• Shortcuts in Menu start don't work (Windows domain)

  Hello everyone.

  I have a mysterious ailment. The environment is:

  -Server: Windows Server 2003 R2 with windows domain

  -laptop: Windows Vista SP2

  For users in the domain who work on PC Windows Vista shortcuts stored on drive O: location: 'O:\menus\VPoziomD '.

  Location: 'O:\menus' is shared on a network.

  When the user (eg. "student012d") which is in the 'PoziomD' group connects to Windows Vista PC to the domain:

  This site (O:\menus\VPoziomD) is mounted as location of apps from the START Menu (shortcuts).

  This is a nuisance. When student012d is logged in the shortcuts do not work. I'm clicking on shortcut but nothing happen.

  When I do nothing and wait for a long time, and I come back to this PC, I click on the shortcut and everything works.

  What's wrong? Where could be a problem? I have spent 5 days to solve this problem, but without success. :(

  It probably isn't a network problem, because I changed my switch to another, but it is not a solution to my problem.

• I want to create communication between two laptops by Bluetooth series

  I'm trying to accomplish communication series between two laptops via a Bluetooth connection.

  The two laptops are NOT portable Toshiba, but they work together the Toshiba Bluetooth Stack For Windows. They have both also use the default Bluetooth Manager program supplied by Toshiba and Dell (just rebadged?).

  Basically I can set up a connection no problem, but then I have never send data serially from one computer and watch the receiver serial port on another computer but nothing happens.

  Is there a good tutorials for this? It would be nice to have something for the Toshiba Bluetooth Manager especially windows and buttons have names as explained in the tutorial.

  I tried via a hyperterminal connection for testing purposes and it worked.
  Maybe the description also contains useful information for you.
  It is here:

  PC1:
  Start "Bluetooth settings-> Mode custom-> Select Remote PC-> Select"Serial Port"-> Accept proposed (in my case COM40) COM-> Confirm Assistant windows port
  until the installation is completed".

  PC2:
  Start 'HyperTerminal-> Select COM7.

  PC1:
  Start 'HyperTerminal-> Select COM40 (in my case. (See step 1 above) »

  PC1, PC2:
  Enter the password even if security is enabled for example "0000".

  PC1:
  Everything you type in HyperTerminal must be visible in HyperTerminal of PC2 and vice versa.

• How to interface ADAM 4060 in Labview 7.0?

  I had difficulties in interfacing ADAM 4060 with Labview 7.0. I tested the device by using the utility software of Advantech ADAM and it works properly. So, its not the hardware error or failure.

  However, when I want the interface using Labview, I couldn't make it work. LabVIEW does not communicate with ADAM-4060. I try to use user libraries > Advantech DA & A > Advanve > SlowDIO > DioWritePortDword.vi, DioWritePortWord.vi, and also library standard srandard, COMWrite.vi

  Where did you find this instrument driver? I'm not on IDnet. What is the manufacturer? They may have more documentation?

  In the other thread, you will notice that it is simply a communication series. You may be able to write your own driver quite easily.

• Serial communication cause the crash of LabView

  I'm set to do a serial with Labview. The problem is that the program always crash (no popup error but only LabView don't freeze) when I read or write with VISA.

  I work with a module converter (ADAM 4571) that convert Ethernet to RS-232/422/485. The module is mapped to the computer and the similar work as a COM port. I tested the connection with the Terminal windows and its work. This means that it is not a hardware problem.

  I did the same communication a few weeks with the same material and did not have a problem. I don't understand why it does not work now.

  I give my code as an attachment, but it is not something special except for the block that buffered (which is required for my module), but if I remove it the problem persists.

  Does anyone have an idea what can be the problem?

  OK, I solved the problem.

  The version of the driver for the converter module mapping was not exactly right, now I change it and its work.

  So, it's annoying. When you create a username for the community of Netgear, I didn't notice I was logged in as our sysadmin account of company we use for our hardware monitoring, rather than be signed as my own account. Is that what I can do to solve this problem, to get this username moved to agardner at sharpshooterimaging dot com? Note that I don't mean to change the e-mail address associated with our netgear sysadmin account, I'm just trying to change that netgear represent this community account belongs to the.

• Best practices Check - Configuration of the Communication Service

  So, we have the following here the use case...

  Background:

  We have a FMS instance that has several teams using multiple applications, air conditioned and have their own specific communication needs. Teams of infrastructure, such as the database or Server team are also included on this FMS. We have services configured around applications and their dependencies, so a single object will exist in several services.

  To work around the lack of granularity configuration and horrible the service-based E-mail in the form, I created an event rule that queries for FSMServices affected for a given event and iterates over all the unique services, pulling on the notification settings through our way of soil and trigger Actions from the command line or appropriate accordingly EmailActions... we use of the-d in the field of shortDesc service options.

