows XP Professional (SP3 with IE8), the information for the download of the ActiveX bar does not appear. Tried to run the Fix for "Common problems with Windows Update" and it says "Windows Update components must be repaired. Difficulty-it short, reports of success, "Found Themes" saying "one or more components of Windows Update are configured incorrectly". However, still unable to download updates from the information bar does not appear. Repeating the difficulty happens with exactly the same problem i.e. reports etc. but no success still can not download the ActiveX on Windows Update since the information bar never shows up.

At tried all the suggested solutions I can find for the reported similar problems such as checking the downloads ActiveX security settings, reset Internet Explorer settings, and even resetting Windows Update (Articlce ID 971058) components. Still no luck. Therefore, I am unable to manually check and download updates of Windows security.

Otherwise my PC works well. Norton Internet Security is installed but did not prevent Windows Update to work on another PC I have. The information bar appears sometimes for other downloads, and it doesn't seem to be a problem on the Windows Update page.

Please can you help. Thank you.

No, I'm not not first uninstall IE8 (or IE7) before proceeding with the repair facility...

Long history, technical, short version: do not uninstall IE8 (and/or IE7) before doing a repair installation (Windows XP only!) leaves the two Internet Explorer and Windows in a State of "confused" or "broken". Your only recourse now is a clean install of Windows (after backup your personal data).

No, another repair facility won't solve the problem - even if you uninstall IE8 beforehand.

Follow the instructions in this post of mine in another forum (to-the-letter & in order! ) to restore your computer to a State safe & functional: http://aumha.net/viewtopic.php?f=62&t=44636

If you need additional assistance with the clean install, please start a new thread in this forum: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_xp-system

Note: The computer must NOT be connected to the internet or local networks (i.e. other computers) in its current state. All your personal data (e.g., banking online & passwords credit card) must be considered at risk, if not already compromised.

Wish I had better news for you.  Good luck!

PS: So that registry cleaners can solve some problems (temporarily, at least), they are not & cannot fix what caused the problem. Compare to treat a broken leg with a stick and a couple of BandAids.
