  I need some additional opinions on what may need to be replaced. In summary, here is the problem. I unplugged everything from the motherboard including USB and media players. I took out all but 1 Memory stick. Everything that is connected to the motherboard's power supply graphics card, System fan, CPU fan, and button / stop. Also, I had to connect to the mouse and keyboard. It was an attempt to eliminate everything else. In any case, I start the computer and go to BIOS. I can stay in the Bios for about 1 minute until the computer reached 214 (F) or 107C and then stops. The CPU seems to be OK. I have not seen a failure of the CPU at startup. I reapplied grease thermal and cleaned and reconnected the heatsink with fan. The fan runs but slows high-speed after 5 seconds approximately. I usually less than a minute to go BIOS before the CPU is hot. The CPU fan turns at 3800 RPM. My guess is that there is a problem with the radiator. I would appreciate any advise on what could be bad, before I have to start to buy coins. I'm thinking that its either the motherboard or the radiator. The power supply seems ok. Thank you

  Boots, slowly, but eventually the boots completely.  Stop with no warning, no error message.  Windows restore does not, but Control Panel, Explorer open straight.  Both the monitor and CPU at the same time stop.  Starts in routine diagnostic Dell, but runs out of time before that anything can be verified.  All CP/power options are set to never.  Comp was woking OK, without recent changes / installs.  A few days before all this started OK ran Windows Security Essentials.   Thanks to all - those of you who wanted to return to material/heat were ahead of me, but you were right.  Finally got down and dirty, the plastic part that holds the main processor heat sink clips had broken, allowing the heatsink for the CPU.

  A new heat sink retaining clip, a little fat and we are back in the business.   Thanks to all - help each comment.

  I agree with you and the user SambadeAmigo. It seems like a simple problem of overheating and so the laptop automatically stops to prevent the equipment from damage

  I assume that your laptop can be enabled again after being allowed to cool. It is a common question if the cooling modules may not work properly because of the dust and debris.
  As suggested, it would be possible to remove dust using the can of compressed air.
  It should work.