  Here's our new problem:

  We have teams who want notification on certain rules of certain severities (such as criticism), but not others. This has created the need for a 'white list' or the 'black list' of the original names of rule for the event to determine whether an event should be communicated to our NOC or paged on our teams.

  We will create a new cartridge (FoglightCommunication) that contains a custom dashboard and the definition of the topology for a FSMServiceConfig object. This object contains a white list or black list for some rules should be provided for each service. This TopologyObject would also resume functionality which serve as my current shortDesc variables... Essentially, it would contain all THE information relevant to its corresponding FSMService object configuration. We have experience in creating modules advanced both in the creation of Foglight cartridge/agents/topology definitions.

  The dashboard would exist to facilitate the configuration of this new object and to facilitate the visualization of the current communication service. This would also allow our team to allow the teams less educated with Foglight feature more easily and completely configure their own communication service. Empowering the team owner is always a good thing

  My Question:

  Did someone in the quest (it's such a name cooler than Dell) sees a problem with this? My only concern is that we could lose all our configuration information to uninstall the cartridge for a upgrade problem. He might consider a work around with an option to export/import... but it's a messy solution and a non-human evidence. Is there a way to specify the data to be persisted, even if the cartridge that has defined this topology definition is uninstalled?

  Hi Adam.

  This looks like a very useful customization. I don't see why your team should not move forward with that.

  I also like the idea of building an import/export feature in your cartridge in order to preserve the configurations in case you need to uninstall the cartridge. Note that even in this case, type of custom topology that was written to the repository data Foglight will always be there (i.e. it will not be served unless you specifically request this) - so you can be able to get Foglight to save the configuration information important for you.

  I encourage you to update the community on your progress on this and send questions, screencaps, etc., as needed.

  Connection with Anyconnect and can access myremote network ok. If I run the IP Communicator application it fails to register and my remote access via Anyconnect stops working. I need IP Communicator to close and restart Anyconnect to retrieve my connection. Communicator IP works very well with the ipsec client. Any ideas?

  ASA anyconnect CONN DTLS is demolished when tftp error MSG is rvd-CPIC

  Symptom: ASA with DTLS anyconnect connection, when tftp inspection is enabled, if a TFTP file transfer is attempted the anyconnect client, and if the file is not found (or results in any TFTP error message returned), it disconnects intermittently the DTLS session also. This will cause a temporary stoppage of traffic because client anyconnect resets the connection. This is seen commonly in Cisco IP communicator when it attempts to use TFTP and the file is not on the server TFTP (call Manager). Conditions: (1) client TFTP and results in a TFTP error message (2) inspection TFTP is enabled Workaround solution: (1) disable the TFTP inspection (2) use TLS instead of DTLS

• ADAM replication nonsense?

  Hello.

  I work at the Technical College with sites in 3 cities.  Each city is connected to other connection latency of 100 Mbps (think it's a triangle).  We organize voice over IP, video over IP and telepresence on these connections as well as web traffic, file & print, Oracle, etc.  Anyone who has the telepresence knows that if the Wan can handle this kind of traffic, this should not be a problem.

  Yesterday we had the visit of the EUC VMware experts to review our configuration and he mentioned that what we have is not supported because the replication of database ADAM.  I've never heard of this problem before and I wanted to get feedback from others who have used more time than I've ever seen.

  We set up a 5.1 environment seen last October where the main login server is in TOWN and we have installed a server connection in CITY B and CITY c.  He said that it is not taken in charge and VMware doesn't support us if we call them.

  His suggestion was to abandon it and install a separate view environment in each city.  Say what?  I do not mean that he is a liar, but I always double check the facts that seem suspicious.  This is a database of ADAM and has all the necessary tools for latency and disconnect WAN.  In addition, it is a connection of 100 Mbps, a T-1 or less.

  We have made this process so that each site has its own Server VDI and users do not go over the WAN.  Provides local access to VDI with centralized management.

  Documentation of the view is very clear on this point. Replicated instances of server connection groups are supported in a single datacenter connected LAN environment. It is mainly to do with the router traffic JMS Inter, not the AD LDS replication (previously known as ADAM).

  So just upgraded to V10.0 of Safari. Went to connect my Garmin gps and download a new cache of geocaching.com but says need new version of the Garmin Communicator plug-in. downloaded and installed. He acknowledged my GPS but I couldn't send the new cache directly to my gps I could just yesterday. When I check my mac directory I don't see the plugin Garmin communicator as a picture disc. Geocachers out there having the same problem? Arlene

  Don't know what's happening, you do not give a lot of information, but if you have the constant beachballing (spinning wait cursor), which could mean that the hard drive is dying.
